Who is Alex and what happened to him?

SOOOOO long story short...... alex was a character that was introduced in the VERY beginning of the story.... he was like kinda mean butttt he had som good interactions w the characters on th plane (right before the Event happens :/)

and then hes literally the FIRST person to die....??????? LIKE WHYYY EVEN do all these cool character moments if ur just gonna KILL him? i dunno. felt like a last minute writein..... pretty sloppy. one of my least favorite parts of the oracrys storyline tbh.

i kinda ignore that bit of canon (i can do what i want forever <3) and i have this whole au with what would happen if he lived..... hes friends with april (and they gossip sooooo much LOL). if you wanna see more check my #phoenix!alex tag on my main (i wanted a cooler name than alex lives and in the au his psychic powers is reviving himself.... kinda like a phoenix 😮)

I know we all still love Jake over here and it's only episode one but is anyone writing anything Eric x MC? I need some of this in my life but I'm too shy to write anything myself.

Hey, dear Anon. First of all, thank you a lot for asking. As you said, it's only one episode yet which makes it a bit harder.

I personally haven't seen much Eric content yet. But of course I also don't see every post. I saw that @zmayadw posted headcanons yesterday. Here is the link for it.

Otherwise I can recommend you to check for #moonvale eric x mc or #moonvale fanfiction. (In case you didn't know)

National Novel Writing Month, anyone?

Ok any of my mutuals or followers doing nanowrimo this year? I've been on the fence because since January I've already revised and polished last year's novel and written two novel-length fanfics this year, but I think I've finally decided I'm doing it. I'd love to follow anyone else who's taking the plunge.

I've done it the last two years and in both cases managed to complete a 50-70k word first draft during the month of November. This is generally followed by about 4-6 months of editing, revising, polishing, revising again, etc etc before it's in any kind of shape to consider querying. But I love the process of participating in this global first draft push - lots of fun people to talk to online about it, and I've got some local writer buddies who do it to, and most major cities have a local nanowrimo chapter where you can do fun things like go to local write-ins and (in Seattle at least) go for a writein on a long train ride, which was the most fun thing ever last year. (And I wrote 8K words on that six hour ride!)

Anyways, if you're doing it, please let me know!

turning 31 is weird, cause now i can feel so many parts of myself click into place. hobbies i like, figuring out personhood and what it means to me.

I'm trying to find comfort in writing again, outside of fanfic, and i seriously underestimated how hard of an endevore that is.

I'm actively trying to work towards my goal, and yet it feels in unreal. i just signed up for my first virtual writein via Shut Up and Write and I'm terrified. so many new steps forward i just hope i don't stumble too much

the forms did slowly become gibberish and at one point liam was the only votable character

i dont think i was there when the writein was going on cause i was busy irl but i do remember the forms other then that !!

i wasn't around early enough to hfjone for the voting to still be there, so take this with a grain of salt, but i remember comments saying that the elimination before airy slipped and disappeared for 7 months there was a write in answer, so obviously some people wrote in airy and then holy shit he actually disappeared!!! i also remember someone saying that at some point liam was the only option available to vote for? again maybe this isn't true and these comments if they are still there are probably buried but i remember people saying it!!!

Yep, thats all true, i remember it! The only-liam vote and the write-in vote were actually the same if i remember right (either that, or the write in vote was on episode 6's form, when both liam and bryce were up, instead of 7's). Airy disappearing in the following episode wasnt due to the viewer vote of course, though i imagine that, when adding the write-in option cheesy had probably figured people would put airys name in there. I wouldve if i were him, at any rate. Back when that episode came out and the form was open people were putting all sorts of silly things in there, though airy was the most popular. I could probably finds some posts talking about it if dug back far enough.

Almost all the vote forms were at least a little odd, slipping in coherency the longer season one went on until they became kinda nonsensical. Spelling errors, incorrect names, weird options, never-ending vote windows, all that. It was very much a topic of conversation at the time, even if only in passing. Tbh i think its kind of a shame that the forms arent linked under the episodes any more. It added a little extra flair to the expirence, even though i guess its not really needed as much now as it was back when the show was still presenting itself as being a bit more conventional, for lack of a better word.

It does make me wonder if anybody still has the links to those forms anywhere though

Week One: Trying to get motivated

We have survived the first week of Nanowrimo. How is everyone who is playing along doing with your goals? I just change mine to 15 scenes. I'm now at 4 scenes out of 15, but that involved rushing to edit today as I got little editing done throughout the week. Why?

Well, we went to my comic con (Fan expo) and though very motivating; I was asleep by the end of the day. At the fan expo, we went to three writing panels: Writing with emotion, shared storytelling, and writing a novel starter guide. I would highly encourage writers to go to events like this because they really help inspire, especially if you are feeling struck. And either way, it will make you a better writer. My take away was it is never too late to write, keep trying until you are published or publish your own work, and that shared storytelling is creating fresh stories and new communities.

Sadly, when I arrived home on the 3rd, I have a huge migraine attack from all the July 4th nonsense. It sounded like we were under siege. There was no writing/editing the 3rd-5th. There are still fireworks happening.

Anyway, I will do some vlogs on my progress and write-ins in order to keep me focused. Wish me luck and other campers let me know how you are doing.
