(tl;dr: Valenkin are my comic's "dinosaur-folk")

Valenkin are a group of sapient creatures superficially resembling prehistoric Terran (Earth) Archosaurs, specifically Dinosaurs and Pterosaurs. They are unique in the fact that they all start life from the egg as identical tetrapods of monochrome color, with little to no identifying features.

They are “hyper-polymorphs” that can mature into one of 10 varieties following an incredible growth-spurt in early adolescence. Each of these varieties become physically distinct from one another with only a few secondary characteristics exempt (Yellow eyes, opposable thumbs, green-tinted mucosal membranes, obligate omnivores regardless of dentition).
