@unabashedbagelmoneydiplomat asked:
I find it a bit off that Fumi Kaneko is dancing Swan Lake with Vadim and not William Bracewell? Do you think These two will become a permanent pairing and may be replacing Vadim an Nela?
Not really, they've been performing with each other frequently for awhile now. It's not going to 'replace' his pairing with Nunez (who he also performed SL with). No pairing is absolute: Lamb performs regularly with Hirano and McRae; McRae also performs with O'Sullivan; O'Sullivan frequently performs with Sambe; Sambe performs with Hayward; Hayward (until recently) performed often with Campbell. Muntagirov himself also performs with Lamb. It's important for different dancers to partner one another to find out who works well together when last-minute casting changes are needed.
Also Nunez/Muntagirov make them a ton of money. They aren't going anywhere.

hi!!!!! Can you rank the Royal ballet principals like you did several years ago?💖 I love William/Matthew/Vadim and Nela/Sarah🥰 I don’t really enjoy Natalia and I also didn’t like Lauren’s swan lake (the one with William), it’s a shame because I love Liam’s version of SL and I love William but her hands & arms were just not…🥹
Hello! I'm always willing to rank and share my opinions lol. This is my ranking from favorite to least favorite.
Women:
Akane Takada
Sarah Lamb
Marianela Nunez
Francesca Hayward
Fumi Kaneko
Natalia Osipova
Yasmine Naghdi
Lauren Cuthbertson
Mayara Magri
Anna Rose O'Sullivan
Men:
Alexander Campbell
Vadim Muntagirov
William Bracewell
Steven McRae
Marcelino Sambe
Matthew Ball
Ryoichi Hirano
Reece Clarke
Cesar Corrales
I think having 19 principals is a bit ridiculous, especially since a few of both women and men shouldn't be principals, but that's just my opinion...

Since Campbell retired. They might be putting Hayward with Corrales for all the classical roles outside of Swan Lake? I guess that explain their casting in Cinderella. I thought Kevin would have tried to make Magri and Coralles a pair for the classics. Who was Akane pair with for Cinderella last season? Maybe they will have Hayward rotate partnership with Coralles, Bracewell, and Sambe
Unlikely.
Before the pandemic happened they were supposed to debut in SL together, but once she was paired with Bracewell they were never considered again for that. Not only that, but they said somewhere that they wouldn't like to be paired together most of the time, a ballet once in a while is fine, but not more.
If they know what's good they'll keep her with Marcelino and William most of the time, like they're already doing.
I think Takada was paired with Nicol Edmonds, who was replacing Sambè.

Sir, yes, sir!

SAN BENEDETTO – Questi i commenti del dopo Samb-Giana Erminio.
Franco Fedeli (presidente Samb).
Giorgio Roselli (allenatore Samb).
Poi siamo cresciuti noi e siamo riusciti a pareggiare.
Carlo Ilari (centrocampista Samb).
William Sala (all. in seconda Giana Erminio).
Simone Perico (difensore Giana Erminio).

If you don’t think Akane Takada is one of the most beautiful ballerinas in the world right now then you need to have your eyes checked.
Marcelino Sambe and Anna Rose O’Sullivan are so much fun oh my god!! Watching them puts such a massive smile on your face!! Loved them in Tchaikovsky PDD!
Francesca Hayward is a beautiful dancer, but maybe not the best Swan...also, I’m so tired of the white swan adagio.
I have only felt moved by one Manon performance and that was Viktoria Tereshkina and Marcelo Gomes. After the performance of Laura Morera and Federico Bonelli, my number is still at one.
After her performance in Concerto, I understand why Yasmine Naghdi is a principal. I’m still not a fan of the choreography, but she danced it so well.
William Bracewell is a beautiful dancer and he is so adorable and I love him.
Today I learned that you can, in fact, over act the dying swan. Thanks for that lesson, Natalia Osipova.
Marianela Nunez seemed so different in that Le Corsaire. Normally she’s super duper bubbly and smiley, but she was so...serene would be the word. Very mature, but in a good way. She did the Gamzatti variation which was slightly disappointing because I would love to see her Medora, but it was beautifully danced. Vadream’s partnering was fine, but anyone seems lackluster as Ali compared to Kimin Kim.

Well I was right about Hayward getting the cinema cast for Alice wrong about her being paired with Sambe. Casting for Alice is out. Francesca Hayward and William Bracewell for the cinema relay #royalballet #roh
Yeah I saw. Well, like I said, it was the only probable option along with O'Sullivan since no else had played the role before (except takada, but again, being always off stage with injury doesn't make her exactly dependable for cinema relays), there weren't many scenarios to pick from.
I love her with Marcelino the most, but I like her partnership with Will very much, so no complaints on that front.

Literally cannot recommend this one enough, since BalletBoyz Michael Nunn and William Trevitt did such an incredible job!
(more rambly thoughts here)
Go and see it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

Mighty Sports: Dubai International Basketball Championship
Tumblr media
Mighty Sports, a Philippines basketball team under Mighty Corporation and Mighty Sports Apparel and Accessories, has once again represented the country at the 2017 Dubai International Basketball Championship after the William Jones Cup.
After winning the title from William Jones Cup in Taiwan and silver medal from Merlion Cup in Singapore, Mighty Sports had only a couple of weeks preparation and went straight to 2017 Dubai International Basketball Championship.
The team was led by NBA veterans Hasheem Thabeet, Dominic McGuire, Justin Brownlee and Marcus Douthit from Mighty spurts. Coach of Mighty Sports, Chris Tiu and center Beau Belga bannered the local cast along with PBA veterans, JC Intal, Gary David, Ryan Arana and two-time MVP Willie Millier who were added in the team’s lineup. Amateur standouts Kiefer Ravena, Jeron Teng and Jett Manuel were also added in the team’s roster.
“Al Ahli is a tough team, No. 1 in their local tournament. They are led by former NBA players in Sam Young and Chiekh Samb. Plus they are the home team so it should be a big challenge.” said the former Gilas assistant coach.
“Hopefully, the mix of having some veterans and smart players will help our cohesion. Chemistry is something we are still working on. We will have one complete practice before the tournament,” said Mighty Sports coach.
Mighty Sports first appearance on the tournament didn’t went well from Al Ahli due to the lack of cohesion and team chemistry.
Al Ahli is known as one of the teams to beat in the annual basketball tournament that gathered some of the best club teams in the region.
On their second game, they lost to the Egypt national basketball team, Moatazpellah Okasha’s three triples during the period which lead the game to 45-33. Mighty Sports had a chance to bring back the game into overtime followed by two misses from Youseff Aboushousha. Moatazpellah Okasha ended the game with 24 points.
The team managed to beat Ball Above All with a score of 94-80 to end their stint in the tournament with a single win.
