❊ KENMA can't keep his excited smile as he records his son taking his first steps. the little baby slowly puts one of his little feet in front of the other, occasionally looking up at his father for affirmation. "you can do it buddy, i'm right here." he says, encouraging his son and making sure to have the moment recorded at the same time.

but as soon as his son takes one wobbly step and trips over his own feet, he immediately lets go of his phone and instinctively catches him, holding him up and supporting him. his son looks up at him, teary eyed and sniffling. "you did great buddy!" he exclaims wiping a stray tear and brings him into a tight hug, "papa's proud of you."

❊ AKAASHI smiles from ear to ear as he claps a certain rhythm which seems to encourage and guide his daughter as she takes her first wobbly steps. "that's it! keep walking to papa!" he cheers on as she quite confidently takes one step and another in the living room.

and as soon as she's inches away from his arms, he scoops her up from the floor and spins her around, two toothy grins sporting their faces. "you did so great baby!" he chuckles as the room fills with their happy little giggles.

❊ SUNA excitedly opens his camera and records the moment with shaking hands. his daughter slowly props herself up from the floor and starts taking small, wobbly steps towards him with a big (or lack thereof) toothy grin on her face. "look at you taking your first steps!" he chuckles as both his eyes focus on his daughter, he extends a hand out for her while the other holds up his camera.

and as soon as she comes up to him, she holds his hand for support. she then takes his camera from him and babbles as she sees her own face on it. he lets out another laugh and scoops her up onto his lap, then gently takes back his phone and excitedly sends you the video.

❊ KITA sets his daughter down onto the ground and holds her up. what he didn't expect was for her to slowly let go of his hand and start walking on her own, her wobbly little feet in cute yellow shoes stepping around on their own. he follows in behind her and has a hand extended to her back, just in case she falls. but she doesn't and she only continues to walk confidently.

after a few steps on her own, she looks back at her father and makes grabby hands at him, and he obliges (as he always does) and scoops her up into his arms. "you did so good ma angel," he says as he kisses her chubby cheeks. they spend the rest of the day walking around the fields, with him explaining to her how rice grows and her babbling along.

You looked up from your phone to see a nurse looking over to you. “He just woke up and is asking for you.” You nodded and stood from your seat, following her down the long hallway of the hospital.

You could already hear Chanyeol’s slurred voice echoing down the halls as you followed the nurse to his room.

“I... I’m an idol! I make music... and siiiing... and raaaap! And I’m in a groupppp. Wanna know it’s naaame?”

“EXO! EXO... yeeeah! We have sooooo many fans allll around the world!” 

“I looove EXO-L so so so muchhh! They are soooooo amazing!”

As soon as the nurse opened the door to Chanyeol’s room, you saw him in the dental chair, smiling goofily with a face wrap around his head. He continued to talk to the dentist and their assistant, waving his arms animatedly as he spoke.

“Chanyeol, there’s someone to see you!” the nurse whispered. He turned to face the door of the room, pointing lopsidedly at the door.

“Whooooo?” Chanyeol slurred, his goofy smile growing twice the size at the sight of you. “(Y/N)!!!!!!!!”

You grinned as you stepped inside of the room. “Hey Channie.”

“Dooooc! Nuuuurse! This is my giiiiiirlfriend!” The giant reached out to you as you took a seat next to the chair. His hands brushed your face, eliciting a gasp from your loopy boyfriend. “Ohhhh, nooooo! Did I hit youuuu?”

“No, it’s okay, Channie. I’m okay, you didn’t hit me.” you cooed as you took his hand into yours.

“I hiiiit you! Nooooo!” Chanyeol whined as he yanked his hand away from you. “Don’t hold my hand, it’s eeeevil!” 

“How come it’s evil?”

“Because it hit my beeeeautiful girlfriend! And that’s iiiiilegal!” You couldn’t help but giggle at Chanyeol’s wailing. 

“You’re adorable, hun.”

“Am I rweaaaaly?”

“Yeah, you are.”

“Whoaaaa! I can’t believe the prettiest girl in the woooorld called meee adorable!” You bit back a smile as Chanyeol reached for your hands again. “Waaaaah, look how tiiiiny!” He giggled before letting out a loud yawn.

“You tired, baby?”

“Not... tired...” Chanyeol slurred before shutting his eyes. He held your hand against his chest as he drifted off into dreamland. He looked so peaceful, so at ease in this state. You remembered how anxious he was pre-surgery and how you had to hold his hand as the dentist put a gas mask over his mouth. You were so happy and proud that he got through the surgery successfully despite his worries and anxieties.

“When do you think he’ll be good to go home?” you asked the dentist.

“Once he wakes up we’ll see if he’s less loopy.” they responded. You thanked them as you turned to stare at your sleeping boyfriend, a smile etching at your features. You took out your phone and snapped a picture of him, sighing at how cute and peaceful he looked.

“Do you mind if I stay in here with him ‘till he wakes up?”

“Of course not, it’ll be better for him to see you when he wakes up since he was asking for you before.” You nodded as you ran your thumb up and down his hand. 

The dentist excused themself from the room, leaving you with a sleeping Chanyeol. The more you observed how he snored lightly, how his hair fell right before his eyes, how his chest rose and sank the more he slept, you realized something. Something more important than anything else in the world.

You loved Chanyeol. You loved his passion for music, his goofy demeanor, how he hugged and kissed you, how proud he was to show you off to his members, friends and family. You loved everything about the man sleeping before you.

Anyone who tries chalking Sayaka’s fall into despair up to “she got rejected by the boy she likes” is so completely missing the point. The point wasn’t that “Waaaaah, Kyousuke likes Hitomi more than me.” It was about feeling as though she was a bad person, and the fact that she gave up so much of herself for someone who didn’t care.

Sayaka is not active on her want to gain Kyousuke’s love. She sees it as self-righteous and manipulative to do so. See when she calls herself “horrible.” for thinking about Kyousuke giving her more than a “thanks” for using her wish on him. She isn’t proud of her want for Kyousuke to love her. She has a narrow black and white view of the world, and doing a good deed while expecting a reward isn’t perfect and selfless so she rejects it.

When Madoka comes to Sayaka after Hitomis talk, Sayaka is unable to understand why, because she had the passing thought “what if I hadn’t saved Hitomi.” That was enough to condemn herself. Just a thought in her head. She’s heartbroken over Kyousuke, but she’s also having a crisis at the idea she might be a “bad” person. And the first signal of the curse growing in her soul gem? Comes after she takes out her feelings on Madoka. She runs away crying at how she treated her best friend, that scene didn’t involve Kyousuke in any way, it was her despairing over how she hurt someone she loved.

When Hitomi and Kyousuke get together, Sayaka sinks deeper into despair, but her response isn’t some nice guy “why did he reject me when I did this for him” it was fighting more familiars and doubling down on the selfless act.

“I’m going to be a different kind of magical girl. That’s what I’ve decided. I won’t screw anyone over or take anyone for granted. And I won’t associate with anyone who does.”

She sold her soul for someone who doesn’t care about her, and all she cares about is paying recompense, because she’s convinced nobody could love her now. She doesn’t have a soul and she has hurt or thought about hurting the two closest people in her life, and has decided all she’s good for is fighting witches.

The train scene is a realization of her feelings. It’s admitting she wants to be rewarded, but nobody gives a shit about what she’s doing. The fact two misogynistic pigs consider people like her subhuman is the tipping point of realizing she wants so badly to be loved and seen and rewarded for her acts, but in the end, she can try all she likes and nobody gives a shit.

Finally let’s look at her speech to Kyoko before her death.

“I can’t even remember what was so worth protecting anymore, I’m drawing a blank. Hope and despair means good and bad have to equal each other out right? That’s what you said or something like it. I think I understand what you mean now. The good thing is I saved a few people. The bad thing is, I got angrier, and my heart filled up with envy and hate. It got so bad I even hurt my best friend. For as much happiness as you wish on someone, someone else gets cursed with equal misery. That’s how it is for magical girls. And that’s how it is for me.”

That speech is not “Oh, I got rejected and now I’m sad.” It’s “I have looked up to the ideals of justice for so long, but in the end, pure justice and selflessness does not exist, and I understand that now. I am not proud of the person I’ve become, and I’ve become this way because I have ruined my own life trying to please someone else.”

Her final line is not a condemnation of Kyousuke or Hitomi but herself. “I was stupid. So stupid.” None of this was ever because “boy reject me.” It was because of her own actions and feelings that she fell into despair.

Takeaways from Therapy Game: Restart Chapter 03

Yeah, there was no chapter in the last issue of Dear+ for 2019, but it’s okay! We’re starting 2020 with a bang! Happy New Year to us! 🎉🎉🎉

So this chapter was great! Before I begin my takeaways:

Given the way the chapter ended, I think we’re going learn more about Shizuma, esp. regarding his mindset and emotions post-break-up with Yuka.

                                       - From my first takeaway post about the first chapter.

Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to happen, especially with the way the story is progressing at the moment. And I’m actually glad. I think this story is focused on, more than anything, Minato’s growth. But we’ll see how we go.

Alright, from this chapter:

MINATO’S FLOWER 😭 The story features this flower he has been caring for, and tbh I didn’t think it was suuuuuuuper important, but now I think it kind of is. I think it’s a metaphor for his growth, his feelings, and just him in general. (I’M PROUD OF YOU, MINATO, MY SON 😭) 

Minato is so considerate, to the point where he would willingly let himself suffer, all by his lonesome, if that meant Shizuma wouldn’t get hurt. He cares for his friends and Mama at the bar deeply, and it just touches my heart.

The nurses at Shizuma’s veterinary hospital... have a method to their madness. Iiiiiiiiiiiinteresting. I wouldn’t condone it, but I get it. (The Director seems to be a super nice one though!)

WAAAAAH, Tatsumi. My (and Shizuma’s) knight in shining armour!

Shizuma, I’m proud of you. He’s not afraid to speak up when he needs to. 😭

Tenko had asked you to come over for a dinner she had prepared for just the two of you, her fingers had been burnt throughout the entire process, then there was the injuries she sustained cutting up the fruits and vegetables, but Tenko was A-OK!

She made sure it was both nutritious and delicious, she even taste-tested it! It was completely fine, she didn’t want to accidentally poison you, considering this IS her first time she’s brought you over for dinner...!

Things go well, you eat, a lot, she made a lot! Tenko’s smiling to herself throughout, yet a instinctual part of her tells her to remain ready, Tenko senses!

That... voice deep inside her was right, after you finish eating you had started to look slightly woozy, Tenko had asked only for you to reply with: “m’ okay”...

Then you gently rolled your head into the table, snoring, drooling over the table without a second to waste, Tenko couldn’t believe it! Did you not get any sleep before coming here, or is all you eat those icky sweets that only give you a fake boost in energy only to sneak attack you right later?!

Seems Tenko has to do everything...! She picked you up, bridal-style rather easily with a large huff, before running up towards her room and...

Putting you on the top of the bed, under the covers, after placing an tiny kiss, with an “I love you” at the end of it...

Kyaaah! Just Iike a real couple, you know? Tenko can barely contain her happiness, but she holds off until she exits the room, she’ll stay up until you’ve finished napping!

You should sleep, regain that energy, Tenko will NOT stop that progress, she encourages it!

Himiko Yumeno

It was a pretty fancy restaurant the two of you were at, you were buying mostly everything, then Himiko added her own finding which sounded easy enough... Financial-Maaaagic...

She liked the food, but the waiters kept giving her kiddie meals, but you... she felt it, a spell was cast on ya’, not any ordinary spell... a tiiiiired spell.... She could tell cuz’ you weren’t even teasing her...

... Then the tired spell overtook your body while you were in the middle of speaking with her, your eyelids frequently closed until you had sunk towards the table, laying your head to restore MP...

...

How can Himiko join ya’? She wants in, she gently rested her head down after scooting next to you, then suddenly the two of you were sleeping in an expensive restaurant together....

How magical... she doesn’t even need to count sheep, she intertwined her hand with yours, giving your face a quick glance before...

... Yaaaaawn...

She left sleep overtake her.

The staff didn’t kick you out, just warned you to not do that again in any eating establishment, so the two of you apologized.

Angie Yonaga

Angie had asked you to come over, she didn’t own any fancy-smancy technology on her person so she had merely took you by your hand, then here you were!

Work had been hell recently, it’s been a while since you had hung around Angie, but today you had a break, so you thought you should spend as much as it as you could with her!

That is until you had to go back to some sleepless nights at work, you kept pushing forward, optimism is key!

She had laid out a... good-looking meal out for you, so you thanked her, she said she wasn’t hungry, Atua gave her all the nutrients she needed!

You chuckled before eating it all, but... how weird, your eyelids felt heavy, your body felt hard to move anymore, a yawn escaped your lips as you sink deeper and deeper towards the floor.

Angie stepped towards you, giving you a little peck on the cheek, you blinked. “Are you alright S/O? You look tired... oh! Atua told Angie, you hadn’t been getting the right amount of rest... that made Angie sad! Soooo...”

“Angie called ahead for that nasty work saying you needed a break, Atua said you likely wouldn’t accept that help, so he’s putting you to sleep for a teensy while till your all healed.”

“Nighty night, sleep tight.”

It was impossible to respond, you were wrapped in a warm tight embrace, your head pressed against something as soft as a pillow until you had fallen asleep...

When you woke up you were confused to find yourself in Angie’s bed, she told you that you just suddenly fell asleep after eating her meal, she called in for your job and told them you had fallen asleep and were in deep need of a break!

Wow, you couldn’t believe it yourself, you thanked Angie giving her a hug, somehow the light kiss she pressed against your cheek felt... weirdly familiar.

Kaede Akamatsu

You just went out for dinner after a piano recitall, your treat for how well she had done, quite well! Honestly, you were so... so proud of her!

You had been so excited for this one recital, it was an important one, the Kaede blew it out of the water, honestly you were waiting for this for so long!

...

So long that you had forgotten to sleep yesterday, yet you held valiantly and watched thoughought the show using energy drinks, you were pretty sure you could make it home...

You continued to eat your food, Kaede looked oddly at you.

“Are you alright? S/O you look like your on the verge of collapse, should we go home?”

“Huh...? M’ fine... completely okay...- see? M’...” ohhhh hh h h what the fuck, you suddenly faceplant into the table, you’ve just crashed.

Kaede let’s out a squeak, going over to your side to shake you awake, you messily pick yourself up to view at your girlfriend with a groan.

“... Give... Give m’eeeee five more minutes...”

“You literally crashed into your dessert, we’re going home.” Kaede took a handkerchief out of her pocket, quickly wiping the cake-smudge off your face before picking you up, you leaned against her side the entire world was... was really blurry, what’s going on...?

“C’mon, home.” All you could tell was Kaede carrying you alongside her, towards the car straight home... you give a quiet thanks in appreciation, she said to keep your sleep schedule correct from now on, wasn’t like you were alive enough to process any of it.

Tsumugi Shirogane

Tsumugi had asked you if she could come over to your place for snacks, you agreed, it was plain to see, she didn’t expect any for what was about to occur was going to happen.

She had went over, made some flirty lines, then she had been went to eat those chips you had, as you went to ate some lunch you had made while speaking to each other, simple still?

Tsumugi just continued to eat those chips, nice chips, until you had suddenly fallen over over that sanwitch you had made for yourself falling asleep, well, it looked more like a heart attack to her...?!

“KYAAAAAH! THE DEATH NOTE HAS STRUCK!” Tsumugi screams. “IT TOOK S/O! HOW COULD IT! DAMN YOU! I BET THIS WAS ALL ACCORDING TO HIS KEIKAKUUUUU!”

You suddenly fall over your chair when you hear Tsumugi screaming your name, you fall out of your chair, starting to scream with her, well you just started to scream, Tsumugi just blinked.

“Oh, so you were just asleep, I’m thankful.”

You continued to scream awfully confused, Tsumugi had to go by your side to comfort you about the whole situation to get you to stop.

Miu Iruma

Miu had told you she created a large meal, just for your sake, for some odd reason, she said she didn’t wanna even touch any of it, that it was just for you! You should be thanking her!

Well, after some pressing she explained, she wanted to make some sort of sleeping pill to make someone sleep immediately, that just knock em’ right out if they had insomnia...

You said you’d be fine with eating it, but seriously she needs to tell you before she uses you as a test for some invention...

Not suspicious at al- you don’t faceplant into the table after taking a bite of the meal, so you continue to eat... it all.

...

Miu tchs. “A failure, a fuckin’ shame, I totally got all the things perfectly down, heh... this misconceptions’t totally gonna be solved, next model Miu Iruma swears it-!”

Then you face planted straight down into the table, crashing down, as your world went immediately dark.

“... Oh shit! Hey- H-Hey! S-S-S/O what the FUCK! YOU CAN’T DIE ON ME- SHIT I’LL GET THE AMBULANCE FUCK ME WITH A CHAINSAW.”

“I-I JUST WANTED TO TEST A SLEEEEPING AGENT NOT THIS! I’MSORRYSORRYSORRY WAAAAAH!” You can hear your girlfriend rush towards the phone, you stir slightly in your sleep but stay down...

It’s a miracle Miu’s device worked at planned, even thought it took a long amount of time, about fifteen minutes of eating as Miu tracked down...

How could you be so stupid... he hadn’t even wanted to walk in on the sight of you, over the table fallen asleep over the meal that, you yourself had prepared, she sighed.

How stupid, she go over to shake you awake, you blink only to have a low key heart attack seeing the deep glare of Maki Harukawa staring back at you.

“Go upstairs, there’s a bed up there.”

“Yes ma’am.”

You rush up the stares, Maki’s glare teaching you the way throughout, jeez...

Maki goes to clean up the mess you made, you have to be better at staying awake...

Then you were picked up, you opened your eyes slightly while you were being carried finding the prim and proper Kirumi Tojo carrying you, you smiled underneath that cozy blanket she had given you before you fell back to sleep...

You woke up in Kirumi’s bed, a note that you fell asleep after eating her meal beside you, then that she was cleaning your house, you smile to yourself...

Late post? Haha. Well, we were busy that day. Woke up at 6am, me, my brothers and my nephews ‘who btw slept in my room the night before that’ 🥰. Looked out for our mom downstairs to greet her Happy Mother’s day wherein she was already busy gardening (with my sister). Then came kuya marvin & Kimmers (brother and sister in law). Don’t ask me where Jairus was, he’s not a morning person.

Anyways. It was Mother’s day. Yes. We usually go out of town to celebrate it, but this year we just had a simple appreciation day for our mom, ate bona, and Kim. We had a boodle-fight-kind-of lunch all together, in one long table. My God, this may be a normal thing for other families, but not - for us. We don’t live in the same roof. And we don’t have daily conversations.

Basically, elder siblings have their own families. Me - I’m always away. Studying(ows). Working. then our youngest- has his own world. We rarely talk to each other. SPECIALLY on a CALM tone. We were always BLAH BLAH BLAH , WAAAAAH, UGRRHHHHH, and AHSKlMZNZBSL. So I hope you get all the exaggeration of this post when you’ve already heard my normal voice.

You know, as I grow up, I couldn’t help but understand my mom more and more. Understanding her is surely a challenge. But once you got her point, you’ll love her. Just like other people, I think there were times when we have petty fights when we were a teenager. Even until now actually. Pero sya na yung pinagsasabihan ko ngayon. Lol. Adolescent period makes all parents “kontrabida” in a way.

I am so proud that she has raised me the way that you guys all know me. I am so happy that she’s becoming more of a friend to me lately when I don’t want to talk to anybody, and when I just choose to stay in my room the whole day. I became a responsible daughter when I seriously thought I couldn’t. I had to give up an 8 hour sleep during weekends because that’s my only “office” time in our family business.

Okay now I don’t know how to end this greeting 😂
