Delicious in Dungeon is such a damn good show guys, I know it's still ongoing but holy crap you gotta give it a shot! It's pretty much D&D + Adventure Comedy + Cooking Show, and it has such a cast of Characters™ that you'll find that you're way more invested than you ever expected to be! Also I feel like I have never seen an anime translate a one-panel manga zoom by literally zooming in on the frame, honestly talking about it does not do justice to how much it threw me off at the time. Look y'all, it's on Netflix, releasing an episode a week, we're only 18 episodes in so far, give it a watch!

Dunmeshi is sooooo good. I started reading it back in ~2017/18 i wanna say? I kept up with it for a bit but i stopped reading at about the uhhmm... I can't say bc that's actually a pretty big spoiler. the chapters w minotaurs... to put it vaguely. When I saw it got an anime announced I was SOOO excited.

Dunmeshi is really really really good, y'all. Watch the anime. read the manga. or put it off until the end of the season which AS OF RIGHT NOW I VERY MUCH SUGGEST- I think it would be a better experience as a viewer to only watch the anime right now!! We're getting into the Fun Zone.

I should probably... give it a better endorsement. The art's incredible, and Studio Trigger has absolutely delivered with the delicious animation every week. It's got great messages about the importance of taking care of yourself & your body. The world is so, so rich with lore and the characters are given so much depth. You can tell how much Ryoko Kui loves to explore and elaborate upon the world she's made. I love the blend of fantasy mixed with real world biology and ecology. Usually, when a fantasy series shifts from more monster of the week episodes to a fantasy politics focus, I feel thrown off because that's what the entire story becomes about, but Dunmeshi keeps the original goal tied to and dependent on the politics in a way that kept me fully engaged.

the whole thing has a Green Eggs and Ham kind of thing going on with it too. but like...environmentalist about it? like it was more subtle about the whole "hey maybe work WITH your current environment rather than against it" bit and then we found out what senshi normally does and subtlety just went right out the fucking window on that front.

i'm also liking the way it both explores the horrors of dying in a world where being brought back to life is common, while also kind of...poking fun at it? like its reminding me of a thing i heard something like "the difference between comedy and tragedy is how far from it you are" kind of concept.

like they are so fucking ... how the fuck do you spell it blase? with the little "/" over the e. that. the story is so bland in how it handles how people came back from horrific deaths and yet when the characters have to face things that remind them of their own it gets heartbreaking very quickly. but like...chillchuck. goddamn. we get just enough from his perspective that its harrowing but the way its shown to us the reader/viewer is like a comedy skit

I sigh out as I begin pacing back and forth in front of him. It shouldn't be taking this long. If Ruby isn't going to spill - Dean should have already given up and come back to help research. I am close to going down there myself and finding out what's going on when Sam lets out a huff of air.

"Come on," he says as he stands to his full height. "Let's go see what's going on."

Sam Winchester is a force to be reckoned with. He fights and kills monsters, vamps, werewolves and all other things that go bump in the night but I'm not afraid of him.

hi, do you have any manga/anime you'd recommend? I have not watched/read like anything popular, so no recommendations are off the table. I only just finished naruto and was like hey I actually really liked that (except for the huge flop at the end lmao) and decided to try some of the other big mangas and ended up reading one piece....... (some of the characters are fun, and the pirate setting is cool but oh god, at what cost???) anyway, i trust no one but you now, and I need a new hyperfixation or i'll die :)

I do need to clarify to everyone that I actually don't watch/read too much anime/manga. Especially recent popular stuff.

But I do want to push Samurai Flamenco onto everyone. It satirizes the super hero/power rangers genre and includes lots of gay shenanigans but also has some of the most insane plot twists of all time.

I am currently (slowly) rewatching Tiger & Bunny which is satirizing the same genres, has some more lowkey gay subtext if that's what y'all want, if you watch the non-netflix version there's LOTS of poking fun at capitalism/branding (but it's removed in netflix because they couldn't retain the licenses for the brands it was mocking...).

If you ned to watch just one... watch Samurai Flamenco

And honestly... that's the closest thing to Naruto I can rec? Like in terms of battle-y, action based stuff. Shounen-core stuff. And even then they're not that simialr... Naruto was an outlier for me in many ways, though I did looove Bleach until... I didn't love bleach.

Don't watch Bleach.

Haikyuu is a sports anime I had a lot of fun with but also nothing new has been announced for the anime in like… years… and idk if I can recommend hte manga because I find the volleyball scenes to be impossible to follow in the manga form shgkjsdg But the manga IS done!!

If you liked Sasuke... watch/read Hunter x Hunter and meet my pal Kurapika :) It ALSO has some massive hiatuses and it's source material isn't finished BUT it's getting an update VERY SOON and it's VERY EXCITING! HxH and its predecessor YYH inspired a lot of shounen tropes that exist to this day except... it does them well.

Stuff that I wouldn't necessarily recommend based on your Naruto enjoyment but like in general: Tongari Boushi no Atelier (Witch Hat Atelier), Dungeon Meshi (Delicious in Dungeon), No. 6 (I've only watched the anime and haven't read the source material, so idk what's better), and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. Oh!! And Blue Period (manga > anime)

- The S classes that I Raised (Webcomic) - Yup.

- Bucchigiri?! (Anime) - Turned this on in the background while watching my dogs as it's by the SK8 team and I thought it would be entertaining. It is certainly something I'll give it that. The character designs and extreme homo eroticism are fun, but the protagonists selfish incel energy is pretty annoying even if it is textually supposed to be a character flaw. I might watch more to see if they resolve that but eh, I'm not feeling it too much at this point.

- Delicious in Dungeon (Anime) - Yep yep.

- Choose Your Hero's Carefully (Webcomic) - Binge reading material this week was a ongoing webcomic that has the premise of "what if you were isekaid into Genshin Impact where the wish and level system were in Universe parts of the world and also you are a gay twink" which is. An interesting premise. I think the main characters have some chemistry so far though there's currently only 1 interesting side character to speak of. The art style is quite cute as well. Nothing spectacular so far but I'll come back for some updates.

- One Piece (Anime) - Got farther into One Piece and am finally getting to know this Law guy y'all are crazy over. And you know what you're right, I love him. He has a great dynamic with the Straw Hats in trying and failing to apply logic to them and his abilities and design are both very cool. I also like that he's a loser. Anyway Robin has been getting more screen time lately which is nice, and I'm liking the gag where Ceaser just keeps being their hostage even when they don't want to.

- Genshin Impact (Video Game) - Lantern Rite was fun! It was nice seeing a lot of the characters again (or for the first time in some of the Fountain characters cases) and the dialogue was pretty fun. I need to get level up materials for all my new characters and I might try an aggravate team.
