anyway, ignoring the kaishin drama. so funny to me Toichi and Yusaku being siblings. twins at that. like, imagine you're doing a heist and suddenly your twin brother who is not even a detective he's a writer is there trying to catch you looking all smug. and then he goes and calls you a child on the news. 10/10

I know everyone is upset about Kaishin but I'm more upset about Toichi and Yuusaku. Apparently they're twins and have always been close? Well that completely ruined the fun rivalry of matching incredible minds going on if Yuusaku was always aware and would never turn in his brother rather than being aware but never having evidence.

Like damn, Gosho, I know your writing was never the strongest but you need to stop tanking your best story points.

Yusaku and Toichi are twin brothers... Their parents divorced when they were little, and Yusaku sticks out with his mother and Toichi with his father. Toichi is still alive and in contact with Yusaku. Rip KaiShin!!!

Okay.... Let's analyze what happened in dcmk these last few weeks. Obvious SPOLIERS will be commented so you know.

> Appearance of Aoko's mother in Magic Kaito.

Where was she all this time? Why did she never appear or even show a sign of life? She didn't even call her daughter on her birthday... She appears so oblivious to everything, she didn't even know who Kaitou Kid was since her husband has always been obsessed with trying to catch this thief for YEARS. It seems like Gosho just randomly placed her in the story without trying to connect with the canon, it's almost as if she was a character outside of her original manga.

After all these years, Gosho decided to go against everything he had already said and made the Kaishin to be cousins, not only ruining a unique relationship (whether you shipped or not) but also bringing plot holes and contradictions in the story. If they are cousins ​​what's the excuse for them never trying to even interact before? Why was it that when Yukiko first met Kaito, she never acted like she was related to her? The same with Toichi, she always talked about him as just her teacher and NOTHING more than that, it doesn't make sense to put that in the story now. Why did Kaito never even have support from his family? Not even showing up at Toichi's symbolic funeral? How come Yusaku never went to talk to his late brother's family, even if he knew the truth KAITO DIDN'T KNOW...

No one even considered his feelings...

The biggest problem for me about them being cousins ​​is not just because of the ship but because of all the history and construction they had. It's as if everything that's different about them is summed up in the simple fact that they're related. But Kaishin has always had something unique, something that Gosho himself defined as "a mysterious bond". Them not having the slightest type of relationship made everything so unique, a connection that only the two of them could have together, one would easily understand the other even though they were complete strangers. Now I feel like they want to throw that away.

Gosho had already said that Toichi was possibly alive but the confirmation brought me a wave of anger and contempt that I had never felt for any other dcmk character (even bo). Let's think about Kaito in this whole story:

• lost his father when he was just a child and is still traumatized by it today.

• for 8 FUCKING YEARS he discovers that his father's death was never an accident but a murder.

• His father was actually an internationally wanted thief who was after a precious stone capable of bringing immortality.

• he steps into his father's shoes as KID and decides to try to find out for himself what happened to his father, who killed him and why.

• now there is a criminal organization that thinks he is the KID who didn't really die and they are trying to kill him once and for all.

• he decides to put himself at risk looking for Pandora, being something belonging to the organization and the police themselves.

• a lot of people hate him, regardless of whether he hurts people or not.

• more and more he becomes more and more removed from everything and becomes burdened with the KID charade.

• his own mother doesn't care about him, on the contrary, it seems like she likes to make things even more difficult for her son (she disguised herself as her dead ex-husband just to screw with her son's head, that's sickening to say the least).

• everything Kaito does is because of his father's murder, he never wanted to be KID, he never liked stealing, he doesn't do any of that for pleasure (except when it involves a certain mini detective but that's not the focus now ).

• and in the end his father was ALIVE all this time, doing who knows what while his son was risking his life because of him... BRO...

This whole thing is insane. And not in a good way.

I am 100% convinced that the Pandora, the jewel that Kaitou KID looks for and grants wishes, is actually Kaito himself.

Like, Toichi found Pandora, gifted it to Chikage under the moonlight, saying some romantic shit, and one of them confesses that they want a baby. And that rock goes, Okay! and just... poofs into a baby.

It could even explain why Kaito looks so much like Shinichi! If that's the only baby either of them know and Pandora shaped itself on their subconscious desires, then it easily could have made itself look like Shinichi, but with more of their own features than the Kudos.

I just found out so many spoilers for the new Detective Conan movie so be warned I am going to spill all that I've learned.

Yusaku and Toichi aka the fathers of Shinichi Kudo and Kaito Kuroba are revealed to be Brothers meaning Shinichi and Kaito are COUSINS!!!! (The reason why they have different last names is because their parents divorced and they each took a last name depending on which parent they went to live with.)

Kaito's father, Toichi Kuroba is confirmed to be alive. (I knew it)

Conan met Aoko Nakamori and she mentioned how he resembled her childhood friend. (Kaito Kid duh)

Ran helps Heiji with finding the perfect spot to confessed to Kazuha that is even better than Big Ben. Ran is reminded of Shinchi's confession in London and it's revealed Big Ben is her favourite place in the whole world and apologizes to Shinichi in her heart, but she is determined to support Heiji.

At the end of the movie, Heiji is finally able to confess his love to Kazuha at long last.... but she didn't hear him all because of Momiji and her damn butler, Iori interfering in their relationship yet again!!! (Glad I didn't get my hopes up)

And that's all I know. If I learn anymore news I'll update this post.

Wait I'm thinking about the cousins thing again (and why it's stupid), and mostly about Yusaku and Toichi.

So Toichi and Yusaku are brothers so they must have shared the same last name at one point right? If so WHY did one of them change it?

Toichi maybe for a cooler name, but he could've have a stage name and normal name?

It could be the case that one took their mothers last name but I doubt it?? It really doesn't make sense for either character to change their last name.

Reason number whatever to why this decision is stupid.

Toichi is his trainer technically but they both found this little baby zorua who is crazy smart—i imagine he tried to steal some food from them during a picnic and they were like “oh he’s perfect”

Honestly forgot about Jii whoops—he definitely knows about the pokemon thing but it doesn’t change much with how they interact. While we’re at it, I’ll add in that Aoko knows, too—the only thing she doesn’t know is that he’s Kaito KID

Spoilers for Detective Conan movie 27

I literally left the detective conan fandom a DECADE ago, but a friend just told me about the "Toichi and Yusaku are brothers" reveal, and while I myself supported that headcanon when I was in the fandom, the fact it is now actually canon is so funny. The Kudo (Kuroba?) family is such a mess, I love them.

Like, oh yes, I'm Shinichi Kudo, teenage detective prodigy, and this is my mom, Yukiko Kudo, former teenage actress prodigy, and my dad, Yusaku Kudo, famous mystery novelist who often helped the police, and this is his TWIN brother, Toichi Kuroba, famous thief and illusionist kaito kid with whom my father had a full fledged rivalry and who's been faking his death for years, and his wife (my aunt) another famous thief, and my cousin, Kaito Kuroba, you'll never guess what he does (yes, he's another famous thief). And my gramps! Who divorced and decided that recreating the parent trap irl would be so f*cking funny.

Like truly a family of meddlers and drama queens, lol.

Edit because I forgot to add "My cousin, yes another famous thief, with whom I ALSO have a full fledged rivalry".

Toichi reason for not telling kaito he is alive.

I havent watched the movie nore can i give facts but i have a theory which i want to share.

Toichi talked with vermouth ( his student ) about the possibility of dying to the organisation. No one man Crew can win alone against them. So she invited him to become part of the Black organisation and make it a organisation fight. This leaves him better option of winning. He agrees but doesnt want his family knowing he became a true criminal. In his eyes this necessary evil killed the consept of toichi and made him someone else, toichi personality truelly died.

The black organisation could have risen thanks to toichi and vermouth. By getting Mission and resurces who were original going into the animal organisation. It used toichi knowledge of them as own Inspiration ( code names ). The idea is to weaken the animal one and become necessary for the alcohol one. Once they destroyed the first they can destroy the second from inside. Worst case senaryio they can control the organisation to At least not be that violent as they could be. Control of the dark side which would exist no Matter what, to be an necessary evil only, an evil for the greater good. They can even keep locking for gems with this consept.

Toichi doesnt want his son to know he is good friends with an criminal boss ( like vermouth since they helped together ). Nore does he want him to be part of them.

This would explain his reason. His relationship with vermouth get some use. Why the organisation are so similar but not the same. Why the animal one got weaker after toichi death and came back only 8 years later. And why there is a Black kaito kid.

The reveal could come once Shinichi fights the black organisation and stands face to face against toichi. It could make the whole taken them down even harder because now it is about family. Kid has to decide if his father way and becoming an even bigger criminal for the greater good ( like he decides to become kid for revenge ) is his destiny. Or does he stop with everything and follows the part of Shinichi.

Considering his deception skills and name of kuroba which kuro meaning black. He could even turn out to be the boss. That is why the boss liked vermouth and why she is activly helping conan. The boss is okay with her beeing good just nobody else in the organisation knows this. They even plan for Shinichi to win against them.

What a plot twist and family fight.

Of curse no evidence only coneccting of existing facts with no real evidence. But it could happen because no facts stand against this theory.

Bonus:

Shinichi could become head of the police and kaito the new boss of the organisation. Control of the good and evil forces for the good of everyone. Like the anime bongou stray dogs had going on. The organisation could have kaito, vermouth, jii, phantom lady, cat Noire and maybe akako as members. They are all criminals who are not evil and are friends with kaito. He build up conecctions to the underworld so why not use that.
