Commercial Security Solutions for Businesses That Prioritize Safety
In today’s unpredictable business environment, safety and protection are no longer optional — they’re essential. Whether you're operating a retail store, office building, warehouse, or large enterprise, investing in comprehensive commercial security solutions is one of the smartest decisions you can make. These systems not only deter threats but also build confidence among employees, customers, and stakeholders.
Tumblr media
Modern commercial security is more than just installing cameras or hiring guards. It involves a strategic blend of physical security, smart technologies, access control systems, and professional surveillance that work in harmony to protect your assets and people. Let’s explore the best commercial security strategies that help businesses thrive in a secure and efficient environment.
The Growing Importance of Security in Business Operations
Security threats are on the rise. From theft and vandalism to cybercrime and internal fraud, businesses of all sizes are vulnerable. A robust commercial security setup acts as a protective barrier, shielding your business from potential harm while also promoting a sense of stability and trust.
Clients, employees, and partners are more likely to engage with businesses that prioritize safety. In competitive markets, security becomes a key differentiator. Companies that proactively address security concerns are better positioned to grow and retain their clientele while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Physical Security: The First Line of Defense
Physical security refers to the tangible barriers and measures you put in place to protect your property. These include hiring trained security guards, installing surveillance systems, using reinforced doors, and implementing motion-activated lighting. These visible deterrents make it harder for criminals to strike undetected.
Security guards also play a crucial role in deterring unwanted behavior and responding quickly to threats. Their presence alone is often enough to prevent criminal activity. When paired with other physical measures like perimeter fencing and alarm systems, your business becomes significantly harder to target.
Surveillance Systems and Real-Time Monitoring
CCTV cameras are the cornerstone of any effective commercial security system. Strategically placed surveillance cameras provide 24/7 coverage of your business premises. They act as both a deterrent and a tool for gathering evidence in case of an incident.
In today’s digital age, modern surveillance systems offer real-time monitoring with features like remote access, night vision, motion detection, and cloud storage. Business owners and security teams can keep an eye on the premises from anywhere, allowing for swift action if anything suspicious occurs. This level of vigilance significantly reduces the risk of loss or damage.
Access Control and Visitor Management
Controlling who enters and exits your facility is a critical component of commercial security. Access control systems, such as keycards, biometric scanners, and PIN-based entry points, ensure that only authorized individuals can access specific areas of your business.
Visitor management systems complement access control by tracking and documenting guests. They generate visitor logs, issue ID badges, and flag unauthorized attempts. By maintaining strict control over access points, businesses can prevent intrusions, theft, and other security breaches, especially in sensitive or high-value departments.
Integrating Technology for Enhanced Protection
Advancements in technology have transformed how businesses manage security. Smart sensors, AI-powered cameras, automated alerts, and integrated security dashboards allow for smarter decision-making and faster response times. These tools provide a layered and proactive approach to commercial security.
For example, integrated systems can connect surveillance, fire alarms, and access control into a single interface. This holistic security view allows businesses to react to threats in real time, automate lockdowns, or notify emergency responders without delay. As threats become more sophisticated, so must the tools used to combat them.
Employee Training and Internal Security Measures
Technology and physical infrastructure aren’t enough — human awareness is equally vital. Security-conscious businesses train their employees to recognize suspicious behavior, follow safety protocols, and respond appropriately in emergency situations. This ensures that every team member becomes part of the security solution.
Internal threats, such as data leaks or asset theft, often go unnoticed in businesses that don’t prioritize staff training. By developing a culture of awareness and responsibility, organizations can prevent both accidental and deliberate breaches. Establishing clear security policies and conducting routine drills also fosters a safe, compliant workplace.
Tailored Solutions for Every Industry
Every business is unique — and so are its security needs. Retail stores, for example, require loss prevention strategies, while warehouses might need perimeter fencing and vehicle access control. Healthcare facilities must protect patient data and control drug storage, while corporate offices prioritize employee safety and data security.
Commercial security providers offer customized solutions to suit specific industries. These tailored services ensure that you’re not overpaying for unnecessary features or under-protected in critical areas. Partnering with a security firm that understands your business type ensures your plan evolves as your risks and infrastructure grow.
youtube
Conclusion: Why Smart Security is Smart Business
Businesses that invest in commercial security are doing more than protecting their premises — they are building a foundation of trust, professionalism, and resilience. In today’s high-risk environment, security is a non-negotiable element of success. A breach doesn’t just cause financial damage — it erodes reputation, disrupts operations, and affects long-term viability.
The right commercial security strategy blends advanced technology, trained personnel, and thoughtful protocols into one seamless system. Whether you're guarding physical assets, protecting sensitive data, or ensuring employee safety, comprehensive security gives you peace of mind and a competitive edge.
If you truly prioritize safety, it's time to treat commercial security as an investment — not an expense. The long-term savings, reduced liabilities, improved employee morale, and stronger client relationships all contribute to a more successful and sustainable business. Take the first step today toward a safer future for your company.

hiccup haddock iii x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
request: EEEJDHJS your writing ALWAYS has me giggling and kicking my feet LIKE ACKSJSS MWAH /p I wanted to try and request a HTTYD oneshot on where us and the gang are on a mission and fighting off dragon hunters as usual BUT hiccup finally witness us being a total badass since we never like to team up with anyone and be alone and stuff and he’s like ‘wow, that’s a hot badass woman right there on the spot-‘ and we get hurt in the process but still carry on and hiccup takes care of us after.🤭 You can choose the dragon species if you want! AKDNDJ YOU CAN TAKE YOUR TIME WITH THIS💕
a/n: thank you for your request. i had a lot of fun with this one. let me know if you like it!
Tumblr media
It was supposed to be an easy mission. A simple raid. Go in, release the dragons, and get out. But as always, your friends had a knack for a dramatic entrance.
Hiccup had gone first, the rest waiting for his signal to prance out of the shadows. You, hidden in plain sight, watched along with your dragon as a guard seemed to take notice of Hiccup's presence. He squinted his eyes, trying to make out what exactly it was he was seeing amidst the fog. He drew his lantern closer, but there was no need to, as not a moment later Hiccup’s blade ignited, giving his faint outline now more visibility.
“What are you?” the guard asked, his voice trembling slightly.
Hiccup, ever so dramatically, placed his finger near his mouth and shushed the guard. You couldn’t help but roll your eyes.
Apparently, that had been Toothless’s signal to make himself known. A deep growl came from behind the guard, and his bioluminescent scales showed the small man exactly what he was up against.
Before things could get any worse for him, he decided to enact his attack on Hiccup. Forcefully thrusting his spear to him. Your boyfriend managed to evade his maneuver easily and unarmed the man without much effort.
In a panic, the guard threw his lantern at him, making it shatter completely against his suit. Fire consuming the wood beneath his feet and catching on to his suit.
“You dumbass,” you muttered to yourself as you secured your helmet, ready to come in at any given moment.
“He does love a dramatic entrance,” Valka whispered, perched next to you as you both watched him walk theatrically amongst the flames with Toothless by his side. “A demon!” the guard screamed.
Hiccup’s confident demeanor promptly fell as he started hushing the guard. “No, no! I’m not a demon” he whispered frantically. “I’m not a demon”
As he said so, he removed his helmet and the ash-cloth that had been previously covering his mouth and nose. “See! Just a guy!”
The guard did not seem appeased by this and frantically tried to scurry away as Hiccup persecuted him. “Just a guy!” he repeated. “Here to rescue these dragons,” he gestured towards the iron cages all around the ship.
“You walked through fire!” he screamed at him, now sweaty from a mixture of the heat and his nerves.
“Dragon scales!” Hiccup explained reassuringly. “Dragons shed a lot.”
“Oh I know a demon when I see one!” the stubborn man continued to scream as he stumbled backwards.
From your vantage point you saw a large shadow appear from behind him. It took no time to realize that it was Snotlout with a dramatic entrance of his own. Hookfang was completely on fire, as the guard kept on mumbling about how those were not human legs.
“You might want to get in there soon,” Valka chuckled next to you as you adjusted the saddle on your dragon. You hummed in agreement as you heard Snotlout chant about how he made a better entrance before setting himself on fire.
“I knew it!” the guard yelled. “More demons!” as Snotlout ran around in pain, trying to put out the fire eating his suit from behind.
“That’s really just a nitwit,” Hiccup sighed. “Forgot to fireproof his butt-”
“Behold!” another voice came from the darkness. Ruff and Tuff.
“Your worst nightmare!” Tuffnut called out as their two-headed dragon lowered its head, setting them down on the floor of the ship.
“Behold-” Ruffnut echoed.
“Along with his sister who insisted on coming!” he interrupted her.
“That’s my introduction?!” she whined.
Not a moment too soon, Astrid swept in, her dragon’s mouth filled with water as she spit it out all over Snotlout, effectively extinguishing the fire he had been spreading.
“Gross!” the boy cried out as he stared down at himself.
“Too soon guys! You always come in too soon-” Hiccup called out to the twins, interrupted by Fishlegs clumsily tumbling down towards the dack and crash-landing.
“Again with the baby?” Astrid asked as she expertly dismounted Stormfly and joined them.
“Sorry, she’s still getting the hang of her wings,” the chubby boy replied as a baby Gronkle perused around the ship clumsily.
“This is a raid,” Hiccup complained. “Find a sitter.”
Amongst all the chaos, the guard had been promptly forgotten. He hid away in the shadows, trying to go unnoticed. However you wouldn’t allow that. You swept in, your dragon grabbing his head with their claws and slamming it against one of the metal cages.
You heard your name being called, relief evident in Hiccup's voice. “I had him right where I wanted him,” he chuckled as he approached you, whilst contracting his fire blade.
You stretched your back and rolled your neck. “And now he’s right where I wanted him!” you replied cheerily. “Let’s get to work,” you said as you patted his shoulder.
He couldn’t help but to look at you with admiration for a second.
“Okay, we screw that up. But at least no one else knows we’re here,” he said, signaling instructions to the riders on which direction to take.
Just as the words left his mouth, alarms blared through the ship, and from the shadows, more men emerged, weapons drawn.
“Spoke too soon,” you muttered, already reaching for your weapon.
Toothless, right on cue, appeared at Hiccup's side just as he unsheathed his sword.
“Get the dragons out of here!” he ordered and you immediately jumped to action.
You wasted no time and with a running start you planted your staff into a broken railing, using it as a lever to launch yourself into the air. The momentum sent you soaring high above the fight, twisting midair as you aimed for the largest group of hunters.
You came down like thunder. Your staff crashed into the nearest hunter’s head, knocking him out cold before you spun, striking another square in the gut. As they stumbled, you twisted, taking the opportunity to open the cages.
With no time to lose you slid the iron bar containing the dragons, swiftly jumping on to the next cage.
The freed dragons wasted no time. A Monstrous Nightmare burst from its cage in a ball of fire, sending hunters scrambling. A Gronckle barreled forward, knocking the guards aside like ragdolls.
It was a dance-like trance the way you skillfully made your way through the chaos. No change in your expression and every movement perfectly calculated. To Hiccup it would always be wonderful looking at you in that state. It was beautiful and dangerous.
“You can gawk later,” you chimed in, breaking him out of his trance as you forced the blunt end of your staff upon the head of a man who fully intended to beat Hiccup to a pulp.
“You promise?,” he replied with a grin as he stepped over the man’s unconscious body and swung an arm around you while you walked away.
“Duck,” you said. He immediately obeyed as you swung on your staff and kicked a guard who had been sneaking up on you.
“You bitch!” he groaned in pain.
“Hey, apologize to the lady!” Hiccup said as he discarded the used oil cartridge in his sword and put in another one. “Geez, people nowadays,” you mumbled as you opened yet another cage, setting the dragon free.
Just in time, Toothless came down the ship, persecuting a group of hunters. Hiccup cut their path, his sword ablaze.
The terrified men looked for any way out of their current predicament and took a sharp left, walkin in the cage you had just opened. With a swift swing of his tail, Toothless closed it shut.
“Thank you,” Hiccup said as he rubbed the dragon’s snout. “Now go get the rest bud.” Obediently, he jumped up onto the cages and like a cat, disappeared into the shadows.
“I thought this was supposed to be a stealth mission,” you said as you geared up once again, standing next to Hiccup.
“Yeah, they always start that way.”
Just as Hiccup was about to signal the retreat, a hunter lunged from the shadows, aiming straight for you. Reacting quickly, you spun on your heel, staff meeting his weapon with a sharp clang. You knocked him back, but before you could finish him off, Hiccup’s sword swung in from the side, cutting through the air and forcing the hunter to retreat.
“We’ve got all the dragons!” Astrid called over the chaos. “We need to move out!”
“Everyone, back to the sky!” Hiccup commanded, swinging onto Toothless. The gang obeyed, dragons lifting off one by one. You turned to follow, but just as you took a step, something heavy wrapped around your ankle.
A chain.
Before you could react, the hunter yanked hard. Pain shot through your leg as you were ripped from your feet and slammed into the deck. A sickening crack echoed through the air.
Your vision blurred, but you forced yourself up, adrenaline pushing past the pain. The hunter sneered, stepping closer. “Not so tough now, are you?”
You gritted your teeth, shifting your weight despite the searing pain in your foot. Your staff spun in your hands, and with a desperate swing, you aimed for his legs. He stumbled, giving you just enough time to struggle against the chain.
You tried to stand but immediately came tumbling down, as your foot would not allow your whole weight to rest on it. You screamed out in pain, trying to claw your way to the ledge of the ship. Your dragon made its way to you, trying to help you up, but with the thick chain still wrapped around your foot, their wallows and struggles were in vain.
You barely registered your name being called out, followed by a dropping figure from the sky -Hiccup.
“Get out of here!” you screamed as you tried to stand once again. Your breaths came heavy, hands shaking from the pain, but you refused to stay down.
With one final strike, Hiccup sent the hunter sprawling. He rushed to you, eyes wide with panic. “Are you okay?”
You were about to give him a response, but instead, a pained groan came out of your throat.
Without hesitation, Hiccup scooped you up into his arms and leapt onto Toothless. “I’ll take care of her,” he said to your dragon who had refused to leave your side. “Go!”
With hesitant eyes, and after a brief moment, they leaped into the air, joining the rest of the ridders.
As Toothless carried you both home, the wind rushed past, cooling your skin. You groaned, shifting slightly in Hiccup’s arms.
“Are you okay?”
You winced. “Broke my foot. But I’ll live.”
“That hunter was an absolute bastard. I swear, if I see him again—”
Hiccup chuckled. “You mean if you hobble over to him?”
You scowled. “I had it handled.”
“You were on the ground.”
“Temporarily.”
He laughed again, shaking his head. “You are something else.”
By the time you reached Berk, the pain had settled in, and Hiccup wasted no time getting you back to his hut. He set you down carefully, grabbing a cloth and some water as he examined your foot.
“You’re terrible at taking it easy,” he muttered, wrapping the injury with careful hands.
You smirked through the discomfort. “You’re terrible at stealth missions.”
He sighed, shaking his head, but there was something fond in his expression. “Just… let me take care of you for once, alright?”
For once, you didn’t argue.

I know you're just an average security employee but would you say a lot of security guards are military veterans?
Not at my level, they’d be way overqualified- any ex-military folks in Security I’ve met have been at LEAST district supervisors pretty damn quick, or they work for hands-on or armed guard type positions. I’m unarmed and hands-off, so it’s relatively boring, but I appreciate the clear structure and chain of command, and I imagine that’d be a good draw for anyone who’s left the military and is looking for something similar but less stifling and risky. All the military guys I’ve met here so far have been super kind and easygoing, good with people, pretty much never got worked up about stupid crap. Exactly who I want staying chill on my shift. I imagine it must be cause they’re used to way stricter environments with WAY bigger shitheads breathing down their necks. It seems most of them are SUPER salty about their service time too, so it’s fun to hear them talk

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. — U.S. Constitution Second Amendment
The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age... — 10 U.S. Code § 246
Patrick Henry
* “Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.”
George Mason
* “To disarm the people…[i]s the most effectual way to enslave them.”
James Madison
* “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country.”
* “The ultimate authority, wherever the derivative may be found, resides in the people alone.”
Noah Webster
* “Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States.”
Samuel Adams
* “The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.”
Richard Henry Lee
* “A militia when properly formed are in fact the people themselves…and include, according to the past and general usuage of the states, all men capable of bearing arms… “To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.”
Thomas Jefferson
* “I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.”
* “What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.
* “The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes…. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
* “The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.”
**********************************
No emergency justifies the violation of any of the provisions of the United States Constitution.
----------------------------------------------
Ex parte Milligan, 71 U.S. 2 (1866) which yet stands to this day: "The Constitution of the United States is a law for rulers and people, equally in war and in peace, and covers with the shield of its protection all classes of men, at all times, and under all circumstances. No doctrine, involving more pernicious consequences, was ever invented by the wit of man than that any of its provisions can be suspended during any of the great exigencies of government. Such a doctrine leads directly to anarchy or despotism..."
----------------------------------------------
Volume 16, American Jurisprudence 2d, § 52: “It is sometimes argued that the existence of an emergency allows the existence and operation of powers, national or state, which violate the inhibitions of the Federal Constitution. The rule is quite otherwise.
No emergency justifies the violation of any of the provisions of the United States Constitution. An emergency, however, while it cannot create power, increase granted power, or remove or diminish the restrictions imposed upon power granted or reserved, may furnish the occasion for the exercise of power already in existence, but not exercised except during an emergency... The Constitution of the United States is the law for rulers and people, equally in war and in peace, and covers with the shield of its protection all classes of men, at all times, and under all circumstances”
----------------------------------------------
Volume 16, American Jurisprudence 2d, § 177: "The general misconception is that any statute passed by legislators bearing the appearance of law constitutes the law of the land. The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and any statue, to be valid, must be in agreement.
It is impossible for both the Constitution and a law violating it to be valid; one must prevail. This is succinctly stated as follows: The general rule is that an unconstitutional statute, though having the form and name of law, is in reality no law, but is wholly void, and ineffective for any purpose; since unconstitutionality dates from the time of its enactment, and not merely from the date of the decision so branding it.
An unconstitutional law, in legal contemplation, is as inoperative as if it had never been passed. Such a statute leaves the question that it purports to settle just as it would be had the statute not been enacted.
Since an unconstitutional law is void, the general principals follow that it imposes no duties, confers no rights, creates no office, bestows no power or authority on anyone, affords no protection, and justifies no acts performed under it... A void act cannot be legally consistent with a valid one. An unconstitutional law cannot operate to supersede any existing valid law. Indeed, insofar as a statute runs counter to the fundamental law of the land, it superseded thereby. No one is bound to obey an unconstitutional law and no courts are bound to enforce it."
----------------------------------------------
“All laws, rules and practices which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void ...if any statement within any law which is passed is unconstitutional, the whole law is unconstitutional.” Marbury v. Madison, 5th U.S. 2 Cranch 137, 180.
----------------------------------------------
"Even a state of war and the declaration of secession by the people cannot suspend the Constitution or remove its protection." Houston County v Martin, 232 Ala 511, 169 So. 13.

sorry to barge in but i saw your tags on the doomguy post… he was cranking his shit on the job? canonically?
Yeah I can't seem to find it online, but in the original doom game pamphlet it mentions 2 canonical facts about him - that he was dishonorably dishonorably discharged after putting his CO in a fullbody cast for ordering him to fire on unarmed civilians, and all he did while working as a security guard was watch porn. If i could dig it up online i would but all I can seem to find is the mention of him bodying his CO.

Fanfic/AU concept
Sun is the bright, beloved, kind ruler of a kingdom somewhere. Everybody loves him, and no one ever has any real complaints against anything that he does. With him, we get a lot of sunshine and general sun symbolism
On the other end of the spectrum, all of the nighttime and general moon symbolism goes to Moon, who is the antagonist of the story. He's painted as the worst person alive, who is evil incarnate, or some crap. He's treated like some kind of monster, and people genuinely fear him
((Long post, rip in parachutes))
Sun is the good guy, and Moon’s the bad guy. Up until a certain point, when Sun starts to sort of,,, display these very tiny, very brief and easy to miss red flags. Something isn't right with him, but whenever anyone asks if he's ok, he always says he's fine and that nothing is wrong. Meanwhile, the reader/main character/other character from the shows that's our lead role here,, catches Moon doing things that are..... surprisingly kind. And not as evil or malicious as we've been led to expect. He's withdrawn still, sure, but he makes contraptions and does things to indirectly help people who get lost while passing through wherever he happens to be. The entire time he's present in the story, Moon's sarcastic and bitter at times, but he never physically hurts anyone. On the inside, he's kind, he just has a difficult time expressing that
Then, at some point, we discover that Moon was supposed to be the ruler of the kingdom. Sun just sort of appeared one day, stole that from him by force, and then banished him. Whatever he did to Moon that resulted in Moon being forced to give up his throne, resulted in Moon living in fear of him. Moon's fear is so deep-seated that he won't even leave his house during the day. To him, anything to do with the sun is immediately bad and dangerous
We also discover that anyone who complains about Sun's rule or questions his decisions,, is also promptly banished. They're warned once to keep their mouth shut, and then if they keep complaining, they're gone. Thrown out of the safety of the kingdom walls and left to fend for themselves
There's a hidden trail outside the walls. It's only visible once the sun goes down, but if a banished person follows it, they're led to the place where Moon's been staying. He secretly takes in the people who get banished and he looks after them, making sure the safe haven is secure and won't ever be found
Everything is fine for a while. No one in the kingdom knows what Sun's been doing, and Moon keeps the banished people safe and hidden. And then someone betrays Moon for whatever reason and reports back to Sun, giving up all the knowledge they possess of Moon's whereabouts, his current activities, and the safe haven he's been protecting
Sun decides that he needs to put a stop to Moon, before Moon has enough people to form any kind of resistance. Moon receives a letter from Sun, hand-delivered by one of the kingdom guards. The letter is an invitation to some kind of event in the kingdom. Moon's confused by this and is immediately distrustful and afraid of it. The people he's been caring for are divided on whether he should take the opportunity to see what Sun wants, or if he should burn the invitation and move the safe haven elsewhere, since they've all gotten at least one good glimpse of Sun's true colors and don't trust him
Moon, although he's inwardly terrified, decides to accept the invitation, not knowing that the event in question is intended to be the last event he ever attends, because Sun wants to make an example of him
Moon gets there, he's taken to Sun, and Sun puts on the friendly and kind-hearted facade that he always uses. His people are present, and he doesn't want them to know his little secret. It's only when he and Moon are alone together in the castle, that Sun decides to make his move. There's nowhere for Moon to hide, and he's completely unarmed. Sun pursues him through the castle, spewing all kinds of nasty and hateful things while trying to cut him down with a sword
Moon gets cornered, and right when Sun's about to finish him off, a window or door gets opened and a spotlight gets put on them. They both freeze. Sun slowly looks up to see that the people of his kingdom now have their eyes on him
Someone who'd been under Moon's care at the safe haven was worried about him, and they'd secretly followed him into the kingdom. They somehow happened to see Sun attacking Moon, and they knew they wouldn't be able to stop Sun if they tried to intervene, so instead? INSTEAD, they immediately look around for some other way to help, which. Leads us to the point where Sun's actions (and Moon's very real, very genuine, in-tears level of fear) get revealed to the kingdom
The kingdom turns on him after they see this and learn about him banishing anyone who questions or disagrees with him and his choices. Sun's restrained, and later on, an inspection is done. Sun doesn't have the birthmark he was born with. This is not Sun at all
This is somebody else (can be anyone, V1 Eclipse, Dark Sun, Killer Sun, anyone really), and now the guards are in a frenzy, trying to find the real Sun while also trying to figure out what to do with the imposter. During this time, the kingdom doesn't have a leader. For the first time in... only god knows how long, Moon finally gets to step in and be the leader that he was always meant to be
The real Sun is either completely gone and unable to be found, or he's been locked up somewhere. I didn't think this far ahead, and tbh I've kinda just been making this up as I typed, but yeah. Gonna be rotating this concept in my brain for a while

So I am a bit ashamed given modern day politics to admit that I'm left leaning at all. Even if I'm a just Left of Center Libertarian.
But the reason why is because of the fact that a huge swath of the left has an issue when it comes to words. Specifically changing the meaning of words until they mean next to nothing at all.
What do I mean by this? Well let's consider, what words have been made to mean nothing by the left:
Gender
Sex
Abortion
Genocide
Nazi
Man
Woman
Child
Family
Capitalism
Communism
Socialism
Fascism
Racism
Sexism
Etc
The list goes on and on and on.
Nazi more or less now means, "I don't like you and you don't agree with me thus forth I will bestow this label on you so as to smear you publicly"
Gender used to mean sex and now it both does and does not mean sex and even is now used to mean "Identity" with that was never what it meant.
Genocide is SUPPOSED to mean the intentional removal of a group of people through killing them or breeding them out by sterilization or intentional delusion of their bloodline. (Example of this is the raping of Uyghur Muslim women by Han chinese men and the sterilization of the Uyghur Muslim men by chemical castration or actual castration). Now it just means, "People dying in war is genocide. People not being allowed to chemically castrate themselves is genocide. People being allowed to eat meat is genocide". IE: It means nothing at all.
And then there's my favorite phrase from the left.
"This is a threat to our Democracy" which actually translates to: This is a threat to the power of Democrats therefore we need to smear and slander anyone pushing whatever is being pushed currently. And we will use weasel words normies use in order to scare them away from whatever this thing being pushed is".
First and foremost, we DO NOT live in a Democracy. We live in a Constitutional Republic. Secondly, when people want power as BADLY as Dems and will lie, cheat, steal, and smear to get there, you should be concerned. I mean for god sake, people consider a very TINY riot at the capital with 99.99% of people unarmed completely, while we also know feds were in the crowd, an "Insurrection"; But then will not consider fire bombing the security office outside the White House, the pushing down of the WH fence, and the burning of a historical church across the street, and the injuring and killing of several Guards and Police the same thing.
So basically, it's a "If we are in power, everything we do, no matter what it is, is fine and reasonable. If you are in power anything we do to try to remove you from power is fine and reasonable.", situation.
That's why I don't like most of the left. Because they think they are gods. Their "Moral" is correct even when it never stops changing. Look at their defense of slavery in the middle east all because, "Those poor oppressed Arabs". I'm sorry but what?! SO slavery is FINE so long as it's non white doing it? That's what I'm hearing right? And sadly a lot of the time it's "YES! That is what you are hearing". If time has taught me anything it's that most of the left is a brainwashed, uneducated cult. They believe EVERYTHING outside of their cult views as evil and thus forth need to lie about it to make everyone else NOT involved or not informed also have the same resentment towards the people they hate.
And it was the last straw when I saw post after post after post of leftists excusing rape. And then people like Hasan Piker calling Kids, "Colonizers" while in the breath before talking about violent removal of people is fine if they are colonizers.
No leftists. You need to understand something very clearly. The "Right" you view as so bad and evil are consistent in most of their morals. But you view everything in bad faith. Thus can't see past your own bias long enough to realize the actual evil ones are you.
And understand. I'm not calling EVERYONE on the left evil. But if you worship the left, you probably are evil. Even if you believe you are doing "The right thing" that doesn't mean you are. And it's about time you realized that.

Hi I got questions! (I figured out what I wanted to do finally)
1. Is rasvan still at the wick? Or where is he staying?
2. What do his days look like? Does he pick up jobs from Leander, helps with the clinic, hunts, just looks for his own cure, etc.
3. Would he fight or flee if met with Soulless? Especially in the city, thin alleys and people around.
4. How *does* he fight? Weapons?
I promise it's meant to be short.idk why the questions are so many. My brain might be lying to me xD thank you!
Hello again!! Don't worry about all the questions, you’re not ready for my wall of text answers😭 I can make them short, but I can’t help explaining every detail about him gjdhgdad. I just like sharing things this way. Take your time to read all of this🧎
Tumblr media
For now, he's staying at the Wick. Eridia is still unfamiliar territory; the place, the people. He doesn’t really know what kind of folks live there, and the last thing he wants is to get stabbed in the back. Been there, done that. So, the only place he considers safe for now is the Wick. Leander is the only person he's familiar with anyway. The guy is kind enough for his own good, giving every necessity he needs for free and Rasvan CAN'T refuse free stuff. He’ll take whatever chance he gets. As generous as Leander is, Rasvan knows he shouldn’t fully trust him but what other choice does he have anyway?
First of all, I would like to mention that Rasvan is not a morning person. He’s incredibly grumpy when he wakes up and extremely pissed if someone wakes him up for no reason, especially on days when he has nothing planned :D. Anyway, since he’s starting a new life in Eridia (for now), he needs to earn some coins for himself. He doesn't like relying on Leander, or anyone else for too long. So, getting a job seems like the most reasonable option an hunting Soulless turns out to be the perfect fit. It’s been some time since he last put his body through anything demanding, and he doesn’t mind getting a little roughed up again.
When he’s not on a job, Rasvan tends to wander through the nooks and crannies of Eridia, exploring aimlessly and occasionally stumbling upon something that catches his interest. He knows he should bring a guide or someone along, but he prefers doing things alone (Not that he minds company, if the person is tolerable.) He only searches for the cure when he has a lead, some clue about where or how to find it. He doesn't like to waste time chasing nothing that risking his life in the end. If there’s absolutely nothing to do, he'll most likely holed up in his room, either crafting charms out of trinkets he’s collected. Or just sleeping.
3. If the situation allows, he'll fight. He might struggle at first. He found Soulless' movements can be messy and unpredictable. But Rasvan is a fast learner, and he adapts quickly.
4. Talk about messy and unpredictable, Rasvan fits the bill perfectly. He moves with agility and fluid grace, always looking for the chance to catch his opponent off guard. Pushing his body to the limit is second nature to him; he’ll do whatever it takes to survive. He's capable of using any weapon, though he much more prefer for lighter ones that he can keep secured close to his sides. A dagger and a short knife are usually all he needs. But if the situation comes where he is unarmed, he'll use anything. Anything that can become a weapon in his hands. Even a toothpick will do in a pinch. Welp if not, then fists will have to do. Rasvan always makes sure to finish the job fast. He doesn’t like wasting time or stalling.
And there you have it~ I could go on but it’d probably never end jasdhjds Hopefully this helps with your writing! Again, thank you so much for wanting to write abt him! I could fly to you and give you a smooch😭 Hope you have fun writing and I'll be here waiting patiently🧎✨

The Murderbot Diaries, by Martha Wells
Tumblr media
These are the best science fiction I've read since James S. A. Corey's Expanse series, in some ways even better. At least four of these books had me up way too late reading them, well into the "I'm going to pay for this at work tomorrow" hours. The other three I finished on weekends.
The main character is a robotic/cyborg security guard, the self-named Murderbot. In this setting you can make purely technological artificial intelligence, but it seems to be cheaper to get most of the way with tech, and then add in a cloned human brain for the adaptive and creative thinking bits. Think Robocop, but instead of a resurrected dead person, it's just cloned tissue here and there.
And Murderbot is very definitely not a person, and does not want to be:
Dr. Mensah said, “That’s not an attitude a lot of humans are going to understand. We tend to think that because a bot or a construct looks human, its ultimate goal would be to become human.”
“That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”
This series makes me think that Star Trek really did Data dirty. Instead of having him wanting to become human they could have gone in a much more interesting direction. Imagine if the Borg Queen had tried to covert him and he just rejected her totally because "Just ugh, no. I'm already better than you."
But Murderbot does have that human brain, and it causes it a lot of trouble. Guilt mostly at first (it gave itself that name for a reason), helplessness (most of the humans it had interacted with before the series were basically corporate slaves, indentured servants on a generational level whose highest hope was to save up enough money that their kids could get upgraded to management, a system Murderbot can't shoot or punch), fear of itself being enslaved again (it had hacked the electronic bit that the company could use to control and kill it, but it had to keep that hidden), and then finally fear that its humans could be killed.
It's basically a giant ball of neuroses and stress, and it's vastly entertaining to see how it deals and adjusts to that.
Another major character in the series is just amazing; the Asshole Research Transport. ART is a fully sentient ship Murderbot meets in the second book. It's got the same losing-its-crew fear Murderbot has, and its reactions to that are the chef's kiss.
At one point it downloads a smaller copy of itself into an unarmed shuttle and threatens another armed transport:
“I lack a sense of proportional response. I don't advise engaging with me on any level.”
At another point, it thinks one of its friends is being held hostage. Step one of it's plan?
“Iris: “Peri, you can’t bomb the colony.”
Perihelion: “You are incorrect, Iris, I can bomb the colony.”
It just straight to orbital bombardment. I don't even remember if there was a step two, something like telling the people it was attacking why it was doing that or how to get it to stop. I think it may have just assumed they'd be able to figure out what they did wrong and why the angry sky-god had commenced with the smiting.
I'd like to read more of course, but the end of the last book seemed to be a pretty good natural stopping point for the series. There's a few comments on reddit that Martha Wells had signed a multi book contract with her publisher and that two more might be Murderbots, but this is a pretty satisfying conclusion. There's also supposed to be a TV series coming out.
Really, really recommend reading these. They're to quality; enough splody bits that I enjoy them and enjoy characterization to make the splody bits mean something.
Next on my list is S. A. Barnes Ghost Station. It's got a crew of astronauts occupying a base on a planet where an alien civilization fell in order to maintain residency and ownership for their corporate overlords. I'm not that far into it; it seems to be going into an Event Horizon horror direction, where the demons they have to survive might be caused by the main character's past, the dead aliens, or just something humanity in general finds escaping itself out in the dark of space.
