So I want to tell you a little story about writing In Golden Flame, because it made me feel better.

I have weekly writing groups for IGF with a few trusted individuals, and we were working on a fight wherein a streamer confronts you with a swarm of drone mechs remotely piloted by members of their stream's audience. Each one has a unique callsign that, ideally, should read like something you'd see in the userlist of a Twitch chat. So we had a list of names that looks like this:

SwordGuy69 StellarIndexer DeludedSquirrel NonCannon ShadowCat 3CH0 ProPipe ThunderSkink Aiden26 MrDisco

And I remembered this old Penny Arcade strip that was about banning player usernames that were weed jokes, which had the absolutely stellar weed pun "Bram Toker." I wanted one of those in the callsign list, so me and the writing team - particularly my old friend Greg, who's an inveterate stoner - set about trying to think up a suitable weed-related pun.

Greg quickly came up with a few, which we agreed were okay, but not of the calibre we required. Then, he came up with the phenomenal "TomBongadill," which I agreed was the sort of 10/10 content we needed but was sadly unusable because I felt it was too specific to the modern day (do they even have Tolkien in 5016u?) and also I didn't want to get sued by Tolkien's estate. We puzzled over the matter for a moment in silence. I wracked my brain for a suitable pun. I needed this.

Then, like a flash of divine light, its radiance almost blinding, it came to me, and I quite literally screamed it into the Discord chat.

I misclicked on Medal Rally while going to the Userlist to see who’s visited my profile. I noticed a default-avatar user in Coinflip. Visited their profile, and they’re a 13-day old user, with a Shiny Magearna and PB Magearna in their party.I contacted a mod (who was kind enough to give me their Discord before I got banned, since an appeal system doesn’t exist), and the reply was this:

maybe it's just that I had the nightmarish experience of trying out the (much much much worse) beta version of the discord mobile update for a bit but, speaking as someone who absolutely despises most UI changes even if they're better, I do not understand why people are getting so heated over it. like, more than is usual for this sort of thing

the only things I truly dislike are the changes to the userlist position and the dark mode color. I've seen people say the search is worse and I genuinely do not understand what they're talking about. search being per-channel will take some getting used to but "there's no way to search a whole server anymore" is just not true, and the media tab is so much less clunky than how photos used to show up in searches. moving DMs to the bottom feels a bit arbitrary but it's much easier to get to one-handed vs before where you had to stretch to the top left corner

everything else is just...the same? it's the same

Apologies if this is supposed to be obvious but how do I edit group chats on Dreambubble, as in set as nsfw, make public, etc? There aren't any buttons for this like parp had, or if there are, I'm just not seeing them for some reason.

The userlist SHOULD have a bar called Mod Settings! If not, then there's something up with the GC itself, and this is DB being a shit again

I have extraordinary Reddit karma. And I say this with deep shame. I would not have told you this humiliating fact about myself if it wasn’t necessary to pass on this information.

Once you get enough Reddit karma, you start getting invited to secret Reddit societies for elite high-karma Redditors.

This is not a joke.

They all have rules along the lines of “do not make outsiders aware of The Secret Reddit Society or you’ll be excommunicated”

Bei Lvl 40 hatte ich mal aufgehört und jetzt die letzten Wochen auch bis 50 geschafft.

Und jetzt war es das. Damals ja soo oft beschwert, weil das System halt doof ist und auch bleiben wird, aber wenn man aktiv online ist und die Userliste updated, findet man teils passende Spieler und gegen Ende hab ich nochmal jemanden auf Rang 50 gefunden Und da diese irgendwann auch verschwinden, war es das, weil die NPCs sind ja Rank 0
