interacting and writing with people here is a two way street and i’ve noticed a lot of the times that people who complain about nobody writing with them, are the ones not putting forth any effort to initiate nor maintain interactions. why is the burden put on someone to reply to your messages or content expeditiously if you do not do the same? i’m genuinely tired of the victim complex people set up for themselves here and i won’t entertain it anymore

people who are so enthusiastic about the things i make and the fandoms i rep at my booth are THE #1 coolest part of the experience 🥺 i feel like convention artist alleys these days are mostly filled with the same 4 popular anime/mobile games and it's really hard to find less popular anime, let alone things like video games and webseries. you would not believe how many comments I got that people never see things like Team Fortress 2 or Portal in AAs, let alone stuff like Infinity Train or HLVRAI 😭 the people who recognize them are always SO excited and then I'M excited and we are BOTH excited and nerding out together. it's fantastic!!!
the hlvrai fandom is definitely still going strong! i still see a lot of fanart and community posts and my sales on my few hlvrai things on my etsy have Not slowed down lmao. i'm sure if covid didn't happen there would have been so many benry cosplayers in 2020. we were ROBBED </3 i've seen You and one benry cosplayer at ACEN last year and that was IT </3 </3 </3

#i wantes to give myself a treat cause today i'm finishing all units but :(#i normally get something at an alimentación (deli? bodega?) when i go to the library but i saw this cute cafe on my way there#and wanted to give myself a little treat but :(((#the blocked account is no big deal btw. just that a few weeks ago i received a message on my bank account about a payment calied 'malware'#at first i dismissed it cause i thought it was just spam sms#but they charged me 40€ for that transaction (made from amsterdam btw ?) a few days ago#i called the bank and they told me they had to block my account while they investigated and annulled the payment#theorcally this'll take a week. so#not too bad

ai art isn't better than real art, because art isn't about being good
#ai art's only goal is looking a certain way#real art was made by a person with a specific goal in mind#part if that goal is usually looking good#but you can glean information and depth about the artist through it#beginner art might be “ugly”#but it's made with the goal of self improvement#contemporary art might be “weird”#but they are trying to convey a message#ai art has little intentionality behind it#it reminds me of scrolling through Pinterest looking for the exact right reference for your art#and wasting all your time that you meant to spend on drawing#you dont need that perfect reference#you can use several references#you could take your own photo#you could draw from your imagination#in pursuit of perfect execution you have avoided any at all#if you make something with ai you are not actually making it#you are directing it in a way the machine understands#i would rather see a million “low quality” or “silly” artworks than one pretty ai picture#your art's silly subject does not make it worth less#it does not make it unrefined#its doesn't have to have a deeper meaning#you give it meaning just by caring enough to make it#telling something else to make it ruins that#it shows that you didn't care enough to make it or that you think its less valuable bc you don't know how to make it look nice#art is not just a commodity#its a way to communicate things that no other method can#never let yourself believe that art is purely transactional#it is a conversation#a interaction between the viewer and artist
