I wanted to give his VF3 outfit some attention since that game is usually forgotten. I had to be creative with his glutes area since it's kinda hard to find a good pic of what's on his tights.

September Community Poll: Establishing a Headcannon
Every now and then a group of fans will occasionally just decide something about a character in their favorite series. Something that would never come up within the actual context of the series, but is nevertheless simply accepted. It could be anything, from a favorite food, song, or animal, a particular opinion, or some kind of habit.
So, today I ask the community, regarding this somewhat esoteric character from the GameBoy trilogy:

What if...The Cross Zone got a lot bigger?
From the creative minds that bought you Namco X Capcom, Project X Zone was released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012 in Japan and worldwide in 2013, receiving great praise as it bought characters from three legendary game developers -- Capcom, Sega, and Namco Bandai -- to crossed worlds, dimensions, and the fabric of time for the ultimate cross-over tactical RPG mashup!
But what if the cross zone had gotten a whole lot bigger with even MORE titles and are joined by even more characters from surprising guest companies.
What if...The Cross Zone got a lot bigger? explores what would happen if the events of Namco X Capcom, Project X Zone, and Project X Zone 2 occurred differently with the inclusion of characters, worlds, and universes of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Square Enix, and much more. For example, my fan-made original story movie inspired by the crossover RPG.

Bruh hyperfixations are weird af, not like the experience or doing it but like sometimes you just fixate on some random thing for no reason.
Had a dream last night of some blue twink with a gun and decided to hunt them down on the off chance they exist and somehow I found them.
No idea who Happy Chaos was (yes 'happy Chaos' is his name) until today and now I am tempted to play a fighting game (last one aside from smash I played was Virtua Fighter 5) again for this guy, reading up all the stuff I can about him, and looking at fan art. I have never interacted with Guilty Gear until now.
Anyway y'all ever have a possibly divine mandated hyperfixation?
#hyperfixation#happy chaos#guilty gear#like I feel coming to somebody in a dream then making them pay for DLC fits his character#but seriously HOW DID I FIND THIS GUY

EVO Japan! It's this weekend!!
... I hope they announce good stuff for Tekken 8 (ideally the balance patch is yuge and they significantly retool things to make the game less absurdly aggro and nerf the top tiers). And also I want a good character reveal.
To be totally honest I feel like Eddy Tekken 8 just makes the game worse. I didn't like him before, and I like his Tekken 8 version even less than his legacy versions. I don't like looking at him on the main screen. I don't like that you can't lab against him in replays unless you bought the DLC. Before, he was at least interesting and weird, but now he's a Tekken 8-ass character (derogatory).
And you know what, almost every Eddy player I've run into online has been an utter coward. As soon as there's any indication that you know what Eddy does, they leave. And you know what, I know what Eddy does and I'm going to take your damn points because you have no idea what you're doing and you're a barely-conscious putz.
... anyway, they gotta fix Tekken 8. They gotta penalize one-and-dones in ranked somehow and take out all the safe power crush heat engagers. Victor is absurdly obnoxious. I liked him OK at first (At Least It's Not Noctis) but... not a fan.
I started out intending to be excited about what they might announce at EVO Japan this weekend but I just complained about Tekken 8 and Tekken 8 players.
I hope they announce the new Virtua Fighter game. And gimme Armor King and/or Anna next for Tekken 8.

The original Virtua Fighter was a pioneer in the fighting game genre. Developed by Sega AM2 and released exclusively for arcades in 1993, the title gained notoriety not only because of its intuitive gameplay, but also its visuals, which were considered realistic at the time. Virtua Fighter may look rudimentary and basic by today's standards, but back then, it was revolutionary. Sega's renowned fighting game was the first in its genre to feature fully 3D polygonal graphics. This aspect of Virtua Fighter was a major selling point, and ultimately contributed to the game becoming a worldwide phenomenon in the 90s.
Virtua Fighter has spawned multiple sequels and spin-offs over the years, from 1994's Virtua Fighter 2 all the way up to 2014's Virtua Fighter: Fever Combo. Unfortunately, though, other than a few ports and enhanced re-releases, the VF franchise has been dormant for quite some time. Recent rumors seem to suggest, however, that this may not be the case for long. The prominent insider Midori, also known as RyanFromTheBronx, alleged earlier this year that Sega was working on a new mainline entry in the VF series, presumably titled Virtua Fighter 6. This report, coupled with a recent tweet from Sega that fans believe was teasing VF 6, has led speculation to run rampant about this unannounced game. If Sega is indeed working on this title, then the company's revival of Virtua Fighter could prove to be a bigger deal than some might expect.
A Virtua Fighter Revival Could Prove to be Very Successful
Evidence Suggests that Virtua Fighter 6 May Be in the Works
Rumors and teases aside, there are reasons to think that a new Virtua Fighter game is in development. Back in December 2023, Sega announced a new initiative to resurrect some of its legacy IPs. Among the franchises the publisher revealed would receive this reboot treatment were Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Streets of Rage, Shinobi, and Golden Axe. While it didn't provide any specific details about the new installments in these dormant properties, such as their names or release dates, the firm did hint that even more classic Sega IPs would be brought back in the future, in addition to the aforementioned five.
It's anyone's guess as to what other franchises the company will decide to revive, but based off of recent comments from Sega COO Shuji Itsumi, one of them may end up being Virtua Fighter. Shortly after Sega unveiled its plans for dormant series revivals in December, Itsumi revealed in an interview with the Washington Post that the Japanese publisher was actively entertaining the idea of making a new VF game. Taking all this into account, it seems like the chances of Virtua Fighter 6 happening are higher than ever before, which is especially great considering the renaissance the fighting game genre has been having as of late.
Sega Could Capitalize on the Fighting Game Boom With a New Virtua Fighter Game
Fighting games are becoming more and more popular throughout the years. Two of the biggest franchises in the genre, Street Fighter and Tekken, have been on a roll lately. Street Fighter 6, which released last year, was met with rave reviews and broad commercial success. Tekken 8, meanwhile, debuted in 2024 to near-universal acclaim from critics, selling over two million copies just one month after its launch. If Sega does make a new, high-quality Virtual Fighter game, it could end up standing toe-to-toe with these giants and potentially eclipsing them in one regard: approachability.
Virtua Fighter 6 Could Use Approachability to Its Advantage
If there's one thing Virtua Fighter is known for besides 3D graphics, it's having an accessible learning curve. So many fighting games are hard to get into due to their complex gameplay mechanics, but in VF's case, that isn't an issue. The control schemes in most Virtual Fighter games are quite simple and easy to understand since general combat maneuvers typically only involve the use of three buttons and an 8-directional control stick. If a new Virtua Fighter game doubles down on this approachable gameplay philosophy that previous entries in the franchise had, it may appeal to a broader-than-usual audience, which could lead to it becoming one of Sega's next big hits.

Ok so, with the Tekken 8 Closed Network Test now concluded, I'd like to share a few thoughts.
The game looks great, I love the new redesigns, I love the new animations and the fact that they got the entire cast to rerecord their battle grunts and win / pre battle quotes, it was especially weird to have certain characters use voice lines from different actors, some of whom weren't even speaking the same language 🤣
The redesigns are almost exclusively great so far, but I do hope we get alternate costumes. Yeah customization is there but I don't really care to have Nina in jeans and cowboy boots or Jin in platinum blond pigtails like... A lot of fighting games just have a palette swap as the second costume and call it a day, but from the very beginning all the way up to Tekken 6, Tekken had an alternate outfit for every single character. Not only that, but it was usually a more "casual" outfit too like, Kazuya's Tekken 1 1P was his karate gi pants but his 2P was a tank top and jeans. Asuka's Tekken 5 1P was her Aikido uniform and her 2P was her trademark shorts and tank top and so on. Tekken 7 originally went for the 2P palette swap, but at some point they added extra costumes, including classic looks, via an update, and I hope they are there from the start this time.
I played almost exclusively as Nina because she's been my main since 2005, with a little Jun, a little Xiaoyu and a little Jin thrown in. I also tried Lili's, Hwoarang's and Asuka's combo trials (nice that they FINALLY added combo trials, I don't know what took them so long lol) I gotta say it's extremely satisfying to see Harada CONSTANTLY shading Street Fighter on Twitter by saying that the base roster will feature a lot more fighters than our competitors an also Mortal Kombat by saying that they are focusing on legacy fighters before they even start considering guests. Like. That's a ball move and a huge reassurance for the fans. I also know it's in good faith and no harm is meant towards Capcom or Netherrealm but he's right and he should say it!
If there's one thing I hope they copy off of Capcom is Word Tour mode. Yeah NetherRealm Studios' cinematic story mode is fine... I guess... But World Tour mode is the best single player mode ever featured in a fighting game and Namco even have their own blueprint in the form of Tekken Force. We're probably still getting a cinematic-style story but there's still hope for Tekken 9, or maybe even a smaller-scale Tekken Force return, in the style of Tekken 4 or sth.
Arcade Mode needs a proper reintroduction as well, in Tekken 6 you only got 4 battles and you were done and in Tekken 7 you straight up got nothing at all out of Arcade mode and character endings were instead for the base game characters who weren't prominently featured in the cinematic story and you got them after a single battle... Very underwhelming.
Also hoping other "missing" modes like Team Battle return and maybe Tekken Bowl will be included from the get go this time? I've also had this request forever but I'd love to see 1P Vs. Com or Com Vs. Com fights be included in offline versus. Literally every other fighting game has it except Tekken and Virtua Fighter and I can't tell why. It shouldn't be hard to implement and honestly sometimes it's just fun to pick characters, costumes and stage and just fight it out with the computer, as a break from online grinding and whatnot.
Now, as for the battle system itself... It's lots of fun! There's tons of stuff going on at all times but it feels great to experience and it's not really overwhelming or anything. It's cute that they have included an "easy mode" for new players to ease themselves in the fun. I'm not a master player by any means but I've had almost two decades of experience in Tekken and legacy skill does play a big role in the Tekken meta so it's an interesting way to even out the playing field. Interestingly, they also seem to have simplified some of the more complicated commands like, I can pull off all of Nina's combo throws now with a total of like, four button presses at most? Crazy! The heat system feels a bit weird at first but it's a huge asset once you get into it which doesn't take all that long anyway.
Overall I am very satisfied with what I got to play and I feel like Tekken 8 is gonna be another huge chapter in Tekken's history as well as the FGC's as a whole and I honestly cannot wait! Hopefully I will have moved out of Greece by the time it's out because my internet connection was killing me 😭🤣
I also better see miss Anna and Christie in the game or else I'm rioting.

Annon-Guy: I'm making a new voting poll regarding fighting games and I thought I'd ask you one fighting game fan to another about what you think of the following games? (You can message me instead of replying this in the ask box if you prefer)
Street Fighter
Soul Calibur
Virtua Fighter
The King of Fighters
Dead or Alive
BlazBlue
Bloody Roar
Melty Blood
Phantom Breaker: Omnia
SkullGirls
Mortal Kombat 1
GranBlue Fantasy Versus: Rising
DNF Duel
Been a while since somebody asked me my thoughts on Fighting Games in general, so I might as well respond in a post:
Street Fighter 6 has loads of fresh potential, and I'm actually thinking about coming back to this series after my extended hiatus (the only problem being I can't afford games at the moment, hehe). Though I will still continue to take a passive "casual" approach to playing any and all fighting games, like I usually do. Capcom games tend to be a deep sore point with me in the past because of how hardcore the userbase typically is, so if I DO return, I'll be taking it very slow.
I'm STILL CURRENTLY PLAYING SC6 IF ANYONE ASKS. I'm just fully absorbed in farming/forging weapons in Libra of Souls. In fact, I just got a Level 90 Balor Scythe with 50% (max) critical hit rating! I got lucky today! I know Harada recently said he was partly responsible for "Euthanizing" Soul Calibur's development team as-is, but I still haven't given up hope for Soul Calibur 7, that is literally how much this series means to me... Soul Calibur is second only to Samurai Shodown and Guilty Gear in my heart of hearts.
Virtua Fighter: Sigh... that's a game I haven't played in eons... I played Dead or Alive 5 when the VF cast were guests in that title, and I goofed around a little bit with them, but to me that series always felt "basic" in terms of character appeal... sure a few characters were interesting, but I haven't really delved in to the game since it matured to more advanced graphics. I get that lots of fans (like Rooflemonger) are diehard VF fans for technical reasons, and I respect that... it's just to me these characters are the 3D equivalent of early Street Fighter concepts and that generic-ness never really appealed to me.
KOF... I have mixed feelings about this series: on the one hand the character designs are always peak or near-peak, and the music is always great... on the other hand the Team-based combat resources they've relied on for years feels rather dull to me. If they took even half of what BlazBlue Crosstag used and applied it to KOF, that would spice things up for me considerably. I've played my share of these games, Garou Densetsu: City of the Wolves (Fatal Fury) is going to do lots of things KOF has not done in a long time. My biggest beef with KOF is the fact it's so hard to earn meter and use it. I'm a Guilty Gear player, so Tension is super important to me, so I guess Gold Burst spoiled me in that regard, but still... KOF resources feel like they could use a fresh coat of paint in my humble opinion.
Dead or Alive... I actually haven't played since DoA5U to be honest, but at the same time this series has some goofiness to it that I always liked. The Combo freedom of the series always felt good to me, though there's a huge technical aspect to the attacks and hits, so it takes a long time to really understand what you're doing in that game... I also struggle with the Izuna Command Throws in that game, but I think I really love the counter parry system the most (even if some people hate it, I think it's very intuitive as a defensive tool). In terms of characters and roster, there's a lot that's both absurd and cool at the same time... and I think most DoA fans understand it... though the fanservice DOES get out of hand (we're an FGC community, not a BROTHEL). But sometimes they hit the nail on the head with DLC costumes, so that's a plus.
Barring what Mori has planned for BlazBlue in the future... I just really loved goofing around with mods in Central Fiction (I feel sorry for Console BB players as they are missing out on a lot of fun in the PC community). BlazBlue has always played second fiddle to Guilty Gear for many years, but despite this, it grew its own dedicated community to the point where you can TELL THE DIFFERENCE between a GG fan and a BB fan, and I respect that. Also, shoutouts to Ishiwatari for composing fresh music for BlazBlue that is a far cry different from the usual music we hear in Guilty Gear. It's just a fresh feeling whenever I play BB instead of GG, to be honest.
Beastorizor... Honestly, I had the misfortune to only ever play a demo of this game back on the PSX (PlayStation One console), so I was never lucky enough to get access to these games on a regular basis. I really like them, to be honest, and related to this but I also got in the manga "Killing Bites" because of how similar it is to Bloody Roar in concept... so I kinda wish Killing Bites had a crossover with Bloody Roar one day... that's how cool this series became in my mind. Also the art style and visuals were "very similar" to the Prototype build of Guilty Gear prior to the shift to 2D sprites for the first game back in 1998. Outside of Bloody Roar, Battle Arena Toshinden has a very similar art style to Guilty Gear's as well back in the day. BR is a very nostalgic game to me. I just wish Konami would get off their high horse and make a fresh game already.
I own Type Lumina (and Actress Again) on PC, and I've barely scratched the surface of that game to be perfectly honest. Melty Blood always felt like a different kind of game to me... in fact all French Bread games feel different from your typical "fixed combo fighter" games... they really put emphasis on options and freedom in these games, and I always appreciated that. The Moon system in the older games was just like EX Mode in Guilty Gear... so many variations you could pick to suit your play style, it was amazing, really. Also, the fact Lumina can customize your character sprite colors is the cherry on top... few 2D fighting games can brag to the idea that you can make your own unique colors, and Melty Blood is always going to be in my thoughts at some point. Also, I'm a huge fan of NekoARC Chaos... and no one can change that aspect of me!
Phantom Breaker... unfortunately I have never played this game, or seen it, so I can't really say much, though I know a few people who play it. My fighting game library is large, so sometimes I miss the boat on some titles, sadly.
Skullgirls... yet another game I barely play, though I keep saying it: the animation style feels optimal to what I would expect a Darkstalkers Remake to be. This series has a lot of Legal History that is plaguing it at the moment, but I still trust in the REAL SOVIET HEART of Mike Zaimont to pull through one day. I think this game has a lot of innovative concepts that people barely realize should exist in fighting games, and they're STILL adding new characters to this day as well! Well, it's yet another reminder that I have to get more DLC for this game later...
Mortal Kombat 1 (not to be confused with my nostalgic feelings for the Sega Genesis Port of the First MK game)... to be honest I've barely finished playing MK11 to really shift gears and play MK1, though I've heard some controversial discussions about the DLC of late, I have no idea what Ed Boon has in mind for the game's future... it's a tad different from older MK games to say the least, but they're still doing lots of fun stuff with it, so that's always good. And Ed knows how to spin a good yarn if Story mode is any indication.
Granblue... ohhhhh mannn.... I want to play Rising so bad... I want to play Relink too... I'm just broke. T~T Granblue will always be fun to me... and the fact they're adding costume and weapon elements to the game is just so great, plus the RPG mode makes me wish more games did what they do. Just the fact Granblue is being made by Soul Calibur's devs is also a nostalgic and great feeling as well. I'm still a hardcore fan of Vaseraga, to say the least... I'm also looking forward to trying 2B again as well (which is ironic, since 2B is ALSO in Soul Calibur 6).
DNF Duel... yet another game I haven't touched yet... I'm falling behind... it's killing me, honestly. I have yet to play Dungeon Fighter as well... though if DNF Duel really wants to appeal to me, they'll add an actual DUNGEON Mode to the game. That's my wish, at least.
Okay, I think that's everything... I just wish my PC was functioning and I could afford half the games on this list more. And I still have my eye on the latest Under Night In-Birth game as well... sigh... so much to think about...

Sega Saturn - Zen Nihon [All Japan] Pro Wrestling -Featuring Virtua-
Title: Zen Nihon [All Japan] Pro Wrestling -Featuring Virtua- / 全日本プロレス ~FEATURING VIRTUA~
Developer/Publisher: Sega AM1 / Scarab
Release date: 23 October 1997
Catalogue No.: GS-9158
Genre: Wrestling
Coming direct from the Sega ST-V arcade, this Saturn port is a perfect port featuring all of the arcade action as well as a few Saturn original modes such as building up your very own wrestler. I'm not a wrestling game fan at all but even I found enjoyment in this and as the title says, this game features Wolf Hawkfield and Jeffry McWild from Virtua Fighter.

VF5's 14th Anniversary!
[Image credit SEGA / Microsoft] On this day, 14 years ago, SEGA officially released Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, an updated version of the original VF5, on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation 3. Known for its deep mechanics and balanced gameplay, Virtua Fighter 5 released to critical acclaim and amassed a large scene in Japan.

What sets Virtua Fighter 5 apart from other fighting games is its emphasis on realism and depth. The game features a robust and intricate fighting system that rewards skill, precision, and strategic thinking. Each character has a unique and lengthy move list, and mastering them requires time and dedication (I'm personally a fan of Jean Kujo).
The game's visuals were groundbreaking at the time of its release and still hold up well today! The character models are detailed, and the animations are fluid and realistic. The stages are beautifully designed, with dynamic backgrounds that add to the overall immersion.
The game has a huge community in Japan and a niche-but-enthusiastic following in the West. If you want to play the game today, definitely check out Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, a remaster of the game with extra content (though currently exclusive to the PS4). I hope more people will be able to experience this masterclass in the fighting game genre.

Virtua Fighter 5 - Sarah Bryant:
"My main girl is in the game, and she's better than ever. Sarah is such an icon. She has a simple but awesome design, great fighting style and a lot of easy combos. She's perfect for beginners, and for people with taste, lol."
