I know that it can be hard to try and help a friend with depression who lives next door, let alone on the other side of the world. Being able to physically be with that person can be helpful, but here are some tips on how to help them, no matter how far apart you may be.

1) Encourage her to be more active. Most people who are depressed isolate themselves. Isolation can make things worse. So gently encourage your friend to get out more. 2) Even though she can't see a professional right now, introduce her to alternative options.
