I’m excited to share all my WIPs, so here’s a short description of all my upcoming Top Gun works, including a little Next Gen thing. These are all over the place timeline-wise, and there are so so so many Jake and Jas ones…

JAKE + JAS

Meet the Parents (Jake’s Version)

✩ Jake takes Jas to Texas to visit the Seresin family ranch and his parents for the first time. Jas expects narrow-minded and very conservative people, but Lori and Joseph are total sweethearts.

Meet the Parents (Jasmine’s Version)

✩ Jake meets Jas’ moms for the first time, and it doesn’t go well. Sharon is skeptical of Jake and makes her feelings known, so Jas has to stand up for him and their relationship. He reveals to Jas’ other mom and older sister that he plans to propose.

Jake realizing he’s in love

✩ Standing in a hospital waiting room, watching Jas storm off to talk to a doctor, Jake realizes he might be in love with her and that their relationship is more than just sex.

Talking Body

✩ Jas and Jake have sex for the first time in her office on base. It’s the release of all the tension that’s been building for weeks while they’ve tried to keep the upper hand in their flirtation-ship.

Post Office Sex

✩ Jake leaves Jas’ office in a daze and has to face his fellow aviators, who seem oblivious to what just happened. Bob (Jas’ bestie besides @joaquinwhorres’ Caro) is immediately suspicious but doesn’t say a word.

Look at You Defending Your Woman

✩ Prompt request featuring Jake punching Jas’ douchy ex, who makes sexist and queerphobic comments about her while she’s not there. Not my favorite trope, but I like writing it.

Adoption

✩ Jake brings up the possibility of adopting while he and Jas are basking in the afterglow.

Admitting Feelings™

✩ After the mission, Jas texts Jake to meet her at the Hard Deck, and Jas finally admits that their thing is more than just sex (posting this next week!)

Bonus: Next Gen

✩ The kids of our favorite characters in the Motion Sickness Universe are up to their own schemes. They’re dealing with first crushes, high school drama, and trying to grow up, featuring OCs by me and @joaquinwhorres: Dalia Garcia-Alvarez, Jamie Lane-Seresin, David Floyd, and Marcus Fitch. Possibly a few others, too!

So the awesome news is that after several years I have finally regained the ability to wear skirts without leggings and short shorts and go barefoot, meaning I get to look super cute and not overheat as fast

The bad news is my skin apparently bruises if I lightly lean against something to reach over it if it doesn’t have another layer over top, meaning my legs are now green grey

Genuinely crying at work rn. They have thousands of old photos (from the 50s to the 90s) they asked me to scan (so they can create a digital archive). Today I found a photo from a 80s protest with a banner that says "FOR THE PALESTINIAN CHILDREN". It's been 40 years. It has been a lot more than that, actually. And still.

I hate, hate, HATE the term “affordable housing.” I hate that we’ve normalized it. I hate that we just accept that the majority of housing, a basic human right, is unaffordable to much of the population. Housing should be affordable as a baseline. If rich people want to add arcades and gold-plated hot tubs on top so be it, but everyone, everyone, regardless of income level, should have access to a clean, comfortable home with enough light and space to make life worth living.
