Remember when Techno was supposed to be betrayed by Philza, but changed it.

Now I’m thinking that Phil had this plan bc Angel of death reasons to kill techno but got attached quickly. And now Phil worries about telling Techno, out of fear of their friendship especially considering what happened to Tommy.

see I suffer from a disease called ‘having 3.5 aus where Techno knows Philza has a plan to kill him but is chill with it’ however dsmp Techno has, understandably, a whole lot of baggage around betrayals!!

On the whole, I see Techno as a mostly trustful guy despite of his betrayals. Like despite the heavy writing on the walls, he got blind sided by L’Manburg, by Tommy, by Quackity. I think L’Manburg was a combo of blinded by his ideals and thinking everyone agreed with him, and Quackity leans towards Techno being arrogant enough to assume he’s fine walking into prison with the guy he killed (because surely he had the stasis chamber long before the prison visit). And then when Techno is trying to bring up his walls and distrust Ranboo, he bonds pretty quickly actually. Even if he takes a bit to admit it. Like the dichotomy of Techno as a prepper versus a super open dude, and doubtlessly it’s because of that prep that Techno thinks he’s invincible. He believes in might makes right, so doesn’t see why someone would contest him.

So on the one hand, Techno finding out would be a gut punch to his accumulative trauma. However, he is incredibly trusting, especially of Philza who was his only friend for a good chunk there. Particularly good if this is post Ranboo death (and the odd reconcile with Tubbo could show Techno after that it’s possible to recover from Phil’s betrayal). Or ooo if it’s the stasis chamber. Phil intentionally leaving him in prison to be tortured since it’s hands off way to ensure techno dies (because he’s too much of a coward to do it himself).

All that to say, I think it would take a Lot to convince Techno that Phil would/is betraying him. Like missing increasingly obvious red flags, still trusting Phil even as the betrayal unfolds. Acting like Phil must have a good plan or be helping in some way Techno just can’t seem to grasp despite his strategic bent (but maybe that’s the blood loss).

And maybe it’s increasingly clear it isn’t naïveté, but denial. Because Techno needed this friendship to work. For so long Philza was the only one he could safely trust. Philza was why Techno could trust, because he was the constant in Techno’s life. Because he had one hand on the stasis trap door, ready to rescue him at a moments notice. Proof that trust could exist and not be injured.

And then it was a lie.

I think Techno would still be in denial, afterwards. Or try to be. Pretend it’s all part of the plan. Laugh off Phil’s apologies. Try to be as cheerful and seemingly trusting as ever. But the signs were there. The way he switched his Syndicate seat to be in the corner, so he could watch everyone at all times. The way he never turned his back on anyone. The way he spent more and more time in his bunker, isolating himself more and more, constructing backup plan after backup plan in dozens of vaults no one would ever find.

Philza couldn’t bring himself to kill Techno. But he killed something inside him, all the same. The final blow on a heart that survived so many lacerations.

Technoblade never brought himself to trust another ever again.

How do you think Weight in Gold and Lambs Phil would react to each other.

I definitely think Lambs Phil would be confused asf as to why a giant asf bird is hugging him but he accepts it.

I think that man has chronic anxiety from being forced to be affectionate to monsters, but at least this one is blatant about it. And fluffy. Okay this is kinda nice. Lambs is still expecting to get eaten tho.

they’d have massive culture clash regarding hair, since Lambs has this whole intricate system of cultural meanings and connotations buried into their hairstyles, and Weigt in Gold is just like 😳 ribbon!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And immediately yanks out Lamb’s widow’s bow to preen Lamb’s hair. Which. Doing that outside of close friends/family is a MASSIVE no. Also probably tries to steal Lamb’s marriage ring bc SHINY!!!!! Lambs is just having the worst time lmao. But when is he not. He’s just a pathetic puppy to me.

At first Lambs is relieved he can just say whatever the hell he wants since it won’t be understood and maybe starts venting a little cause oh boy does he need it. Absolute freezes when Weight in Gold is suddenly like “█w██o██ ████——w█ ████ ███ mate ███ █th█████ at ██ ███████ ████s ████ █u█████ck█ █ ██s██ ███ should ████ █I█ ███████ kill them ██f███ or ███ you?” And Lambs loses his MIND he’s so STRESSED a monster knows his PLAN- but Weight in Gold is just like. Man this guy would be a lot calmer if he ate more dead squirrels probably.

Also Weight in Gold thinks Lamb’s roost is depressing and tries to help fix it up. Mostly by creating a giant nest in the one main room. Probably stresses the hell out of “Wilbur” since it’s so undignified unlike the Court. “Tommy” digs it tho. Probably turns into a baby Ravengence just to mess with Weight in Gold. Triggers infanticide trauma, and suddenly “Tommy” can’t escape the sad Weight in Gold, who has become aggressively broody and fatherly to cope. Tries to set the flammable birb on fire but unfortunately WIG!Techno’s enchantments are too good so he’s just trapped forever maybe.

At one point Weight in Gold coughs up some gold and Lambs just about starts crying from relief because now he can afford weapo- cough cough afford to feed his “family.”

Now, WIG Techno? That bro is a famous monster hunter! Him and Lambs would get on sooooo well. He’d just be like oh you’re dealing with ghosts, demon and a changeling? Let me check my notes… and just flip through his little journal until finding the right page and wam bam the “children�� problem is solved. Which naturally would be terrible but at least Lambs would be less scared? Except for the fact there’s a pig demon thing just walking around acting like that’s normal? WIGTechno just rolls his eyes and puts up with the usual piglin racism. And then finds out Lambs is broke as hell. Waste a time…

Is there ever one day where like-the monsters actually comfort Phil- like- buddy needs comfort.

yea! They do a number of times (ficlet), like in that first post after the reveal. “Wilbur” helps by turning into Phil because Phil always comforts him and it’s not at all creepy to stare into your own uncanny features. “Technoblade” helps through physical contact, and if one hand ona shoulder is comforting, then a thousand that hands touching Philza should be a thousand times more comforting. And “Tommy” tells him big boys are okay to cry. Which now that I think about it is just cute tbh.

Like, they do genuinely try to comfort him by using the kindness Philza taught them. Just, they can’t really console him over stuff their warped abusive frame of reference doesn’t even clock as traumatizing. Like, losing his kids. Or nearly dying. As an easy example, “Wilbur” wouldn’t apologize for poisoning him, because “Wilbur” doesn’t entirely realize why that’s messed up, and is mostly just mad the others got mad at him.

The monsters begin to offer comfort as they begin to learn what that means, or begin to realize what had felt normal shouldn’t have been. Part of realizing their trauma also is realizing the trauma they’re inflicting.

But they also can’t console wounds Philza hides, can they?

I think this would work, only because Weight in Gold![Philza] doesn't know what dogs are. So I guess he wouldn't bark but he would get down, probably looking confused.

However, this would NOT work if he had the slightest inclination about the dynamic implied, and he would stare at Techno very flatly and be offended by being so demeaned by the comparison to a pet.

Golden Apples!Phil, however, is totally willing to grovel to get back in his kids' graces....
