OMG A LEAGUE WRITING BLOG.. Honestly you’ve partially inspired me to make one!!! I love your works so far :)

But! In the meantime, the S/H comfort you wrote for Kayn was so beautiful! Author's Note: Hi, anon! ✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧ This was a bit of a difficult subject for me to write, but I still wanted to get something small out nonetheless! I didn't touch too much into the ed, because it is a bit of a touchy subject to me. But I still hope you like what I have in store! ପ(๑•ᴗ•๑)ଓ ♡

Aphelios knows how to read people like the back of his hand. It's one of his own personal superpowers... Or, more so a catalyst of being unable to speak.

Because of this, he is able to effortlessly observe those around him and know exactly how someone is feeling. He knows how to manipulate people to get what he wants. And worst of all, he knows when someone is lying to him or not. Including you.

That was one of the things you grew to hate about Aphelios. You hated that you could never lie to him.

It took a couple of weeks for Aphelios to realize something was wrong. It was just a matter of figuring out what it was...

You were always so confident and bright. You never cared about how anyone felt about you and never did anything to appease anyone. You did what you wanted when you wanted, which was something that Aphelios loved about you!

Aphelios couldn't help but wonder: Was it him? Did he do something wrong? He thought the two of you had a good relationship, you never had any problems before... It can't possibly be him... Maybe it's the fans? You both did recently come out as a couple! Maybe they were just jealous? Aphelios couldn't see a reason why anyone wouldn't like you right off the bat! But... Could that be the reason??

He had to investigate...

"Did you eat today?" Aphelios typed hastily before holding his phone up. You hummed in response. But he knew you were lying.

"Do you want the other half of my mooncake?" "I'm not hungry right now, Phel. but thank you!" He knew you were lying.

"We're all going to grab dinner, I'll bring you something back!" "You really don't have to! I'll find something here!" Still, he would always bring you something back.

While he was out, Aphelios took the opportunity to turn to his friends for help, which was extremely unlike him. Aphelios usually kept to himself, so it came as a surprise to everyone in the group when he asked for them to look around and see if they could find anything.

And when they did, Aphelios couldn't help but feel a wave of regret wash over him. He felt like it was his fault. He felt responsible for the way you felt. Aphelios pushed for you to have a more public relationship with him after all... In a way, he felt like was responsible for destroying your self-confidence.

But that feeling was quick to fade with Yone's reassurance. Instead, Aphelios felt angry. Not at you or himself... But at the entire world for expecting you to change.

You didn't need to change a single thing about yourself. You were nothing short of perfection to Aphelios. And he intended to remind you of it every day from there on out.

As soon as Aphelios got home, he burst through the doors, carrying 5 bags of food and a half-eaten box of chocolates he somehow swiped from the back of Ezreal's car.

"Phel..?" You were caught off guard by your boyfriend unexpectedly engulfing you in a big hug. His shoulders were shaking, giving you the surefire indicator that he was only beginning to cry.

You tried to pull away from him, but he only held on tighter.

Tears poked at the corners of your eyes. You knew.

Aphelios didn't need to speak to convey his love for you. His actions alone did that. That was one of the things you grew to love about Aphelios. You loved how he always knew the precise way to show you how much he loved you.

And you didn't realize how much you needed for him to see the issue at hand until now.

Also doing this with the headcanon that Aphelios can still very softly whisper (like how he talks to Alune). He can sign, he can type fast with just one hand but! His favorite thing is to let you, his precious partner, hear him when it really matters.

It was a long month for Aphelios. He wasn't, miserable, to speak but he was slowly reaching his (already low) mental limit. The stress of performing in front of millions truly catching up to him.

Heartsteel was finally going to perform on stage so it has been practice after practice. Photoshoots, interviews, Instagram lives, meetups for collabs at stores, showcases for new merch, feedback for social media content, approving this and that. It has been non stop work and Aphelios was far beyond burnt out.

He was exhausted and he hasn't seen you in days. As such, when Alune finally squeezed some time out of everyone's schedule to give them a day off (after a grueling final full dressed practice run right before the actual performance day) the first thing he did was grab a ride to your place. It was a quick goodbye wave to the other members, thanking the staff with a curt bow before he ran to grab his stuff, change and fucking book it. Dropping you a message on Discord to let you know he was finally done and coming over as he calls for a ride.

It was late already too, the sun had set and all Aphelios could really do what think about you. Actually, all he could think about when he wasn't working on band stuff was you.

His hands and legs jittery, itching to finally see you, feel you, hear you, hold you. Oh gods, to have you in his arms again. He sucks in a breath at the thought.

How he so craves you to salve his faltering, exhausted soul. He sighs, turning up the music in his headphones as he leans against the window of the passenger's side. Fingers tapping to the beat as he tries to calm down, a smile on his face already at the thought of seeing you again.

He wasn't used to this. Being away from you this long and being so busy as to not even be able to chat with you often. Before Heartsteel picked up traction the two of you were practically inseparable, he would spend time writing songs in your room as you worked. Or Aphelios would just invite you over to his place to chill as he made music. The simple joys of being able to work from home as an artist. But alas, fame comes with responsibilities, and as much as he loves finally making it in the scene, it was tough going through the withdrawal of not being by your side.

His heart races in anticipation as the car stops at an all too familiar road. Grabbing his things, he pays and leaves, slamming the door to the car shut.

Aphelios was practically flying up the steps to your apartment, out the cab he half walked, half ran to your door. Standing by the gate as he calls you to let you know he's here.

When you finally open the door, you're met with the most excited smile, his eyes almost close with how wide he is smiling.

Your usually calm and cool boyfriend dropping everything he was holding to throw himself into your arms the second the door opened. The softest of his whispers as he presses his cheek against yours.

" I've missed you, so much."

You could tell, the way his body sinks into yours. The way his arms grasp you tighter than he ever has. The way he lightly nuzzles you. So uncharacteristic but so understandable at the same time. You laugh a little, telling him how much you missed him too as you held him close.

" Let's stop standing by the door. Come in Phel."

His shoulders rise and fall in a silent chuckle as he picks up his things form the floor to step into your house.

It was the usual domestic slice of life happenings that he was so used to doing. The absolute heartwarming comfort of just going on autopilot. Putting his things in the same spot he always has in your room. Going to get a bath, grabbing a change of clothes from his own shelf by your bed. The way you already helped make him dinner while he was bathing because you just know he hasn't eaten all day. It was perfect, it was like how things always was. A reminder that even though so much was going on, he was still yours as much as you were his.

" I'm excited for you. But you sure you can stay the night? You'll have to wake up earlier than if you stayed with the band you know?"

[ Being by your side is the only way I'll be able to calm down before tomorrow. It's worth the hour of sleep I'll miss not being in the venue hotel.]

The two of you update each other on your lives as he ate. You telling him about the things that happened through the month, watching small videos he took behind the scenes of the shoots, making fun of the other members together as you sit by his side by the dining table. You telling him about your time with your friends, telling him how much you missed him, how happy you were to be with him again too. And oh, the way his leg would reach out to yours, his foot lightly hooking you by the ankle to feel you close as his hands were busy with eating and typing to you about his day. It was nice. It was right. It was the cute little things that you were so used to with Aphelios. Your own hand reaching back out to hold his side. Aphelios' eyes closing as he takes a deep breath, enjoying the feeling of you holding him close after day after day of the noisy meals with the band or the desperately lonely silence of eating in a changing room between sets. It was a nice change of pace to finally be here with you.

Time ticks by and soon enough it was getting really late. Aphelios insisting to help you with the dishes since you cooked, so you did him a service by just hugging him lovingly from behind, giving the back of his neck soft kisses as he smiles with his head tilted to the side so you can rest your head on his shoulder.

" Sleep?"

You ask him softly as he puts the dishes away and dries his hands. Aphelios nods, it was getting late and he had to wake up at 5am to go through even more preparations tomorrow, but that's tomorrow Aphelios' problems. He shoves the thoughts to the back of his mind as he focuses back on you and your beautiful face.

Slowly the two of you walk up to your room, just like everything else, a warm familiarity as he walks to lie down exhausted, on his designated spot on the bed, pulling over some of his plushies that he left at your place as you join him in bed. As you crawl onto the soft bed and lie down, almost instantly you were pulled in close, his arms wrapping around you tight as he sighs again with a smile, enjoying the skinship.

The two of you get comfortable, his face lightly pressed into your shoulder as he laid in your arms. One of your hands around him as the other lightly strokes his hair, comforting him from all the work he has put in to reach where he was. Aphelios just couldn't help but feel all his trouble melt away, that ache in his muscles magically leaving him. Trying his best to fight off sleep as he wants to spend every minute more with you. It was not enough, never enough. Hours, days, years, spent by your side but in the end, all he can do now is but enjoys the little seconds before his consciousness wanes.

Once again, the warm comfort of the usual that has now become but a precious rarity. As he flits in and out of consciousness, he does one final act of love. You smile as he pulls himself up closer to your ears.

" I love you. Goodnight..."

As you adjust yourself to face him, you're met with a warm smile, his dyed hair falling softly around him on you, an almost ethereal glow on his skin from the moonlight seeping in from your window as he blinks at you with half lidded eyes, barely open from exhaustion. Truly a beautiful sight, one that you can't help but to cherish.

" I love you too Phel. Rest well."

You reach out to give him a gentle goodnight kiss on his lips, and just like tonight, and all the nights you have spent, and will spend, with him, he reaches out and kisses you back. So matter of fact, so expected that it was almost comical. He loves you and you love him. And that was right. Slowly the two of you fall asleep in each others arms once again.

‘What are you doing? Phel…’ You lowered your voice, tugging your boyfriend away from the ramyeon stand.

He was way too enthusiastic about you finally having a date, and now tried robbing the CU store of all its instant noodles. While wearing a mask, too. Like a proper thief.

‘We don’t need 10 packs of ramyeon, it’s just the two of us. The members aren’t going to turn up out of nowhere, I’m hoping?’

Aphelios gave you a meaningful look and shook his head. He sure wanted to add something, but his hands were busy holding all the packs.

‘Let me help you with that.’ You said, grabbing some of those to put them back. ‘You don’t even like this flavor.’

After you quickly sorted your selection, he floated past you to the refrigerated shelves. Pointing at the tiny soy sauce eggs, he looked at you for feedback. You nodded and checked what else was there.

‘How about regular boiled eggs too? We can put them in the ramyeon.’

Aphelios eagerly got some of those as well, clearly liking your idea.

‘Should I get a basket for all this?’ You asked, looking at your poor boyfriend, holding all of the food in his two hands.

He shook his head, but you didn’t listen and still got it to make it easier for him.

‘Put them here. And let’s get some banana milk.’

You didn’t have to specify that you liked the light one. He quickly picked out the package with a blue label, adding it to your basket.

‘Do you want some sausage?’ You asked him.

Your boyfriend shook his head, and then tapped onto a plastic container with triangle kimbap, asking you if you wanted one. When you turned it down, he tugged you by the sleeve of your hoodie to the drinks area.

‘You want iced coffee? Isn’t it a little too cold outside for this?’

He seemed unsure.

‘Let’s get more snacks instead?’

After he agreed, you dug through a separate snack section, picking out a few packs that you’d never tried before. Then Aphelios added your favorite grape jellies to your already outrageous variety.

‘If we continue like this, our next stop would be the pharmacy.’ You commented, evaluating the contents of your basket.

Aphelios huffed out a laugh and shrugged, silently saying ‘Who cares?’

You peeked from your spot, making sure there weren’t too many people at the checkout, and led him there quickly. After paying for everything and pouring hot water into your thermos bottle, you had to tear Aphelios away from the ice cream fridge on your way to the door before you were finally on your way.

When out in the streets, you were usually weary of someone recognizing him, so you tried to keep it casual, walking slightly ahead or behind him. Especially in the evenings, when the Seoul streets were quite crowded. However, you chose a workday for a reason – you’d noticed that there were fewer people hanging out early in the week, so this time you managed to make your way to a less packed area for your impromptu date.

Although Aphelios was usually pretty careful about it as well, this time he took your hand in his, making you fall into step with him instead of marching ahead. As you strolled along the Han River, he pointed to a nice empty spot for you to settle on.

‘No neighbors, nice catch,’ you chuckled, and he squeezed your palm playfully as if to say ‘I did well, didn’t I?’

You got a blanket from Phel’s backpack, lay it on the ground and dropped on it victoriously.

‘That’s a nice view,’ you said, watching Aphelios, who stood in front of you, checking out the Han River, which was beautifully lit by the city lights.

He turned to you, ready to agree, and caught you staring at him. He raised an eyebrow in a silent question, and you looked down at the blanket.

‘To each their own.’

Your boyfriend placed the bag of snacks in front of you and sat down, fishing out his phone. He typed something up and pressed the button, which played the sentence in his voice. Something he worked out with one of his buddies.

‘See something you like?’

The artificial voice lacked the degree of sass you knew was incorporated in that question.

‘One could assume so,’ you shrugged, playing it cool.

Both his eyebrows went up, and then he narrowed his eyes, returning to typing.

‘I hope I didn’t misunderstand when you suggested eating ramyeon so late at night…’

You gasped, and he was obviously amused by your reaction.

‘Don’t be naughty.’ You told him, busying yourself with unpacking your food.

He kept watching you intently until you couldn’t take it anymore.

‘What??’

He shook his head, refusing to reply. And as you pouted at him for this, he quickly leaned in, tugging his mask down, and gave you a clandestine kiss. It was a fleeting contact, yet it managed to heat up your cheeks nicely.

Content with the result, he joined you in making your table for tonight, a ghost of a smile still decorating his lips. Oh, he thought it was so cute! He didn’t even have to speak to make you flustered.

You sighed, watching him take over the preparations. He opened the two biggest cups, or bowls, rather, of ramyeon and poured some hot water into them, using chopsticks to hold the lids closed.

‘The eggs,’ you reminded him, and he hurriedly rummaged through a pile of your snacks to find them.

He made an undefinable noise when you tried to take one to help him peel them, so you simply sat back, watching him do it. A few minutes later, your noodles were nice and ready, and so were you. As you opened the lid, you finally grasped how cold you were getting. However pretty the night view of the Han River and the bridge over it was, the cool breeze could not go unnoticed.

You slurped your noodles simultaneously. It tasted really good for some reason – you weren’t sure if that was because of the cold, or the excitement of you being here, or just having Phel’s intimate company… Maybe it was all of those combined? In any case, the hot noodles worked well for you in these circumstances.

But still, Aphelios noticed that you were beginning to tremble and motioned for you to drink the broth too.

‘You too. It’s pretty chilly out here, huh?’ You replied before gulping the warm spicy broth.

He did the same and then put his bowl down, scooting closer to you. Taking the freed part of your blanket, he used it to cover your back and his.

‘Thanks, Phel,’ you mumbled, still chewing your noodles.

He typed up his reply.

‘It’s windier than I thought. Let’s finish our ramyeon and move.’

‘But I like it here…’ You protested. ‘I like our little picnic. You know I don’t get alone time with you that often…’

He chewed on his lip for a few moments and then cocked his head to the side again.

‘What?’ You asked, demanding interpretation.

‘I can hear the clanking of your teeth, babe. I must take you somewhere warm.’

He studied your disappointed face and typed something else.

‘We can still be alone there?’

That sounded a little more promising.

‘We won’t have to break any laws to be alone, I hope?’ You inquired, recalling that one time when he basically hijacked K’Sante’s truck to take you to the seaside.

The mischievous smile on his face told you all you needed to know.

Oh well. If it was worth risking it all with anyone, you’d do that with Phel.

Aphelios tends to keep to himself most of the time, so at the beginning of your relationship, it's vital to anticipate for him to take time to adjust so he can get comfortable with you!

When he does begin to acclimate himself to a relationship, he becomes quite the snuggle bug and prefers to always be the little spoon when you two cuddle.

But overall, Aphelios is the type to show affection through actions over physical interactions! Physical intimacy is difficult for Aphelios to display, so it's easier for him to communicate how much he loves you through what he does for you over touch.

Aphelios is the type to always listen to you and especially adores listening to you talk about your passions!

So long as you're willing to read his excited rambles about his love for the moon and stars (along with the extreme knowledge he has on even the diameter of the moon or when the next lunar eclipse will occur and where), he is more than happy to immerse himself in learning more about your interests!

Even though he can no longer sing, he can still write words to you that mean something. It's just one of the ways he can openly express himself and how much he loves you.

The gifts he gives you are always meaningful, stuff that just makes sense when it comes to him! Items include a moon and star pendant necklace, a pair of matching headphones to his own, and his prized NASA hoodie.

When it comes to taking care of a recovering partner, Aphelios has learned from the best. He thinks back to the last time he had the flu and uses Alune's three-day-nurse-stint as a blueprint. Whatever you need, he's ready to silently offer it. Cold cloth for your head? Done. Pain meds? He's got your dosages measured out and your favorite drink on hand to wash it down. Cuddles? Don't even mention it. He's already in bed, cocooning you both in fresh-washed blankets still warm from the dryer. And, if worst comes to worst and one of your requests stumps him, he can always text his sister to come in as backup.

Aphelios doesn't cook often, but when you're bedridden and in need of a good, comforting meal he comes in clutch. He makes a mean galbitang, and he'll even spoon-feed it to you if you give him your best puppy eyes and whine, "pleeeeeeeease, Phel, I'm too weak to eat by myself." (Not without an affectionate eye-roll, of course.) Besides that, he makes sure the freezer is well-stocked with popsicles and other cold, easy-to-digest food that will soothe you. Making sure Sett and Kayn don't eat it all, well, that's another issue entirely...

Aphelios hates to let a good prank opportunity go to waste, but if you're sick or recovering? You're safe. He wouldn't dream of harassing you while you're feeling less than your best (even if it's all in good fun). Expect to be teased extra when you are feeling better, though!

Keeping you clean and comfortable is a top priority for Aphelios. One of his most-hated things about being stuck in bed is how quickly he starts to feel grimy, so he's sure to help keep up on your hygiene routine. If you're up for it, Aphelios runs you a warm bath. He helps you out of your pajamas and eases you into the bathwater. While you're relaxing in the tub he takes care of your hair for you. Gently, he works a generous handful of shampoo into your scalp, massaging soothing circles against your skin as he goes. He hums, sometimes. A rare treat he gives when his vocal chords aren't as painful. This alone relaxes you more than any bath ever could (though of course, you aren't complaining about that part). Whatever your regular routine is, he'll see to it—face masks, body scrubs, he'll even shave your armpits for you if you ask. When you're ready to get out, he has a warm towel ready for you (what a wonder ten minutes in the dryer can do). Aphelios has fresh clothes on standby, too. He really does think of everything, and he doesn't let you back into bed until you feel fresh and rejuvenated.

While you're recovering, Aphelios strings together a few soothing instrumentals to help you relax. It's nothing fancy, just a simple beat to break the silence and lull you to sleep.

Aphelios isn't known for going easy on his gaming rivals. That completely disappears when you, bored out of your mind and desperate for something to do, challenge him to Mario Kart or Mortal Kombat. Kicking your ass while you're already down doesn't sit right with him, so he lets you bag a few wins. That stunning smile when you beat him, like you can't believe your luck, makes it all worth it. Fuck, that smile makes his knees weak.

Normally Aphelios can be a bit stingy with his cuddles. He just isn't overly physically affectionate. But if you need extra love? Say no more. He's glued to your side, snuggling you like it's his job. Your limbs are tangled together, your head finds a permanent pillow on his chest, and your bodies share a comforting heat. He will never tell you no if you're not feeling well, especially if you need more attention.

Aphelios sends you tons of memes throughout the day as-is, but if you're recovering from something? He's practically blowing up your phone. If you don't mute your notifications you will never know peace. Mainly, it's because he doesn't want you getting bored.
