Something really funny about growing up catholic then becoming Irish pagan later in life is looking at the way they treat sex. Like Catholics are all about repression and repentance and divine pleasure in pain but always pussyfoot around sex itself. Like the most important woman in their pantheon gave virgin birth and then they never talk about how Jesus’ siblings came to be because Mary is just always a virgin.
But sex is like core to a lot of the mythology of Irish paganism. The tain starts with a section titled ‘pillow talk’ where two leaders have post coitus convos about how powerful they are. Every Samhain, an morrigan and an dagda fuck sick nasty. Sovereignty deities offer sex to the human rulers to legitimize their rule. Unwanted or unethical sex is punished (ie Áine biting the ear off that king who raped her so he couldn’t be king anymore) and consensual sex is praised and venerated.
Like sex is engrained into the mythos of both religions, but the way it’s treated and handled is soooo different. I wanna do more analysis about this later, but this has been ruminating in my brain for a bit

The Savior
@things-arent-what-they-seem66
Everyone has heard the tale of Jesus of Nazareth, of how he singlehandedly saved every single soul with his sacrifice. Before that, he helped hundreds upon hundreds of lost lambs and healed them. He was a savior to all sinners, and he still is.
--
Yeshua was making his way to the head court of all Heaven. He had just been informed by his own father that he was to attend and to see what the matter was all about. According to the Lord it was of vital importance that he be there.
Yeshua didn't understand why but he didn't question it. If his father said that he should go, then he should go.
As he approached the building two of his older brother's soldiers stood guard. They tensed at the sight of Heaven's prince which confused him. Normally they were laid back with him, maybe not with Lute, but still.
Yeshua: Greetings ladies.
Exorcist 1: Good afternoon your highness. What are you doing here?
Yeshua: I was informed that there was a meeting that I must attend. So, if you'll excuse me.
The two exorcists gave each other a nervous look. Quickly they blocked his way through the doors.
Exorcist 2: I, I'm sorry your highness but we cannot allow that!
Yeshua: Why not?
Exorcist 1: (gulps) Because...because.... (sighs) because we were told by the head seraphim to not allow anyone in who isn't personally apart of the council.
Yeshua: But I am on the council, just because I don't always show up doesn't mean that I am not a part of it. It's the same with my father, so please if you would let me in.
While he said it firmly, he did his best to appear pleading to them. Once again, the two gave each other a look but eventually relented.
Exorcist 1: Adam's not gonna like this.
Yeshua smiled at them: Let me handle him when the time comes. You still did amazing with your duty, as you were soldiers.
The female angels moved aside for the prince, and he pushed forward the doors. Unaware of what awaited him inside.

Happy early birthday! I know it's not for a few weeks, but I thought it might be a good idea to get a head start on it. This is a present from both me and things, hope you enjoyed part one and what will follow!

Happy Resurrection Day! 🕊 "Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and He raised from the dead on the third day." (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
"He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief (..) Yet it was our weaknesses He carried; it was our sorrows that weighed Him down.
But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be made whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.
He had done no wrong (..) Yet when His life is made an offering for sin, He will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life (and) when He sees all that was accomplished by His anguish, He will be satisfied (..) 'My righteous Servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for He will bear all their sins.' " (Isaiah 53, various)

She Broke the Bread
Tumblr media Tumblr media
from The Gospel According to Chris
The sun rested low on the horizon when Yeshua stepped into the clearing. She stood tall, her spirit rooted like an ancient tree, her presence radiant as the first morning. There was no crown on her head, no titles to announce Her. She didn’t need them. Her truth was felt before a single word left Her lips.
With a soft voice, She called out to those nearby, “Come. Sit. Eat.”
And they came.
Poets with ink-stained hands, prisoners with haunted eyes, prophets wrapped in silence, and skeptics with folded arms. There were elders whose names the world had forgotten and children who had only just learned to speak. All of them drawn, not by doctrine or demand, but by the warmth in Her voice and the stillness in Her gaze.
She moved among them, a vision in earthen robes and sacred jewelry, offering pieces of bread from a basket held close to Her heart. The fish She had fried Herself, with oil warmed by love and seasoned by memory. When someone hesitated at the edge of the gathering, unsure if they were worthy, She looked into their eyes and smiled.
“There is no table too holy for your presence,” She said.
No one was turned away. No one sat alone.
Because Yeshua knew that hunger is never just of the body. It lives in the soul—in the ache to be seen, in the longing to belong. And on that day, She fed them all. Not just with food, but with welcome. With warmth. With a reminder that they were never outside the circle of love.
As the people ate, laughter rose with the scent of bread. Hands reached for more, not just for nourishment, but for connection.
And Yeshua, standing among them, whispered what would echo through generations:
“I don’t care where you’ve been.
I care that you’re here.
Come eat, beloved.
You belong.”

Could anyone pray for me and my mom?
My mom, has been working a very harsh job under INHUMAN timetables, and after a fire accident she had, her left arm is in trouble. Blood vessels of hers has been injured by the heat and sometimes due to tiredness and pressure she experienced, her arm doesn't seem to function well, she visited doctor a few days ago and she will quit her job soon, until then pray so her arm can be healed
And for me. Since school started I'm going through periods of deep depression and stress. I face a harsh daily in school (for which I'm not willing to go into depth) and I just don't feel myself anymore and just imagine its not even a the second month of school! I've fallen into sin and past addictions and I lost all motivation and (mental) strength for God. I try to get up and keep on going but it's so difficult when I hardly get out of bed everyday. I've started feeling like I'm not even a real Christian anymore and when I try to fix things I always fail

It is far more fulfilling to think of Jesus dying on the cross as an act of solidarity, rather than one of sacrifice.
In this essay, I will...
