How to Unlock bootloader on Xiaomi HyperOS?
Unlock Bootloader on Xiaomi HyperOS - While HyperOS offers exciting new features, users might encounter errors when trying to unlock the bootloader through the Mi Unlock Tool. If you're facing issues like the "System is being upgraded" error on devices like the Redmi Note 13 5G series, here's how to tackle it.
The Fix:
Often, using a separate Android device will let you complete the Mi Account verification needed for unlocking, even if your primary Xiaomi device is causing trouble.
Still Stuck? Try officially applying for Xiaomi's bootloader unlocking program.
Important: Unlocking the bootloader can impact your device's security and warranty. Proceed with caution.

Psychological horror about replacing your phone and discovering the new tortures the cellular cenobites have been innovating while you were off the market. What the fuck do you mean I need the phone company's permission to unlock MY bootloader? What the FUCK do you MEAN I have to wait seven (7) days before I'm even allowed to toggle the OEM on MY fucking phone??

trying to install micro g on my old huawei as an experiment, turns out you need a code to unlock the bootloader to install stuff and huawei stopped giving them... I maybe have found a tool that bruteforces it but it's too late I need sleep 💤
#I have no idea what I'm doing but that phone is unusable anyway. even if I brick it it doesn't matter#pointless microblogging#why is everything tech related so hard. again I have no idea what I'm doing

I was tagged by @a-very-fond-farewell! Thank you so much darling 💜
1. Last song: Shishen Take On the Challenge from The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity soundtrack (which I paid a small fortune to get my hands on so you bet I've been listening to it almost non-stop ever since. The music is SO FUCKING GOOD OKAY)
2. Favorite color: Purple — which I feel should come as a surprise to no one xD
3. Currently watching: The Killing Vote, because I apparently need more dramas where the Korean public is allowed to vote on whether or not to execute people. Quite enjoying it so far! The characters are a hoot xD And I'm curious to see what they do with the Kwon Seok Joo dude.
I also just started The Guest because I want to watch it before they remove it from Netflix but BOI. That's not one I'll be able to binge, that's for sure. Horror is great but also, well, terrifying x'D
Though, I must say, I might have to take a detour and rewatch the Along With the Gods movies. I've been meaning to do so for ages and seeing Kim Dong Wook in The Guest makes the urge even stronger. Because, let me tell you, I'm SO EAGER to rewatch the movies and observe the characters now that I've seen the twist at the end of the second movie. A twist I figured out before I actually reached the reveal, sure, but I don't think that's a bad thing? Like, for real, guys. The AUDIBLE GASP I let out when I realised what the twist was going to be and then got to sit there and see it slowly dawn on the other characters? BEAUTIFUL. And it CHANGES SO MUCH. Like, I need to rewatch them because so much of what I thought I knew is now a lie! Circumstances have changed! My initial analysis might be wrong! Characters I thought I knew are now completely different! I need to do more research! I NEED TO KNOW.
(This is what happens when your brain works like mine. And one day I might tell you all about why Kang Yo Han is such a fascinating character to me, because, let me tell you, I've rarely seen a character remain so solid in his characterisation even through the kind of reveals we're given in the drama. It's fucking SPECTACULAR)
4. Currently reading: Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (I do it in bursts because it's not the kind of book I can just binge, okay? x'D), We Have Always Lived In the Castle by Shirley Jackson (I would have finished this LONG ago if it didn't give me so much anxiety (but in a good way?)) and Eld by Mats Strandberg and Sara Bergman Elfgren (though I should probably start over on this one since I was very distracted when I read the first chapter)
5. Last movie: No Regret, because why not dabble in older Korean LGBTQ+ content? It was a ride, that's for sure xD And the next movie will be The World to Come (also one I want to watch before it's removed from Netflix)
6. Sweet/spicy/savory: Either sweet or savoury — it depends on my mood, really.
7. Relationship status: Married! :D
8. Current obsession: I'm not sure if I have one right now? Though I am hoping to get back on track with that diorama thing soon. I've almost collected all the materials I need! I just need fake foliage (preferably red) and I'm going to try and buy that either tomorrow or on Saturday.
9. Last thing you googled? Why my phone kept taking only green photos. And everyone kept telling me I shouldn't have unlocked the bootloader (which I don't think can be done by accident and I sure as hell haven't done it intentionally) so in the end I just restarted it and now it works just fine xD
10. Selfie: I don't really take selfies but here's a cropped version of a drawing WIP of mine.

If you know, you know ;)
(... LOOK, the suspender-pulling had to happen eventually, okay?)
11. Currently working on: Chapter 5 of A New Dawn (Begins With Us) and, after that, it'll be either chapter 37 of Who Holds the Devil or maybe the sequel to Gravitational Pull which I'm STILL struggling to find the time to work on. I'm also working on, like, six different drawings simultaneously. Because why make things easy for myself?
Tagging: Whoever wants to do it! Tell me about yourself! :D
#Amethystina Does Tag Games#I feel very all over the place right now x'D#And I have read so few books this year :/#That's such a bummer#I should look into that#I kind of miss reading a shitload of silly romance#And I also want to draw a lot#But then there's writing too#So many hobbies#So little time

Only this time, WITH sudo access, and that LED strip thankfully left somewhat on. Because it's dark as hell back in his lair at night otherwise.
Back in business for Operation Graphene!
The green light is probably coincidental, but we have the green light! 😅 (That strip is actually multicolored programmable, running off a Raspberry Pi. And I am still not sure how to control it. Wanted more illumination last night.)
Good thing that I did ask to be added to the sudo group earlier. Because it looks like next up, we're doing this, which I almost forgot about until "Oops, I guess it doesn't know how to talk to the phone yet!":
Looking like a relatively quick and easy option.
Once again, I just want to unlock my bootloader. 🫤
At least this shit is relatively easy dealing with the Pixels. Which is one of the reasons I opted for one this time.

I hate Xiaomi SO MUCH
It's been weeks of attempts to unlock the bootloader so I can root my phone and finally get full access to Android/data, yet I can't get through the "Application quota limit reached, please try again after [xx/xx]" no matter how early I request it even if I'm punctual with Chinese time zone
I just wanted to play Minecraft in my world

That picture is dishonest at best. It indicates that the keys have buttons, or at least a texture. In reality the whole thing is literally a single piece of flat plastic:

Here's the base without the backplate or battery. Probably possible (if sketchy af) to drill a hole in one of those corners...

Remember when they made an android flip phone but it was literally just a flip phone? Well, I got one. More experiments hopefully to come...
#right now im trying to get the option for bootloader unlock to appear in settings#itll happen#wish i could 3d print to make a better keyplate#my first phone was crap and it had better ergonomics than this#also afaict there is no Enter key

I have two possibilities for you if you're on android - lineageos, or something called ccwse app manager. (the latter if the former isn't an option)
Ccwse will make you a real admin on your phone by activating all the corporate domain control. It's mildly a hassle to set up the first time if it's not a brand new phone, but it's 12,000% worth it. It'll let you rip out core android files if you want. (but like, fixing that is much more difficult on android than real Linux, so maybe don't.)
Lineageos is a better option, but unfortunately requires being able to bootloader unlock which a lot of us phones can't. Ccwse just requires being able to install an apk.
God I hate how normalized not being in control of your own devices has become. My phone updates in the middle of the night without asking me shit or getting my consent for anything and its like "Oh hi I'm your new AI, please enjoy this forced overlay that you can't exit out of until you go through my tutorial"
"Great fuck you, I would like to uninstall you" "Oh I'm sorry you can't uninstall me! I'm a core system application and if you uninstall me your phone won't function correctly despite the fact that I did not exist yesterday and your phone worked fine" "....." "You can disable parts of my functionality but I will always be here and I will pop up notifications asking you to re-enable me unless you figure out how to disable those too! Then I will still show up in a different color at the top of your settings application telling you that you need to 'fix" a 'problem' with your phone, that problem being that I am disabled. Does that help?"
Like, you know what I can do on my desktop? "sudo pacman -Rdd linux" , this will just fucking remove the entire linux kernel. Fundamentally breaking my computer until I boot up a live disk and chroot in and reinstall it or whatever, and the computer will go "Are you sure (y/n)" or whatever and i'm like "y" and it will just go "Ok you got it boss"
But its mine, I get to do what I want with it. I control the computer, the computer does not control me. I refuse to cede control to my phone or anything else. The thing is a lot of people will joke that like "Oh I love just letting the machine tell me what to do, I don't know what I'm doing, it knows best" or whatever but the thing you have to realize is that when you say that you are abstracting away that "the phone" or whatever is not some value neutral logic driven robot like from sci-fi, it is a collection of the the capitalistic and fascistic desires of the tech oligarch fuckwits that are burning the world to the ground right now. You aren't submitting to the phone, you are submitting to Musk, Bezos, Nadella, Pichai, Cook and all those other evil bastards.
Fuck them, fuck their little AI toys, and fuck this.
