Timmy's hands automatically closed around the immaculately-wrapped box that Remy shoved towards him. He turned it over, frowning. "What is it?"

"Are you daft? Surely you've seen a box before, Turner," Remy said with a practiced sneer.

For some reason, his insults didn't seem to perturb Timmy the way that they used to. Timmy ignored the insult, holding the small box up to his ear and giving it a shake. Remy found himself noticing the furrow between Timmy's brows that always appeared when he was concentrating on something.

"Yeah, but what's the occasion? Are you seriously giving me a gift for no reason?" Timmy asked teasingly.

Remy bristled. "It's not a gift! It's just a— box," he said lamely, deflating as a frustrated, pink tint dusted across his cheeks.
