so like
Yaz was born in 2000, and definitely grew up in a post-9/11 world. having also been a child/preteen around the same time, i can attest to how prevalent negative stereotypes about Muslim people were even in the early 2010’s. so do we think it’s possible that Yaz’s near-debilitating distrust of strangers is a result of growing up in that kind of environment and facing that kind of racism and xenophobia?

camp fam as D&D 5e classes and subclasses
Darius Bowman: College of Lore Bard. Between knowing a lot about dinosaurs and his constant encouragement of the group, Darius fits very neatly into this role
Brooklynn: Inquisitive Rogue. Girl is constantly snooping, has a penchant for lockpicking, and is experienced in a number of fields. she is definitely a rogue.
Yaz Fadoula: Way of the Open Hand Monk. obsessed with honing her body and a very accomplished athlete who, on multiple occasions, just dodged dinosaurs bites very easily. unarmoured defence is way high with her.
Sammy Gutierrez: Circle of Shepherds Druid. look, a cattle rancher is more or less just a shepherd, and with Sammy’s insightful nature and proficiency at handling animals, the supportive Shepherd druid works so well for her.
Ben Pincus: Drakenward Ranger. now i know y’all are probably thinking beast master would make more sense, but most beasts don’t match up to Bumpy, whereas the drake pet can grow to a large size and can be ridden. couple that with Ben’s ability to survive on his own and forage for food and he’s the perfect ranger.
Kenji Kon: Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer. Kenji doesn’t have many skills, but he does have innate power thanks to his family name. he’s got a lot of wealth, much like many dragons do, too, and even if he’s obnoxious, he’s still very charismatic.
