QUARTET NIGHT with Chubby, Motherly-type Reader

"Can I request a Starish or Quartet Night with a Chubby motherly reader?? ( platonic if you could do that! ) :3 I hope to see more of UtaPri since I recently got into the anime!"

My first request! I am elated. I hope you enjoy the series… The movies are very good as well! I decided to write for QUARTET NIGHT only, I hope that's okay.

When it comes to AI, he's the one that seems the most mature and organised of all, but he can still be childish in certain situations. Although reticent at first, a motherly-type of friend would help Ai to regulate himself better - he tends to get obsessive over things he likes and regularly loses sleep doing stuff like practising music or online gaming, so I believe someone who would remind him to take breaks or just stop and relax would help him to manage his free time better. He would find it a bit distracting at first, but with time he would understand that it is what's best for him and become thankful for the small caring gestures of this friend.

It's not something that everybody knows and even less people would know how to deal with it, but he was extremely confused once he overheated and this friend tried their best to help him with it. Following instructions without prying or asking for reasons as to why - merely helping out of worry for his well being, was something he had not really experienced many times before. Although this friend would not force him to tell any of his past if he didn't want to, I feel Ai would eventually tell them about his nature once he felt a bit more comfortable with it.

Once he gets close to this friend, they would be the first person he would call when he wanted to discuss his thoughts and discoveries about feelings, people, and the like. He has the bad habit of doing so late at night, though, so sometimes he still gets scolded about it…

For RANMARU, he would be very pissed off at first. If this friend is a woman - well, he doesn't do very well with women to begin with, even less with ones that tell him what to do. Little by little he would come to accept it, rather than admit that he appreciates it, and come to expect a warm blanket over him once he wakes up from a nap, or a small snack next to him, rather than complain about it.

It might be out of respect or to avoid being scolded, but whenever this friend is present, he tries his best not to use overly aggressive language and be AT LEAST a little polite; if he catches himself being too rude, he would quickly look at his friend as if trying to see if he has been caught and about to be called out. He might even call them by their last name if they preferred (no honorifics, though!).

Once he and this friend become closer, I think he would be the type that would enjoy just plain hanging out, no need to talk deep or become too sentimental. He would invite them over to his flat for drinks (which would have this friend bring him some plants or knick knacks, his apartment is so empty!), and might even accept help with dyeing his hair once the roots start to show again.

Similar to Ranmaru, CAMUS would first find it a nuisance. Who were them to tell him what to do and how to act? Of course in front of other people he would be cordial and sweet, but on their own when there's no cameras around, Camus would not be very welcoming to that kind of behaviour. Rather than think of it as someone taking care of him, he would see it as someone looking down on him, as a lot of people did back in the Silk Palace.

This friend manages to get closer to Camus by making a good cup of tea and bringing some nice sweets. He would begrudgingly accept the brewing as acceptable, no matter how amazing it is, and would drink it in silence. Once he sees that this friend is not drinking tea, or eating the snacks themselves but rather serving them to him, he would say something alike to how it's not polite to stand while someone else was eating - a sneaky way to invite them to sit as well (maybe after feeling guilty because of his harsh words and treatment).

He doesn't want to assume anything related to eating habits given his friend's weight and he's unsure if the question would come as too intrusive or offensive, so he would come up with a roundabout way of finding if this friend had any snack preferences. He would pretend he just bought some, and ask if they would be willing to share over a cup of tea, or come up with an excuse to invite this friend to a shop he's been meaning to check himself.

One has to be careful, though, as dealing with Camus is quite tricky. He does not appreciate when people act (in his eyes), as if they know better than him. Still, he would accept once in a while for this friend to warn him to stop eating so much sugar at once, or casually help him calm down if he gets too angry at something in particular.

Finally, with REIJI, it would be a bit of a tug of war at first. He's the one that acts like an elder brother to the rest of QUARTET NIGHT and STARISH (or anything younger than him, really) so he tends to take the role of caretaker most of the time. At first it would confuse him, and he wouldn't really know how to react - he's not used to being the one being taken care of.

He would learn to appreciate it, though he would pass it as a joke as he tends to do. He would comment something about this friend being "reichan-senpai's senpai! so you better behave!". If this person is good enough at reading people OR has gotten close enough to Reiji, he would cherish those moments where his friend asked him for menial things as a way to distract him when his mood grew sadder as it tends to do at times.

If he got close enough to this friend to talk about it, he would open up about his weight as well. Although he doesn't want to assume either, he knows people can be overly judgemental about it, even more in his line of work, and would see this person as a safe space to talk. He's good at cooking and his family runs a bento shop so he's a good eater, and although he is pretty athletic, he is not as skinny as most people would expect an idol to be - pairing with his height, he has become a bit insecure about it. Even if he doesn't like when people fight, let alone fight for his sake, he can't help but feel a bit glad when this friend stands up to him after Ai called him overweight once.

He would try to pay this friend back on his own way, that being by his cooking or inviting them out for a ride, to show his appreciation as well. It's a constant battle of out-parenting each other!

(6/6) Otori Eiji's Private Story [Utapri Live Emotion]

Ch 1: (unlocked if you reached intimacy lvl 6 with Eiji)

-Park- Haruka: (That's strange… I'm sure I heard that the location where they were shooting a movie today was supposed to be around here…) Eiji: Eh, are you possibly…Nanami-san? Oh, it's indeed you. Haruka: Eiji-kun…! I'm so glad that I meet with one of the cast members. You see… I'm actually lost right now. Eiji: I see. Then again today's location is a bit secluded so I don't blame you. Eiji: I'm just on my way to go back after having a quick break. If you don't mind shall we go together? Haruka: Really? Thank you so much, you really help me out. Eiji: You're welcome. By the way I've heard the news. You're the one who will be in charge for the soundtracks of this movie right, Nanami-san? Haruka: Ah, yes. As an assistant of my senior composer*, I was given an opportunity to work on this movie. Haruka: It's also the work from this recently popular director too. To be honest I'm feeling so much pressure just working on it… Eiji: It was the same for me too. Although I was happy when I heard the news, sometimes I can't help but wonder if I'm really the right person for the role. Eiji: The original work for this movie was known as a best-selling novel, its story was refreshing, and the role that I'm playing is the love rival which is quite an important role. Eiji: Ever since the filming began, I've been feeling nervous while making sure that I'm not making trouble for everyone. Eiji: But…since I've already accepted the job, I have no choice but to do my best. I must fulfill the expectations of the director who picked me after all. Haruka: Eiji-kun…that was such a wonderful way of thinking. I'll make sure to support you! Eiji: Thank you. It's very reassuring to know that there's people watching over you. Let's work hard together shall we.

*: I'm not sure how to translate the 作曲家先生 to be honest. I remember he did appear from the ori game, where Haruchan finally got accepted into Shining Agency, but as she was a newbie she was appointed to be working under this 作曲家先生 first before she accept any real job offers from other clients, you could say that she's interning(?) under his care while learning how to work around the field. Anyway he's not exactly a teacher as he's one of the composer in Shining Agency but you could say that he's Haruchan's... senpai in a way(?)

Ch 2: (unlocked if you reached intimacy lvl 11 with Eiji)

-Park- Haruka: (Looks like Eiji-kun's scene will come out soon. He keeps having quite a lively discussion with the director.) Eiji: About this line… I understand, I'll try to be aware for the timing. I'm looking forward to be working with you. Eiji: "…I love you. So much that I can't help it." Eiji: "This feeling of mine won't lose to anyone. I'd promise that I will treasure you. That's why…rather than him, I want you to choose me instead." Haruka: ( …Wow. His expression and his voice…all of them perfectly capture all of his feelings. Even though I know it's all just acting it still made my heart beats…) Eiji: "Ah… did your mind slightly waver just now? Of course I noticed, I mean I've been watching you all this time." Eiji: "As long as there is a possibilty no matter how little they are, I won't give up. I'll definitely make you fall in love with me so…be prepared." - Eiji: …Phew. Thank you very much. Haruka: …Eiji-kun, good job! My eyes can't take their eyes off of you. (choices) <I was moved with the gap of your acting!> Haruka: Your face at that time looks so much more different than the usual Eiji-kun. Anyway I was moved with the gap of your acting! Eiji: Oh no, you're exaggerating. But…it was something I tried to do consciously, so I'm glad you noticed that. Eiji: Being able to become someone else is one of the charms of acting itself. <You're shining brightly> Haruka: Just watching you make my heart beats… Eiji-kun, you're shining so brightly. Eiji: T-That much!? Compared to all of my co-stars, I still have a long way to go. I'm always overwhelmed by their actings during our shooting. Eiji: But knowing you complimented me just now must means that I'm a little bit closer than before. Thank you. (back to story) Eiji: Wait, Nanami-san, what's wrong with your finger? Don't tell me you're hurt…? Haruka: Oh, you're right. I probably accidentally cut myself when I was trying to take a note. Eiji: Although it's just a small wound, it might turn worse if you didn't properly treat it. Please wait here for a moment, I'll be back soon.

Ch 3: (unlocked if you reached intimacy lvl 21 with Eiji)

-Park- Eiji: Sorry for making you wait so long. Here's a band-aid. I think it'd be much better if you put one just in case. Haruka: Thank you so much. I'm sorry for the trouble. Eiji: Don't worry about it. Maybe I'm worrying too much, but it'll be too late if anything happens to you. Haruka: I'll be more careful from now on… But still, it's amazing that you can quickly find a band-aid this fast. Eiji: I-Is that so? I usually carry a first aid kit with me. Though people do sometimes say that I'm quite a worrier. Eiji: But, there are lot of times when I'm glad that I have it with me. Since I also tends to get hurt too sometimes. Eiji: Just like for today, I might be of help to someone else too. This kind of thing really made me happy. Eiji: Especially to everyone in HE★VENS, I want them to always stay healthy and be in their best possible condition. At the very least, this is the only thing that I can do. Haruka: That's not true…! I don't think Eiji-kun's attentiveness is something that everyone else can do. Haruka: And you're also very good at acting too. Seeing you in action really cheered me up and it made me want to try even more harder with my work. Eiji: Really? …Although I'm a bit embarrassed, I'm glad that I might be of help to you even if it's just a little bit. Haruka: (Eiji-kun is really such a kind person. To think that he'd be so considerate and caring to me.) Eiji: Oh…it looks like it's almost time for the next shoot. Actually, after this I have a special appearance later with a big-name actor. Eiji: I've been nervous since this morning, but hearing your encouragements made me feel like I can really do my best now. Eiji: No, I need to be more greedy and make sure it'll turn out to be a great scene. Well then, I'll be going now.

-Shopping Mall- Haruka: (As I thought, there aren't that many people on weekdays. The ticket booth is… Eh? The one standing over there…) Haruka: Eiji-kun…is that you? Eiji: …Nanami-san! You surprised me. Talk about a coincidence. Did you come here to watch this movie too? Haruka: Yes. I was hoping that it might help me as a reference for my songwriting… Oh, it's for the soundtrack of the movie when I came to watch you on set the other day! Eiji: So that's why! …If you don't mind, can we go and watch this movie together? Eiji: I just happened to be thinking of watching this same movie too. But of course you don't have to force yourself, feel free to say no if I'm bothering you. Haruka: Oh no, I'm actually happy for the invitation. It'd be my pleasure to join you! Even though he acts calm and cool, somehow I can feel quite a mysterious passion hidden inside him. Eiji: The fact that he can express his emotion just by his eyes only is amazing. Eiji: You can also felt the presence from the supporting characters too… Oh no, sorry! I ended up talking by myself. Eiji: Um… I'll walk you home later, so could you give me a little bit more of your time? I'd love to hear your thoughts of the movie.

Ch 5: (unlocked if you reached intimacy lvl 41 with Eiji)

-Cafe- Eiji: Um…Nanami-san. You can take a seat in the back first. Haruka: Well then…excuse me. …Oh, this is the food menu, shall we take a look at it together? Eiji: It's okay, there's also one over here… Oh no, this one only have drinks selection. Eiji: I'm sorry, but could you actually share the menu with me? …Hmm, there's so many options here. What do you want to eat? (choices) <I'll be ordering sandwich!> Haruka: I'll be ordering sandwich! You could say that I'm a little bit hungry after watching the movie. Eiji: Really? In fact, I was kind of starving too. Maybe the smell of the popcorn was luring me in. Eiji: Whenever I smell it, I was once reminded that I'm really in a movie theater, and sometimes it makes me want to buy it. <I want to eat pudding> Haruka: I think…I want to eat the pudding. It came out at the movie we saw earlier. Eiji: Heroine's favorite food, right. The scene where the main character bought it for her without even knowing it's her favorite, and it deepens the bond between them. Eiji: And from that point on, the relationship between the two of them begins to change little by little. Especially during the scene where the main character was staring at the riverー Haruka: That piano solo, right! While it has a gentle and soft melody, yet somehow it felt a little bit melancholic too. Eiji: It was perfect for the scenery as the sun gradually went down. I feel that the music adds color to the world of the movie. Eiji: I'm looking forward to the song that you'll create too. I wonder what kind of color you will add to in the movie that we're working on. Haruka: I'll try to do my best so that my music won't lose to the visual of the movie as well. I mean, Eiji-kun's acting is so good after all. Eiji: That's not true. And besides, I'm the one who always feel like I have to properly prove myself that I'm worthy to sing your brilliant songs. 5. Favorite platonic pairing?

Okay so this might be just a thing between me and my friend, but we have this AU where Emet-selch hid away Ryne/"Minfilia" to keep her away from Hydaelyn's influence, but then he still dies as normal and Zenos is the one to find her alone and rescue her? 🥺 And long story short she's now his little sister who is single-handedly saving him from himself and all the trauma his father had inflicted upon him while trying to give her the childhood he never had. I…… am SO emotional about it!! 😭😭😭 They are THE found family siblings, I just get so soft thinking about them 🥺 Genuinely…!!!

I think the only other one that comes to mind, which idk how much this counts since one half of it is my OC, but I'm thinking very much all the time lately about the friendship between my OC Mal and Sebastian!! If you've been reading my fic you might say, "what friendship? Sebastian is a total dickhead to him!" But!! Trust me!!! It's gonna get there eventually!!!!! They are gonna be talking about their feelings and watching frogs together in no time (it will actually be. A long time. But you'll see!!) I haven't really talked about it much because I don't want someone to be like "ehehehe and maybe they are into each other? 👀" but they are strictly just friends and it is going to stay that way!! 😤 One day I'm gonna cave and draw something cute with them hanging out, just wait and see lol

6. Favorite headcanon?

I think the one I've been lingering on most lately is the one you brought up recently, of Zenos being autistic! It makes so much sense, and I already subscribed to it before but I've been thinking about it more since you brought it up! Thinking about him laying in the wol's lap in the royal menagerie, and they're counting the petals on the flowers together to calm him down. :3 Idk, little things like this!

8. Fandom you're a part of that's the most obscure?

Mmm here's where I wanna split hairs on terminology sorry haha okay so to me "fandom" is like, a community, a place of active participation with other fans: whether that's sharing fan works, looking at/reading fan works, or discussing the canon material. That to me is fandom!

So like, to me I would say something like utapri feels obscure, because I'm very passionate about it and don't really have people to talk to about it in much detail, I'm picking up little crumbs about it from pixiv or tumblr, but it feels so tiny to me. But I know it is a big series in Japan! It was popular in western spaces for a time too, like a decade ago-- is that obscure? I don't know, I don't think so, but it feels obscure in the sense of like, I don't feel as if there is all that much community for me to connect with about it.

There's also games like Omori, where the fandom is largely minors so I haven't wanted to interact with the larger fandom space and thus it feels small-- or games that I am deeply fascinated with like Dead Plate that I have no clue if there's any fandom at all and am a bit scared to look for one because it's a very small indie game and thus feels like any fandom would feel too intimate, somehow-- or games that are so old and obscure that I would love to draw art for (and even have in the past!) but finding anyone who has played them is like a needle in a haystack, like my favorite game of all time, Arcanum!

Is a fandom just "things I like that I like"? Or "things I make fanworks for"? Or "a community where I interact with others about this shared interest"? What's obscure in one of those definitions wouldn't be in another definition! Sorry this is a total non-answer but I can't find a way to answer the question in a satisfying way because the question varies based on how you would define fandom!!

I wanted to know your opinion, do you think LE will be releasing songs that were og from SL? Like Star From Microcosmos, Dancing Over Night, etc? Or they'll pretend SL didn't even exist 💀?

I do think they would include the SL theme song CD songs!

Live Emotion feels a lot more like a canon continuation than Shining Live did, so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't acknowledge it too often, or too directly, but I definitely think at some point down the line we might get them added.

Assuming every song in-game might get an MV eventually (even if not as soon as the song is added) at the moment, I'm most curious how they would handle songs with all 18 members. Having said that, a dance MV with 18 idols is definitely doable and Maji Love Kingdom and Welcome to Utapri Kingdom are both already in the game (albeit without MVs currently).

If any songs aren't going to be included, then I would bet on it being the anime OPs, since they technically aren't in any characters in-universe discography, would be difficult to tackle MVs for, and likely have different rights owners that would make inclusion harder/more expensive. I don't think they were in Shining Live either. So potential RIP to Orpheus, Canon, Shine and Tempest <3

Similarly, I can imagine there being discussions of how to handle Seiten Oha Yahho.

Inspired by that glorious Furuba episode and the absolute chaos that is that episode in Utapri when Masato has to act. SFW (shocking, I know)

Presenting, Cindrella-ish.

“What are you doing dilly-dallying out here? The play is going to start without us if we don’t get in” Reiji was pointing a camera at the three bystanders, who were discussing the play.

The calm atmosphere was not reflected backstage, of course, as anyone who has ever been on the stage will testify.

Syo was running around in a frenzy, dragging clothes racks along with him, trying to get everyone in the correct costume. At least Cinderella was easy, the two dresses were pure black.

“That’s the fairy godmother’s gown!” he snatched the item from Camus’s hands, thinking to himself about how on earth he could have mistaken the gown clearly made for Ai. It was all light blue and dainty, like Ai himself.

He shoved a rich burgundy day dress fit for a queen at him: “Here. Make it quick” Camus glared at him. Time, for him, run according to his whim, not anyone else’s. He’d be ready when he’d be ready.

Natsuki was spacing out, already in his costume, but his focus was sharpened when Masato appeared in his gown, a blush on his face: “You’re so cute” he clapped his hands in delight, and Masato ran off to hide before Natsuki could grab him.

“Curtain up in 5” came a shout from the stage attendant. Ranmaru peeled another banana, defiantly. He wasn’t going to rush to be ready either, especially not if a certain annoying nobleman was taking his sweet time doing his hair.

Soon, the lights went off in the auditorium, and Ren stepped onto the stage, a flirty smile briefly gracing his lips before a serious expression took over and he spoke his first line: “Once upon a time, there was a beautiful young girl who was known as Cinderella. Cinderella lived with her step-mother and step-sister, who tormented her because...reasons. Despite their cruelty, she remained kind, and lived a life of virtue and humility.”

The spotlight moved away from the narrator, as Camus stepped on the stage with Masato (still blushing) in tow. “The palace ball is tonight” the sense of urgency was palpable from his annoyed tone, although it was hard to say where his personality ended, and his acting began.

“Are you talking to me?” asked Ranmaru, sat on the floor drinking black coffee like it was his job to do so. Masato attempted to pacify the situation, as it was his character’s role, but sparks could be seen flying between the two young men if one looked hard enough.

Ren had to bring the action back to the story after the audience was left astounded by the step-sister sitting down with Cinderella, starting to make tea like in a traditional tea ceremony while Camus lost his patience. The audience was confused, except for Reiji, who appeared to be enjoying the whole thing.

Ai descended on the stage with some technical difficulties, and proceeded to tell Cinderella about how many minutes she had left before the ball, and how long she would take to make the dresses at her usual unprofessional speed.

Thankfully, the Fairy Godmother was there to save the situation by making beautiful dresses appear by magic, but Ranmaru's acting was beyond the remit of staged miracles. He did not want to be there, and he made no secret of it. The only consolation he had was that the meat for the ball's refreshments was real.

He was enjoying the buffet when Tokiya appeared in all his princely glory, with Natsuki in tow. Everyone’s jaw dropped as he greeted the ball with his honeyed voice...well, except Ranmaru’s, which was full of meat anyway.

Eventually, Prince Tokiya managed to have a dance with a reluctant Ranmaru, while the crowd thought to themselves that he really would have made a better couple with the sweet step-sister.

Alas, the clock struck midnight, and Ranmaru ran off, but not before grabbing some meat and losing one shoe, while Natsuki waxed lyrical about how clearly fate wanted Tokiya to find him using that totally-not-standard-size black Converse.

Syo had not managed to convince Ranmaru to wear the stage glass slippers no matter how hard he had tried. It was a shock to anyone that he had managed to see the cast on stage without a full-blown nervous breakdown!

Prince Tokiya wasted no time touring his kingdom to find his belle, although you need some serious suspension of disbelief to accept the shoe never fit on Masato, whom the audience still thought was the better fit.

Finally, the curtain closed, as the Prince and Cinderella were wed and Camus’ cried in despair at Masato’s loss (Masato himself was so, so happy, and too busy running away from Natsuki anyway).

The end

Disappointed we didn’t get to see the Prince kiss the bride? We couldn’t really show that, this is Saotome Academy, not a high school in a BL doujinshi 😉

Sample of “Throw away everything I have in me, or every indulgence a story | Leon Kennedy x GN!Reader”

So behold a sample of the meet cute I started writing for Leon Kennedy based on idol dating game song, which to my credit still had some big influence on the fic, that rapidly turned into a... I think postmodernism short story. Anyways, as voted on earlier this week, the final fic will include footnotes for the end of the fic with the journal articles that came to mind as I was writing this. I will be trying to get this out by this Saturday so in the meantime, take this small sample.

Premise: A meeting at a bar between two people, who indulges in their vices, that leads to many unspoken words.

In the cold night, you lean on the side of the building watching as the cigarette burned between the fingers of your friend. Golden embers lit up the alleyway providing color to the monotone backdrop.

There was a story behind your friend’s habit. One that you never asked about. It was theirs and theirs alone, why should you dig into their history?

“You sure you don’t mind?” The words drift in the air as your friend opens their mouth.

“I don’t mind.” You reassure them as they grind the cigarette against the wall, putting out what color it was giving off. “Want to head in now?” A slight quirk of your head towards the entrance of the bar accompanying those words.

A smile graces their gentle features before they walk towards the entrance. An answer wasn’t needed after the day the pair of you had.

By the time you make it into the bar, it’s got a decent crowd each with their own desires.

Off to the corner was a man with dirty blond hair and striking blue eyes, his grip on his glass of liquor tight as if afraid to let it go.

I dunno what made me think about this BUT

@ 2:30 in the morning here I got bored and was looking up the utapri TV site and as I would expect its dormant This isn’t exactly a problem for me seeing how the content has shifted over to the movie site right now for the movie that comes out next year BUT it got me thinking about a few things so I’ll list them here and some actually are Shining Live related so I’ll put them in a separate column TV Site Dormancy So...I dunno how domains work to be honest but I know that the TV site has been dormant now at least since they announced the movie on Christmas Eve here in the states (a thing that everyone pretty much knew about but whatever...not important). Now the domain for the TV site will have to be renewed probably around 8th Ani when it comes time.  This makes me think of a few things IF Broc and A-1 want to kill (End the Anime) then they could just let the TV site expire and focus on content for the Movie and then end UtaPri in that way...it would SUCK because it would mean (and if we are all honest this is true) that the lone season for HEAVENS as a “full-time unit” got marred in an ugly situation that needed to be (and still does to be honest) looked at as objectively as possible.  Its honestly the ugliest thing I ever saw in any fandom PERIOD but that’s just me The thing of it is is if you kill off the Anime after the movie you in a weird way kill off a revenue stream for the series.  The late night viewership #’s might not be known but think from the perspective of selling the CDs for the Anime and the DVDs.  If you have nothing to hype up around the series (after the movie) then...the series dies!  This is something Agematsu said in a tweet wouldn’t happen and that it would “live forever” which is both promising and cryptic af...what does this mean? Right now the focus is on the movie and that is fine but Broc and A-1 have to sit in a room and go “Okay...we have the movie going right now.  What is our next step Televisionwise and will it be again with Tokyo MX (which has been their home I believe for every season).” This is tricky and its a gamble one way or the other that they need to figure out soon because right now its February and I think fans need to know the truth one way or the other...speaking of the movie this leads us to the game Shining Live Its February and we are 2 days from the end of a very fun and taxing (at least for those of us fighting to get in or stay in the top 10%) event AND its almost Valentine’s Day which is an interesting time because its Ren’s Birthday too! Right now the Shining Live game is getting ready to wrap up maintenance (although why the fuck you have maintenance in the middle of an event is beyond me) and then we begin the two day sprint to the finish line to see who can secure the Masa and Natsuki UR/SR photos respectively. HOWEVER February is an interesting time as well because we have songs from the Shining Masterpiece to come out as well as STARISH’s new movie single...this part is where it gets really interesting We know that the schedule for the movie singles is to have STARISH come out in a week or so ,QN in the summer and then HEAVENS in the fall...this last part is important Forget for a second that this blogger is a fan of the boys in blue and let’s think about the releases of the singles IF they get included in the game STARISH and QN will get put in...that we know because the game’s story is based around them right now but what do we do about HEAVENS? Broc and KLab would be putting themselves in a no win if they start to include the Movie singles for STARISH and QN now.  The reason is that if they DO include them but carefully don’t include HEAVENS (and “carefully” means put some PR spin on it) then HEAVENS fans get pissed.  Yes its a small part of the fandom but they need to be allowed to be happy too Now if you DO include them...what happens with the STARISH and QN fans?  do they suddenly drop the game or what happens?  Its a gamble that not even Jim Bowen from “Bullseye” could offer because the stakes are very high here too! Think about it The game (according to the google play app on the US side) has been downloaded only 10K times.  Are they willing to risk alienating people that already don’t like them by adding them into the game or even just their movie songs? But then THAT problem rears its head Not including the HEAVENS characters and having their songs would be like me making a setlist for Phil Collins but someone else performed it...I know the analogy doesn’t make sense but I’m going somewhere with this The point is that ,like it or not, and whatever you THINK HEAVENS’ role is in this setup they are a part of the fabric of this universe now so excluding them from this big release would be stupid...at least I think so But maybe I’m alone in this.  Would Shining Live be BETTER without HEAVENS or WITH?  I tend to think that they will be interesting characters in the game and if its a way to get to learn more about them (more “idol discoveries” maybe?) then I am 1000% for this So here are the talking points for this post 1.  The future of the UtaPri Anime and if it continues or not 2.  To include HEAVENS or not in Shining Live if the movie singles get put in there and what impact they will have on the userbase especially on the international side Let’s get chatting friends cos this is something that has been on my mind for a good minute and we need to have this discussion Valentine’s Day is in just 1 week!

Utapri English DUB Voices?! [Fanmade]

Yo! Has anyone ever wondered what the guys of Uta no Prince-sama would sound like, if they were given an english dub? Well both of us thought it would be fun to make short videos, for each character with their selected dub VA!

Of course this is fanmade, hence the voice actors we’ve chosen are mainly OUR ideal selections, and shouldn’t be taken too seriously! XD

But yeah, like this post if you’d like to see these types of video edits! And feel free to mention your ideal dub voices too, who knows we may also agree with you and even change ours! =D

The Final Broccoli Shareholder Meeting ☆

I had originally written the below portion for Mia's 10th Uta no Podcast episode: Music Talk, as she tends to go over occurrences and fandom news that have come out between episodes toward the end of the show. However, considering the nature of the news, I felt it would be good to also share part of the transcript here so that those who do not listen to the show, or may not know otherwise, can get a better understanding as to what's been going on.

Broccoli held their 29th stakeholder meeting on May 26th, 2023, resulting in much controversy within the Utapri fandom. It is believed that around 160-170 people were in attendance; and from my understanding of this thread by @active_cns_N, Broccoli as a company has fostered a culture of allowing fans to interact directly with their staff at these meetings to discuss topics outside of just management policies, which is customary in this kind of gathering. Because Broccoli will be delisting themselves from the stock market, this would be their final public shareholder meeting. Please keep in mind that the information detailed in this summary are consolidated from various tweets that came from the attendees themselves, and no minutes have been released as of writing this document. As a result, there may be some things that may need clarification or amendment at a later date. 

In any case, it is believed that Broccoli were expecting to be answering questions regarding the Happinet acquisition considering their lack of preparedness, vagueness, and overall lacking responses regarding Dolce Vita, Backdol and Utapri as whole. These subjects took up most of the duration for the meeting. In fact, I believe it was mentioned that only one question regarding the acquisition was asked throughout the entire meeting, which may have been a shareholder asking if Broccoli was intentionally sabotaging themselves so that Happinet's tender offer could get to 1,500 yen and allow for an easier acquisition. The current President affirmed that no such actions were taking place.

This would be a good segway to mention that the current President of Broccoli is Shigeki Suzuki who served as director and senior managing executive officer at Happinet, being appointed back in April of 2022. The chairman and executive director of Broccoli are also previous Happinet employees.

At this time, it seems there is only one female executive in the company and she is believe to be the producer responsible for overseeing the Utapri project. There are no women currently on the board of directors.

Now for what everyone's been waiting for: As supporters of Uta no Prince-sama, what do we need to know?

♫ Dolce Vita is still in development and Broccoli asserted that it will see a release date; they explained that the reason development on the game slowed to a crawl had to do with having few staff members who are well-versed in the world of Uta no prince-sama and that with the expansion of the movie projects, Shining Live and SSS among other things, it has been difficult to allocate resources to Dolce Vita. The discontinuation of the PS Vita game console also had a huge impact on DV's development. Broccoli emphasized that they want to carefully craft a game they feel the fans will be satisfied with and are very cognizant of its significance and want to be careful with the product they end up releasing. They also declined to say specifically if there would or would not be new information coming out on the 13th anniversary.

♯  It's been brought to light after the meeting that Broccoli currently has up to five (5) different job postings on their site directly related to Utapri in some capacity, like the hiring of a content director, graphic designer, and staff for scenario direction and writing among other roles.  ♯  It's also worth mentioning that historically, the writing for the Utapri games have largely been outsourced to other companies. It wasn't until ASAS that the content was produced in-house.

♫ The title of Uta no Princess-sama from Uta no Princess-sama: Back to the Idol will not be changed, and that after an internal discussion on the matter, did not see the reason to change it and stand firm with Agematsu's vision for the project. They maintain that there will be no crossover between the franchises.

♯ When asked exactly what to expect from Backdol, and why there was a severe lack in quality for their recently released videos (like the recently published Golden Week series), Broccoli only answered the question in part and said they are "making efforts to improve the quality of their videos".

♫ Broccoli was also asked why Backdol and Utapri were so similar despite having nothing to do with each other and asked if their neglect for female-oriented content despite their enthusiasm towards male-oriented IPs had to do with the lack of women among the board of directors. Their response is as follows: On the similarities between Backdol/Utapri: The company does not perceive it to be that way. On the lack of women among the board: While there are no women among the board of directors, they do have a female executive officer (likely referring to Sayaka Konno) who is involved in the development of concepts. Within the company, women also outnumber men in middle management positions and female employees are constantly involved in projects such as Utapri. The prospect of a female on the board is welcome and desired, but they do not consider appointments solely on gender alone. Again, because of the amount of women in the company, it is only a matter of time before some of them transferred to director or executive officer positions. They also emphasized that the opinions of female staff are more readily accepted and incorporated compared to their male counterparts when it comes to content creation. All of this to say that the company feels they are not inhibiting their voices.

♫ When it comes to the mishandling and lack of sufficient stock for event merchandise, Broccoli could only conjure a vague response stating they will "make efforts to improve the situation"

♫ Broccoli has plans for upcoming Birthday celebrations but would not say exactly what. They also did not have anything to say regarding the apparent discontinuation of the Birthday Collection series.

That is as much information as I can remember to include at the moment and am unsure if anything was missed, so anyone with more to share, please don't hesitate to correct or add to in the chat or comments below.

There is much to be said about the acquisition because of Happinet's apparent limited understanding of otome or romance content and Broccoli's responses in general but all I can hope as an enthusiast of the franchise is that it all turns out for the best.

Cut under for yandere, angst and length. This is my personal characterisation of Ren, Camus and Yamato from Utapri as a Yandere. Actual Ren, Camus and Yamato would not do this; this is my take on how Ren, Camus and Yamato acts as a Yandere.

With that, they swung their swords back and forth at the king, his body finally tossed out the window. Splashes and blots of blood decorate the chamber and the princes left.

"Princess!"

Your lady-in-waiting burst into your room, waking you up. You shifted out of your sheets, rubbing your eyes, your joints aching from the uncomfortable position you slept in. Your usually happy-go-lucky maid quivered, her eyes filled with horror as her tears soaked her skirt.

Once feeling your hands console her fear, the lady spoke up. "Your father was found dead! They said he was assassinated!"

"Gather the servants," You commanded. "The knights should be investigating now and I don't want to give anyone a chance to escape."

Your lady-in-waiting nodded, hurrying out the door. As the sound of clacking heels faded, you hurried out of your bed, impatient with yourself as you hurried to the servant room where your son stayed for the night along with the other children.

You breathed out a sigh of relief as the children, including Mitsunari, your son. His dark blue eyes resembling Masato glossed over, as his tiny body trembled into your embrace. As you gathered the children, the sudden hustling of the soldiers scared the children.

"Princess, you shouldn't be here."

Out of a reflex, you shielded the group of children with your body, your back towards the man. The tap on your shoulder alerted that everything was alright, although you weren't too happy with the face you encountered.

"Prince Yamato?"

He sheathed his sword, signaling the knights behind him. They swiftly lead the children away. One knight stayed behind, bowing to you and held his hands out to you, politely asking you to hand Mitsunari over to him.

You shook your head firmly, cuddling the boy close to your chest. "It's alright. This one's about to fall asleep, and I'll ask Lady Tomochika to take him later."

A sigh escaped your lips after watching the children leave to the other servants, however. Yamato was suspicious of how you cooed the child. He didn't assume you were heartless, well… You were cold to him, but not to the extent around children. He halted any thoughts of hatred towards the child in his arms, realising how sinister they were.

Mitsunari held onto your garment tight, snuggling up to your chest as you soothed him. Yamato untied his cape, draping it over your shoulders. You reluctantly accepted it, stepping away from the prince once the cape comfortably sat on your shoulders.

"Ah! There you are Princess!"

You wanted to scream on the spot. First you had to deal with Yamato, and now…

"Prince Ren," You bowed slightly, keeping Mitsunari in your arms. "And Prince Yamato. Thank you for coordinating the knights."

Ren bowed in turn, escorting by your side with Yamato. The two idly chatted, attempting to get closer and closer to you. You scoffed, trying to keep ahead of them. The situation was hazy to you, and they'd be the only ones who know about your father's death.

"…Where's my father's body?" You spoke up. You made sure to cover Mitsunari's ears in case of any possibility of gruesome descriptions.

Yamato huffed. He was hoping you'd inquire at least for his safety, heck, even Ren's. "Camus is handling the body with other knights. Ren is supposed to hunt the assassins, and I was to ensure the safety of the castle," Yamato snuck a look at Ren. "And clearly, someone's been caught slacking…"

The tense situation between the two princes never dispelled, which made you more wary of the two. Mitsunari didn't sleep throughout the entire walk, his head peaking out of the cape you swaddled yourself and him in.

"Ah, the little prince has awoken…" Ren quipped.

All airs of propriety vanished as you stopped in your tracks. A shiver ran through your spine, your hands cold against your son's skin. "How… How did you know?..."

The princes' usual teasing demeanour switched to a sinister expression on both faces.

Yamato couldn't help but laugh. "Ahahaha! Oh… Princess… If only you could see the utter despair on your face…" He wiped off a tear of laughter from his eyes, stepping close to you. "We're not as stupid as you think we are… We fooled you, didn't we?"

"Ma-Mama…" Mitsunari cried out, his curious eyes turning into wariness as he watched Yamato hurl over in laughter. You soothed your child, huffing at the other two.

"How impudent of you, Yamato… To scare a child through your laughter…"

The icy Northern Prince Camus appeared, sheathing away his bloodied sword. "Apologies for his rudeness, Your Highness but I believe that there are matters we must discuss in private…"

"Who are you to steal the lady's attention away?" Ren taunted, boldly pulling you by the waist close to him. "Didn't we say we'd play fair, Camus? Or was the Princess' face distractingly lovely for you?"

The men pestered you enough. To get them out of your hair, you had no choice to comply with the meeting. Mitsunari was still kept by your side, since the secret was leaked. Besides, the knowledge of the spy still being out there.

You set Mitsunari down, although he still clutched your skirt tight. His eyes glanced over the Princes, and by his body language, you figured he recognised the three Princes. To your shock, your son ran up to Prince Yamato, hugging him by the leg.

"Hello Prince Papa…" He said, his little body swaying from left to right, quite nervous. "Are… Are you here to pick up Mama?"

Yamato chuckled, picking up the child, teasingly mocking the other two. "Sure… if those other meanies would let me…"

"Who's here to pick up who now?!" You protested, quite alarmed that Mitsunari had such a good relationship with one of the princes.

"Now now Princess YN, I simply told your son the truth, didn't I?"

Mitsunari nodded, jumping off Yamato's arms and tugging your dress once more. "Mama… Grandpapa was going to sell you off if you didn't marry one of them… And…" The next words brought tears to his dark blue eyes. "And it would mean that I couldn't be with Mama…"

To dispel your doubts, Ren had presented you with official documents from the King's study, with contracts to sell you off, as well as legal announcements of bankruptcy. You couldn't believe it…

"No… No, this can't be true!" You cried out.

Camus caught you before your knees gave in. "We're afraid we can't lie about it…"

Ren tucked away the documents, huffing, "This is why you should've understand our reasons to kill him…"

Upon hearing those words, you shoved Prince Camus aside, unwilling to digest Ren's words. "My father… It was you?!"

Ren, braving your hatred, swooped in to land a kiss on your hand. "All for your benefit, my lady."

"My Queen, we couldn't bear the thought of losing you."

"Honestly, we have more means and power to protect you."

"So choose wisely Princess."
