summary attending the grammys with four nominations, performing, and bringing your handsome, supportive boyfriend along with you.
warning(s) cursing and bunch of cuteness
The Grammy's. The day you've been waiting for since you were a little girl sitting on the couch with your family watching some of your favorite artists perform. Now, you're blessed to say you're attending the Grammys with four nominations.
You're allowed to bring a plus one. Drew, your boyfriend, will be coming along with you. You wanted to repay him for bringing you to his events and bring him to the Grammy's. Plus, he's been talking about it non stop.
"Okay, plan is to have you walk out on the carpet first, take a few pictures, then have Drew come out" Your manager, Alysa, explains before signaling you to walk out.
You nod in agreement, gently squeezing Drew's hand, looking up at him⎯he's already looking at you with so much love and devotion. "I'm so proud of you baby, you got this, take a few deep breaths" he reassures you.
"Thank you baby, I really needed that" you smile.
You start by briefly taking photos on the carpet. You gesture Drew over for a few photos as you turn around. He stands tall and to your right. His left arm is fastened around your waist, and his thumb is gently rubbing circles to keep you calm.
You two stole everyone's hearts with your complementary outfits—elegance and love manifested. Every time you two attend an occasion, your wardrobe always complements or matches that of the other person.
You let out a giggle and moved in his direction, clasping hands, before he twirled you around in a playful manner. The genuine joy and pure devotion that radiated between you two was captured by the incessantly clicking cameras. He kissed you quickly on the temple as you sat back next to him.
He whispered, "I love you," in a voice reserved for you.
Your eyes gleamed as you gazed up at him. "You have my ultimate love."
The paparazzi were getting loads of video and camera footage of your little interaction.
By the time you arrived at the arena, you were taken backstage to prepare to play two of your most popular songs from your latest album. You've been working with your dance team on geography and making sure everything is flawless. There's an outfit change that alters the whole vibe.
Drew and your manager were in your changing room before the show, seated in the front of the stage. He wished you luck before Drew and Alysa took to the floor where everyone else was.
Chase, his co star on Outer Banks, is here attending with his girlfriend, Kelsey. Drew mentioned prior to leaving the dressing room they were gonna catch up.
"Good luck out there, you're gonna kill it out there, I love you baby," he says, embracing you with a gentle yet loving hug that makes you feel protected.
"I love you handsome."
Once it came time to performing, you stood on top of the stairs when the lights were placed on you. The first few chords sounded out, and the audience burst into cheers. So many things running through your mind on stage⎯you got this.
As your final song ended, the audience erupted in applause, giving you a standing ovation. You turned to face Drew, and there he was—on his feet, applauding swiftly whistling with his fingers, pride on his face.
For the viewers at home watching got to whiteness Drew's reaction after the performance. The way he looked at you was filled with so much emotion, love, and excitement. They were going crazy on social media.
Then came the awards. Your category was up, and the excitement was evident. Drew's fingers intertwined with yours under the table, causing your heart to race.
Best Pop Vocal Album Category.
“And the Grammy goes to…" The entire arena was on their toes as the card was being open.
"Y/N Y/L/N!”
Gasps and shouts erupted around you, but your thoughts went blank for a second, incredulity sweeping over you before Drew gently pulled you up. "It's you, baby. "Go get your Grammy."
Your jaw fell, free hand on your chest, searching your surrounds, unable to think or feel what was going on. You've won your first Grammy.
He walked you up to the stage, his support unwavering. He brings himselve back the table⎯giving you your moment to shine on stage. This moment is about you.
Taking a shaky breath, you accepted the award, emotions thick in your throat. Finally glancing up from staring at the award in your hand, "This… This is unbelievable," you began, peering out into the crowd. "I've dreamt of this moment my whole life, and I wouldn't be here without my incredible team, my fans, and the people who've supported me through everything."
Drew's eyes caught your attention amid the crowd, filled with unshed tears and pride. "And to my partner in crime, Drew, thank you for always believing in me and being my rock. "This is ours."
Drew placed his hand over his heart and nodded, sending a silent 'I'm very proud of you' your way.
After giving thanks to winning your award, you were guided back stage that trailed towards the front of the stage where the tables were. Drew's eye's were already on you when he could see you in his eye of vision.
He gets out of his chair, adjusts his tie, walks towards you, "my girl won her award tonight," and wraps his arms around you.
Trying to hold back your tears, you acknowledge in a hushed tone, "I fucking love you so much, and I love having you by my side throughout this entire process."
"And I love you more than you know; I'll be here every step of the way," he says, gently swinging your bodies side to side. The height gap between you two is rather noticeable.
As the show continued, there were more performances that were unbelievably beautiful no one could take their eyes off the stage. More awards were given out from different categories. You ended up winning two more awards from Album of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
There are no words to describe how honored you feel after tonight. Everyone has been discussing the idea of an after-party following the Grammy Awards. After that, you can celebrate and spend time with Drew.
Fans couldn’t get over the interview of you backstage after the show with Drew by your side. He couldn’t take his eyes off you the entire time as he smiled. You would put your right hand on his chest whenever you spoke about him.
fan33: can we please talk about the tears forming in drews eyes when y/n stood on stage?!? #boyfriendoftheyear

Your number 1 fan (Part 3)
Katsuki Bakugo x reader
<<previous

It's Wednesday, and here you are, currently getting dolled up in the makeup room for your upcoming interview with the renowned Tv personality, Uwabami.
Your makeup artist withdraws the make-up brush from your face, offering you a warm smile, gesturing for you to look at your reflection in the mirror in front of you.
"Do you like it?" she inquired, gently moving your hair away from your face, allowing you to admire your reflection in the mirror.
"I do! You definitely need do this look for my upcoming tour" you exclaimed, utterly captivated by your reflection in the mirror. The make up artistry - the perfect eyebrows, the blush - perfect.
You swear you have never felt the prettiest in your entire life.
Right on time, your manager entered the room, looking visibly exhausted, with prominent dark bags under his eyes visible even from a mile away. He looked like he hadn't gotten a decent sleep in days.
"You look like shit"
"I'm aware" Shawn dismissibly replied, making his way towards the empty chair next to yours, collapsing into it with a heavy sigh before proceeding to open his tablet, resuming his work.
You picked up the untouched takeaway coffee on the vanity, and offered it to him. "Here. I think you need this more than me" you said.
He simply nodded and took a sip of the coffee. Time passed by, and before long, one of the production crew members called out to you, signaling that the interview was about to begin.
You patiently waited backstage, engaging in lighthearted conversations with a member of the production crew, passing time until the show started.
As the lights dimmed and the director shouted "action", Uwabami introduced herself, leading into the scripted lines, and as the cue was given, you confidently strode onto the set, ready to take your place on camera.
Talking with Uwabami has been nothing but pleasant. There was a natural, effortless chemistry between you both, as though you were just old friends catching up. There was no pressure or forced interactions, unlike other TV interviews you had experienced. It felt natural and comfortable.
You couldn't help but recall a particularly unpleasant interview where a famous TV host had the audacity to ask you an incredibly insensitive question, forcing you to put on a strained smile and sit there silently, as if he hadn't asked you the most offending question in your life.
"So, for my final question" your thoughts snapped back to reality, focusing on the host in front of you, who's wearing a grin on her face.
"When you were composing the song "Juno", did you perhaps have someone or anyone in mind while writing it?" she asked.
"Ooh, I like that one" you chuckled "I did" you grinned, mirroring hers "though I'll keep his identity a secret" you added with a cheeky giggle.
"What about a clue?"
"Hmm...let me see... Let's just say he's a pro hero"
"Ooh, but there are lots of pro heroes out there!" she laughed, turning towards the camera as though addressing the audience "How about we let them all guess?" She winked at the camera before continuing with the closing lines, bidding farewell to both the viewers and you, signaling the end of the set.
You stayed for a little while, engaging in a lighthearted conversation with Uwabami and other production staff, including the director, before retreating backstage to your make up room. There, both of Kim and Shawn were ready to leave, all packed up and set to go.
"So, who's driving? I don't see Mr. Smith anywhere" you questioned as the three of you reached the parking lot, noticing his absence. It was unusual for him not to accompany your makeup artist in the backstage while waiting for you to finish your shoot, especially as they typically engaged in their casual chatter while drinking take out coffee together.
"I'll be driving. Mr. Smith's daughter was in an accident, so I dismissed him for the day and gave him a whole week's paid leave" Shawn stated as he held open the car door for you.
You looked at him with a raised eyebrow before getting in.
"What?" He asked, looking at you as you make yourself comfortable at the front passenger seat.
"Because I'm currently in a car with a sleep-deprived driver... I just want to get home in one piece" you teased , causing him to groan in surrender before starting the car.
During the ride, you talked about your forthcoming tour with your manager, while Kim informed you that she will be sleeping for the time being.
Thanks to him, all the necessary arrangements had been made, leaving only the security to be handled. While the venue had already provided security, the HPSC requirement was for at least one or two pro heroes to serve as additional guards for enhanced safety.
"I'm just waiting for them to call back and confirm. And don't worry, I specifically asked for him" he said, his gaze fixed on the road.
Shawn's phone rang. He swiftly pulled it out of his pocket and handed it to you, implying that you should answer the call as he was driving. You looked at the screen and it was as if the situation had called for it, the caller ID displayed the hero agency.
"Hello, this is Y/n speaking. My manager passed me the phone since he cannot answer the call at the moment. I presume this is the Hero Agency hired for the upcoming tour, correct?" you asked, awaiting a response from the other end of the line.
Speaking of the devil
You were only met with a long silence from the other line.
"Hello?" you repeated, only to be met with another silence followed by a brief hitch in the callers breathing before they suddenly ended the call.
What the hell?

SEVENTEEZ ; HEARTBREAKING WORDS
The tired words from an idol bring netizens to tears as he speaks on his only love

April 26, 2025 (11:53PM)
Netizens have long been speculating on the romantic relationships involving idols whose every waking moment appear to be spent under the constant flashing of cameras, as the only information about them being kept in the shadows is the one revolving around matters of the heart. Seventeen's Mingyu, however, shattered the mystery when it came to his own feelings as one singular question on his most recent live brought an unresolved past to the surface, sparking numerous speculations about the young woman that still seems to hold his attention following years of yearning. Here is the somewhat controversial statement that stabbed viewers in the softest parts of their hearts;
"I've only ever really loved one person, but we ended our situationship several years ago because I couldn't bring myself to confess. We're in very close terms to this day but her constantly being so close yet so far from me feels like the worst kind of torture...I can see her, talk to her, but I can't love or hold her. Even then, I can't bring myself to let go, and to be honest, I would fly across the world on a whim if she needed me, even though her affection is taken by someone else, I would sacrifice everything for her...I already sacrificed my heart." Translated by @/Gyuahae_17 on X
The information unveiled through these emotional words were enough for netizens to collectively come to the conclusion that the nameless woman is none other than the artist whom netizens have caught him being nearly enchanted by every time they pass one another, Ateez's Himari. The maknae has been in a romantic relationship with her bandmate for nearly three years, aligning with the scarce details provided by the rapper, and has attended many events alongside the older idol where he hovered almost protectively near her - such as the Golden Disk Awards, which she was invited to as a soloist, and Dior's Paris Fashion Week event.
Whispers regarding the idols began circulating in 2021 when it was noticed that the oversized items of clothing worn during days where comfort was permissible did not appear to be the property of her bandmates, but were rather oddly similar to those Mingyu had been seen out in. The way they acted around one another whenever the groups found themselves in the same venues only fueled suspicion as the young woman's demeanor always softened from its timid state when greeting the rapper, some videos even catching their hands reaching for one another when they passed beside their - alleged - lover. Himari has long been known to share similarities with the angels themselves, with a constantly warm nature being one of them, yet whatever was happening between them was more than her usual curiosity of people, the blush on her cheeks was not simply from the heat, the light in her eyes not fabricated by the stage, it was something nearly mirroring the way in which she can be seen acting around her current boyfriend, Mingi.
Whilst the rumors faded into nothing more than vague memories, some content released two years ago caught the eye of those still piecing things together ; Episode 72 of Going Seventeen, where Himari assumed the role of an impartial judge. With, admittedly friendly, arguments being encouraged through its trial theme it came as no surprise that the thirteen men present in the room were quite loud when speaking to one another, yet many noticed that when Mingyu interacted with the guest his voice lowered noticeably and took on some sense of endearment. Through relentless analysis led by the intrigue of this unusual dynamic it was found that the rapper's attention was much too often taken up by simply gazing at the young woman, leading in a decrease in regularly decent screen time - likely due to the editors attempting to avoid dating suspicions.
During the Golden Disk Awards, the rewarded producer was seen embracing some of the members she holds close friendships with and certain fans called on body language analysts through social media, who came to this conclusion ; Himari hugged almost everyone from the side with the exception of S.Coups and Mingyu, indicating that they must have been familiar with each other's touches. According to experts, the interaction with their leader remained purely platonic - even when his hand hovered above her lower back to guide the vocalist afterwards - yet something seemed slightly different with the suspected ex-lovers as his touch splayed across delicate ribs while her own arms wrapped around his neck, something that would be uncomfortable for any relationship meant to reside in the realm of friendliness, before lowering to lay on his forearms after some reconsideration of their position. Earlier on that evening when Himari stood to accept her award, the rapper rapidly offered a hand to help steady the young woman who seemed rather uncomfortable in tall heels and instead of letting go immediately his fingers appeared to take in every second of contact that their skin made.
The last pieces of evidence found by netizens appeared during Dior's Paris Fashion Week show when the vocalist entered the elevator moments after the older idol, who was busy filming content, in the white mini dress adored by fashion houses and viewers alike. Ever so playful much like the tiger cubs that seem to hold her exact image, the maknae leaned against him in order to come into view of the cellphone camera and this caused the man's cheeks to redden almost instantly, nearly dropping the recording device. Although Mingyu never appears to have trouble keeping composure around women, he seemed to lose all sense of image when it came to the young woman, his hands instinctively reaching for her waist every few moments only to catch himself in the act and even giving up his own jacket seeing as her outfit's fabric was doing nothing much against the cold weather.
While there are many more videos that have caught the attention of involved fans, these are what they have come to agree upon, and some even hope that the idols eventually rekindle their relationship - though all would certainly weep should the two soulmates, known under the ship name MinAri, break apart. The emotion behind the 'Glimpse of Us' cover even began making sense to netizens, bringing more sadness to hearts already shattered by his admission. However, with S.Coups' insistence on the maknae's presence in his studio and the possibility of Seventeen's next comeback involving a Mingyu & Seungcheol unit single, perhaps hopeful shippers will see them reunited through a short feature.

Losing my mind over the musical symbolism in Shadow and Bone (especially for the crows). Each character has a theme. When we first see Kaz, we hear his theme over a slow shot panning up from the tip of his cane to his face. His theme is a slow, ominous violin theme. This establishes even before he starts talking that this man is dangerous. He is not to be fucked with. But it also establishes that he's calm, he's cold, he has it together. He's a cold, calculating type of dangerous, not a fiery, angry kind of dangerous. Just a few bars of music gives the viewer a really good grasp of what kind of character they're about to be introduced to without a single line of dialogue being spoken.
The first time we see wylan he's sitting on the street, playing his flute for change, and the song he's playing is actually his own theme (i'm obsessed with this fact. its so fucking cool.) His theme is mostly flute and piano (he is later shown playing the piano. The piano song he plays was actually composed by Jack Wolfe, the actor playing wylan, which is the coolest thing ever) So his theme being made of flute and piano makes a lot of sense. He's a musician, and those are his instruments. This establishes him as an artist, as a musician, as a generally very creative person, and so it pairs very well with the visual of him playing his flute. BUT. But. There's a third instrument in his theme. The violin. And it feels very out of place. His flute/piano theme is very soft, very flowy, very whimsical, but the violin feels more like a march. it's more forceful, more ominous. its actually very similar to Kaz's theme. It's weird. This flowy, whimsical song with this subtle yet jarring bit of very kazzy violin in there.
I LOVE this little detail. it subtly nods to the similarities between kaz and wylan, but also how they seem so different on the surface. Kaz's song sounds very different to wylan's, but under the surface, there's a very similar song playing for both, just like how they seem so different, yet underneath it all, they're very much the same. This is phenomenal audital storytelling, all in a few seconds of music people barely even pay attention to. But it connects the two characters before we even see them interact for the first time which is just!!!! the coolest!!!!!

Abstract ART
A Murderbot Meta Essay
My favorite thing about fandom is seeing how everyone interprets the same source material. And as someone who's most into character design, it’s so fun seeing how different artists draw the same character, even when said character already has a very clear canon design. What elements do artists leave behind as just part of the official art style and which parts do they interpret as core parts of the character's design? Where there's ambiguity, what do they add? How does each person depict “wide sunny eyes” or “quite tall for an elf”?
And with The Murderbot Diaries, characters are given very little physical descriptions, even for a book series. Even with the official illustrations and out-of-text author statements (which I choose to put into an optionally canon status; it's the TLK fan in me) we're working with relatively little in terms of what the characters look like. And that makes Murderbot fanart so fun for me.
And maybe one day I'll gush about the designs of the other characters, but you saw the title, and I'm here to talk about the most fascinating fanon character design trend I've thus seen: Abstract ART/Perihelion.
ART is a spaceship. Ok, it's also sometimes drones. The way ART functions, out of any character in the series, the argument that its true form is merely the physical stuff composing its brain is the most founded. And Murderbot does sometimes make specific reference to ART's brain as being what ART specifically is. But without getting too far into a philosophical discussion on the relationship between the mind and the physical world and what constitutes the self, ART is largely presented to us as a really large ship that can easily connect with other tech. Murderbot does frequently describe it acting in ways similar to a being with a more human body like rolling its eyes and breathing over Murderbot’s shoulder, but it's all clearly metaphor. And that works for a word-only medium.
But what if you want to create an image of these characters, especially one that had little to no accompanying text or audio or only words in dialogue? What if you want to draw the giant spaceship that all of the puny humans (and puny human/bot constructs) walk around in actually rolling its eyes?
Well, you abstract it.
And that's really fascinating to me. People depict ART as all these things that are definitely not a spaceship or a drone or any machine for the benefit of the viewers.
Given that this is largely a fan invention, there's far fewer restrictions on what Abstract ART looks like. (Well this is fiction, so really the only restriction is the imagination of the creator(s).) We do get some information to use as a guideline. ART early on is described as “big and diffuse”, it's able to give a lot of focus to a lot of things at once, and most of Ship ART (Murderbot, why'd you have to nickname your mutual administrative assistant that?) and its crew uniforms are dark blue, black, and white. Those few things as well as its personality paint how people draw it.
Now onto my favorite part, all of the different trends I've seen with Abstract ART. I've not delved that deep into MB fanart so this is very far from comprehensive.
It’s Just Ship ART:
Just keeping it to what it literally is in the books. I love all Abstract ARTs, but this one I like both for how closely it sticks to canon and the sheer creativity needed to show a sentient spaceship/transport emoting, thinking, and interacting. We already have stuff like this in the books, like when it flickered the bathroom lights to communicate with a certain angry secunit, but there's tons more that can be done: movement of the cameras, images on display devices, various appliances running, etc.. It’s a tough one to work with, so props to anyone who takes this approach.
Abstract Abstract ART Art (Yeah, my brain hurts too):
I'm kinda just lumping every version here that isn't ART's physical form(s) nor resembles a human or other animal. This is my favorite take because ART is just weird already. It's a super intelligent, scary machine whose existence is kept secret so it can fight capitalism while simultaneously doing a hundred other things ten times better than you can. If you're going to give it a form separate from its machine body/bodies, I say make it strange, eldrichian even. Make it a bunch of pixels, a starfield, a giant flame, many many eyes (oh I'll get to the eyes), a glowing sofa, everything everywhere all at once.
Creature ART:
I find this take interesting just cause there's a lot of fun to be had with picking an animal (or animals or fantastical critters) and applying their attributes and stereotypes to our favorite anti-corporate research vessel. Plus they work well in representing both ART'S human-like attributes and its very much not human-like attributes, with fantastical or hybrid versions having a more eldritch or cryptid vibe. While you could go with any animal, off the top of my head the ones that feel real fitting are an octopus (high intelligence that evolved separately from humans, multiple limbs for doing multiple things), a hydra (multiple heads, multiple areas of focus), a blue whale (giant, fits ART'S colors, rare, travels far), or really any bird (it's a spaceship).
Humanoid ART:
Probably my least favorite interpretation (all interpretations are valid, don't listen to me) just cause I feel more could be done to highlight that ART is, well, a bot and not at all human. However, I do get it. If you're going to give ART a form for the benefit of the audience, might as well make it look like what most audience members would have the easiest time reading the emotions and actions of (and it's not like ART doesn't have human-like qualities). Plus, you can still get weird with it: have this form change shape, give it unnatural proportions, make it a clearly non-human color, etc. And there are things the human form can do that a cat or a circle or a literal ship can't and maybe you want ART to do those things.
Eyes:
It’s very common to give ART eyes, or even just have ART be mostly eyes. For one, it gives it easily readable emotions, even if it lacks other facial features or means of making human gestures. Secondly, eyes work really well with ART's abilities and personality. ART can focus on multiple things at once. ART can be very scary and overbearing. It even works with ART's gentler side, if given the right expression.
Color:
ART is already associated with the colors dark blue and black (and to a lesser extent white) in canon. Like Ship ART is literally blue, at least parts of it are. And because of this, I have yet to encounter an Abstract ART that isn't at least 80% blue. (Fun fact: I used to associate ART with the color orange. Can you guess why?) Interestingly though, a large number of artists go with a powder blue or turquoise/azure for ART. I do not mean to be a color snob; please classify colors however. I just find this to be a particularly fascinating trend, cause most English speakers would classify those shades as light blue or at least not dark blue. I wonder if this has anything to do with the light/turquoise blue = high tech association. Now that I’m writing this out, I’m curious what color terms are used in translations of TMBD. Looking at you Russian version.
Diegesis:
Ok, so, final point: how real in-universe is Abstract ART? I hypothesized that the reason for this trend is to make ART easier to portray in images for viewers, but I wonder what in-universe explanation people have for this, if any. In most fanart, other characters (or at least Murderbot) interact with Abstract ART as if it is actually there or at least visible. I go with the headcanon that only other machines and some augmented humans can see its abstract form. This does stretch if not completely contradict canon, but fuck it, this is fiction and we get to have fun with it.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed my little ramble about a fandom trend. I'm gonna go eat a sandwich now.

Today we remember 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗞𝗢, who died on this day in 1970. Rothko's work has left an indelible impression on millions of people. Many viewers have had transformative emotional experiences interacting with his paintings, the same kinds of experiences Rothko claimed to have painting them. In spite of the grand scale of many of his paintings , Rothko sought an intimate communication between the work of art and the "Sensitive observer" he trusted more than any critic.
It's impossible for some artists to rise above their myth, doubly perhaps when the manner of their death creates headlines overshadowing more measured insights that might push us towards the elucidation needed for human understanding. But if the man himself has dimmed by absence, his impact is impossible to shrink to irrelevancy or chalk up to artistic fad. His work endures. His passionate dedication shines through and holds itself brightly in hearts of generations of art lovers.
In his Pratt lecture, Rothko's last public statement, he said,"...many of those who are driven to this life are desperately searching for those pockets of silence where we can root and grow. We must all hope we find them." Somewhere inside Rothko's vast explorations of painted light, many of us have.
Peace and love to all art lovers and thank you for sharing the artwork and helping it live though your eyes and experiences

Seeing some of the newer show watchers talk about the lack of queerbaiting in vld always confuses me until I remember they probably weren’t around for the 2016-2018 period, because looking back at it now, a LOT of the queerbaiting happened outside of the show itself. When I tell you Klance was big with the staff, it was BIG. Producers would comment on it, storyboard artists were making art about it, the official Netflix account made a post about it—the official Dreamworks YouTube accounts would even tag their posts with Klance. Pair all of the engagement that the show’s staff had with Klance along with some subtle scenes pointing towards the two—ESPECIALLY in the earlier seasons—it’s no wonder fans were taken off guard when Klance not only doesn’t become a thing, but they kill off the only confirmed gay character’s show-identified partner. A MASSIVE amount of queerbaiting happened outside of the actual show itself. I myself still don’t REALLY know why the things with the staff and Klance went on, I assume it was to garner the show’s attention. Regardless the interactions between the show and its fan base is largely responsible for the outrage regarding Keith and Lance.
DISCLAIMER: I am NOT saying I agree with any of the resulting situations between staff and fans regarding this topic, please don’t put words in my mouth regarding that. What I AM saying is the show used the potential of a queer relationship to draw in its viewers, and the overall engagement with fans did NOT help the matter.

My Personal Weatherman Ep 1 Subtitle Corrections
So I've been analysing the way MPW uses language to showcase the dynamic between Segasaki and Yoh - something that I suspect is not quite coming through with the English subs - and decided to watch Ep 1-3 again, with Eng subs this time. I am now going to complain about some of the subtitle and translation choices and edit them way too literally because I'm nerdy like that.
Disclaimer: Everyone translates differently for different audiences. This is not meant to disrespect the official translation team in any way because they are subbing for a more general audience and have different pressures, so don't come at me or them for our different priorities. I'm talking to the particular group of viewers who like this show and/or like Japanese and want to go a step further in interacting with the characters. That said, I'm happy to discuss MY translation choices so please feel free to drop in about any line.
Under cut because this GOT REALLY LONG.
I'm translating directly from the Jp, so sometimes my subs differ only slightly - I will lean towards a more literal translation here because that will allow me to explain my language analysis better in a follow up post so some phrasing may be awkward. Big changes/missing info have been italicised and bolded. Explanations of nuances/connotations have been added where I feel they add to the understanding of the character/scene, and the relevant phrase is marked with * in my translation and the Jp.
Ep 1
[S: だから、漫画つずけりゃいいじゃんって 衣食住の金は保証してやるから おれんとこに来い。んで、その代わり *俺の言うこと全部聞け]
Original: I said, just keep drawing manga. I’ll take care of your food and lodging *expenses, so come to my place. And in return, you’ll do everything I say.
Mine: I said, *it's fine (for you) to continue (being a) manga (artist). I'll take care of the expenses for your *food, clothing and lodging so, come (live) at my place. And, in exchange for that, (you must) *listen to everything I say.
*This whole paragraph is extremely blunt and direct. Every sentence is worded as an order, and this last line especially - the word "listen" is used here to mean "obey" - so this line really translates to, "in exchange for that, (I want you) to obey my every word". The reason it's not been translated this way is that it sounds so strong it borders on corny in English. In Jp though, the connotation of "obey" comes across not in the words but in the extremely strong/direct delivery of the line (contrasted with the extremely nonchalent tone), so it sounds more shocking/overbearing than it does corny. The original translation here works very well actually.
Technically Segasaki introduces himself here as 気象解説員 (weather forecaster) as opposed to 気象予報士 (meteorologist), but in the show's character bios, and when Man-san talks about him later, he's called a meteorologist anyway, so this difference is of absolutely no importance (I'm just anal like that). FYI, in Japan, all qualified meteorologists (who must pass a national exam) can be forecasters, but not all forecasters have this qualification.
[Y: 明日も雨…か*] Original: More rain tomorrow Mine: There'll be rain again tomorrow, huh? *Said with a falling tone, the "huh" here hints that Yoh is likely a little down/disappointed about the rain continuing, and lays the ground for his reaction later about the rainy season.
[M: 人を沼に召喚しといて 何なの?その態度 S: いや むしろ 万さんがかなり能動的に突っ込んできた印象しかないんだけど M: ごちゃごちゃうるさい ややこしいオタクめ S: ごめん ややこしくて]
Original: M: Why summon someone into your otaku pit and act like that? Y: No, it’s more like you actively intrude into my life M: You’re being noisy and complicated, you complicated otaku Y: Sorry for being complicated…
Mine: M: (You’re the one who) dragged me into this fandom, (so) what’s with that attitude? Y: No, on the contrary, I have the distinct impression that it was you, Man-san, who pretty much jumped right in of your own volition M: (You’re) babbling nonsense (you) troublesome otaku Y: Sorry for being troublesome
[S: めし なに? Y: あ、しょーしょうがやき]
Original: S: What do you want for dinner? Y: Stir-fried ginger
Mine: S: What's for dinner? Y: Sho-shogayaki
Shogayaki is a style of cooking meat, usually pork, where you stir fry the meat with ginger. Unless the type of meat is specified, it refers to Pork Stir Fried with Ginger, or Ginger Pork Stir Fry. Very common home cooked dish.
[S: あ、そ] (A, so?) S: Oh, is that so?
"I see" is a totally ok translation too. "A, so" can mean "Oh I see" or "Oh is that right" or "Oh is that so" etcetc but it has the air of a really bored "Oh, really?/Sure/If you say so" This is why Yoh's reaction after this is "if you aren't interested then don't ask!". This is the first of many times that Segasaki will use this phrase, as we will see in the following episodes, so I'm highlighting it here for now.
No translation issues here - but I just want to point out that it's reeaaally difficult to make tasteless shogayaki hahaha If you've had ginger stir fried in anything you'll know - it's not a meek herb at all. Canonically, Yoh is apparently a really bad cook. This will be pointed out again later, when he makes curry, because again, it's gotta be some kind of talent to make bland japanese curry; it's r*eeeeaally *easy. Anyway, the sauce that Segasaki asks for here is Soy Sauce, which is different from the sauce that he asks for later! Seems like a few people think they're the same thing (also pay attention to the sauce rack position here - Yoh'll will move it closer to himself by their next dinner hahaha)
[Y: ちかいんだよ、いちいち*] Y: He (leans in) so close, every (damn) time*!
*Not sure if this comes across, but the word for "every time" here is usually associated with slight annoyance, but the way "close" is said here implies Yoh's a little bashful about it.
[Y: 雨、多いな*] (ame, ooi *na...) Y: Rain...so much of it*
*This has the same feel as the "there'll be rain again tomorrow...huh" that we first saw earlier this episode. The ending particle "~na" bakes in a sigh and a sense of disappointment here (if you didn't notice the utter depression on Yoh's face lol)
[S: めし、まだ?] S: Food's not ready yet?
See, you don't notice it with the Eng translations because even the most basic Eng grammar will form a complete sentence. In Jp though, Segasaki is once again taking "man of a few words" to the extreme. He has taken out every single part of the sentence he possibly can whilst still keeping it grammatically complete. So this line is literally just "Food, not yet?". He's done this throughout the episode btw - it's why he comes across as so cold/distant.
[Y: やっぱ わかんねえよな] Mine: As I thought, he doesn't understand...
[Y: 結局 従ってしまう自分の従順さが憎い*] Original: I hate my obedience, always giving in Mine: In the end, the obedient part of me that always ends up following his orders - I hate* it
*the word used for "hate" here is "nikui" which is different from the word Yoh uses when he says he "hates (dai kirai)" Segasaki. "dai kirai" is simply the opposite of "dai suki" - to really like, so is more accurately "really dislike" than it is "hate" (even though it is frequently translated as such). "Nikui", which is much stronger word, bringing to mind the idea of a "strong rejection of/detest/disgust for" something.
If you didn't already know, the word "embrace" aka "抱く" here is a euphemism for "to sleep with (somebody).
Shoyu = Soy Sauce. Sauce = worcestershire sauce, unless you're in a tonkatsu shop. Then sauce = tonkatsu sauce (which is a slightly different variation). Don't look at me, I don't make the rules.
(This is very long but I'm going to write the whole monologue here)
Original: Every time there’s a sunny forecast, he does it with me The word sunny feels out of place for such activity in a dark and damp room It’s as if it’s such a lewd word being forced into my mind Do you understand, how I feel when I hear that word from your mouth? You probably won’t understand or even think about it for your entire life You have no problem sleeping with someone you’re not even going out with
Mine: (He) embraces (me) every time the forecast is sunny A word like “sunny” … (brings up) a completely different image from that damp, humid activity taking place in the dark And yet (to me) it seems like a lewd, obscene word, searing (the image of) itself into my brain Do you understand? How exactly I feel when I hear the forecast from your mouth? You probably don't understand, do you? Probably won't ever think about it your entire life, right? Because you're able to do this with me, (someone)who isn't even your lover, without any issues at all
This line was ad-libbed btw, if you didn't already know (link leads to Kouhei's 16th Aug IG livestream, and his explanation starts around 07:20 mark) They've talked about this a few times on both their IG lives, and Kouhei seems to get prouder about it each time hahaha. In the linked IG, Kouhei said:
(reading a fan comment) "More" was an ad-lib?? I'm gonna die
Kouhei: Yea it was…ah that was…um, Mashiko-kun… Acchan (his nickname for Atsuki) gave me a really good expression so…somehow, (by the time) I realised (what I had done), yes, (by the time) I realised it,I had said it. Well probably saying "by the time I realised it" is weird but… yes. By the time I realised it... "even more"…(I'd wanted him) to open his mouth more so. Yes. That's all.
[S: そこそこ高給取りになる予定*だから] Original: I'm planning to *become a high earner Mine: It's likely* that I'm gonna be drawing a pretty decent salary so...
*The exact wording here is actually "(it has been) planned that (I will) become (someone) drawing a pretty decent salary so" - the way this is phrased indicates that this conversation probably happened in Segasaki's last year of university, probably right before he graduated when he already had a job lined up for himself. In Japan, your final year of university is spent interning at companies and if they like you, you'll stay on as a salaried worker, so most graduates will have something lined up before they officially leave university.
[Y: 流されるな] Y: Don't get swept away (by this) This phrase is usually used to warn people not to let themselves be swept away/caught up by the latest trends/public perception/societal expectations/their own emotions/panic etc Here, together with his insistence that he's just Segasaki's slave and so obeying him is a natural consequence, and so is sleeping with him (as opposed to Yoh doing it because he likes/wants to) - Yoh is basically telling himself "don't get swept away" by the situation/his feelings because their relationship doesn't mean anything.
[Y: じゃあ、しばらく…ないのか。*slaps face* しばらくしなくていいんだ!]
Original: So, it won't be happening, for a while huh? *slaps face* I'm fine without it for a while, right?
Mine: So then... there won't be... for a while, huh... *slaps face* (It should be) "I don't have to do it for a while!"
Again, you can see, Yoh's literally spent this entire episode trying to convince himself that he's not actually in love with Segasaki, and everything he does for Segasaki, be it listening to him, or sleeping with him etc, he does simply because he is fulfilling his end of the bargain as "a slave".
OMFG I FINISHED THAT WAS TOO DAMN LONG.
I will finish Ep 2 & 3 before I do the language analysis post. But first... I need a break....
#my personal weatherman#taikan yohou#体感予報#MPW subtitle corrections#mytranslations#this was not supposed to happen#i just wanted to nerd out at the way they talked to each other#not do subtitle corrections gdi why am i like this#i had to split the episodes because it was getting too long#translating is hard work i respect everyone ok#but also i get very frustrated when the subs are off#otherwise i just kinda sigh and lament about all the nuances people miss#this is why i don't like to watch with eng subs#left some out that weren't too important to the storyline because otherwise this post would never see the light of day#anyway hope this helps#also hope someone comes and geeks out with me

A Callout Post
You've read the title, and Geronimo Stilton fandom, today's subject is this guy, @geronimosothercadilac.
Warnings: Misogyny, hypocrisy, crappily done suggestive art
Do not be deceived by the blog's innocent title, he is.... well, we're gonna get into it right here.
See, Cadillac, on top of the occasional post about the Geronimo Stilton movie and some nifty old illustrations of G, he also makes R-16 content of Geronimo, mainly him having an open shirt or having no pants. Viewer discretion is very much advised when browsing his blog.
Now, for some this may not be a problem, since we live on a hellsite. However, the line has been crossed since Cadillac has also been reported to have harassed fandom residents into making art that suits his "tastes". (These screenshots are from a dm between me and deadkat, and a dm between deadkat and ratonahat, respectively.)
And the line has been crossed even more with sheer hypocrisy, because he's gone on record being a prude about mundane things that have appeared in the Geronimo Stilton books.
This reply comes from a Violette sketch by melonforbrain, and yes, you're reading this right. This same guy who's made at least five MS Paint edits of Geronimo with his p$nis uncensored, is being this much of a prude over this sketch post that has since been unfortunately deleted. Have a look and feel free to make your own judgments on it (credit goes to @melonforbrain give them some love please). Please keep in mind that this was a WIP at its time of posting.
If you think the rabbit hole is done there, then you have another thing coming for you. The guy's also pulling a door-to-door salesman and sharing his posts in DMs with random people.
(Little warning for uh, his Geronimo Stilton open shirt MS Paint art)
Yes, that is him roping in people who have and want absolutely nothing to do with him! He mentions @2deadkat in these DMs and says they can vouch for him, but uh, around the same time Kat had him blocked for harassing them on similar grounds. (I've tried finding an @showdraws and I couldn't find anything, I think it might be showdrawn, who I don't think does any work for this fandom?? idk, all I know is that uh, no one's on this man's side fr.)
Also with him talking about an open-shirt G not being "suggestive"? Can I just point out that he's called this cover of Thea "sexy" and "seductive"? Do you smell the hypocrisy and misogyny yet? I sure hope you do because this man is pathetic. Do Not Interact, block this man's ass to kingdom come.
And Cadillac? If you're reading this, this is my message to you: Take down those reposts of 2deadkat and ratonahat's drawings you made without their permission, as well as these ones where you didn't even credit an artist. Leave us alone, and don't you dare say someone else is sided with you. I can assure you, no one is. Take your creepy art and your rotten vibes to R-34, you freak.
#callout post#geronimo stilton#do not interact with this guy#if you guys needed another reason to not like him#he dabbles in AI art too#good day new mouse city

people talk about needing boundaries in parasocial relationships for safety, “separating the art from the artist” as a means of still enjoying work by “problematic” artists, & “never meet your heroes” as a way of saying your heroes will disappoint you, but the under-appreciated flipside of this separation/boundary between art, artist, and reader/viewer we don’t talk enough about is just the basic, broader degree to which this separation actually allows us to connect with each other in deep, profound ways we just otherwise wouldn’t
like, there is a high likelihood you and the creatives whose work you enjoy & find profound & meaningful just would not get along if you had to actually live directly alongside each other in day to day life—or, at the very least, might not get along well enough to get into the deep and/or personal subject matter that that distance allows—but because you don’t have to actually interact or know enough about each other to even know whether you would click irl, you can just be heard & appreciate what others have to say without being burdened by the requirement of “liking” each other
so I guess what I’m saying is cheers to the positive side of parasocial relationships, and the connection our distance allows all of us 🥂

ROAD TO KINGDOM; NEW MCS
Mentor Taemin finally stands side by side with his protégée as co-hosts.

September 23, 2024 (1:16PM)
MNet's new reality show 'Road to Kingdom : Ace of Ace' welcomed new masters of ceremonies (MC), with one of them being SHINee's Taemin and although this already came as a surprise to the cast of young idols, they were even more shocked to see none other than ATEEZ's lead vocalist, Himari, step out alongside him. While the two artists on their own are revered for their talent, the industry has recognized them an untouchable force when together, as the soloist has been entrusting the creation of his tracks to his junior for the past four years, each more successful than the last.
'The show is already concluded, she IS the Ace of Aces.' Said YOUNITE leader, Eunho. 'Everyone's heard her name at least once from their instructors.'
The group interviews revealed that due to never having interacted with the producer aside from watching performances that solidified her reputation as a stage demon, intimidation was palpable in the room until their senior began speaking with an easy feline smile, surprising most with a bubbly outgoing personality. ONEUS on the other hand who have been long terms friends with ATEEZ were overjoyed to see the maknae once again, with each member posting cute selcas on their respective social media profiles.
ATEEZ had previously participated in 'Kingdom : Legendary War' and experienced mistreatment at the hands of staff members along with the network themselves, their maknae making it clear by planting a knife marked with the word 'justice' in the middle of a crown during a 2021 performance, which many believed to represent the show. The fact that they invited the vocalist onto set regardless looked much like a victory to Atiny as despite the repercussions suffered as a result of netizens finding out about what happened behind the scenes, it seems they were in need of someone who they had disregarded years ago.
'Justice Will Prevail' was written on their Captain's fan during the 2021 Gayo Daejeon and an exact replica of that fan could be seen on her Kanzashi (hair pin) during the first episode.
Amongst many adorable interactions captured backstage, it was the one between Himari and The New Six member, Junhyeok, that fans fawned over the most, where the younger idol seemed very hesitant to approach his senior despite making an entire praising speech to the members while wrapping up filming for the day. When coming across the two MCs talking in the hallway, the junior bowed rather sheepishly while mumbling nervously about admiring the artists greatly and once this discomfort was understood by the vocalist she began making friendly conversation right away, their exchange ending with a selfie along with a warm hug, which he would not stop talking about according to bandmates.
The network has informed viewers that the artist's presence might not be constant throughout the show due to the possibility of group schedules overlapping with filming dates, but from what netizens have observed, the episodes in which she co-hosts will by far be the most animated ones due to her dynamic with mentor Taemin. Road to Kingdom : Ace of Ace will air every Thursday at 9:30 pm (KST).

my personal interpretation of cyberpunk dead boy
finished the event story today (thank you sekai.best my dear buddy pal) and looped the comm numerous times and studied the lyrics under a microscope, so i will now ramble a bit about my thoughts!! spoilers for backlit lens flare.
cyberpunk dead boy, from what i can tell, describes how modern consumerism and fame affects artists. it tells the story of an artist who started out with big dreams of portraying their feelings through their work, but slowly began spiralling into this pit of numbers and recognition and a vain desire for attention. whatever they wanted to communicate with their audience no longer has any substance or thought. they are then left wondering about whatever it is they dreamed of before this. what was the story they wanted to tell? does it even matter anymore?
cyberpunk "dead boy." the artist no longer lives for their art. there is nothing to breathe life into. are they even alive at this point?
on the other hand, we are also given the perspective of the consumers. consumers who don't care about the thought put into a piece of art, consumers who only care about whether this will make them feel good or not.
when you connect these two, you get a vain, lost artist who no longer sees their audience as individual human beings, but as VIEWERS. BUYERS. and these members of the audience are also trapped in this loop of consuming, throwing away, and finding something else to sink their teeth into. there is nothing meaningful being created.
rui's 4 star illustrates these audience members quite well. see, none of the passing people are. people. they have electronic devices for heads, and they're all glued to their phones. the little child holding their parent's hand, it should be a very wholesome and endearing sight, but it just feels wrong. there is no connection being developed between the two. this card depicts this haunting dystopian society where art no longer carries any weight for the human race, and we are all just left as hollow vessels with a mindless desire for meaningless entertainment. we don't develop any connections with other human beings, and the feelings that rui wants to evoke within his audience are futile.
on that note, the themes in this comm and the cards are incredibly oppositional to rui's own philosophy. what HE wants to achieve with his own art, his dream. compared to the thoughtless robots this artist sees their audience as, rui is incredibly caring and treats every single living being with such soft tenderness. he sees his audience as people. everything around him, the nature, the interactions he has with others, every single detail in his environment is a source of inspiration for his work. every single detail means that much to him. and whenever rui encounters a new artwork, a new play or story, he never just plays it off like "YUP another play. same old." he practically takes apart each layer one by one, studies it intently and tries to understand what kind of meaning the artist wanted to communicate. he then applies it to his own life, and to his own work. to think that rui would ever treat art and stories as something to just be eaten, thrown out, and forgotten about, is unfathomable.
this only leads me to wonder about the role sakaki will play in wxs's current arc. we ended off the story with ohara explaining to sakaki that rui is interested in stage production, and would probably encounter him again in the future. the way they framed this cliffhanger makes it only correct to assume that sakaki will return and will have a bigger part to play in wxs's story and their development.
sakaki intrigues me. his manner of speaking is very light and careless, his mannerisms even more so. compared to ohara, who is incredibly headstrong and burning like the sun with passion for his work and every single detail that is put into it, sakaki treats these details like they're just. there. takes one look at the scene ohara is having trouble with and it clicks instantly in his head. says some cryptic shit and packs his bag to leave.
furthermore, considering that most event commissions are written for the characters, for the story in that event, i really wonder who this song is about? is it about sakaki? will rui encounter this exact same problem about wondering what it was he wanted to portray from the beginning (unlikely imo, but would be interesting to see). nothing in backlit lens flare even remotely hints toward the lyricism in cyberpunk dead boy (i may have missed something, correct me if im wrong) which only excites me more for their next focus hehehe !!!
this was just a bunch of word vomit,, thank you for bearing with me, hopefully it makes sense?!?

I've watched Beast Machines with @optimistpax and this might be controversial.
Beast Machines isn't as horrifically bad as the fandom says it is.
This is largely just my opinion.
Is Beast Machines good?
LISTEN I know the designs are scary, the genre swap from beast wars to beast machines is very jarring, some of the writing is wack, and they really did Rhinox dirty. Yes. I agree. I wouldn't say it was an amazing or even great show. Overall I'd say it's okay. Interesting at best. BUT you gotta admit that there was some unique ideas that they tried to showcase.
I started out thinking the same thing everyone did "WTF is this show, why are the designs creepy? the "I am transformed" bit is kinda weird" stuff like that. But we began to look past odd design and story choices and tried to view it as something more independent from Beast Wars and we saw some interesting stuff going on.
I'm well aware of its flaws, you're probably well aware of its flaws, so I'm not going to talk a lot about those. This is mostly talking about some of the good or almost good things it brought to the table.
The Redeemable
@optimistpax pointed out that the designs were almost good in some of their choices. Despite my early dislike of the designs I kinda had to admit that, even though they didn't quite stick the landing, they were kinda brave in going as funky and as distinctly shaped with the designs as they did. I respect the fact that they didn't waffle about being out there and alien. They straight up committed to being as weird and unusual as possible. And the designs have some cool potential if you look past the sort of creepy aspects. Ngl im tempted to try adjusting their designs to try and make them a lil less creepy. But some of the artistic choices were really unique!!
Post-apocalypse survival is a really cool vibe to see in a TF show! It was such a massive tonal difference from Beast Wars which personally?? I felt it kind of worked, at least for me. I can see why it might be a jarring shift for people but it was fun to see the characters encounter an entirely NEW set of problems unlike anything theyve fought before. It was fun to see the same characters fighting in an almost new genre. But I can see how that also might bother viewers who were expecting more Beast Wars.
The idea of the balance between the organic and the mechanic is also kinda cool. At some points it got weird, I'll readily admit, but the idea of balance between tech and nature is an interesting concept. I've always kinda wanted techno organic ideas to be explored more because there's often suggestions in Transformers media that hints at humans and Cybertronians being linked in some way. So to see this kind of explored was a good time. Wish they went in more depth.
Some of the artistic choices were actually surprisingly good. Like there's an episode featuring Rattrap where there's some really great colour, lighting, and composition choices. I can't remember the name of the episode offhand but it was the one where Rattrap promised not to let anyone harm megatron for 24 hours(I think) in exchange for something they needed. And he had to facedown his own teammates.
The episodes usually made sense and there was some really interesting character interactions. I liked seeing Cheetor kinda grow up from how he was in Beast Wars. I loved seeing Airachnid as fully on team Maximal. Her personality was so fun. Rattrap had some interesting character defining moments which I thoroughly enjoyed?? Despite being pretty neutral about Rattrap in general. Nightscream, Botanica, and Strika were very fun additions and I love their designs. Really put of the box thinking.
I didn't fully understand Megatron's motivation. Like I understand what he wanted to do but I'm not 100% sure what sparked it or why he'd want it. I do think him wanting to essentially run a dystopia is a cool concept however. I like the idea of him trying to rid himself of his organic side. It kinda hammers home the techno organic inevitability message that they want to get across.
Honestly I think that people hate Beast Machines largely because it was meant as a follow up from Beast wars and was incredibly different from it. It wasn't the direction that a lot of people wanted and expected the story to go. Which is fair enough. If viewed with some degree of separation tho I'd say the quality of it isn't that different from Beast Wars.
At the end of the day the writing was goofy but fun. The designs were unique and alien but kinda scary and needed a few more passes before going to production. But there's something charming about it that I think a lot of people miss.
If you haven't seen it yet but want to watch the show, my best recommendation is, don't expect it to feel like Beast Wars.

i have a lot of thoughts on ai and trying to put them down is hard but one that i think about a lot re: generative ai to make creative art (illustrations, animations, games, etc) is that it ruins the creative process and especially the inherent interaction between artists and viewers.
like maybe this is overly romantic (and i apply this to all art, even shitty art or silly art) but the best part about interacting with art is that it’s interfacing with the person or people who made it. you get to see all these creative decisions they made, their thoughts and imperfections and in a way you’re like peaking into their humanity. and to make art is to package all those things together and put it into a glass bottle and chuck it out to sea and hope it washes up on some shore that understands and appreciates it. and being on that shore in the metaphor- finding art that you’re like WOW I GET AND LOVE THIS- is so precious and amazing!! it is human interaction!!
but ai kind of destroys all of this. it’s the ultimate dilution of art into like the things that i think are really the least interesting parts- mass appeal and aesthetics- and it’s just no longer an artist interacting with viewers. it’s an imitation of that without any substance because it’s an amalgamation of stuff. it also lacks imperfections that are individual to the hands that created it. it’s just not the same and it’s sad and i don’t want this.
so yeah, not sure how to end this. just keep making art and interacting with people. it’s sad and lonely to think about getting our art, our interaction from LLMs in the future

In 1992, Artist Paul Sermon created a digital portal between two separate beds in different locations using 2 way projections for his artwork “Telematic Dreaming”. Viewers would lay on these beds and a livestream of them was projected onto the opposing bed in the other location. They could interact with each other across this live-streamed portal as newly disembodied, projected forms; hence the title “telematic dreaming”. This process was meant to call into question the nature of digital relationships by blurring the line between presence and absence. all images via @sermonpaul
