Jaman dahulu banyak orang mendewakan IQ. 😂😂 #faktamenarik #thenewiq #sains #edukasi #rekomendasibuku #memorikerja #workingmemory #book #bookquote #psychology #psikologi

Blog Prompt #2
When it comes to remembering things my family always seems to use me as the one to have to remember the important things. But, I don’t believe that I have that great of a memory. There are a lot of things that help me to remember thing though. One main example is how I organize my important things to remember. I write it down in multiple places like, setting an alarm on my phone, writing a note on my computer, and even writing it down in a planner. It really helps me have things to be wrote down in multiple places.
Thinking ahead to my classroom I believe that there are multiple things that I can do to help my students to remember things. I think back to when I was in school and I remember this time where I had a friend in my class that would ALWAYS ask what was next (when we had the same schedule almost every day of the week.) My teacher finally got so annoyed at answering him every day (assuming she was annoyed, I really don’t know that for sure) that she printed off each of us a schedule for the day, as well as posted it in two different spots in the classroom. This actually helped my friend in the class and he quit asking about the schedule. Little things like this can really help students. Another thing that I remember from school that I plan to carry into my classroom is something that Dirksen also talks about in her book. It is the recall and/or recognition activity. I remember these being so helpful for me because in the recall activity, when there was something that I did not remember, I knew that was what I needed to study. With the recognition activity it can be extremely helpful when studying for an exam because you have the correct information, you just need to put things in order or match them to certain things.
It is so important to think about our cognitive abilities relative to memory when you are planning and designing learning experiences. One major thing that really stood out to me in Dirksen’s text were the implications for learning design. The three key things it talked about was, consistency can be useful, too much consistency is bad, and annoying variability is bad too. These really made me think about my elementary class. I am going to have to teach in all different types of ways and change things up so that students won’t tune me out. Each student is going to have different ways of remembering things so as a teacher I need to have very well rounded lessons so that my students are able to remember the most that they can!
Computer-based technologies have totally made learning easy with the touch of a button. You type a word into Google and all of a sudden you have everything about that word at the tips of your fingers. The internet has just made it easy to expand our knowledge wherever we are. As far as our memories go, I believe that technology is somewhat enabling our memories. The second you forget something you grab out that little pocket sized computer of yours and you have that answer. Instead of digging deep into our memory we just run to the computers for help. On the other hand, I really do believe technology is super helpful. Without technology at the tips of my fingers I do not think I would have some knowledge that I do. Because I am not ashamed to admit that the second I want to know about something, I go and look that up on my phone. (ask me anything about the moon, I have multiple apps on my phone who love to teach me things about the moon ;).
Overall this post is super ironic because I had to remember what I had just read in the text, then I had to remember those stories from when I was in elementary school. Ironic, but pretty cool. Our memories are incredible and super interesting to me!
