I promise I'm going to get back to reading at some point. This design review last week was the BIG one, and I'm so relieved it's over. Ever since the last layoff in February, it felt like a mad scramble to pick up the pieces and get prepped, and I got good feedback on my part of the presentation. So that part at least seems to make it slightly worth the amount of stress.

And now, we brace for potentially another layoff in the next few weeks (the rumors are already swirling... and this will be the third one in 6 months).

When Stelle next wakes and intends to leave her room she'll find a piece of paper had been slipped under her door while she slept. It's a pencil sketch like the many she's seen in Dan Heng's notebooks, but this one is a headshot of her. It's not the most realistic but even in his style the details shine, particularly the softness in the smile, the light in the eyes, and the way there seem to be stars in her hair. His signature is in the corner along with a short message: 'For my guiding star'

Stelle had spent an extra twenty minuets in bed, with her phone scrolling through video's and replying to messages. She didn't do this often, but she had gotten behind on a few messages, mainly from Serval and Gephard.

What started as one or two texts turned into a landslide of thinly vailed worried messages inquiring if they're younger sibling was okay. At least the siblings had enough tact to be indirect about it; most of the time. However, recently the number of text has slowed down to a manageable level—thankfully. Stelle isn't sure if they've finally decided to trust Lynx and stop worrying, Bronya found out and is distracting them, or Pela threated them with murder. Regardless, it's a relief to Stelle's own sanity; otherwise she would of had to rat them out to Lynx for her own sake.

After typing a few more replies, Stelle placed her phone on her nightstand and shifted her covers so she could roll out of bed— literally. Worry not, she has three fuzzy rugs by the side of her bed to break her fall, and she's been doing this long enough so that she knows how to avoid hitting her head on the nightstand.

Stelle laid there for a minuet or two, allowing herself to sink into the plush carpets before finally rolling onto her back and standing up. She stretched a little before padding over to her closet which was right by the door (which was a weird design choice, but okay). That's when she noticed the drawing.

Stelle felt her eyes widen as she bent down to pick it up. She didn't need to read the message to know who it was from, she could recognize Dan Heng's drawing style a mile away. Stelle smiled, studying every stroke; but now she wanted to draw him something too. Still smiling, Stelle returned to her bed only for her to stand on it in order to reach a small shelf that was mounted above. It was an ordinary white shelf she picked up from Belobog, but it held things Stelle consider 'priceless'; so far it includes pictures of herself with her friends and brother, the snow globe she picked up when she went on a mission with Bronya and Seele, a flower made from scrap iron, a bottle of marbles, the jade abacus she got from Jing Yuan, drawings from Pitch and her friends, and the hair pin Dan Heng gave her.

Carefully, Stelle propped up the drawing; wedging it between pin—which was on a stand—and the wall. She took a wobbly step back to admire the picture once more before hopping off and getting dressed for the day.

Answering below the cut!

FIRST- being the Indian food junkie that I am, we're picking you up from the airport and taking you straight to Priya for lunch. It is a restaurant that happens to be in Schaumburg which is a quiet little suburb nearby. There's an unlimited Dosa buffet that especially you and I can raid hahaha!

We can drive back and chill at our apartment for a bit while the kids nap and we sip on some cocktails while enjoying the view! Next, we're going to explore the river walk before ending up the Navy Pier! So much to do there!

The babies can enjoy the myriad of rides, we can snack on ice cream, cotton candy, and countless other things from the food court! We can ride the Ferris wheel at sunset and take in the views of the city and the lake!

We're ending the day at the Signature Lounge, which is a restaurant on the 95th floor of the Hancock Tower. Some splurging about to happen at the fancy place. We're going to look beautiful in our suits and gowns!!

BUTTTTT... we're obviously not finished yet.

We're taking you and the kids to Beatnick for breakfast the next day, which is a really pretty restaurant that is right by the river. Once we're all full and ready for the day, we're off to the Lincoln Park Zoo, where the little ones will have a blast! Then, we'll head to the park itself and have a picnic lunch by the lake.

Next, we'll head over to Millenium park and do some touristy things hahah! Click pictures by the Bean, Crown fountain, Buckingham fountain, the BP bridge, Pritzker Pavilion, Shedd Aquarium.. basically everything in that area.

(If you're a Home Alone fan, we can drive up to Winnetka to see the famous McCallister home!)

We'll explore downtown and do lots of shopping. Levi and Erwin are starting to regret this trip watching us enter yet another store just as they thought we were finished. Then we catch a show at the famous Chicago Theatre while Hange and Moblit watch the kids :P We finally end our grown up time with a ambient little dinner cruise on Lake Michigan!
