The impact Chris Fleming's Gayle series had on my humor is insane. Not even just the obvious one with Company is Coming or the “was anyone going to tell me” meme. Her getting a manslaughter charge at Cinnabon. The fact she picked up her son after seeing him wandering around the Costco. The way she says WiFi in Episode 1 . The episode where she think Bonnie’s stealing her couscous and then it turns out Bonnie brings her own couscous from home and for that Gayle “can only respect her”. The entirety of the Mall teens episode. Her drop kicking a mailbox. The one episode where she goes fishing with Bruce and catches a fish with her bare hands and screams into the canoe. Actually any scene with Bruce, Bruce Burgwinkle does such an amazing job playing the straight man. Her smashing her head through a window and going “Hi Bruuuuuuuuuuuuce”. That long unedited scene of Gayle escaping in her sea kayak with her couscous chest. “TUESDAYS. AREN’T. GOOD FOR ME”. That shot of her sticking her middle finger out the roof while flooring it backwards. "Jerry Garcia and the lesbian Agenda". Her stealing a pig and then getting attached to the pig. "I'm angry. I'm aroused". Her smashing her head through a window. Ina Garten being a trickster god figment of her imagination. THE YANNI CONCERT SCENE. Chris and his mom dancing around in matching pink activewear. Gayle and Bonnie passive aggressively talking shit about each others dogs (“I read in the times they tend to be bisexual”) Gayle's feud with Zooey Deschanel. The entire Christmas musical special. Her dressing as an egret to help her husband DAAAAVE and then LAUNCHING him over the finish line at a birdwatching competition. The entirety of her wedding. Her electrocuting herself to cook an apple pie. That entire scene of her trying to fit in with the new development by talking about iTunes. Saving the neighbors son from the perils of Radiohead with Lou Bega Mambo No.5. Getting obsessed with Co-ED acappella. I could actually go on for hours.

2024 Year In Review
2024 was another intense year. It was the first time in twenty years I wasn’t scoring a show for TV, and I got to concentrate on finishing albums and starting new projects. The year began with the premiere of my chamber symphony for Alterity Chamber Orchestra in Orlando and ended with guest-vocalizing with the Losers Lounge Band on a Bowie classic at Joe's Pub in NYC. I completed new albums for Xordox and Venture Bros, to be released in 2025. I released an Archer Soundtrack album and scored a Harry Smith film for L’Etrange Festival in Paris. Worked with Laura Wolf on a new project and premiered my Ensemble project at the Big Ears Festival in Tennessee. Recorded many overdubs for the next Foetus album, also to be released in 2025. Began a new series of sculptural wall pieces. We lost Phill Niblock in January and Steve Albini in May. We lost my colleague Roli Mosimann in September. I still woke up 5am in a panic on too many occasions. As a cultural omnivore, many sights, sounds and stimuli penetrated me.

RIP Mimis Plessas
Mimis Plessas, a giant of Greek music composition, passed away at the age of 99. In fact, he would turn 100 in just 7 days and a big tribute concert with him as a honorary guest in order to celebrate his 100 years was planned for October 10th.
Some interesting facts about Mimis Plessas:
He became the First Piano Soloist in Greece in a very young age.
He studied Chemistry in Athens and the USA. He was a Chemistry Honorary Doctor in the University of Patras in Greece and the Cornell University of New York.
He won the first Music Award of the University of Minnesota.
A little later he was ranked as the fifth best active pianist in the USA, no small achievement for a young Greek immigrant who was there for chemistry.
He started music composition in 1952. He composed music for 104 movies and 70 theatrical plays. He was quite probably the most productive film music composer in Greece, writing laikó songs, musicals and instrumental film music.
He had conducted several of the most famous orchestras in the world and he has recorded albums of his in the US, the UK, France, the Netherlands and Spain.
His album Ο Δρόμος (The Road) with lyricist Lefteris Papadopoulos and singer Yannis Poulopoulos is the most commercially successful album of Greek music domestically.
In 2001 he was awarded the Gold Cross of the Order of the Phoenix (which apart from a Harry Potter book is also a legit honorary order of Greece since 1926) for his contribution to Greek music.
Below are a few of my favourite compositions by Mimis Plessas:
Το Άγαλμα (The Statue, from The Road)
youtube
Του Αγοριού Απέναντι (To The Boy Over There)
youtube
Βρέχει Φωτιά Στην Στράτα Μου (It Rains Fire On My Way)
youtube
Θα Πιω Απόψε το Φεγγάρι (I Will Drink the Moon Tonight)
youtube
Οι Θαλασσιές Σου Οι Χάντρες (Your Sea-Blue Beads)
youtube
For anyone interested, Mimis Plessas also produced a lot of jazz music but because I am not into that genre, I wouldn't know what to recommend. But he wrote most of the shakes in Greek movies. For example, The Spider's Shake is his (sorry for bad quality). (Pay no mind, just another excuse for me to post Karagianni.)
youtube
And this slow sequence by Vouyouklaki is also his. (BTW this comedy is such a must watch if you speak Greek)
youtube
RIP Mimis

Tagged by @kizzyedgelll to do this questionnaire tag game! Thank you Laro for the tag!
What was the last thing you drank?
Water. :)
Where was your profile picture taken?
It's this photo of Yannis, so I'm gonna take a wild stab and say it was backstage before or after a show. I don't know what he's looking up at, but he's Lookin'.
Worst pain ever?
An abscess tooth that has since been extracted... Do not fuck with tooth pain, y'all.
Favorite place you've ever traveled?
Chicago so far!
How late did you stay up last night?
Around 11 PM I wanna say? I did end up waking up in the middle of the night though.
If you could move, where would you want to move to?
I'd like to move to the UK (maybe Manchester specifically?) if we're not taking money/applying for citizenship into account. If so, ironically, Chicago probably.
What do you collect?
Vinyl (the records), beanies (the hats) and enamel pins!
Favorite day of the week?
Saturday probably!
Amusement park or concert?
Oh, concert, hands down. I... do not like amusement parks. I live near an infamous one in my state and still feel this way to this day.
When was the last time you cried?
Last week, i think?
Who took your profile picture?
No idea, but they're lucky they met the band.
Who's the last person you took a picture of?
Not to sound egotistical, but myself LMAO.
What's your favorite season?
Fall!
If you could, would you have any other career?
If I had it my way, I would not be working at all. However, for the sake of this question, yeah. I do not like how stressful my job is.
Who's your celebrity crush?
Too many to list here to be honest...
Are you a good influence?
That truly depends on who you ask! I do think most people would say no though and I'm sure they're right. I'm definitely not where I would like to be at age 31.
Does pineapple belong on pizza?
No. <3
You have the remote, what are you watching?
Probably some kind of game show... Fun fact about me, but I fucking love watching game shows and have since I was a kid!
Tagging @restedlimbs, @ghostlyvalour, @perotovar, @vampiregerard, @bruceewayne and anyone else who would like to do this! :)

there is not a day that goes by that I am not thinking about Chris Fleming.
Tumblr media
and im not talking about company is coming, im talking about at any given moment I am stuck on one of a few given verses of im afraid to talk to men. Mike Rob Richard and Allen, baby. I’m talking he-niece of Lucifer. Im talking total c-section, I know it’s for babies but I need it. I do not have a curly bang shag going to not pay homage to the original supreme Shetland pony — speaking of Shetland ponies, I’m also deeply involved in the Melissa strype cinematic universe, and believe her soul-level attachment to the movable toy pony is part of what drew her and Chris to work together — who brings so much to the amateur modern dance enjoyers community, and who ruined my enjoyment of Sufjan Stevens with his dead on impersonation until I learned to lean into it.
I have long held the two coasts of my gay little comedic world together by strings attached to Chris Fleming (east) and Brian Jordan Alvarez (west), and I have no one to talk to about this this stop motion animated weasel who lives in my cerebellum at an outdoor Yanni concert giving an Emmy worthy character performance to an undeserving public.
tl;dr: Chris Fleming lives in my brain and pulls the strings of my frontal lobe like remy the rat and I’m seeking a support group about it

On 18th April 2024 75 CRT Televisions were taken to London. People on the street were given a cassette player loaded with the song you’re hearing right now. They were given the chance to create their own Music Video, moving their eyes between the screens to create their own edit. Whilst listening along with young Tony and young Yannis, people were able to watch themselves in a create feedback loop - completing the triangle of collaboration between Tony, Yannis and themselves. The same is true whenever they listen to the song, or watch the music video, like you, right now.

Young Yannis - Freddie Bennion
Footage of Tony Allen: Extract from Tony Allen - Tribute to Art Blakey concert 19 february 2016 at La Maison des Arts de Creteil as part of the Festival Sons d’Hiver filmed and produced by Oléo Films Thanks to all those who came to experience the artwork and become part of the video.

Omg Taylor you appear here? Tell us about your Foals concert please! And we miss you here <3
Ahhhhhhhhhh hi J! I miss this place too and am happy to be back! I'm thankful for your content like always. I genuinely appreciate you on my dash sm.
The Foals show at the Belasco was the best show of theirs I've ever been to!! The band's energy was even higher compared to last year, perhaps because Yannis is feeling better and Walter is back? :) Also that setlist!!! I never thought I would see Snake Oil and Birch Tree in the same show, it brought back the BEST sounds (and WWD, Milk, wow I could go on).
The venue was also the smallest I've been to for them and basically the entire pit was one massive ball of energy. We were all in unison for singing and jumping and you could tell it made the band feel really good. I was so happy that they made this extra show for us, in LA of all places. Also, these generous guys let me have their spot at the barrier at one point during the set so I got to be right in front of Yanniiii when he came over for a guitar solo and he gave us a little rare smile :') Other times I was just staring at Jimmy shredding during those flashing lights around him and kinda feeling surreal and stuff :3 This show was just perfect sonically and reminded me of how talented this band is and how much I love them.
Thank you for reaching out J!!! It is so nice to hear from you and I hope you are doing okie. <3

rank the members of foals and everything everything best to worst at fortnite and why
best - jack bevan. konnichiwa playstation gamers. we know this.
jon. got into it ironically after seeing some deep fried memes when he was single in 2020. cracked solo dubs on the reg for a while, and the muscle memory never leaves you. spearheaded the e_e_ minecraft gig after attending the fortnite travis scott one.
jimmy. not a gamer but weird enough to be a fortnite enjoyer.
alex. gamer but Normal so not practiced in the elysian fields of Tilted Towers, the exact reverse of jimmy.
yannis. doesn't like playing with jack because it emasculates him.
mike. i just think he's a good uncle yknow. i don't even know if he has niblings but if he did his nephew was like 'check out this shark skin' and so he spent a bank holiday weekend at his parents' house playing it with him.
jeremy. not in his stepdad remit but he likes the concerts.
worst - walter. he has withered skeleton hands that know nothing but bass. if fortnite had come out in 2006 he'd be second best though. i bet he was Nasty at halo reach.
(edwin. he's dead [in band terms] and therefore bad at fornite [in real terms])

Hey Kam! 1, 2, 9, and 13 for the music asks!
Hi Maddie!
1. An album you can’t stop listening to lately.
Gonna say This is Happening by LCD Soundsystem because it’s one I’ve been coming back a bunch it seems.
2. An album you wish you could hear again for the first time.
Oh man, that’s tough just to choose one. I’m gonna say American Idiot by Green Day only because I was exposed to that album when I was really young (I was, like, 11/12) and to experience it now when I’m older and better understand it would be nice.
9. Name a musician who is no longer living who you wish you could see in concert.
100000% Kurt Cobain/Nirvana for me. I would give anything.
13. If you could talk to any musician, who would it be? What would you want to say?
Hate that my first thought was “Well, I’ve always wanted to ask Yannis about his garden…” Don’t care about his music prospects, just care about his city garden apparently LMAOO.
Thank you so much! 😃
