I’m so fucking tired of this goddamn job. I wanna make like, ok money, maybe make decent tips as a bartender, not some mediocre retail shit where I sell expensive designer sunglasses that I could never afford.

I just saw a thread on reddit (it was from UnethicalLifeProTips) about the highest paying jobs you can get into just bullshitting your way through. It’s got me tempted to start lying about my work experience, since apparently no one checks anything, at least not here in the States. But at the same time, like, even though I wouldn’t judge someone else for that kinda shit (I mean, how could I, in this economy?) I’m not sure that’s something i can bring myself to do. It’d feel dishonest in a way that feels like, idk, incongruous with my soul or some shit, i guess.

Idk, thoughts, i guess? Idk why i’m asking you in particular, and it also doesn’t help that it’s past midnight for me rn, but fuck it, my tired brain has apparently decided that you’re the person who it makes most sense to kvetch to a little bit and seek advice.

You're asking me for advice because deep down you know that lying in order to survive is not a sin, and you're not harming your employers for claiming to meet up to requirements that the job doesn't even fucking need, because they don't know what they're asking for anyway and they're gonna get what they're gonna get. The more I hear about employment in civilized society, the more I see it's just like dealing with crackheads. You don't owe shit to people who would fuck you over if you turn your back.
