Can't help but think about how much of Jiang Cheng’s 'I am nothing without my core' outburst when he wakes up after losing it is not because he needs to be the best but because he just lost the only thing he could do for his mother after she died. If it would've mattered less to him once he'd gotten the time to mourn her loss. If he stays up at night thinking about how all his accomplishments so far were possible because of Wei Wuxian's core, and how that would've disappointed her even more. If he thinks that she would've let Wei Wuxian give him his core had she been around back then, and feels an old but horribly familiar anger burn through him. If he still curses her for her last words to Wei Wuxian and curses himself for parroting them. If he curses Wei Wuxian for believing them.

Can't help but wonder if his dedication to the sect was to protect its people and those who depended on it just as much as it was about continuing a legacy, upholding his duty. If he really did all that to make his dead mother proud and earn his dead father's respect, if these considerations ever took first place in the light of day where he had a sect and a nephew to look after, or got relegated to the late hours when he lay awake, haunted by the past. Can't help but wonder if he ever saw Jin Ling cry, realised that his own mother would've scolded him for showing weakness, and decided that what she thought mattered less than he'd realised.

Can't help but wonder how much his mother still haunts his life.

You choose three writers/artists/fanwork creators based on anonymised ads.

You make a request of each of them based on what they enjoy creating.

You are assigned one request to create for, based on your offer.

You receive a gift from one of the creators you chose.

I feel like Yin Yu would be in a constant state of stress and survival, but sometimes he would have his stress going up highly (for reasons or not, after stress can not be controlled).

After some centuries, he would develop more and more white hair linked to his stress. (not the Marie Antoinette syndrom, but it could also be pretty -)

At the beginning, he would try to cut the white hairs or hide them, but after getting used to it, he would just start letting them show, not having the time to care about them.

And I can see Hua Cheng getting the hint to give more holiday or resting days when he understands where the white hairs came from.

I also headcanon Mu Qing with silver hair, so I can imagine Xie Lian surprised af first, but would braid Yin Yu's hair, with a mix of black and white hair making random and small braids on his head.

ling er is the only one who stayed in the room with chengze after he is supposedly poisoned. Are they hinting that she is going to join the dark side?

as much as I’d like to see chengze in love, it seems impossible. boy is so evil, arrogant and selfish that he might pretend to like her to get the resources she has (her family’s influence in military).

also the new ling er doesn’t seem like ling er. the actress in first season completely suited the role.
