hi!! i remember a few days ago you posted something about a second sfth channel, that doesn't really have any videos but helps them and gives the subscribers the ability to use sfth stickers in the chat? i can't find it now tho, and i don't remember what it was called... could you maybe add it to the sfth masterlist? tysm!
Hello! Yes I can explain this :) (and I'll add this and that other post to the masterlist!)
It's not a 2nd channel- it's a youtube membership! It's called the Beetroot Brigade and basically you pay a monthly membership fee and then you can use custom emojis (pictures of the guys) in the livechats (and I think also in the comments? I haven't tried that yet.) you also get membership badges based on how long you've had the subscription for!
Some youtube channels use this feature as a way to post exclusives- but sfth have patreon for this and at the moment it seems like this membership doesn't offer any exclusive videos at all, just a way to help support them more!
Here's a better visual for what the membership offers (I'm not sure if non-members can see this, but it should be fine to post):
Tumblr media
Sfth thought that the emojis move (they're gifs) so some of them look a lil funny- they might be changed soon though, idk :))
And they do also actually have a 2nd youtube channel, called Roll From The Hip! It's for their non-patreon dnd stuff- their first campaign is called plaugeround and will be released on that channel in 4 episodes at some point this year!
But yeah :) this is what the Beetroot Brigade is! I don't know exactly how much it costs because youtube tells me in my currency but I think it's about £1.50! (I'm saying the payment in pounds because a lot of the fandom is from the UK- UK fans let me know if I'm way off!)
(If you're having trouble joining it, there should be a "join" button around where the subscribe button is- I couldn't find it on my phone because I'm not on the latest iOS and agh technology idk, so anyway I used a non-apple device to join.)
Hope this helps!! /gen

Convert Samsung Emojis to iPhone, Without Application or Root!
If you'd like to use iPhone-style emojis on your Samsung device without rooting it, zFont 3 is a popular and effective solution. Here's how you can set it up:
📲 Method: Using zFont 3 (No Root Required)
Step 1: Install zFont 3
Download zFont 3 – Emoji & Font Changer from the Google Play Store.
Step 2: Select and Apply iOS Emoji Pack
Open the zFont 3 app.
Navigate to the Emoji tab.
Browse and select an iOS emoji pack (e.g., iOS 16.4).
Tap Download, then Apply.
Follow the on-screen instructions. For Samsung devices, this typically involves:
Changing the font style to a custom one provided by zFont 3.
Restarting your device to apply changes.
This process replaces the default emojis with iOS-style ones across most system interfaces, including the Samsung Keyboard .
🔄 Reverting to Original Samsung Emojis
If you wish to switch back to the default Samsung emojis:
Go to Settings > Display > Font size and style.
Select Font style.
Choose Default to revert to the original font and emoji set.
⚠️ Important Notes
App Compatibility: While the iOS-style emojis will appear in most system apps, some third-party apps like WhatsApp and Discord use their own emoji sets, so changes might not reflect there.
Font Appearance: Applying iOS emojis may alter the system font to Roboto or another default font. If you prefer Samsung's original font, you might need to explore additional customization options.

Hello! I apologize if this is a nosy question, but what is the silly feelings wheel app you were talking about in a previous post? My therapist and I have been working on identifying feelings but I still very much rely on a list of feeling words to have any idea what I’m feeling, so it could be a helpful resource. No worries if you don’t want to share, just thought I would ask :)
It's called How We Feel! I'm not sure if it's available on all devices yet, but it's on ios and the google play store for sure.
I've been using it for about a year. It's more of a chart than a wheel but people usually recognize the wheel better so that's what I call it. When you first start it has a 10-part tutorial about emotional acceptance and regulation, then it has suggestions for each category of emotion. You can access both at any time tho after those first 10 days.
It has a share option so you can have friends, which has been great for me cause it prompts me to check on friends and them to do the same for me. It allows you to just respond with a little emoji in like a "I'm here for you" little notification to your friend, or you can reach out to your friend on your own. Its really helped me cause I'm bad at reaching out when I need support so to me and I'm bad about taking on other's problems even when I can't handle it so being able to send a little emoji instead to make sure my friends know I'm there if they need me and them doing the same has been great
#I know I sound like I'm a being sponsored by this app but it's genuinely been incredible for my mental health#whenever I get frustrated in therapy now about not being able to describe a feeling my therapist asks me to think about the chart#he'll ask me what color I feel and go 'good! do you want to narrow it down from there or continue with just that?' and it's so helpful#I have such terrible alexithymia from both cptsd and autism#it took a year of working with him to even recognize when I felt angry or hungry or sick#my friends and I check in on each other regularly now but it feels less intrusive#cause it feels like indirectly reaching out so it's less pressure to directly respond#and it might not feel the same for everyone since it could be jarring to get a notification saying friend feels miserable#but now that I've gotten used to it I don't feel like I need to solve their problems and make them feel better#Like they might be miserable because they're sick! So I check in and they say they're sick but okay and I don't feel the impulse to solve#like I would if I just didn't see them then saw them in person and saw they looked miserable#I don't blame myself or feel like I personally need to fix everything because I know they felt like that from an outside source I can't#control but I can certainly help them if they want! It's their choice tho and I don't feel bad if they don't/I can't#I feel less need to control my emotions/force them to be positive like I used to cause nobody feels positive 24/7 and I can see it#I don't feel the need to be politely content like I did in church because no one can be 24/7. I've attempted to get my family to start but#they're still stuck in needing to not be openly negative. It also helps me accept that negative feelings don't last forever#Someone feeling miserable because they're sick eventually puts they feel tired. Then chill and I know they feel better and I feel better too#Anyways thanks for listening to me ramble about my silly little feelings wheel app I hope it helps you like it helped me anon <3

hi. um. i need help. ive been having an issue for months now where sometimes my touchpad will stop working and it'll fix on a restart, but now its stopped working entirely. checking device manager shows that the I2C HID Device has a code 10 error ("This device cannot start. A request for the HID descriptor failed.") .
im not very computer savvy when it comes to drivers but i was able to update the Serial IO and touchpad drivers, and that did absolutely nothing. disabling and re-enabling the device does nothing. reddit suggests using regedit, which im terrified of, or that it could be a hardware issue, which doesn't feel right in this case because restarts previously helped.
there's no pattern to when the touchpad would stop - i was in the middle of typing a tumblr post and trying to get the windows emoji menu to work when it broke. i dont remember how long ive had this laptop and i dont remember the status of the warranty, and i dont want to replace it because its completely fine otherwise and im sick of having to replace laptops.
i dont know what to do. please help.

Good news is coming to your group chat. Today, Apple said it will add support for the RCS messaging standard to the iPhone. The website 9to5Mac broke the news that Apple will release a software update some time next year that will bring support to iOS for the messaging standard, which is already widely used by Android phones.
RCS, or Rich Communications Standard, is a messaging service that’s a step up from the SMS and MMS messaging standards that smartphones have used since they first arrived. RCS can do more than SMS and MMS: It allows users to share higher-resolution photos and videos between their devices; it supports read receipts; and there's more fun stuff, like the ability to easily drop emoji and GIFs into a conversation. It also adds extra layers of security that the older messaging standards lack.
Apple has famously shunned RCS in favor of its own iMessage platform, resulting in a layer of incompatibility that anyone with an Android phone—or any iPhone user who regularly texts people with Android phones—is painfully aware of. Videos shared between iOS and Android are crunchy and low-bandwidth, and Android users are often confounded by group chats, with missed messages, absent emoji, and other glitches.
For years, Apple has been relying on SMS and MMS to bridge the digital divide between these messaging platforms. It’s the last major holdout, as RCS is already supported by major players like Google, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. When Apple adds support for RCS, it won’t need that old bridge, and the move could signal the eventual death of SMS.
“It’s long been time for SMS to go away,” says Anshel Sag, principal analyst at the technology analyst firm Moor Insights and Strategy. “Now SMS can die, it can be sunset. So all the viruses and all the security flaws that are due to SMS can be eliminated.”
The move isn't happening immediately; Apple told 9to5Mac that RCS support will come “in the later half of next year. This timing suggests that support could arrive with the next version of iOS, which typically rolls out in September.
So it’s a ways out, but it's certainly closer than Apple’s previous plan for the feature, which was apparently “never.” A year ago, it seemed Apple was not even considering supporting RCS on the iPhone. Apple CEO Tim Cook glibly joked that you could “buy your mom an iPhone” if you’re having trouble communicating with users on different devices. Since then, pressure has mounted on the company to implement RCS, and some compatibility has emerged between the platforms as they each have evolved.
Last year, Google launched a very public campaign to compel Apple to adopt RCS, which Apple mostly appeared to shrug off. While Google’s push may not have worked to sway Apple, Cupertino has likely been motivated to change its song by the European Union’s recent Digital Markets Act, a piece of legislation that calls for greater interoperability between messaging services.
“I think this was inevitable once the European Markets Act got implemented,” Sag says. “Once that law really got solidified, it was just a matter of Europeans going through their paces and actually implementing the rules and enforcing them.”
Exactly how broad Apple’s support of RCS will be is unclear. Apple has a tendency to follow the letter of the law, so to speak, while also kicking and screaming about it. When similar EU legislation pushed it into offering repair services, it was an expensive process that required users to lug around bulky equipment. Apple was also reluctant to change the iPhone's charging ports to the widespread USB-C standard, only doing so this year once legislation forced its hand. Apple did not respond to requests for comment on this story.
Apple also hasn’t said whether this change will bring an end to those pesky green chat bubbles. In iOS, chats between iPhone users appear in blue-shaded bubbles, but messages from Android users appear in green bubbles.
“I don't know if the green bubble will go away or not, but I have a feeling that they will probably still try to differentiate in a visual manner,” Sag says.
Even with RCS, Apple can choose to continue to brand Android users as outsiders in your group chat. But hey, at least when they drop a video or a sticker, it won’t break the chat anymore.

the controversy with android and iOS
yes, I’m really going to express an opinion here 💀
DISCLAIMER: I don’t mean to offend, or insult anyone preferring Android or iOS. I am simply expressing my personal opinion on this matter, and use this as a caution in case you do not like what you see. Thank you for reading.
So, we’re finally talking about the biggest debate. Is Android better or iOS?
I hate to be another bummer just like the other reviewers, but it really does depend on the person.
Android has the best features, functionality and customisation. It has a lot of design options (thus appealing to me) and is quite popular too, mostly amongst geeks as well.
To most of the public, iPhone is the one. This is almost always because of its popularity and the symbol it represents.
“You have an iPhone? You’re rich. You’re part of a niche crowd.”
That sort of thing. I hate that motive the most because that means they don’t care about the little details and UI stuff that Apple looks out for. The little emojis. The little functionalities within each app. The little UI things it watches out for in its own apps.
In my opinion, I’d like a hybrid of iOS and Android — iOS bringing its design qualities, and Android bringing its customisation and functionality.
Not all Android buyers are always functionality-focused or geeks, and not all iOS buyers are paying for the status symbol. Sometimes iOS buyers might be looking for the minimalism the product brings, and Android users might be buying it for the variety of apps it offers.
There are plenty of motives and reasons why people buy which product which isn’t always expressed in the demographic, or the graphs, or the surveys.
Honestly, I was the worst indecisive tech geek you would’ve ever seen (still am). Before I got a new phone, I had two, working hand-me-downs: my dad’s Oneplus 3T and my mom’s iPhone SE (1st gen). These were like 2015 vintage antiques, to the bustling, big-phone-loving 2019-2023. I still survived, though.
I would switch between them so fast, it would span within three months to a day (yes). I took my time studying, deciding, and operating an Android and iOS device to reach the conclusion I boast today.
I now have a Samsung, and it’s the best. The temptation of an iPhone has haunted me to this day to (because of its minimalism and UI), so much so that I dug out my old hand-me-down iPhone, just to feel it working again.
Android phones and iOS phones still do have a long way to go, many improvements to inculcate, and a lot to start (especially iOS when we talk about system functionalities*), even if you might think this is the furthest we could go.
*With the addition of a customisable lock screen, iOS fans were on top of the world, with thousands and thousands of reviews popping up each second immediately after its release. Android was the clear winner from the start, just like Android fans said, because (as usual) Android already allowed users to customise their lock screens long before Apple did.
So yeah, today I pick Android.
Who knows what each company may unveil in the future?

I have the fairphone 5, and for context I had been using iPhones for 15 years (a blackberry before that, a slide phone before that, a flip before that... Etc 😂). Honestly the transition from iPhone has been pretty smooth. The emojis all look different and it took a couple of weeks to get used to the differences from iOS to android, and the general feel of it as it's more plasticy than the iPhone, it did feel 'fake' at first (now the iPhone feels 'fake' lol). It also runs android so that's the bit that was the most culture shock but if you're moving on from a Samsung galaxy, I imagine it won't be too jarring. Fairphone in general seem like a nice company, I get emails sometimes about fun competitions and useful articles. One thing I really like is my notifications come up periodically as though they've just come through, so as someone who forgets to reply to people this is really useful and something none of my iPhones have ever done. It just runs like your typical smart phone and it's great. The camera quality is good, the speakers are good. Only downside to me is the battery does run down a lot faster with the way I use my phone, than the iPhone does (even after id had my iPhone a couple of years and the battery life went down). For example I have to have it charged at least 30% before I go to sleep as it runs down about 2% an hour with background activity (I have it on average recommended settings for battery life so apps and notifications can still work effectively), and if I'm asleep 8 hours it adds up - specially if, like me, you like to scroll for a bit in bed before falling asleep 😂. There's been a few times where I woke up to find the battery had run right down to 0. But if you have an in car charger you can keep it charged up when you're driving which is what I do, and there are those power packs you can get for keeping charged on the go. It doesn't come with a lead or plug, as they're trying to reduce waste, so either check if you have a usb a to usb c lead, or buy one. Just seen IKEA sell a cute looking yellow one for £1.50 which I'm tempted to get... Lol 😂 but you can buy these items from their website if you really need to (they have leads, plugs - UK and EU compatible but if you have an old iPhone one my us friends, you can plug your lead in to that - replacement screens, covers, batteries, cameras etc for a lot more affordable than iphone repairs, and you can do it yourself at home. I haven't had to yet so I can't comment on what home repairs are like, but I'm sure there are videos out there on YouTube. It looks fairly straight forward though). I was surprised to find I had the right charging lead already, and you might too. The packaging it comes in is minimal and recycled, which I loved. I did have to buy some usb c headphones though.
Lastly, I use my phone as a WiFi hotspot, which I'm still able to do (I did have difficulty getting my Polaroid TV to detect it at first, but that is probably an issue with my TV cause all my other devices found it just fine). I can still screen record, save tiktoks, use filters on my photos, use WhatsApp and other mainstream apps just the same as I've always done. The torch goes off automatically after about 4 to 5 minutes, and I don't think it can be changed. Not sure if it's cause I'm on battery save mode or not. One other thing is the photos app is a bit confusing as to where to find your videos and photos etc but I'm used to it now, and it might be similar to other android phones as it is Google Photos, and when you trim down a video I have no choice but to save the trimmed version as a copy so you have to be mindful of that and delete the original version, or it will use up a lot of storage pretty fast. Besides they really my only negative experience is how fast the battery goes down compared to the iPhone, but even then it's not too bad, and I get that it's because I almost constantly have the hotspot on and I use a lot of battery draining apps.
Hope this helps people. Any questions send me a message or ask 👍
So we all know that that there is no ethical consumption under capitalism, and to a certain extent, we have to acknowledge that our way of life is dependent on the suffering of others. Fortunately, it seems there are people who are pushing against that. If you're in the market for a new phone, I urge you to check out the Fairphone 4. It's made using ethically sourced materials and designed to be modular, so you can make repairs at home- which means if you crack your screen, or the battery stops working, you don't have to buy a whole new phone. I know the world is becoming more and more aware of the horrific conditions being suffered by people in places like DRC to make our smart devices. You can use your buying power to make a change.
I am personally not in the market for a new phone just yet, but if you are looking to get a new phone, I encourage you to look into ethically sourced phones and other tech. If you already have a Fairphone, please reblog this and talk about your experience. Be honest. Give the pros and cons so people can make informed decisions. We can't immediately stop all of the horrors that capitalism has brought on the world, but we have the power to make smaller choices where we can to mitigate the harm done.
Fairphone's main company seems to operate in Europe (website here), but if you are looking to buy in the US and Canada, check out their partner site, Murena (website here).

WhatsApp Data: The Engine Behind the World’s Most Popular Messaging App
Introduction
WhatsApp has become a cornerstone of digital communication, boasting over 2 billion active users globally. Whether it's a casual chat, a voice call, or a business inquiry, WhatsApp handles billions of interactions every day. Behind this seamless experience lies a massive amount of data—WhatsApp data—that powers the platform's functionality, user experience, security, and business capabilities.
From simple text messages to whatsapp data metadata and cloud backups, WhatsApp data encompasses a broad spectrum of digital footprints. In this article, we dive into what WhatsApp data includes, how it is used, what privacy concerns exist, and how individuals and organizations can leverage and protect it.
What is WhatsApp Data?
WhatsApp data refers to all forms of information generated, transmitted, stored, or processed through the WhatsApp platform. This includes:
1. User Data
Name, profile picture, status message
Phone number and contact list
Device type and IP address
Account settings (e.g., last seen, read receipts)
2. Message Content
Text messages
Voice messages
Images, videos, and documents
Stickers, GIFs, emojis
3. Call and Interaction Logs
Voice and video call history
Message timestamps
Message delivery and read receipts
4. Metadata
Information about messages (but not their content)
Who sent a message, to whom, at what time, from which device and IP address
Group memberships and group activity logs
5. Backup Data
Chats backed up to Google Drive (Android) or iCloud (iOS)
Media files included in backup, depending on user preferences
6. WhatsApp Business Data
Business profiles and catalogues
Automated messages (greetings, away messages, quick replies)
Customer interaction logs and analytics
How WhatsApp Uses Your Data
Although WhatsApp touts end-to-end encryption as a hallmark of its security model, the platform still uses and processes certain types of data for specific functions:
1. Message Delivery
Tumblr media
Data ensures that messages are routed correctly from sender to receiver in a secure and timely manner.
2. Syncing Across Devices
With the multi-device feature, WhatsApp data is synced securely across multiple devices to ensure a consistent experience.
3. Spam and Abuse Detection
Metadata is analyzed to identify suspicious behavior such as bulk messaging, spam, or harassment.
4. Feature Enhancement
User interaction data helps WhatsApp improve features, fix bugs, and enhance performance.
5. Integration with Meta Ecosystem
While WhatsApp content remains encrypted, metadata (like device info and usage frequency) may be shared with Meta (its parent company) to personalize experiences on Facebook and Instagram, unless users opt out.
WhatsApp and Privacy: What’s at Stake?
Privacy has been at the heart of public debate around WhatsApp, especially after its 2021 privacy policy update. Here are the key privacy considerations related to WhatsApp data:
1. End-to-End Encryption
All messages, voice calls, and video calls on WhatsApp are end-to-end encrypted by default. This means only the sender and receiver can read or listen to the content—not even WhatsApp or Meta.
2. Metadata Collection
While message content is encrypted, metadata is not. This includes information about who you contacted, when, how often, and your location data inferred through IP addresses.
3. Data Sharing with Meta
In certain regions, WhatsApp shares user metadata with Meta for advertising and business intelligence. The specifics depend on the local legal framework and user consent.
4. Backup Security
Messages stored in cloud backups (Google Drive or iCloud) are not always encrypted unless the user enables encrypted backups. These backups can potentially be accessed by third parties, including law enforcement.
5. Group Privacy
While groups are secure, your phone number and profile picture are visible to all group members unless privacy settings are configured properly.
Downloading and Managing Your WhatsApp Data
WhatsApp allows users to download a report of their account information under the “Request Account Info” feature. This report includes:
Account creation date
Linked devices
Privacy settings
Profile information
Group memberships
However, it does not include message content or media files. For that, users must use chat export features or backups.
WhatsApp Business and Data Analytics
WhatsApp Business is designed for small to large businesses to engage with customers using automated, secure, and rich communication. The data collected here is incredibly valuable for customer service, marketing, and analytics.
1. Customer Data
Businesses collect names, contact details, and chat history, which help personalize support and product offerings.
2. Interaction Metrics
Metrics like response time, message delivery rates, read receipts, and customer engagement can be analyzed to improve performance.
3. APIs and CRM Integration
The WhatsApp Business API allows integration with CRMs and helpdesk software, enabling advanced data analysis and automation.
How Businesses Use WhatsApp Data
1. Customer Support
Brands like airlines, banks, and e-commerce platforms use WhatsApp to resolve customer queries, issue tickets, and provide real-time updates.
2. Transactional Messaging
Order confirmations, shipping updates, appointment reminders, and more are sent via WhatsApp using templates.
3. Marketing Campaigns
Although highly regulated, WhatsApp allows businesses to engage users with promotional content after explicit consent is provided.
4. Feedback and Surveys
Businesses use WhatsApp to gather customer feedback, often in the form of polls or NPS (Net Promoter Score) surveys.
Legal and Compliance Considerations
With great data comes great responsibility. WhatsApp data usage must comply with regional and international data protection laws.
GDPR (Europe)
Users must consent to data processing
Have the right to data access, correction, and deletion
Businesses must secure personal data and report breaches
CCPA (California)
Consumers have the right to know what data is collected and why
Businesses must disclose how WhatsApp data is shared or sold
DPDP (India)
Emphasizes data minimization, storage limitation, and user consent
WhatsApp faced scrutiny in India over its data-sharing policy with Meta
Security Risks Associated with WhatsApp Data
Despite its security architecture, WhatsApp data can still be at risk from:
1. Phishing and Malware
Scammers use WhatsApp to send fraudulent links that can steal data or install spyware.
2. SIM Swap Attacks
Hackers who gain control over a user’s SIM card can access WhatsApp accounts through OTP-based authentication.
3. Device Theft
If your phone is unlocked or your WhatsApp is not password-protected, anyone can access your messages and media.
4. Unencrypted Backups
If not encrypted, backups on cloud platforms can be a vulnerability point.
Best Practices to Protect WhatsApp Data
Enable Two-Step Verification Add an extra PIN code to prevent unauthorized access.
Use Encrypted Backups Turn on end-to-end encrypted backups in WhatsApp settings.
Be Cautious With Group Sharing Review group members before sharing sensitive information.
Manage Privacy Settings Control who sees your last seen, profile picture, about info, and status.
Avoid Clicking on Unknown Links Prevent phishing and potential malware by being cautious with messages from unknown contacts.
The Future of WhatsApp Data
As WhatsApp continues to expand its functionality—from payments in India and Brazil to desktop enhancements—its data ecosystem will grow even more complex.
1. AI and Chatbots
AI-driven chatbots will increasingly use WhatsApp data to offer personalized customer service and automate interactions.
2. Payments and Financial Data
With in-app payments, WhatsApp will handle sensitive financial data, requiring even stricter privacy protocols.
3. Enterprise-Grade Analytics
Large organizations will use business APIs and WhatsApp data analytics to streamline operations and customer journeys.
4. Greater Regulation
Expect tighter regulations and scrutiny over how WhatsApp and Meta handle user data, especially in the EU and Asia.
Thanks for reading..

As someone who's been on both iOS and Android with 12+ years on Android since Android 2.0 and 3 years on iOS since iOS 15, both platforms have their strength and weakness and the "Phone war" between each user base is the dumbest shit ever.
iOS has the best app quality, longest OFFICIAL firmware support, pretty okay customer support and continuity across devices are amazing. Seriously! I used to own a MacBook Pro and AirPods Pro and it works flawlessly with my iPhone XR. And video quality is also nicer on iOS.
Android however gives me more freedom both in hardware and software, if I want a insane camera system then Vivo X200 Pro and Galaxy S24 Ultra is an option. Smooth system animations? OnePlus 12 and 13, a clean and stock experience? Google Pixel! Insane customization? Samsung! U get the jizz. I can sideload apps that are not available in my region, I have a universal back button and a simpler way to access the file system (seriously, iOS Files app is a pain in the ass to deal with). RCS messaging is amazing, Android Auto is a blessing compared to CarPlay and it's easier to write apps for Android (Please...I hate Xcode and Swift with every part of my body).
As I'm typing this on my Pixel 6, I must admit there are things that I miss about my XR even though it was terrible on iOS 18. I miss the "Copy and Delete" option when taking a screenshot, I miss the better app quality and the emojis just look plain better. But I love the 90Hz screen, a smooth UI experience, long battery life and 2 extra years of support on my Pixel 6.
