Does anyone want a goofy ass list of stuff I genuinely predicted would happen in Season 4 based on mostly the trailer?

-Music would save someone from Vecna (Max had headphones on constantly)

-Volume 1 would end on the cliffhanger of Nancy being in the Mindscape (there was one very quick shot of it in the trailer, and it seemed like the perfect cliffhanger)

-Someone would use the lights again to communicate in the Upside Down (seemed logical considering we knew the teens were going in there)

-Nancy would get an Upside Down gun (hey, it almost happened)

-Someone would kill a Demogorgon by shoving something into its mouth (literally yelled at my screen like it was a football game when it happened)

-Someone would joke about Hopper and El having the same hair

-Someone other than El would have a nosebleed (I have no idea why I guessed this, it wasn’t Vecna related in my head but I was right anyway)

-Barb comeback - I think we already knew about Billy and based on that I guessed we’d see Barb)

-Henry and Vecna are the same - I guessed it as soon as Victor called him sensitive

-Vecna controls the Mind Flayer - this was after v1 came out but before v2 and I had to fight for my life to get people to believe this theory which turned out to be true. Everyone on tiktok owes me an apology for saying I had no idea how the UD worked.

i really think there should be a moment where Mike looks at Will hugging Jonathan with absolute longing and guilt. Get the audience's gears turning, even if just to think back on the airport scene and get them back to wondering why the hell Michael Wheeler didn't hug his childhood best friend of 10 years when he arrived in California. If they end up on a homophobic train of thought that's on them but the show still has to make them think about it again. Make it important by calling back to it. The text has been a lot more overt with Will in V1, so I think V2 has to do the same for Mike.

I've posted about it before but my expectations (so far) are that things are going to happen in this sequence:

Will and Jonathan have a moment and hug in the SBP chain they stopped at, which Mike sees. Mike thinks back on the airport and feels guilty and ashamed that Will sought comfort from Jonathan, not Mike, especially after Will's been trying to help with Mike and El's relationship problems.

Will gives Mike the painting as a gesture to fully amend their friendship on Will's side. Will has resolved even further to prioritize his friendship with Mike. Unbeknownst to Will, this moment just furthers Mike's shame because he obviously doesn't think Will did anything wrong. Maybe this is where we get that cheesy Will quote idk. They reminisce about good times pre-UD. I just want them to have a talk about themselves tbh. So far their convos have all touched on El. V2 needs to show them interacting without her influence. (edit: thinking maybe the scene could start with Mike asking about the painting again)

We need to have moments that center Mike and further show his conflicted feelings. I know the byler fans have all caught the subtext, but most of the audience haven't yet so V2 has to be more overt.

This and the next one could be switched idk yet. But Mike definitely gets Vecna'd. and Will too why not.

As per my last prediction post, I'm still unsure where and how the break-up with El will occur. Initially I was thinking they would probably break up before reaching Hawkins. But I'm thinking a mirror of what happened in S3 could also work where Mike confesses to his feelings (his real ones this time) with the party (plus El maybe minus Will) in the room. Idk if I'm expecting it to be climactic or maybe done in a similar way to Mike and Will's car convo, somber and quiet. Either way, I am expecting it to be immediately followed by the action going into overdrive.

And again, I am expecting Will won't know about the break-up until the end of season 4 or start of S5. It'd be neat if he found out and then got a love confession from Mike this season I guess but again, as a lover of angst and mutual pining, I don't think it's bad to let Mike stew in it for a little while longer. Let him start S5 with him and the audience painfully aware of his pining this time around.

Fun take/headcanon on why Will was taken:

Will hasn't realized yet but somehow just as Kali or Peter he has some sort of power over reality. The line 'friends don't lie' will become more prominent as season 5 gets closer and we'll find out that Will was so adamant about not lying to Mike, ever, that he accidentally brought the Demogorgon to himself so Mike would know that, you know, he didn't lie and the Demogorgon actually got him when he rolled 7.

oh this would be so cool…I definitely want to see a scene where we see how Will manipulated the lights and it’s not in the way the teens of Hawkins team did—it’s been unique for him since the start, his connection with the UD, and though s4 v1 sidelined him a bit there, honestly all of Cali team was pretty sidelined as there wasn’t much supernatural stuff going on compared to all the other storylines . but once we get everyone back in Hawkins, where Will’s connection is strongest, the reasons for why the Mind Flayer wanted him so badly in the face of Vecna now stepping up to the plate to open more gates is gonna be some good storytelling. if Will can manipulate reality and bring monsters from the UD into reality, if he can control lights without the glowing stuff the teens used, if he is a gate of sorts all on his own (I think of him as a plane walker), then Vecna and the Mind Flayer will want him desperately. He survived the UD because of happy memories, remembering his friends, his family, his loved ones, and happy songs that kept those good thoughts alive. Being back in Hawkins, facing his trauma again, dealing with any potential tensions between himself and Mike, and the lies he’s keeping to himself despite the fact ‘friends don’t lie’…I can see that having impact in v2 and s5.

You never know, that line with Tyrian may be brought up again. Like a lot of things in volume 1 ended up being foreshadowed between Oz saying "I made more mistakes than any man, woman or child" the narrator being Salem and Yang mentioning how Oz seem like two different people. RWBY seems like it looks to play the long game with small things which tend to work out.

Yeah, reunion in afterlife or death hallucination is most likely. I really do blame certain fiction depiction of deaths for the obsession of Pyr still being alive. I remember back in V4 I saw a LOT of theories about Pyrrah becoming a Grimm somehow and it was weird.

I do love RWBY but the large cast is a problem in the sense that we don't get as many mixed up character interactions as we should, the series tend to always pair the same characters together for the most part. V8 gave ud character interactions we never had/severely lacked such as Ren with Yang and Nora with Weiss and Blake and it was a very nice change of pace. We even actually had a full conversation began Blake and Ruby in V8, something we haven't gotten dive V1! It's probably because the show has a budget and can't do as many characte interactions as it'd probably like to do.

Yea,, that could be a possibility and i would be very happy if that was the case and it was an opening for new arcs for JNR! But like,, i remember when Salem's backstory ep came out and the crew was saying how that was a story they had planned since the early concepts of the show, so it would make sense that early lines about an important character like Ozpin to be foreshadowing. With the Tyrian scene tho... idk i just feel like that isnt the case. Pyrrha is a loved character so i don't blame people for creating those scenarios she comes back. For a while i actually thought that could be a possibility ldkgj Pretty sure we didn't know much about grimm back then? The theories were reached to an unexplored part of the show that could be a base for her return. Also, u know that would come with that a n g s t with Pyr being a monster and that's content people love to see sldkgj Ah yes... tots agree. Another thing is that RWBY is a show without fillers, and from my other experiences with other shows, fillers if done right can be great for exploring characters and interactions! But the space for filler usually comes with being a show made for tv. Tho there are shows like She ra that do that well too, but with rwby they probably don't have the time or budget to give much space for that, especially with how short the early vols had to be...

David really showed up in YA vol. 2 and decided he would be the only one to even remotely care about Tommy huh? Like, and what gets me is that he didn’t even visibly care like a huge amount, the others just cared so little that the fact he showed just a smidge of inititave in trying to locate Tommy just propelled him past the finish line, if that makes sense. Like if you’re competing in a race and walking super super slow, but you still win because everyone else is crawling or not moving at all

yeah i totally get what ur saying and its so sad bc like. these are people that tommy’s been working with ever since the end of ya v1 😭 and ik billy was like “um what abt tommy” but like thats kind of the extent of him trying. they all had bigger tasks at hand and just couldnt spare a single thought for tommy except for david 😭😭 and ud think billy would be more worried considering 1. brothers 2. theyve actually taken the time to bond since then too

Is this true? Is my wearing this bracelet for that reason Shirk or not? If it is Shirk, how do I repent from such a great sin? Have my Salahs, Sawm (Fasting) and all good deeds in the past gone to waste or not? There is no evidence for it. This sort of bracelet is called Tamimah (amulet). The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade the use of amulets and ordered that it should be cut. He (ﷺ) said: Anyone who ties an amulet, may Allah not fulfill his aim; and anyone who ties a seashell, may Allah not give him peace. And: Anyone who ties an amulet has committed Shirk (associating others with Allah in His Divinity or worship). The Prophet (ﷺ) sent people during some battles to cut the strings and amulets fastened around the neck of animals for protection against the evil eye. He (ﷺ) said: Ruqyahs (recitations for healing or protection), amulets and love-charms are Shirk. Ruqyah here is referring to any words recited that violate Shariah (Islamic law), by beseeching or supplicating to other than Allah. Amulets are any item hung or worn to give protection against the evil eye or Jinn (creatures created from fire). Love-charms is a form of Sihr (witchcraft), referred to as Al-`Atf and Al-Sarf (spells aimed at creating love or hatred). The Prophet (ﷺ) made it clear that all this is Shirk. It is reported in Musnad Ahmad (may Allah be merciful to him) through good Sanad (chain of narrators) on the authority of `Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) that: The Prophet (ﷺ) saw a man wearing a brass ring on his upper arm, so he (ﷺ) said, 'What is this?' The man replied, 'This is to protect from Al-Wahinah (pain in the shoulder and the arm).' He (ﷺ) said, 'Truly, it will only increase you in weakness. Take it off; if you were to die with it on you, you would never succeed.' This is a great warning for anyone who wears any similar bracelets claimed to protect from a disease in the hands referred to as "Al-Wahinah". Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) found a man who had tied a string to his hand. He asked him what was it for, and the man replied: "For fever." So Hudhayfah cut it while reciting Allah's Words: And most of them believe not in Allah except that they attribute partners unto Him [i.e. they are Mushrikun i.e. polytheists. See Verse 6: 121]. It was also reported by Ibrahim Al-Nakh`iy that the companions of Ibn Mas`ud hated all forms of amulets, whether they contained Qur`an or not. They considered them all Haram (prohibited). 概要

はじめに

今回は、DatadogのURL監視（HTTP Check）を設定する方法をご紹介します。

Datadogは、SaaSで提供されるシス���ムモニタリングツールであり、現在担当する案件でも、サーバーやアプリケーションの監視に使用しています。Datadog の概要は、下記のログミーTechで公開されている服部さんの記事を参照ください。

Datadogで実現するURL監視

DatadogのHTTP Checkを利用して、HTTPエンドポイントに対する死活監視（URL監視）が可能です。HTTP ステータスコードの他に、SSL証明書の検証や期限切れが近い SSL 証明書の特定などの監視が可能です。

また、応答時間 (秒単位) をメトリクス（collect_response_time）として収集可能です。

URL監視のmonitorはNetworkから作る

DatadogでURL監視（HTTP Check）を行う際のmonitor は、「New Monitor」 ⇒ 「monitor type: Network」 を選択します。

ただし、監視対象のサーバーでAgent が未設定の場合は、下記のメッセージが表示されます。

「Please ensure that HTTP and/or TCP checks have been configured in the agent.」

URL監視の送信元を決める

先ず、監視対象のURLに定期的にリクエストを送る検証サーバーを選定します。

上記検証サーバーは、Datadog のAgent がインストールされており、かつ監視対象のHTTPサービス提供するサーバーと異なるサーバーであるべきです。

Datadog Agent の設定

Linux の場合は、下記にDatadog Agent のHTTP Check設定を配置します。

/etc/datadog-agent/conf.d/http_check.d/conf.yaml

Windows の場合は、下記にDatadog Agent のHTTP Check設定を配置します。

C:\ProgramData\Datadog\conf.d\http_check.d\conf.yaml

以下、conf.yaml のサンプルです。

デフォルトでは、SSL の有効性をチェックしません。ただし、期限切れが近い SSL 証明書のチェックはデフォルトで行われます。

Datadog Agentの設定が完了したら、URL監視のmonitor を作成します。

uri の証明書が既に期限切れの場合は DOWN

uri の証明書が days_critical 日未満に期限切れになる場合は CRITICAL

uri の証明書が days_warning 日未満に期限切れになる場合は WARNING

これら以外の場合は UP を返します。

このチェックを無効にするには、check_certificate_expiration を false に設定します。
