Now my little rant that I've been trying to keep in but imma just add it here: it seems that most of the haters throwing out nasty comments seem to be old BFU fans who only watch Ghost Files and can not let go of the past and does not realize that BFU has been over for almost 3 years now. Guess what?

It's totally ok to miss and grieve the loss of something you love, but continuously comparing Watcher to just BFU is tiring. Watcher is so much more than BFU, and if you guys would just simply read Watcher's company motto then you would know that.

So how about instead of living in 2018, you come and join us in 2024 and recognize that Shane Madej, Ryan Bergara, and especially Steven Lim are still fucking hilarious alongside the wonderful team at Watcher.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still kinda annoyed about what Watcher did despite the fact that they've gone back on it, but at the same time I hate all these channels posting videos like "the greediest channel on youtube" sometimes not even a day after the first "were quitting youtube" video came out. Like, if you can't even wait a day to make a video about a situation I think the call is coming from inside the house when it comes to greedy YouTube channels.

the watcher shit was disappointing and i’m so happy they corrected it. the apology and changes made were significant and sincere. i understand the idea they had, and i truly do respect their production value and how well they care for their staff, and now this is the best case scenario to come out of this mes.

but uh. some of y’all are fucking weird about steven?? there’s three people in charge of the company, ryan and shane definitely had to agree to this decision. i know they’re seen as their own little duo because of bfu, but steven is a staple! he’s one third of the Watcher Guys and i adore him.

the way you guys coddle shane sure is something. sure, he’s the most outspoken about “eat the rich” and all that, but he was included in the decision. it’s kinda gross how some of you went “nooo not my special little white boy :(( this is all on steven and maybe also ryan” that’s. hmm. not a fan

it was a bad decision, but kudos to watcher for back tracking and giving the option to support them. so. can y’all lay off my boy big apple steve he doesn’t deserve this

All the people who were like 'we didn't want high production value we just wanted you guys bantering' are sooo full of shit like ok I've got good news for you they have a whole podcast where they do that just sit in a room and banter and it's separate from the steamer and it comes out every week so you could watch them banter every monday for free...oh wait you don't watch/listen to pod watcher? I think one of most fascinating aspects of the watcher subscription service debacle is how it kinda broke open the floodgates for people to voice their frustrations with the content that Watcher produces.

Some of the most frequent and popular comments and posts I saw on the matter were about how

-Watcher does not make TV quality content

-No one is happy with the high production budget of these new shows

-Pretty much everyone has been supporting them this whole time just because they enjoy the chemistry that Shane and Ryan had on Unsolved

-All anyone was asking for was Shane and Ryan bantering behind a desk tbh

But the outrage generated by "we want to make more stuff that our fans don't like so please give us more money to do that" let people feel justification to say "hey we never actually liked any of the decisions watcher was making we just wanted to support the creators we liked, even though we don't happen to like what they're creating right now"

Wonder if this whole thing will change how they approach creating content in the future
