#DailyDevotion Fear & Trust The LORD. He Will Be Your Shield & Bless You Psalm 115 9(Leader:) Israel, trust the LORD. (Choir:) He helps and shields them. 10(Leader:) Aaron's family, trust the LORD. (Choir:) He helps and shields them. 11(Leader:) You who fear the LORD, trust the LORD. (Choir:) He helps and shields them. 12(Leader:) The LORD has been thinking of us and He will bless us. (Choir:) He will bless Israel's family; He will bless Aaron's family; 13He will bless those who fear the LORD, small and great. Having given glory to the name of the LORD and knocking off the false gods of the pagans, the Psalm goes into a responsive section of praise to the LORD. Note, the “leader/choir” insertions here are an editorial addition that commentaries recognize to be there. So one calls out, “|Israel, trust the LORD” and the response is, “He helps and shields them.” This indeed is a confession of the past actions of the LORD. When Israel did trust the LORD, He made sure their enemies did not get the upper hand over them. Mind you, the witness of the Scriptures is they rarely did trust the LORD wholeheartedly and therefore were constantly given over to their neighbors, whom God used to punish them. Aaron's family is called to trust the LORD. They were the sub-tribe of Levi who were called to be the priest of Israel who offered up sacrifices and served the LORD at His temple. They also acted as judges in Israel at times. The LORD was their inheritance and they were to trust Him in all their duties that He would take care of them. A cry out to those who trust the LORD that He will shield them. Here is a general cry of praise and encouragement to those who put their trust in Him that He would help and shield them. It speaks to us, does it not? We who put our trust in the LORD Jesus Christ, we have His promise, “He will never leave us or forsake us.” (Heb. 13) The closing section calls all those who have been invoked here to know, “The LORD has been thinking of us and He will bless us.” He does not ignore us or our plights. He knows exactly what we are going through and thinks about us. He thinks about what is the best way for Him to bless us and take care of us in order to carry that out given all the circumstances. We know if we ask for a fish, an egg or a loaf of bread, He is not going to give us a serpent, a scorpion or a rock. He is going to give us His Holy Spirit. We can be certain He is going to bless us. 14The LORD will cause you and your children to increase. 15You will be blessed by the LORD Who made heaven and earth. 16The highest heaven belongs to the LORD, but the earth He gave to men. 17The dead can't praise the LORD or any who go down to silence. 18But we will bless the LORD from now on and forever. Praise the LORD! The LORD blesses us and humanity in general. He causes us to have our children increase. The LORD blesses us from the highest heavens and gives the earth to us. Jesus said, “The meek shall inherit the earth.” We can live without fear if we seem to lack something in this age. We have the promise of being co-heirs with Christ of the new heavens and new earth along with inheriting God. On the one hand it seems to say the dead can't praise the LORD. Then it says, we will bless the LORD from now and forever. The dead I believe are those who are spiritually dead. We have been given eternal life when we have faith in Jesus and the Holy Spirit. These are the two classes of people at the Last Judgment. Adam died the day he ate the fruit. Everyone made in his image are dead. Jesus rose from the dead and gives His life to those who trust in Him. They don't die. Heavenly Father, may we always trust You, so we may always have the life of Your Son, Jesus Christ so we may praise You forever, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen. Read the full article

#jesus #plan #trustthelord #god Sometimes, we think we need to make a huge change or do something dramatic. But many times, all we have to do is take one step at a time. Sometimes, we try to take every step on our own, and forget that the Lord is the one who establishes our steps in the first place. Proverbs 16:9, "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." When we walk with Jesus daily, it changes the way we live, how we make decisions, and ultimately how we love others around US. God is writing our stories in a beautiful way, but sometimes we can miss it. Even if we do, he is faithful. Seasons change, people change, but Jesus remains the same. Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." It doesn't mean life will always be easy; life will always have ups and downs. What it does mean is that following JESUS is worth it 'Every Step of the Way' So what is it that you ultimately need to surrender to the Lord today? Where is it that you need to trust him every step of the way? Is it finances, relationships, anxiety, depression, fear of the unknown, disappointments, physical pain? Whatever it is, give it to GOD, and know that he is - and always will be - faithful. REFLECTION • Take a moment to be still. Write down what you need to surrender to God, in order to freely walk step by step with Him. • Put what you wrote down in a place where you will see it every day, and make a commitment to read it every day as well. • Then let this be a reminder that you can go to God, and that he can help you let go of the past. Trust God with your future, and in every step that you take. "God, I surrender my fears, failures, and everything in between to you. The Lord is so good! Our addition on our house was finally finished and it is so much more than we expected. At first I thought the contractors were just going to add one room, but they added a second floor to our house! It doesn't cover the entire length of the house, but we now have an additional two bedrooms and one more bathroom. I feel so blessed 🙏 I gave the contractors some simTerra samples as a tip 😄

Although the rooms are small, I pray we won't need any more updates to the house for a little while.

(A/N: I'm not much of a builder so I know this house looks uneven now but I couldn't be bothered to build an entire second floor 😅)

Diana had been sleeping in our treadmill/office area, so we decided to let her move into one of these bigger rooms. I am so grateful for her everyday and her willingness to be a godly helpmeet! I will be so sad when the Lord allows her to meet the perfect husband.

We decided to also move Zofiya upstairs. For now, Yvie is going to stay downstairs in the nursery, but once she's older she'll share a room with Zo again.

PART 1 #newyear #newpage #jesus #trustthelord New year, new page to turn. But how do we go about doing that. Let’s look at a person who was introduced to new beginnings & second chances: Moses. Moses had been raised as a prince of Egypt but was actually an Israelite. The Israelites were slaves under Egypt’s rule. Moses, out of anger of seeing his brethren mistreated, killed an Egyptian guard. This led to consequences for the Israelites who got angry at Moses. Moses, in shame & fear, ran away to another country. He started a family, became a shepherd, and remained in the wilderness. Then one day, he saw a burning bush. Moses responded to the burning bush. The Lord introduces Himself & tells Moses His intention of delivering His people. He then commands Moses to go to Pharoah & bring His people out of Egypt. Even after Moses screwed up by killing an Egyptian, God was not done with him. God still had plans for him. From this we learn that EVEN IF we r stuck in the wilderness of the past, God STILL HAS A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE. You would think after hearing such an inspirational message, Moses would sit up and get right to it. Not even close. Moses expressed doubt in himself & in God’s choice. We do the same thing today. When God speaks to us about His plans, we tend to doubt ourselves & experience insecurity. God reminded Moses that’s it’s not about who you are, it’s about Who God is. He tells Moses that he is NOT alone. He is saying you can turn the page because GOD IS WITH YOU. However, Moses still wasn’t convinced. He ended up going back & forth with God (the Audacity). He kept asking what ifs that revealed his fear of rejection. Fear of rejection is a fear we all can relate to. God answered Moses in the form of an object lesson. God had Moses demonstrate the miracle of turning a staff into a snake & turning the snake back into a staff. God can use you to do the supernatural. When you obey God, God’s power is revealed in you.
