Yone's kisses are unique—they can't quite be described in the normal terms you might use, like 'passionate' or 'intense'. His deep kisses feel like poetry, almost abstract: like a pine forest under a shawl of fog. The steady roll of dark storm clouds, not quite raining over you yet, but whispering with a looming promise of thunder. Leather gloves. Not big on PDA, Yone will keep your kisses quite chaste and gentlemanly in front of other people. The classic knuckle kiss is a favorite of his. He'll often gently bring your hand to his pillow-soft lips if feeling affectionate while in meetings with band managers or discussing business with venues.

That being said, Yone loves to stand behind you and rest his chin on the top of your head whenever you're waiting in line somewhere. If you protest with an 'ow' when his bony chin boinks your skull he'll murmur a "sorry" and press a light kiss your head. Then he puts his chin back, albeit more gently this time.

Yone always tastes great (a very subtle, clean wintergreen flavor) , even though you never see him popping mints or chewing gum. How does he do it...? You ask him how he avoids chronic coffee-breath but he just shrugs. "I don't do anything special," he claims. You're sure he's got some super-secret stash of high-powered mouthwash hidden on his person at all times but, as of yet, its existence is sadly unconfirmed. (Not to say he won't let you feel him up with the excuse of looking for it.)

Often, Yone's mouth is freezer-cold from his iced coffee. His chilly tongue never fails to send a shiver down your spine.

Speaking of his tongue—boy, does Yone ever know how to use his. He likes to lick long the ridges on the top of your mouth, the back of your teeth, and along the length of your tongue. Never fear because he's appalled at the mere thought of the washing machine maneuver. Even if you're in a sloppy make-out sesh he keeps it classy.

Yone's got some minimal pull with the more popular gossip mags, and he uses it to make sure pictures of you kissing stay out of the tabloids. He absolutely hates the idea that your relationship could be subject to public scrutiny. If someone manages to get a picture of you two in an intimate moment, he's not above using his influence and/or money to make sure it's not released.

Kissing Yone with his hair down is a recipe for disaster. There's just so much of it and it gets everywhere—before you know it he's wincing as your fingernails accidentally tug his hair and you're pulling red out of your mouth. If there's a hair tie on your wrist, Yone snags it. When you open your mouth to protest the theft he shuts you up with his mouth on yours.

Sometimes the rest of the guys are dorks and act absolutely disgusted if they catch you kissing Yone. "Ewwwwww," they laugh, prompting Yone to roll his eyes, annoyed. "I hate seeing Mom and Dad kiss." (Gender matters little in this teasing scenario. Yone is 'Mom' either way.)

Yone's a workaholic, so of course he gets a bit delirious and silly from lack of sleep sometimes. If he's giggling and rapid-fire pressing kisses on all your birthmarks, it's probably time to make that man go to bed. Nothing says you can't enjoy the extra affection before he passes out, though.

Though he gets in the zone and may not give you a deep, sensual kiss while he's working, Yone always returns a kiss when you give him one. Giving him a quick peck while he's scrunched over his work computer is a surefire way to steal a little loving while he's otherwise occupied.

----  Meeting Him ----

- You met him back in Japan, back when you visited clubs and actually managed to catch his DJ-ing before he quit. It was underground but it was unique. Experimental stuff that just somehow still sounded so damn good to you. You found yourself drawn to him and eventually going up to talk to him during a break between sets. He fell in love with you shortly after, he had a small but loyal fanbase and having someone like you appear at every single one of his performances really weakened the walls around his heart.

- You spent college dropping by any of Yone's appearances throughout your fall quarter and as school went on and as winter break came over, you finally found the time and energy to hang around and visit his other appearances too. Some fun mall gigs, cute online streams in the day, even managing to land a dj-ing gig at a local dance competition. You could tell it was hard, he had a distinctive style that was as much a pro as it was a con and eventually he faded away from performing at all in person.

- It was his 'Final Performance' so the speak. That late night in the club, a drink in hand, bright smiles as you had fun with you friends while watching the elusive masked dj on his little stage. It was his final performance. Now or never to confess your love for both him and his music, your nerves straight ice as the night slowly drew to a close. Unbeknown to you, he too, felt exactly the same as he watched you from the stand. The passing comments and small conversations the two of you shared over the months left him yearning for something more with you.

- And it was sweet when it finally happened. Uncharacteristically gentlemanly coming from a DJ. You stayed as the club begun to close, Yone walking up to talk to you just like any other time a friendly conversation before he offers you a small giftbag, softly telling you its a personal Christmas gift for his most loyal supporter, telling you to open it when you're home. You thank him, pushing yourself to exchange numbers with him so you can give him feedback when you're home safe. You curse as you miss your chance to confess in the heat of the moment.

- As you return home, you pull a thin package beautifully wrapped in the little bag. You unwrap it to find a homemade mixtape, all of your favorite songs from him paired with special unreleased works that he think you would like. How he even managed to know which were your favorites shocked you honestly. As you look into the bag further a sweet handwritten note confessing his budding love for you neatly written in decorative paper falls out. Poetic words with the neatest handwriting, you could swear the paper itself was scented too. Your heart races as you listen to the CD while reading the pages of his feelings. The first thing you ever messaged him was a cute " Yone, I love you too." Which Yone has graciously screenshotted and looked back on often over the years.

---- Heartsteel / Dating ----

- You two are the loving parents of Heartsteel, the comforting consistency, the caring confidants of the group. There was just something nice about seeing Yone and his partner of almost ten years still going strong in such a stable relationship that causes all the boys to look at you with such respect. You have fun with them all, you work hard late nights supporting Yone and his work, you look out for him as he looked out for you. You were as much part of the gang as he was.

- Surprisingly Yasuo loves you just as much (platonically), he's happy to see Yone just genuinely be so at ease around you, to have someone be there for his brother that can actually make the man relax? You have his approval. After moving on and joining True Damage, Yasuo would worry seeing Yone so alone, so having you appear and provide his brother with such companionship made him happy. Though, Yasuo does tease Yone a lot, every time you meet him he always asks you if Yone has proposed. He can't understand how you two have been together so long yet not gotten married.

- Dates with Yone were always so calming. Bringing you out to hot spring inns during stressful times, inviting you to cute hidden cafes to work together, comforting jamming sessions late night at his place if money was tight. Nothing embarrassingly over to top yet not so casual that you felt like the two of you weren't doing anything special. There was just something about the way he just knows what you need. As the years went by you realized it was just how Yone was, he was an attentive guy and especially so when it came to you.

- Also it was no secret that Yone looked at self care as a priority and slowly you picked up on his little habits too. Simple yet small adjustments to your own habits. The way you two would go through the motions of burning incense and making tea early in the mornings for a quick meditation and mindfulness session. The loving way he would cook healthier meals for you, how he would be the one buying bath and beauty products, how he would motivate you to follow him to Kendo lessons to exercise, how he would leave books filled with comments on post-its around the house for you to read when you had time. The softest part was how he never seemed disappointed even if you said no to any of this, he was caring and patient after all, he'll win you over into self help eventually.

- The biggest change with the new popularity of Heartsteel was seeing the sheer number of fans Yone started to get. You almost forgot what it was like being his fangirl honestly, so used to your life with him after his semi-retirement, it was weird suddenly being thrown back to your college days of being in love with that DJ at the club. Sure things were different, you came home to him, you slept by his side every night, you heard all his music before it was released, but still... There was something about the way your heart thrums as you stand in the audience watching Yone lift his mask to throw you a charming smile. There was something about the way you knew when he laughed softly on stage, when he waves to the fans, when the crowd cheers, that the cool DJ standing up there was all yours. Oh it made you smile just as bright.

---- During Touring Season ----

- Being together for so long had its perks and its downfalls, for one, you two had a really nice house together, a place you truly called home. Little bits of Yone all around you all the time in the way the bed smelt like him, the way you see his drinks in the fridge and his things around the room. As much as it all comforts you when he is away, it all also oh so depressingly reminds you how lonely you are without him. At the least, Yone was a man of conviction and strict schedules, without fail every day at midnight where he is, when the concerts over he would always contact you somehow. Be it a call, a message, and photo. He would always make sure to send you at the very least, something, once a day. Lovingly checking in on you to make sure you were ok.

- Sure you had your own life outside of being his loving girlfriend but yet, being by Yone's side was such a commonplace that the emptiness of the house felt foreign after all these years. Yone did his best to make sure you weren't alone though, leaving little notes hidden around the house for you to find and read, leaving you a playlist to fill his study with music so you could feel like someone was still there. Of course he still called you when he could but there were other things too, like how he kept ordering meals for you, secretly asking your neighbors to keep an eye out to make sure you were safe at night, how he actually sent you postcards so you could have a physical reminder that he was thinking of you. It was all so sweet.

- If you could make it to a concert? You had the VIP treatment, he was very secretive, not really having social media, no one really knew he was in a long term relationship with you. But for Heartsteel? Everyone close to Yone knew who you were. No questions asked, a VIP pass thrust into your hands courtesy of Alune who excitedly dragged you backstage to say hi to your partner before and after the performance.

- During the actual show it was crazy, for someone whose style was so underground it was exciting and certainly different to see how wild the crowd was compared to your hazy memories of small secluded rooms in the fringes of Tokyo all those years back. Heartsteel was good for him you had to admit, seeing him on the international stage, seeing him having so much fun with the other boys, seeing the way he was just glowing with joy when people actually hollered and cheered at his beat drops. A warm bubbling feeling rises up in your chest as you see him smile the way he does around you, only this time it was on the big stage. You knew he was happy with his own small fanbase of loyal stans but you two knew better, a tiny fanbase wouldn't pay the bills, being so wildly loved, being able to make music, his passion, for work. Having so many new people hear the same style of mixing that caught your attention years back and actually love it? Heartsteel was a blessing to you both.

- When you run backstage after the performance to congratulate all the boys on the successful performance Yone stands further back. A warm smile on his face as he pulls off his mask to watch you hug and high five everyone else, a mix of feelings as he watches you talk to his bandmate. As the initial greetings pass, you finally walk up to him, everyone leaving to settle their own post performance maintenance. For Yone, that was a little habit of searching for you and reaching out to pull you into a hug. A habit that he once had all those years back, the nostalgia after every performance always hitting him so hard his usually calm and cool demeanor would crack. The lightest tinge of a blush could be seen rising up to his ears as he finally makes eye contact with you. Slowly he walks over, a hand reaching out to beckon you to come over and hold him.

" You were amazing up on stage, I almost forgot how charming you always looked in the DJ booth."

" And I almost forgot how exciting it was to search for you cheering for me in the crowd. Especially when the crowd is that big."

Yone laughs softly. A deep melodic noise that sends shivers down your spine. Oh the way the corners of his lips curl up, his sparkling emerald eyes gaze down at you. His right hand reaching up, the back of his fingers lightly brushing over your cheeks, pushing your hair back behind your ears.

" Just like old times my love?"

" Just like old times Yone."

Carefully, doing his best to make sure his hair doesn't tickle you, the same hand that pushed your hair back now rises to hold his own messy fringe up as he leans down. Gently, just like always. His lips press against yours. Nothing too affectionate, you two were still in public after all, but still you could feel it, the way the softest kiss from your lover fills your chest with such overwhelming love. As you pull back you look up to see a smile so bright that it causes his eyes to close. Ah, you were truly loved.

Activities – What are their favorite things to do with you? How do you spend your free time?

He loves reading with you! Grab a picnic blanket, a good book, and perhaps a bottle of wine, and sit in the sun with him! He also enjoys laying his head in your lap, or your head on his chest, as you watch a movie together.

Boo! – How do they feel about surprises, giving and receiving?

he’s the type of guy to spend a lot of time thinking about others, less so himself, and so even though he loves surprises… he also isn’t quite sure how to act. if he seems ungrateful, he’s not, he’s just not used to it! as the eldest brother and resident band mom, he’s the type to forget his birthday and all. he’s eternally grateful for the love however, so make sure to surprise him when you can! ♡︎

Comfort – How do they comfort you when you’re upset? When the tables turn, do they come to you, or try to handle it themselves?

while he’s great at comforting the guys (heartsteel), with you it’s different. physical care is easy peasy, ...emotional? give him a bit, please! yone has a lot of insecurities (as in, he’s unsure how to best approach sensitive topics) and fears himself, so when he comforts you it can come across as awkward sometimes. he’s always been the stern, big-brother type, so forgive him if he’s not the best at it. let him know if you want to vent or if you want advice so he doesn’t overstep! if he’s really at a loss, he’ll just hold you in his arms. if he’s upset… good luck getting it out of him! he’ll never full-on mom-lecture you like he does with HEARTSTEEL, but he will definitely make some comments here and there. 

Dance – Do they like to dance with you? How good of a dancer are they?

I feel like he really only dances in a club setting, or in private with just you. He’s an alright dancer, not great but also not terrible, willing to acknowledge this too. I think he prefers more sensual dancing with you in private. Either swaying slowly in your living room to some soft music playing, or slowly grinding against each other in one of the bedrooms (though this usually leads to other things)

Excitement – How do they act when they’re excited? What excites them?

Tbh it depends on what has him excited??? But usually he has a big dumb grin on his face and a light blush, he might talk a bit louder than usual or act slightly more boisterous

Future – What are their plans for the future? Do they see themselves getting married, having kids?

married? yes. having kids? hmm, complicated but leaning towards yes. yone’s unlearning how to be overbearing like he was with yasuo, which made his brother turn and run away from him. he’s probably scared in that aspect, but, a mini yone running around would be so cute! 

Gifts – What do they give you as presents? How often do they get you gifts?

He loves gifting you flowers and hand written notes/letters. He’s also very thoughtful about his gifts so if you like reading, he’ll gift you a book that he’s written notes and small analyses for you to find while reading. If he’s on tour or travelling, he’ll bring back little souvenirs for you from every new place he goes.

Hold – How do they hold you? Cuddling, sleeping, holding hands…

When out in public, he’ll hold your hand, perhaps he’ll bend down to whisper in your ear if he’s feeling cheeky

In private he likes to face you when cuddling, maybe gazing into each other’s eyes as you lay together chatting quietly. He also likes when you lay your head on his chest. His heartbeat is steady and calming, and this way he can run his fingers through your hair. When alone, he also likes to hug you from behind while you’re making coffee or cooking dinner

Ideal – What’s their ideal date like?

Yone is busy with the hustle and bustle of life on the daily, from HEARTSTEEL recording sessions, setting up tour dates, collaborations, meetings on merch, etc. soo, he loves quiet dates. Simple things like a picnic in the park, reading dates, days out at a botanical garden or museum. 

Jealousy – Do they get jealous easily? How do they handle it?

I think he’s very secure in his relationship with you. He’d let you know, nicely,  if you’re spending too much time with someone else, or if he thinks something you or someone else did was crossing the line a bit.

Now if someone won’t take the hint and leave you alone, he can be quite protective and will slide in front of you. He’d rather not fight, but he’s capable of knocking out some teeth if he has to (and if he doesn’t, Sett definitely will)

Kisses – How do they like to kiss you? How frequently do you kiss?

He loves kissing you like you are the very air he breathes, the very water he drinks, the very food he eats. He kisses you like your soul is all-consuming, like his very being will dissipate if he pulls away.

He likes giving you little forehead kisses.

He likes grabbing you by the chin and giving you a teasing kiss on the corner of your lips.

Kisses to the tip of your nose during cuddle time are his favourite though.

Love – How do they show you that they love you?

He makes you playlists for every occasion! And I mean E V E R Y occasion! Need to focus on writing/drawing? Boom, playlist. Taking a bath? Playlist. Going for a long drive? Playlist. Those moments you’re alone and thinking of him? Playlist. You name it, there’s a playlist for you.

If you stay the night with him but you have somewhere to be the next day, he’ll make sure he packs you a lunch the night before to take with you when you leave in the morning. There will also be coffee, made just how you like it.

You two have a nightly routine when he’s not touring or in a show. Usually over video call, unless you’re staying the night together. You brush argan oil through your hair, wash and moisturize your face (sometimes you do face masks!), change into jammies, and lay together (virtually or irl) under the blankets just chatting quietly until one of you falls asleep. (He may have a bedtime story or two memorized just for this time with you)

Melt – What do you do that absolutely makes them melt?

He loves catching you listening to one of the playlists he made, but especially if he finds you dancing to one. He also enjoys watching you interact with the guys. It makes him really happy to see you getting along with them and that they adore you almost as much as he does. There’s also something about the way you sleep? You look so peaceful and content, the way you curl up in his arms, your soft snores, the way your fingers twitch as you dream. The way you cuddle your favourite plushie that he had gifted you when he’s not there to hold you absolutely melts his heart. You’re so cute!

Nicknames – What do they call you, and what are their favorite things to be called?

I feel like he’s very traditional? He likes the way your name sounds on his lips so he uses it the most. I think he would also call you “my love” or “little one”

He likes how you say his name. Yone sounds so sweet on your tongue. He prefers that, but he doesn’t mind the silly nicknames you come up with for him either. “Love,” “handsome,” and “pretty boy” are probably his favourites (but please don’t call him “pretty boy” in front of the others!)

Obvious – How obvious do they make it that they like you?

Ok, listen, I’m sticking to the secret admirer trope. IT JUST SUITS HIM AND HE’S SO CUTE ugh. He loves learning new things about you sm and he loves the excitement on your face when you receive a new gift from your secret admirer! The frustration on your face when you’re initially trying to figure out who it is really is golden!

Pets – Do they have pets? Do they want them?

yep! he’s definitely a pet guy. in my opinion, he’d love to have two or three, the more the merrier. and while he’s a fan of high energy pets, i think a lap dog or independent cat would also be great for him. hell, you could even tell him you want a reptile and he’d be all for it! 

Quiet – How are the calm, quiet moments with them?

Serene, he’s comforting and easy to be around. 

Romance – How romantic are they? What are their go-to ways of being romantic?

imo, yone’s a secret romantic. he dislikes the attention (and teasing!) from his fellow bandmates, so he’ll do these types of things on a date far away from them. he’s a subtle type of romantic i think as well… think flowers on the nightstand (not on the coffee table unless he wants kayn and ezreal to make fun of him), making a playlist just for the two of you, etc.

Safe – What makes them feel safe and comfortable around you?

When you listen to him! Yone doesn’t usually vent or rant, so when he does, it’s best to really listen. He has a lot on his shoulders and sometime’s the weight of it is too much. There’s other things too: he likes it when you play with his hair while he lays in your lap or when you rub reassuring circles on his lower back. 

Tend – How do they act when you’re hurt or sick, and vice versa?

BAND MOM MODE, goes a little overboard if you’re hurt. Bandages you up while giving you some stern talking to about how you need to be more careful. (Though, to be fair, it’s usually more directed at Sett and Kayn for trying to include you in their rough housing)

If you’re sick UGHHHHHH he wears a mask. And gloves. His hair is in a tight bun. Idk but he wears almost all of the PPE he can find just so he can bring you some hot soup or tea. Scolds you for wanting cuddles (relents eventually bc he loves holding you and just wants you to feel better)

If the band mom himself is sick, best believe you are taking over all of his duties. The world would crash and burn without him, he’s sure of it. Tries to pretend not to be sick, I mean, obviously he’s fine, look at him. When you finally force him to take some medicine and lay down, he’s either out cold, or is calling you every 10min to make sure everything is ok and everyone’s playing nice.

The Pro at not getting hurt (somehow? Idk how this works but he NEVER GETS HURT. Pretends to cry over a barely there papercut just so you’ll coddle him a lil)

Unique – What’s an unusual thing about them that’s oddly charming?

He’s an early riser. WHAT KIND OF MONSTER WANTS TO WAKE UP THAT EARLY. At least that means coffee will be ready when you finally get up<3

Variety – Do they prefer to keep things the same, or spice it up?

Yone likes routine, he likes stability. He probably won’t like to spice things up too often, but he’ll do it for you. 

Wash – What’s it like taking a bath with them, or helping them wash up after a fight?

He’s so sweet and adorable when it comes to taking a bath with you, he wants you to relax and be at ease. Being the not-super-secret romantic that he is, I think a shared bath or shower would be more likely at your place, or when the guys aren’t home.

For a bath: He’ll go the whole nine. Epsom salt for your sore muscles, essential oils for aromatherapy, he’ll even pull your hair into a bun for you

For a shower: He would gladly wash your hair. He’ll shampoo the roots and be sure to give you a nice scalp massage while he’s at it. He might look at you funny if you ask him to shave for you though. And also, why does your hair always look better after he washes it???

XO – How do they show you affection? How much PDA are they willing to show?

PDA… is not happening HAHA. maaaybe if you crack him after annoying him enough! hand holding is alright though. if it’s just the two of you though? cheek kisses, forehead kisses, hand kisses, anywhere he can kiss he will. loves running his hands through your hair and randomly announcing that he loves you, by the way. 

Yearn – What do they do when they miss you?

although he’s not the lyricist of the group, he’s still really musically inclined. he writes poems, small song snippets, etc. for you when he misses you. lays on your side of the bed and texts you more often than usual. he might call you at odd times of the day/night, if he’s missing you a ton. 

Zzz – How do they act when they get sleepy? How is it sleeping in the same bed?

I picture him as being a little bit of a grump when he’s sleepy. Poor lad needs his sleep and his coffee :(

Heartsteel Headcanons: Cooking Edition!

Ezreal: He's not the worst at cooking but he just doesn't like doing it. He can make simple meals but just doesn't pay attention to what he's doing and would rather be doing anything but standing above a stove and stirring something.

Phel: He is a great cook, but can only cook breakfast foods. Anything that's more like a lunch or a dinner meal, he is mediocre at. That's why everyone would want him to make breakfast all of the time.

Sett: He's not exactly bad at cooking, it's just he makes a lot of mistakes while cooking anything that he doesn't have basic instructions for. If he's given a cookbook, no worries! But leave him with no instructions and a "good luck", don't be surprised if the kitchen is a mess. It's best to order take out just in case things go south...

K'Sante: He's more of a baker than a cook, but he can whip up something real quick for dinner. Usually for lunch he just eats sandwiches or anything else that doesn't require heat to make.

Yone: He can cook. Doesn't like it though. Everyone wants him to cook though, because whenever he cooks he makes the most amazing, mouth watering dishes. But it's a rare treat and will only be possible if he loses a bet.

Kayn: He is a decent cook but likes to stay away from the stove just incase Rhaast gets involved in any way. The rest of the band agrees with keeping any chance of Rhaast near the stove or oven.

Rhaast: If you want him to start a fire and burn down the house, letting him near the stove would be a wonderful idea.

Alune: She can cook simple meals really well. Anything that has pasta in the recipe with some meat and chopped vegetables, just give her some spices to work with and she'll make something that tastes nice in no time flat.
