She has a standard Ritterschwert, a mostly single handed sword. Its specific shape is based, on my part, on the Sword of St. Wenceslas (though without the fancy decorations on the blade, and with a normal pommel instead of the weird cool glass (?) one), which has an older blade but a hilt and crossguard from the 13th century:
(from top to bottom; left to right)
- Portugal: 'Ai Coração' by Mimicat
- Sweden: 'Tattoo' by Loreen
- Czechia: 'My Sister's Crown' by Vesna
- Moldova: 'Soarele şi Luna' by Pasha Parfeni
- Finland: 'Cha Cha Cha' by Käärijä
And for my top favourite: AUSTRIA with 'Who The Hell Is Edgar?' by Teya & Salena.
Some honourable mentions:
- Slovenia: 'Carpe Diem' by Joker Out
- France: 'Évidemment' by La Zarra
- Denmark: 'Breaking My Heart' by Reiley (sad that it didn't qualify)
- Belgium: 'Because Of You' by Gustaph
"My Sister's Crown" is expressing solidarity with Ukraine and condemning Russia's invasion. This is incredibly obvious. "My sister" is Ukraine. The "you" in lines like "you can take your hands back" is clearly Russia. They put a veneer of girl power anthem over it just in case the EBU tried to strike them down for being "too political." I mean "you can't steal our souls" is a direct quote from Jamala's Eurovision winning song "1944." If you can't tell whose side Czechia is on, you might just be stupid.
VDtWOF is a slice of life comic set in 13th century Bohemia, featuring characters from my in-progress Vesna games. It generally updates every Friday. Fanart, asks, comments and feedback are always super welcome!
(This should go without saying, but racists, terfs and so on get blocked on sight. Don't have time for that kind of thing.)
