Let’s dive into the world of truck loading conveyors, explore their benefits, and understand why they are a must-have for modern businesses.
What Are Truck Loading Conveyor Systems?
Truck loading conveyor systems are mechanical devices designed to facilitate the smooth and efficient transfer of goods from warehouses, production lines, or storage areas directly into trucks or trailers. These conveyors can handle a variety of goods, ranging from lightweight packages to heavy, bulk materials.
Typically, these systems include features like adjustable heights, flexible designs, and smooth rollers or belts to accommodate different types of cargo. They can be customized to suit specific industries and operations, making them a versatile solution for businesses of all sizes.
Types of Truck Loading Conveyors
Fixed Truck Loading Conveyors
Installed permanently at loading docks, these conveyors are ideal for high-volume operations.
Equipped with durable belts or rollers, they ensure consistent performance for repetitive tasks.
Portable Truck Loading Conveyors
Lightweight and mobile, these conveyors can be moved to different locations as needed.
Perfect for smaller facilities or operations requiring flexibility in loading and unloading processes.
Telescopic Conveyors
Designed to extend into trucks or trailers, these conveyors minimize manual handling and improve loading efficiency.
Their extendable sections make them suitable for loading vehicles of various sizes.
Inclined Belt Conveyors
Ideal for transferring goods at an upward or downward angle.
Commonly used in facilities with elevation differences between storage and loading areas.
Benefits of Truck Loading Conveyor Systems
Increased Efficiency
By automating the loading process, truck loading conveyor systems significantly reduce the time taken to load or unload goods.
They allow workers to focus on other critical tasks, improving overall productivity.
Enhanced Safety

Cost Savings
Reduced labor requirements and faster operations translate to lower operational costs.
Long-term durability ensures a high return on investment.
Versatility
Whether you need a portable truck loading conveyor for occasional use or a permanent setup for daily operations, there’s a solution to fit your needs.
These systems can handle a wide range of materials, from fragile packages to bulk goods.
Why Portable Truck Loading Conveyors Are Gaining Popularity
The demand for portable truck loading conveyors has surged due to their flexibility and convenience. These mobile systems are designed to be easily transported, making them ideal for businesses with dynamic operational needs.
Key Features of Portable Truck Loading Conveyors:
Compact Design: Easy to store and move around, especially in smaller facilities.
Quick Setup: Can be deployed within minutes, ensuring minimal disruption to workflows.

Say Goodbye to Manual Loading: The Power of Telescopic Belt Conveyors
In today's fast-paced logistics and warehousing industry, efficiency is the key to success. Traditional loading and unloading methods often require extensive manual labor, leading to fatigue, increased costs, and slower turnaround times. However, with the advent of Telescopic Belt Conveyors, businesses can now optimize their loading processes, improving both productivity and worker safety.
Tumblr media
The Game-Changer in Loading and Unloading
A Telescopic Belt Conveyor is specifically designed to streamline the loading and unloading of various items such as boxes, sacks, and tires. Whether dealing with small vans or large trucks, this conveyor system can be electrically extended or retracted to accommodate different vehicle sizes. This feature ensures that workers can operate comfortably throughout the vehicle’s length, reducing physical strain and improving efficiency.
Boosting Productivity While Reducing Labor Costs
One of the primary benefits of using a Telescopic Belt Conveyor is the significant reduction in manual labor. By automating the loading and unloading process, businesses can cut down on the number of operators required while increasing throughput. This results in faster vehicle turnaround times, allowing for more shipments to be processed in less time.
Additionally, these conveyors come in customizable lengths, with standard widths of 600 mm or 800 mm, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of various applications. The optional hydraulic tilt adjustment further enhances efficiency by allowing the conveyor to be positioned at an incline when needed.
Innovative Features for Maximum Efficiency
Modern Telescopic Belt Conveyors, like those offered by Yontro Mechatronic Systech, are equipped with cutting-edge features to enhance operational performance. Some of the standout features include:
Three-Stage Boom Type Conveyor for extended reach
Angle Adjustment (0 to 15 degrees) using a dual hydraulic cylinder
Rapid loading and unloading capability for trucks and containers
Auto-stop sensor for box detection to prevent damage
Durable Rough-Top PVC Belt (5mm thickness) for improved grip and longevity
These features ensure that businesses can efficiently handle a wide range of cargo, reducing delays and optimizing workflow.
A Smarter Choice for Logistics and Warehousing
Adopting a Telescopic Belt Conveyor is an investment in efficiency, safety, and long-term cost savings. With its ability to minimize manual labor, increase throughput, and enhance worker safety, this innovative solution is revolutionizing the way warehouses and logistics companies handle loading and unloading operations.
For businesses looking to improve productivity and reduce operational costs, upgrading to a Telescopic Belt Conveyor is a smart decision that delivers long-term benefits.

warnings: 18+ MDNI!, sub!Terry, soft dom!black fem OC, explicit language, slight smut, a bit of a slow burn (forgive me if I missed any)
summary: Terry starts a new job at a warehouse after losing his life savings. He becomes acquainted with all of the workers except for one… the boss’ daughter.
Part One
Masterlist
“You alright over there Terry?”
“Yeah I’m good.” Terry responded.
He lifted the large boxes with ease, tossing them onto the back of the truck as they traveled down the conveyor belt. With each toss he’d let out a grunt, onlookers assumed it was from struggle but it was nothing other than frustration.
Terry had just secured a job at a local warehouse where he would load each delivery truck with boxes filled with parts for cars, motorcycles, trucks, etc. It was his only option after losing all of his life savings to a crooked police department.
Of course his experience in the Marines and his education made him a quick hire for the position. After a few weeks of orientation, training, and learning his new work schedule, he had fallen right in with the other workers who had been on the job for decades.
She watched him like hawk on the surveillance cameras, her freshly manicured tips tapping the sides of her coffee mug. She didn’t orchestrate any of the interviews or handle any of the paperwork that came with hiring people because she didn’t care to. She was solely there to do one thing and one thing only, find her next partner.
Terry had met all of the staff members on the job during his orientation. Supervisors, team leads, those with special assignments and floor workers, the same as he. There was only one person he had yet to meet, the CEOs daughter, Khloé MacArthur, the head bitch in charge.
MacArthur Motors and Parts Inc. was established in 1989 by a man named John MacArthur. There were a decent number of locations down south but his daughter only visited the ones closest to home. However Khloé visited very rarely, usually to spy on the workers and search for her new piece of meat.
She watched closely, observing his every move. Her eyes roamed from his face, admiring his naturally arched eyebrows, down to his full pink lips, his strong neck, and lastly to his chest that flexed every time he lifted a new box. The gray company shirt he wore wasn’t tight but it was no secret that when he wasn’t at work, he was in the gym religiously.
Jobs that require hard labor always had the perfect associates to fulfill her needs. Usually tall, muscular, a few tattoos and oozing masculinity. There was nothing she enjoyed more than making a big dog her bitch.
This new piece of meat she had her eyes on was nothing like she had in the past. He was pretty, no fuck that, he was beautiful. Everything about him fit perfectly in her sexual fantasy. She could see it clear as day in her mind, his big hands gripping her throat and that tight ass clenching every time he filled her up.
“Ms. MacArthur?” Olivia, the warehouse clerk and her personal assistant, called out to her, interrupting her thoughts.
“What?” Khloé snapped her head in Olivia’s direction, not bothering to hide her annoyance.
“Y-your father’s on the line ma’am, h-he wants to know if you can make it in t-time for dinner tomorrow tonight?” Olivia notified.
“I’ll pick it up.” She rolled her eyes, walking over to the phone. “Knock next time or that’s a write up!”
“Yes ma’am, I’m sorry.” Olivia stammered out of the room, shutting the door behind her.
She picked up the phone and smiled.
“Yes Daddy?” She answered in her usual sweet voice. The voice she used only for her father… and her prey.
“How’s my princess doing?”
“Fine, just doing my check-ins as usual.” She responded.
“That’s my girl, always making sure the business is running smoothly.” He said. “Have you found a date for the annual banquet?”
There it was, the real reason he was calling.
“No daddy, I don’t need a date for a family banquet.” She responded in a fake tone, trying hard to mask her irritation.
“Your sisters got her husband, your brothers got his finance, all of your cousins have partners. Do you want to be the only one there without someone for the third year in a row?” He asked, hoping to hit a nerve.
Every year the MacArthur family would get together and celebrate their accomplishments and achievements for the year. Some families had family reunions, hers had family banquets. They’d dress up in gorgeous gowns and tailored tuxedos just to feast in a ballroom reserved just for them, a few business partners and close friends.
However Khloé hated them because every year they reminded her of how lonely she truly was. The dates she had brought in the past didn’t make her feel seen or loved, they just enjoyed status. Witnessing her siblings and other relatives truly love and admire their significant others had her questioning her ability to be cherished and loved by someone other than family.
A husband wasn’t necessarily the end all be all for an ambitious and independent woman like her but she wouldn’t mind having someone to come home to every night. Someone she could truly be herself with.
“I’ll have to call you later Daddy, I’m busy right now.” Khloé said, trying to end the conversation.
“Okay princess, but I will see you at dinner tomorrow… alone I’m assuming?” He was pushing her buttons again.
“Goodbye Daddy.”
She slammed the phone down onto its receiver, making the cord bounce violently. She stared down at the brand new business phone, one she had begged her father to purchase. She wanted to upgrade the phones and computers in each warehouse. Just because the buildings were old didn’t mean the technology had to be.
After a few minutes of collecting her thoughts and attempting to bring her emotions back down to zero she went back to lurking from the small office window. She was beginning to come up with the perfect plan that would involve the perfect man.
Tumblr media
“How long were you in?” Earl, a man in his late 50s, asked Terry.
“Four years.” Terry responded, continuing to toss the boxes like they weighed nothing. “You?”
“Man I went in in ‘85, saw all that shit they wanted us to do, told ‘em they could kiss my ass.” Earl stated unapologetically.
Terry couldn’t help but to laugh at the older gentleman. His thick southern accent made what he was saying ten times funnier than it actually was.
“I understand that.” Terry said.
“But you young bucks got the heart for that type of training,” Earl said, wiping the sweat from his forehead. “Me, I been a old nigga all my life.”
“Oh yeah?” Terry continued his laughter.
He genuinely enjoyed Earl's company, he was one of the first few people to introduce himself to Terry. It didn’t take long for him to warm up to the older guy, seeing as though his extroverted personality made him so many friends.
The long conveyor belt had stopped, letting them know that it was time for lunch. They tossed the final boxes onto the truck and slammed the back closed before walking away from their stations.
“How long you been here?” Terry asked, placing his hands on hips.
“20 years.” Earl responded.
“That’s a long time man.”
“Who you tellin’?” Earl joked. “I remember when this company first started. I didn’t think it would last long. A business like this ran by a black man in the south? I just knew them white boys would tear this place to shreds.”
“What you think stopped them from doing that?” Terry asked.
“The same thing that’ll make anybody do something they don’t necessarily agree with-,” Earl looked over at Terry with a surprised expression “-money.”
Tumblr media
“Olivia!” Khloé called, approaching the large desk that sat right at the front of the building. The words “MacArthur Motors and Parts Inc” plastered on the wall in big red letters.
“Ma’am?” Olivia answered, tearing her eyes from the computer screen.
“Who is the new guy?” Khloé leaned onto the desk trying to keep her voice low so the employees passing by wouldn’t hear her.
Olivia turned to the file cabinet on her right, stuffed with folders designated for each employee in alphabetical order. She scanned her slim fingers covered across the tabs before landing on his name.
“Richmond.” She said proudly. “Terry Richmond is his name.”
Khloé took the folder from her hands, flipping through each page carefully. She immediately began heading back to the office to figure out how she was gonna go about getting him.
“Ms. MacArthur, I actually need that to finish his new hire forms.”
“I’ll handle it!” Khloé yelled from down the long hallway.
“Thanks?” Olivia said in a confused tone.
The break room was becoming empty as workers began to head back to their stations. Terry kneeled down to get the water that had gotten stuck in the vending machine, putting up a bit of a fight to retrieve the beverage.
She stepped into the break room slowly, not wanting him to hear the loud click of her expensive pumps. The muscles in his back flexed as he tugged on the water. Finally getting it from the bottom of the machine, he still hadn’t noticed her standing there. She planted her feet together, standing just a few feet away from him.
“Terry, right?” Khloé asked.
He turned his head to see her feet first, his eyes trailing up her body and landing on her face. She stood there, hands behind her back, a small smile on her red colored lips. The black suit dress she wore fit her petite frame perfectly and her thick black hair pulled into a sleek ponytail topped her business attire.
“Yeah and you are?” He said looking up at her with a raised brow.
“I’m Khloé,” She answered, holding out her hand for him to shake.
He stood, his movement seemingly in slow motion as he grew taller and taller, eventually towering over her. He took her hand and shook it suspiciously. He couldn’t think of one reason why a woman like her, dressed the way she was dressed, would be in a warehouse wandering around.
“Khloé MacArthur, I’m the owner's daughter.” She said, hoping to rid him of the obvious skepticism she saw in his expression.
“Oh, Ms. MacArthur.” He said in surprise, immediately changing his expression. “My apologies, you scared me for a moment there.”
“No need to apologize. I’m usually traveling, I’m hardly ever here so I understand.” She assured him, staring into his eyes.
She held onto his hand longer than she planned to, not noticing until his eyes darted down and back to her face.
“I’m sorry-“ She said, finally letting go of his hand. “-it’s just, your eyes are so beautiful.”
Terry looked down, blushing a bit.
“Thank you.” He said, returning his eyes to hers.
“You hear that a lot, I’m sure.”
“I do.”
“When did you start? I know I haven't been here in a while but I’d definitely remember seeing your face.” Khloé asked, shifting her weight onto her left leg.
“A few weeks ago actually.” He answered.
The eye contact was almost intimidating but Khloé wasn’t a woman who folded easily, even standing in the presence of this Earthly God.
“How you liking it so far?”
“It’s good. I’m still getting used to the scheduling, a lot of coffee in my diet lately but it’s pretty cool.”
“Not an early bird, huh?”
“No ma’am.” He turned to look back at the clock on the wall and she took this quick moment to get a close up of his chest, flexing as he turned. She bit down on her bottom lip before he could notice.
“I hate to be rude Ms. MacArthur-“
“Khloé” She interrupted.
His lip folded into a slight grin. “Khloe, I have to get back on the floor, my lunch is over. It was a pleasure meeting you.”
“The pleasure is all mine.” She smiled up at him as she watched him walk away, her eyes scanning the back of his body.
“That is an ass on that man.” She whispered to herself before heading back to her side of the warehouse.
4 hours later
“Another day, another couple hundred dollars, young blood.” Earl announced, swinging his bag over his shoulder. “You got plans for tonight, you know it’s “Free shot Friday’s” down at Frankie’s?”
“Nah I’m good man, I don’t drink much.” Terry said, placing both of his arms into the straps of his backpack.
“You know Terry’s a good guy-“ John, another man shouted from behind the two of them. “-he ain’t no drinker or smoker.”
“Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, that’s why he built like a gladiator and we walkin’ around with beer bellies.” Earl joked, receiving laughs from the other men in the locker room.
Terry chuckled, placing the last of his work items into his locker before leaving the locker room. The only thing left for him to do was clock out for the evening and head home.
“I see y’all boys on Monday, y’all be safe.” And with that Terry left the locker room, heading to his truck.
He reached into his pants pocket to grab his badge and swiped it across the small box designated for clock-ins/clock-outs.
He exited the building walking to his truck, relieved to be at the end of another workday. He searched his pockets for his keys unaware of the pair of eyes that had been on him the entire time he spent in the parking lot.
She watched the TV screen closely, each quadrant displaying different areas in the building and parking lot. It had been two years since she had been with anybody but this was the first time she had this type of craving for someone.
Sure she had flings here and there but this longing was so strong, she could practically feel him inside of her already. Like his energy was pulling on hers, begging her for connection.
Khloé could still smell his scent, the mixture of cologne and sweat as if he were standing right behind her. She could still see the thick veins in his arms, permanently in her memory. She couldn’t wait to find out if he had those same veins on his dick, licking her lips at the thought of feeling him along her tongue.
*Knock Knock*
She was suddenly snapped out of her thoughts and grateful for it.
“Come in.”
“The night shift are all clocked in and at their stations, are you ready to go Ms. MacArthur?” Olivia asked, her large purse hanging off of her shoulder.
“Yes, let’s go.”
Khloé grabbed her purse, her keys and Terry’s employee work file and headed out of the office.
Tumblr media
She paced back and forth in her living room, biting the insides of her cheeks. Her feet sank into the white plush rug as she read over the pages for the 10th time, trying to piece this man together.
She had been looking over Terry’s file for the past hour now. She studied every page, every background check, every piece of information they had on him but unfortunately it wasn’t much.
Walking over to her computer, she wiggled the mouse and slammed herself into her large desk chair that sat against her window. The heavily lit view of downtown shined lights through her windows along with the full moon up in the sky as she began her research.
“Terrance Richmond, former Marine, Born June 7, 1994.” She whispered to herself, typing each word as she spoke.
‘He’s 30, perfect.’ She thought.
She searched his name to see if she could find him on social media.
No Twitter.
No Facebook.
No Instagram.
“Who the fuck is this man?”
She continued searching, scrolling for what seemed like hours until she stumbled across an article for a small town called “Shelby Springs”. The article titled “Ex-Marine Exposes SSPD” caused her invisible antennas to perk up.
‘Former Marine, Terrance Richmond, helps stop corruption invading Shelby Springs. After officers unlawfully seized $36,000 from Richmond, the last of his savings intended for posting bail for his late cousin, Richmond took matters into his own hands. One man gets justice for himself, his cousin and others who were wrongfully convicted.’
“So he’s some sort of hero?” She licked her lips, smirking to herself. The fact that this one man had gone to war with a police department full of cops and won made her nipples hard.
She could feel the gears in her head begin to turn as she finished reading the article. Learning about his time in the Marines and him being trained in martial arts, he was the perfect candidate for her future escapades.
Images flashed in her mind. Images of her hands against his bare chest as she rode him, the view of him looking down on her while she went down on him, him sitting back and watching while she played with herself. Each scene sent a shiver down her spine. She crossed her legs tightly rubbing her thighs together to create a pleasureful friction.
Khloé didn’t want to fully pleasure herself just yet. She knew the build up would be so worth it, she could feel it. She needed to contain her desire for an orgasm. She wanted to be sure that he was the one to give it to her.
Shutting down her computer, she closed his file and placed it on the counter next to her purse. She went into her bathroom and started the shower turning the knob to the far right to make the water cold.
After about 15 minutes of washing up and bringing her arousal back down she prepared for bed. She got into her large queen sized bed, topped with a thick white comforter and smiled to herself…
so her mission begins.
to be continued…

JJ walked into the market on Christmas Eve for a last minute item he needed before he headed to John B and Sarah's place.
Holidays weren’t really JJ’s thing, but if there’s one thing about JJ Maybank, he’s a family man. He’d do almost anything to spend some quality time with his friends.
JJ walked up and down the aisles, making sure he didn’t miss anything.
But, then there was you.
You were home for Christmas visiting your family since you moved away the previous year.
There you stood with your hair as curly as he remembered and a sweater that swallowed you whole.
You stood on your tallest tiptoes attempting to reach a jug of eggnog.
JJ grew shy, and that’s not like him. He felt his cheeks heat up at the sight of you. He wanted to talk to you, and he wanted nothing more than to grab you and never let you go again.
Finally, he mustered up the courage to make his way to you and, by time he did, your feet were already flat on the floor and putting the eggnog in your cart.
However, he still followed you and tapped your shoulder.
You spun around only to be met with his baby blues, and they were as beautiful as you remembered. Eyes wide, you smiled at him.
“JJ?” you questioned in disbelief.
“Hi.” he said just above a whisper.
You went to hug him, but your purse slid off your shoulder, the contents spilling all over the cold ground. You and the blonde boy laughed as you both bent down to pick everything up.
With your wallet being the first to fall out, it opened and out came a photo that you kept tucked away. It was a photo of you and the pogues many summers ago.
JJ grabbed the photo with a small smile on his face as he slid it back into your wallet.
The two of you stood up, eyes locked.
“Thank you, J.” your old nickname for him almost made JJ’s heart skip a beat.
You two carried on a conversation as you walked to the checkout while catching up. It almost seemed like you were getting to know each other again. People stood around throwing looks your way as you two laughed as loud as you could.
You and JJ giggled as you both loaded your groceries onto the conveyor belt, forgetting about your surroundings.
“Ma’am… your card?” the cashier spoke as she clicked her long nails onto the counter.
You jumped, “Right, sorry!” you spoke quickly, your smile still on your face as your cheeks grew red.
You eyed JJ as you slid your card into the machine. Once again, you both started giggling.
JJ walked you to your car and helped you load your groceries.
“It was really good to see you,” JJ said as you loaded the last bag into your car.
You felt your insides twist and turn, and you felt 17 again. You still loved this boy.
“Yeah, you too, Jayj.” you smiled as JJ took your cart.
“See ya around?” he asked, hope in his voice. He began backing up to put your cart away.
You nodded as your cheeks began to turn a dark shade of pink.
You turned to unlock your car, but you felt like living on the edge.
Spinning back around on your heel, you call for JJ.
“Do you wanna go get a drink?” you yelled across the parking lot.
You watched as the boy's head snapped towards you with the biggest smile.
“I thought you’d never ask.”
You threw your truck keys to JJ, him gracefully catching them just like he used to.
Whenever you and JJ would go out together years ago, you always grabbed the keys first and made a run for it towards the truck, always trying to get there before JJ.
flashback
JJ had just asked you out for the first time. It was your first date ever and to say you were nervous was an understatement. You had the perfect outfit picked out and made sure everything was perfect even down to your socks, even though somehow they still ended up being mismatched cause that’s just who you were.
You were wild and free, and JJ loved that. He loved watching you on the boat, downing a beer as the wind and water blew through your hair. Your swimsuit top hugged your breasts just right and he couldn’t keep his eyes away.
You felt the same about JJ. He was everything to you: your best friend, your soulmate, your first love.
Your doorbell rang faintly as it was old, and you rushed to the door, grabbing your truck keys off the side table, hiding them behind your back.
You opened the door to the familiar smile of JJ Maybank.
“Hey, princess.” JJ cheered and you smiled.
You dangled the keys in front of his face and made a run for it.
“Damn it, y/n!” JJ yelled from behind, running after you.
You laughed out loud as JJ ran up behind you and picked you up. You began kicking your feet as an attempt to get JJ to put you down.
Finally, he did and you two stared into each other's eyes for a split second. He made his way to the driver side and you threw the keys his way.
-
And that there was the start of a very strange tradition for you two. But, you two enjoyed it nonetheless.
You ran over to the passenger side and hopped in as JJ hopped in the driver seat.
Twisting the keys into the ignition, JJ turns to you with a big grin on his face. You returned.
“Let's go, baby.” he said.
Once again, your insides turned and butterflies formed. He hadn’t called you that in years and you had to admit you missed it. The way it rolled off his tongue was so smooth and crisp, you’d remember it for ages.
The two of you drove for miles trying to find an open bar, but everything seemed to have closed early for Christmas.
“We can just go to the liquor store.” you suggested and JJ obliged, pulling into the nearest one.
JJ went in alone and picked out your guys’ favorite beer.
For the first time in a while, you were happy. That was, at least, until you looked down at your hand and saw the diamond that laid upon your ring finger. You twisted it around nervously.
Soon enough, JJ came waltzing back to the car, a six pack in hand. He gets in and immediately cracks one.
“Of course, Pabst’s Blue Ribbon.” you chuckle, cracking one along with him.
“Only the best for you.” he smiles over at you before taking another swig.
You two sat in silence for a few moments. You didn’t need to talk. Being in each other's company was enough.
This is what you and JJ used to do. You used to sit in this old rusty truck not having a care in the world. You both were just 17 sitting in the front seats doing exactly what you were doing now: a beer in one hand, and silence in the other. It reminded you of the innocence you both once carried.
JJ crushed up his now finished beer can and threw it on the floor of the backseat.
“Do you remember the first time we snuck out in this truck to go drink and your dad caught us?” JJ mentioned.
You giggled with a sigh, “How could I not?”
JJ chuckled and turned to look at you, eyes all over your body. You were so lost in the moment that you didn’t even bother to hide your wedding ring. You were looking at him when he caught sight of the ring. His eyes grew wide and confused.
“Are you- are you married?” he questioned, motioning to your ring.
You softly smiled, “Yeah, yeah I am.” You wanted to lie and say no, because sitting there with JJ brought you back to the girl that you used to be and to the girl you craved to be again.
JJ smiled, looked away, and said nothing else.
You stared at him as he looked longingly out the window. The street light shined so perfect on his golden skin and his moonstone blue eyes. You swear you could get lost in them. He was so perfect in every way a man can be. He's exactly what you wanted and what you always needed.
You two don’t know why you broke up and had a falling out. You just stopped seeing each other and that was it. No goodbye, nothing. JJ wanted to reconnect, and when he wanted to the most, it was too late. You moved clear across the state to never be heard from again.
JJ turned back to you and you took your chance. You didn’t know if you’d ever get it again.
You reached across the center console, grabbing ahold of JJ’s neck and planted a long hard kiss to his lips. He was stunned, but soon started following the motion of your lips. He pushed the center console up and you slid closer, your arms wrapping further around his neck.
This was it, this was the boy you loved and always will love.
JJ’s hands traveled all over you until they reached your waist and he quickly pulled you onto his lap. Your fingers now started tugging at the ends of his hair.
JJ’s fingers tugged at your waistband and you pulled away and climbed to the back. JJ followed, hovering over you. He quickly went back in to kiss you. Now, your fingers were tugging at his waistband.
You felt him reach down and begin to unbuckle his belt until an unfamiliar feeling washed over you. You knew this was wrong. You had a husband back at home waiting for you.
“JJ, I can't do this.” you mumbled against his lips as you slowly pulled away.
“Y/n- I’m sorry.” JJ stuttered and you quickly stopped him.
“No… no this was my fault.” you sat up, readjusting your clothes before going back to the front seat. JJ followed suit.
You both sat there in the front seat in silence for what felt like forever.
You weren’t sure what came over you. All you knew is that you still loved JJ and he still loved you.
“Want another beer?” JJ asked, holding one out to you.
You chuckled and took the now lukewarm beverage from his hand.
More minutes have gone by as you two sat in silence. Your only source of light being the iridescent street light that shined into your car.
You looked out the windshield at the snow falling and you could feel someone’s eyes on you.
Of course, it was JJ.
“These past few years have been good to you.” JJ smirked and winked your way.
“You’re not too bad yourself, J.” you smiled leaning your head back on the headrest, eyes set on his.
You were telling the truth. JJ looked the same, if not better. His denim jacket fell on his shoulders just right and his white tee was so snug that you could see the outline of his abs plain as day. His smile was even brighter than you remembered. His smile was your favorite thing about him.
“You know, I saw you at the surf shop the last summer before I moved away.” you fiddled with your fingers, looking at them nervously.
“You came to my shop?” JJ questioned.
“Every week.” you said just above a whisper.
“Why’d you never say anything?” he shifted his weight, now facing you.
“I didn't have the words, JJ. Things ended with us so abruptly, and I didn't wanna make it awkward.” you said, your voice shaking.
“Things would’ve never been awkward between us, y/n. You know it and I know it.” he said.
He reached his hand over the center console and grabbed yours, his thumb caressing your knuckles.
You nodded and looked at him, a small tear falling down your cheek.
He was right, though. Things would never be awkward between you two. You guys were it for each other. You both were in love and to be honest, you both never fell out.
Sitting in this truck, everything felt right. You felt like a kid again and, for the first time in years, you were happy. You didn’t need anyone else. JJ was everything you needed.
You pulled another beer out and handed another to JJ.
“Salude?” you toasted, holding your can in the air.
“Salude.” JJ clinked his can against yours and you both took a sip.
You two sat there for another hour or two while finishing off the beers. You shared your favorite memories together, JJ caught you up on the rest of the pogues, and you caught JJ up on your new life in your new home.
This night was perfect and you didn’t want it to end.
“I should really get to John B's house.” JJ swallowed his last sip of beer.
You laughed as you finished yours.
“Yeah, I should get to my parents.” you said.
You stared into each other’s eyes before you leaned over, cupping JJ’s face and placing a soft kiss on his lips.
You both pulled away and rested your foreheads together.
“I love you, JJ.” you whispered.
He nodded in agreement and kissed you again. This time, it was deeper and more passionate.
“Bye, y/n.” he whispers with a smile on his face.
“Bye.” you bit your lip, pulling away.
JJ got out of the truck, shutting the door behind him.
You watched him walk off as you hopped into the driver's seat.
You leaned back against the seat with your eyes closed, taking in what just happened. Was that real? Was it wrong? Did that actually happen? You weren’t quite sure, but whatever it was, it was right.
JJ walked down the snow covered street with his hands shoved in his warm pockets, his head hung high, and with a smile on his face. It was a smile he hadn’t had in a long time. And, for the first time in a while, he was happy.
He couldn’t lie though, his heart stung at the thought of this night being over. He now felt like a kid again, the familiar pain in his chest when you two ended things.
You felt it too.
Soon the snow turned into a quiet rain and you two made your ways back to where you were supposed to be hours ago.
You drove home carefully, as the roads were covered in snow and you felt a buzz.
Slowly, you pulled into your parents’ driveway. Your husband was waiting at the front door for you.
You got out of the car, grabbing your groceries from the backseat floor.
The driveway was icy and you slipped before your husband quickly made his way to you and caught you.
He wrapped you up in his warm arms as if he had lost you.
“Thank god, you’re okay.” he said pulling away, rubbing your arms in an attempt to keep you warm.
“Yeah, Rafe, I’m fine.” you smiled up at the dirty blonde haired boy. “Those roads were just a little crazy.”
That was a lie. The roads were fine. Fine enough for you to get home, at least. And, definitely fine enough for you to see JJ Maybank again.
Of course, you couldn’t tell Rafe where you had been for almost the whole night.
“Let’s get you inside.” he said. His hand reached down to the small of your back, guiding you into the brick house that was clad with white lights.
Upon entering the home, you couldn’t help but wish it was JJ you were walking through those doors with.
He was the one you had wanted to put a ring on your finger. He was the one you wanted to bring home to your parents for the holidays. He was the one you wanted to spend the rest of your life with. You wanted to grow old with him and grow gray hair with him and have him be the one you slept next to every night.
But he wasn’t.

A band of robbers targets a train in the remote desert of Arizona, sneaking on board, slashing an air hose and forcing the locomotive to come to a dead halt. Then they take the goods and flee.
No, it's not the 1800s. It's 2025.
In less than a year, at least 10 such train heists in California and Arizona have netted about $2 million worth of Nike shoes, USA TODAY has confirmed after the Los Angeles Times first reported the string of robberies. More than 60 people are being charged in federal court in connection with the 10 heists, as well as other thefts in 2023 and 2024.
The robberies work like a “human conveyor belt,” with the goods passed from the train to the ground, to a truck, according to Keith Lewis, vice president of operations at CargoNet, a private company that provides supply-chain theft intelligence to law enforcement.
“It’s done fast. It’s fast as lightning,” Lewis told the Arizona Republic, part of the USA TODAY Network, adding that the thieves like conducting the heists in isolated areas so they have time to flee. “A lot of those areas you can't get to other than with a helicopter ... You can't even get to some of those rail tracks with off-road vehicles.”
The majority of the thefts have targeted trains operated by BNSF. The company says it's working with local authorities to address the problem.
"We work hard to protect our customers' freight from pickup to delivery and have security measures in place to help ensure these goods arrive safely," BNSF said in a statement to USA TODAY on Tuesday. "We are working with federal, state, local, and tribal police departments to coordinate our approach to disrupting criminal activity and arresting offenders."
Train, ground, truck: a quick process
In multiple affidavits submitted in federal court filings and obtained by USA TODAY, Homeland Security Investigations special agent Brynna Cooke describes how the heists are done.
Robbers scout containers to identify those that could have valuable cargo like Nike shoes and electronics, Cooke says.
They usually board trains in staging areas before they begin rolling. Then while the train is moving, they move from container to container, opening them with saws and bolt-cutters.
When they find something worth stealing, they’ll often force the train to stop by cutting the braking system air hose, causing it to “go into an emergency stop.” According to Cooke, once the train comes to a halt, box trucks are sent in to unload the merchandise and flee.
Lewis has seen the process firsthand.
“I've watched them through binoculars,” he told the Republic. “I just couldn't get there in time.”
Jan 13: More than $400,000 in shoes are stolen in Arizona
One of the most recent train thefts happened on Jan. 13 in northern Arizona, when police arrested 11 people in connection with the robbery of Nike shoes from a BNSF train in a remote area outside of Williams, some 170 miles north of Phoenix, according to court records obtained by USA TODAY.
Robbers who were on board the train cut its air hose around 11 a.m., causing the train to automatically go into an emergency stop.
Shortly after the thieves cut the Arizona train's air hose on Jan. 13, a BNSF police officer who was in the area spotted several cases of Nike shoes beside the train and later saw several people loading Nike cases into a U-Haul truck and a Ford Econoline truck nearby.
There were trackers inside some of the boxes that authorities then used to conduct a traffic stop on the van, court records say. When authorities later searched both trucks, they found 1,985 pairs of unreleased Nike shoes worth over $440,000, according to court records.
The shoes targeted were a new Air Jordan 4 style, a striking red-orange collaboration with BMX athlete Nigel Sylvester, dubbed “Bike Air.” When they go on sale in the spring, they will retail for $225.
But not all train heists end in arrests. When thieves cut air hoses in remote areas, conductors and engineers are stranded along with the disabled train. Ill-equipped to stop a robbery, they can’t do much beyond call 911.
“I've had conductors telling me that they actually watched them unload it," Lewis told the Republic. "But by policy they can't confront them because they're not armed, and the bad guys could be armed."
Jan: 10, $18,000 in shoes are stolen
In Southern California, two suspects are accused of stealing about $18,000 worth of merchandise in a remote area known as the Wonder Valley. According to a news release from the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department, BNSF Police contacted authorities for help.
Police said they were notified that several suspects were robbing a train. On the way to the scene, police said they saw a box truck driving in the area.
“Deputies conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle and, through investigation, located approximately $18,000 in stolen items inside the truck,” police said.
Two men, 28-year-old Oscar Sosa of Apple Valley, California, and 45-year-old Jose Villalobos-Infante of Phoenix, were arrested in connection to the robbery. They've since been charged with second-degree burglary, grand theft and conspiracy, according to the Hi-Desert Star.
USA TODAY was not able to immediately find attorneys representing the men.
Jan: 15, $400,000 in shoes are stolen again
Only two days after the Arizona heist and five days after the robbery in San Bernardino County, robbers allegedly targeted a train in the same area of California.
According to a news release from police, BNSF Railroad police notified the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department of a train robbery. Deputies again spotted a white van leaving the area.
"However, the vehicle failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued," a sheriff's department statement said. "The vehicle became disabled on a dirt berm, two occupants fled, and a foot pursuit ensued."
Two teenagers, whose names have not been released, were arrested in connection with the robbery. Police said they were able to recover 218 cases of Nike shoes valued at about $408,000.
Police have identified possible “ringleader”
According to federal court records, a man identified as Felipe Avalos-Mejia is alleged to be the ringleader of some of the train heists, operating out of Phoenix and Los Angeles.
Investigators say that Avalos Mejia had a network of scouts who helped him select trains to target. Investigators also said Avalos-Mejia provided cars and paid burglary crews to rob the trains.
Police raided 11 homes and 16 storage units connected to Avalos-Mejia in June, arresting 43 suspects and recovering $3 million in merchandise believed to have been stolen from BNSF trains.
Avalos-Mejia was arrested one day later on June 21. Court documents say police found $120,000 in cash, as well as a "detailed ledger that listed Nike and other merchandise that is typically burglarized from BNSF trains, as well as dollar amounts detailing what the merchandise is worth and for what it is sold."
Avaloz-Mejia's attorney declined USA TODAY's request for comment on Tuesday.
