a vision of shadows is special 2 me i read it in middle school i loved twig so much when i thought she was gonna die at that one part i skipped ahead the entire book just to see if she lived I SPOILED MYSELF FOR THIS CAT!!!!!!!!!!!! i was one of those people hoping their name would be twigshade but twigbranch is SO MUCH BETTER ITS PERFECT when twigstar is real (it better happen. IT BETTER) the only thing i will be sad about is branch being gone.............oh yeah and violetshine is cool

AVOS but:

- establish that both Thunderclan and Shadowclan have been pushing their youths too much in a careless sort of manner, ignoring their well-being and having the “because I’m the adult you have to listen to me” attitude. One or two apprentices have died because of this (the older cats consider it a freak accident, when it might be something like the apprentice being pushed to fight a badger when not ready)

- Sparkpaw and Alderpaw share the telepathy thing Sqiuirrelfight and Leafpool did

- Sparkpaw has the visions, but doesn’t want to be a medicine cat. Pushes her anxious brother to claim the visions as his instead.

- Sandstorm dies on the quest to find Skyclan. Causing Alderpaw tons of guilt when he can’t save her nor connect to Starclan for guidance. Ends up receiving guidance through his sister

- Needlepaw and Alderpaw find Twigkit and Violetkit. They, and the rest of the apprentices in Shadowclan and Thunderclan, are appalled by the treatment of the kits being separated. This is the Final Straw.

- Timeskip stuff including: Warrior names, medicine cat name, Sparkpelt feeling guilty about forcing Alderheart to be a medicine cat after seeing how good of a dad he’d be, Alderheart having emotional roller coaster when he realizes he could’ve been a dad, but actually enjoys being a medicine cat.

- Darktail shows up and the youth are happy to have someone who’s finally listening to them.

- things go bad when Darktail makes a mess of Shadowclan and gains a large group of cats

- things go even worse when said large group of cats trap Thunderclan in their camp.

- Darktail and his kin take over Thunderclan and thin out the numbers there.

- Sparkpelt and Twigpaw (her apprentice) escape thanks to the help of a Kin member known as Lark.

- Alderheart, Needletail, and Violetpaw are trapped in Thunderclan camp.

- Sparkpelt, Twigpaw, and Lark journey to find Skyclan for help. They find Pebbleshine alive! (But maybe missing a leg) she’s frantic about losing her kits, but then Twigpaw gets to meet her mom!! Pebbleshine helps them with finding Skyclan again.

- Needtail dies when helping Alderheart and Violetpaw to escape.

- things occur?? Sparkpelt brings Skyclan back, everyone fights Darktail and he dies

- Skyclan is at home in the Thunderclan camp, meanwhile Thunderclan opts to move their camp to the new camp area where the escaped cats were hiding. Because it’s more like their original Forest camp.

- Hawkwing gets his wife and kids back

- Tree also helped Pebbleshine, Lark, Sparkpelt, and Twigpaw find Skyclan

- Thunderclan’s numbers are thinned out plus it makes more sense story wise to have Darktail attack Thunderclan to get back at his dad, Onestar, having told stories about his close friend from Thunderclan. Trying to get Onestar to react.

- Hawkwing kills Darktail instead of Onestar. Onestar just dies like a loser

- Violetpaw still aids with the undercover stuff and everything. She gets her Warrior name of Violetshine and meets Tree

- Twigpaw gets to be Twigshade

- Sparkpelt receives a new Warrior name of Sparkfire, in honor of her being like Firestar and she is thrilled (hence why the whole Flamepaw thing is a big deal later down the line)

- Lark becomes Larksong and joins Thunderclan

- Lark was originally a loner or kittypet who heard the stories about the clans, when he met Darktail he thought he finally had his chance to be part of a real clan. Only to discover that Nope this isn’t right. So he betrays Darktail and falls in love with Sparkfire

- Alderheart and Puddleshine bond at some point and perhaps fall in love, Alderheart realizes he could never have a normal relationship and at least by being a medicine cat he can see Puddleshine every half moon.

- Sparkfire and Alderheart keep their secret of where the visions come from. Maybe at some point Alderheart starts to receive visions and the telepathy between him and his sister go away, as a cost for Alderheart to gain a connection to Starclan he loses his connection to his sister

I’ve been meaning to ask: Do you plan on changing Twigbranch’s name? And this is coming from someone who unironically likes the name Twinbranch (it’s so silly), but I do believe that the name Twigshade would have been so much better. With it matching with her sister, Violetshine.

I love Twigshade that is so fun... I always liked the idea of Twigsnap too its just cute, I haven't read her books so idk if snap works for her character or not tho :P

BTW! I'm not going to rewrite AVoS's plot, RoC will end at OotS! I do like coming up with ideas for how things go post RoC's finale tho hehe

What's your opinion on traditional naming? I don't think I've seen you change many names of the characters.

I don’t really have an opinion on it. I just find it makes my stuff more approachable for viewers for me to not change names, though I do change some I’m particularly not fond of. Off the top of my head, the names I’ve changed for major characters are just Twigbranch into Twigshade and Sparkpelt into Sparkfire.

Fernsong and Sorrelstripe were changed to Bramblesong and Leafstripe respectively, but that’s because I change honor names to reflect the story changes. In this case they’re named after Brambleclaw and Leafpool who died in the Great Battle. Other honor names I’ve changed include Graykit into Tigerkit, Rowankit into Juniperkit, and Birchkit into Alderkit.

I do like plenty of name changes people have done though, and I consider changing Bluefur’s name a lot, but overall I don’t mind a lot of warrior cats names that get called boring, like Cinderpelt and Brackenfur for instance.

Twigbranch is a dumb name so I changed it in Revisionist to Twigshade, in homage to her sister.

Little TwigBranch that's also from my AVoS rewrite. Her original name (Given to her by The Kin), was TwigShade, but she felt that it didn't suit her, and she came up with TwigBranch, alongside an equally silly reason for the name change. She finally got to change it when The Kin fell apart

I love a silly name, but BOY do I dislike a redundant one. Twigbranch is one of the names I would have changed if I did renamings for my rewrite, or at least let her achieve an honor title to become Twigshade.
