i'm actually surprised people are complaining that "the hotel isn't important" cause i always felt like it was just a means to get the characters together and the plot going

#like how david lynch was surprised people even cared ab out the murder in twin peaks #cause he just had it be there so he could get coop into town #hazbin hotel #like yeah it'd probably be great to be more gradually paced but that's just not an option now #cartoons get canned at the drop of a hat #you're barely guaranteed one season #can't actually pace things slower because you might get cut off with zero resolution

completely unsurprising that Sam Lake loves Twin Peaks: The Return and how it involved Cooper

#when watching play throughs of alan wake 2 it was the season of tv that kept coming to mind #and the entire atmosphere - the way it changes style and plays around with mediums - Mr. C/Dougie/Cooper and Scratch/alan/zane #the list could go on forever #I have more complicated feelings on twin peaks the return tbh #I REALLY enjoy parts of it and I’ve seen the entire thing twice #but had a lot of criticisms too. still annoyed that Tammy was this investigator for the official book #then in the show one of her only scenes is an ass shot with David Lynch and Agent Rosenfield checking her out #i love the inspirations Alan wake 2 took from it but I also love how remedy made its own rich story #(and imo did certain things better)#alan wake 2 #sam lake #twin peaks #this info is from his recent interview with Games Now! on twitch btw

Season 5 of The Dragon Prince

I just binged all the episodes last night and I definitely enjoyed this season more than the last. I haven’t had time to really process it all but here are two totally random thoughts that occurred while I was watching:

Is it just me, or does Finnegrin look a lot like Clark Gable (old time movie star for the many people way younger than me):

Also, that crazy vision Viren had with Sir Sparklepuff dancing to creepy jazz music in a red room with everyone talking backwards was straight out of Twin Peaks:
