It’s interesting to notice that most of them don’t have a Pokémon in their teams that can be directly reconnected to their Zodiac Sign.

I believe it was made on purpose, but may I ask which was the criteria used for creating the teams?

I will suppose it’s given by their Type + combat abilities that match those of their Trainers.

For example:

Leo Aiolia's main attack is Lightning Bolt, so most of the Pokémon of his team are Electric Type.

Shaka is known for his psychic abilities/the use of Cosmo, so the Psychic Type suits him quite well!

Mu

Rematch: Dragonair, Dragonite, Flygon, Dragalge, Haxorus, Roaring Moon;

Completely forgot Swablu evolution is a Dragon Type? Anyway BIRB!1!!

Lil Dratini! By the way, why Mu’s team (or in general for the Muvians) is made of Dragon Pokémon? Beside the fact that it is connected by their culture in this AU, what made you choose them instead of, I don’t know, Psychic or Fairy Type? I need the LORE!!! 🤯😳

Oh yeah, for every character I will write the Pokémon Teams because I completely forgot the name of Dragalge, and it took me way too long to find it again by looking just at the lil picture. So whenever I have to remember somebody’s Pokémon team, I can simply go over this post and check them on ( ＾ω＾ )

And… I’m sorry to tell you this, but I’d have given him sheep/goat Pokémons (Skiddo, Gogoat, Flaaffy, Mareep, Dubwool). Broken heart emoji x3, F in chat etc. etc.

Aldebaran

Match: Cubone, Phanpy, Rhyhorn;

Rematch: Rhydon, Swampert, Garchomp, Hippowdon, Mamoswine, Clodsire (I think?);

Was he taken by surprise when PC asked to battle him so that he had to run to the Daycare Center where he works to find a Pokémon? And ended up with just those three? Anyway, obsessed with the image of him holding a Phanpy 🥺;

His theme is definitely Ground, nice reference to Taurus being an Earth Sign;

You know I will have now to draw Mu and Aldebaran as kids trading their Pokémon? One with his Gible and the other with a Trapinch?

I would have guessed his team was going to be made by 5 Tauros, just like that iconic episode where Ash catches 30 Tauros in one shot and some seasons later he says he was going to Professor Oak to check on some old friends, and they were indeed those 30 Tauros rescued a ton of time ago!

I don’t know why this is the only piece of Pokémon trivia that stuck into my brain besides all the birbs Pokémons… anyway…

My other guess would have been a Bouffalont. Also, to be fair, there are like 3 different versions of Tauros. Why so many... idk...

Saga

Fake Champion has Match: Mega Gyarados, Milotic, Palafin, Basculegion, Tentacruel, Samurott (Hisui);

Bro lost once (1) and spent years creating the ultimate Overpower Team;

Would have guessed his team was going to be made of Flying Type (Gemini -> Air Sign) but I like the overpowered water sillies more (rivalry with fire Type Trainer Aiolos let’s gooooo!!!!!);

Know that at one point, this one team transcription looked like […] Milotic, Weird Thing, FISH thing (2) […];

I guess that Mega Gyarados is his ace.

Deathmask

Match: Murkrow, Krokorok, Houndour, absolutely OP Crawdaunt;

Rematch: Murkrow, Spiritomb, Houndoom, Hydreigon, Tyranitar, Drapion;

Murkrows being chosen for DM and he’s now the ace. I do hope when he has to leave Shaka’s monthly mobbing interview, he opens a window in the studio just so a bunch of Murkrow can descend over him, grab him by his clothes, lifting him up so they can fly in the sunset leaving Shaka’s office covered in feathers;

His team is made mostly by Dark Types, I tried to guess once saying it would have been more of a Ghost Type Trainer, since the Sekishiki Meikaiha thing and all the sending people to the Underworld thing, but I don’t mind it.

Aiolia

Match: Electabuzz, Jolteon, Luxray, Raichu, Pelipper;

Rematch: Electabuzz, Toxtricity, Iron Hands, Lanturn, Eelektross, Manectric;

Cat Boy moment (?);

Like I said in the beginning, Lighting Bolt -> Electric Type. Although he doesn’t have a Persian or any other cat-looking Pokémon, I prefer this way of having his abilities translated into this AU;

I guess the only person here that can be crowned King of Cats would be Kaiser, with 2 Pyroar(s) (he’s the ✨Official✨ Cat Boy in the end).

Shaka

Match: Slowbro, Jynx, Espeon, Starmie, Alakazam;

Rematch: Hatterene, Mega Alakazam, Malamar, Starmie, Gallade, Indeedee;

Psychic Type Trainer for Shaka? He is the easiest to translate into this AU (along with Camus). I wouldn’t see him having any other Pokémon;

Although, I did take in consideration for him some Fairy Pokémon like Klefki. Somewhere in my mind, I was trying to find a Pokémon that could loosely look like some prayer beads (I failed);

He’s got an Espeon! Yay! (*´∀`)

I had expected him to have a Natu somewhere as well. Mostly for aesthetic purposes (👁️👁️);

I HAVE NEVER THOUGHT OF HATTERENE as a possible candidate, and yet it makes so much sense! But in the end, Alakazam should be his ace.

Dohko

Match: Hawlucha, Breloom, Mega Medicham, Mienshao, Conkeldurr, Annihilape;

Rematch: Lilligant, Sneasler, Slither Wing, Mienshao, Great Tusk, Hariyama;

Yeah, considering his city hosts the Pokéathlon, any Fight Type is more than welcome!

Either Paradox or Mega Evolutions for the old man, as it was intended to be…

I had imagined for his to have at least a Dragon Type on his team (* coff coff * Drampa * coff coff *) or low-key Rayquaza but, to be honest, I’m hesitant giving any character, even a NPC, a legendary Pokémon (even if it’s Dohko we are talking about);

Another one I was thinking could be in Dohko’s team was maybe Arcanine (which sadly isn’t a tiger itself, but it’s pretty close).

Milo

Match: Volcarona, Accelgor, Kleavor, Vikavolt, Scyther, Scolipede;

Rematch: Volcarona, Lokix, Mega Beedrill, Heracross, Scizor, Araquanid;

BUG! BUGS! BUGS!

Not a lot to say here. My suggestion would have been either a Poison, a Bug, or a Fire Type for Milo… something like Ariados or a Salandit;

Aiolos

Match: Charizard, Magmortar, Growlithe, Armarouge, Darmanitan, Ceruledge;

Sagittarius -> Fire Type (very nice);

The fire Type… in the end, that’s also the reason Saga had to yeet himself in the ocean to get his hands on a Mega Gyarados;

Low-key how TF did Saga lose to him?

There’s a good chance I would have suggested Decidueye for him (feathers as arrows moment), but the fire theme is better. Sorry Rowlet 💔

Shura

Match: Metagross, Corviknight Gigamax, Archaludon, Lucario, Empoleon, Kingambit;

More than Aegislash, I would have suggested either Sirfetch’d or Escavlier. Maybe a Kartana, that goes along Kingambit…

No Gogoat? No Gogoat 😔

Camus

Match: Frosmoth, Froslass, Lapras, Mega Abomasnow, Baxcalibur, Ninetales (Alola);

Ice or Water Type. Camus’ team is easy to imagine;

Agree on Froslass being the ace, literally any of his attacks are SO Camus coded.

Aphrodite

Match: Roserade, Glimmora, Skuntank, Iron Moth, Mega Gengar, Nidoking;

I once said Roselia for him, but being a member of the Elite four, Roserade is way better;

Otherwise, I would have given him something water related, and the first one I came up with was Primarina (considering Dite’s battle is a Contest Performance Type of deal).

And these are the main! Now, regarding the bonus team…

Kanon

Match: Kingdra, Toxapex, Huntail, Jellicent, Mantine, Urshifu;

Look at him go, with his team of deep water Pokémon!

Interesting choice for Urshifu, he really stands out in a water-based team! :0

Deathtoll

Match: Mismagius, Zorua (Hisui), Lampent, Banette;

Rematch: Cofagrigus, Mega Banette, Zoroark (Hisui) Dusknoir, Gholdengo;

Ah-ehm… Deathtoll might have my favourite team so far (me when I see a Ghost Type -> 🤯);

If somebody had asked me for Deathtoll’s team, I definitely would have said Cofagrigus and Lampent!

My other suggestion would have been Mimikyu or Houndstone

For some reason, my other suggestions are either a psychic or a fairy Type! Uhm… Sylveon

Not much to be said, Kiki is a Dragon Type Trainer just like his master and his master’s master before him;

I didn’t know what the third Pokémon for the rematch was, and it’s a… dragon apple-tart of sorts? If it wasn’t for Goomy’s goo, this would have been the other reason why the Gym is so slippery.

Mu

mostly a recap of what I said in the original post + some other stuff I've thought while working on these

1st battle

Swablu is used as messenger to carry mail between Mu and Alde

Re-match

Dragonair is Mu's ace;

Roaring Moon = Probably a creature that Mu's tribe had many tales surrounding its existence (or something that resembled it). Which led Mu into capturing this Paradox pokemon.

Aldebaran

1st battle

Cute and small pokemon mostly consisting his team? Yes. Probably took them in from his time working at the Day care center.

Re-match

Swamper may have originally been his starter pokemon, but his current ace is Rhydon;

Saga

Only Champion/final battle

Saga's team being specifically made to take down Aiolos, something he has been working on since his humiliating defeat? Check that, yes;

I wanted Saga's team to be mostly water surface level creatures, in order to really show the difference between his and Kanon's teams.

Deathmask

1st match

PC probably would come across many Murkrows spread across the city. Although, not relevant to the battle. It would be left implied that DM's Murkrow is the leader of this whole murder of bird pokemon;

Way too overleveled Crawdaunt for the battle.

Re-match

Fun fact: When I FIRST thought of this AU, I had originally thought of DM's ace to be Spiritomb rather than Murkrow. BUT ultimately, I'm sticking with the bird as I feel like there are some fun things that can be done with it;

DM's Drapion is meant to be a match with Dite's Skuntank;

Characters with whips = most likely treat their pokemon really bad. Hydreigon with Frustration.

Aiolia

1st match

As the 5th gym leader, I feel like Aiolia's team is meant to teach/show trainers how to come up with combos between their pokemons. If Volkner can have an Octillery in his team then Aiolia is allowed to have a big bird.

Re-match

Electabuzz is his ace! It's meant to match alongside with Aiolos' Magmortar.

Shaka

I've cycled between Hatterene and Starmie as Shaka's aces in the past, settled for Alakazam in the end;

Guilty as charged Shaka to follow Saga's plans = Malamar;

I feel like some NPCs could have shiny pokemon on their teams. Shaka being amongst the most important NPCs with one on their team.

Magmortar is meant to be a match with Aiolia's Electabuzz;

I know it would tempting to toss in here Rapídash-- BUT given his position, I felt like that would be a little too underwhelming pokemon for him to have. Probably owns one during the story mode;

Shura

Shura is another notable NPC with a shiny pokemon in his team, and it's none other than his ace pokemon;

I know it was very tempting to slapping him with Aegislash. BUUUT lore reasons suggest that Aegislash is really meant for characters that fill the role of leadership. Which is something Shura lacks;

Edit 1: I meant to give him a Kingambit all along, BUT my brain forgot about it in the day. Got reminded of it by @ectogusher

Camus

Despite the Frosmoth match with Milo's Volcarona. Camus' ace would be Froslass;

Probably the first E4 member PC will hear about through rival Hyoga. I'm sure there would be a connection between them, I just haven't thought that far yet.

Aphrodite

Aphrodite's ace is Roserade;

Aphrodite's Skuntank is meant to be a match with DM's Drapion;

5 out of these pokemon are used in the pokemon contests Master rank competitions by Aphrodite.

Roserade = Beauty Glimmora = Clever Skuntank = Tough Gengar = Cute Nidoking = Cool

Deep sea or open waters creatures = Kanon's team. With Kingdra as his ace pokemon;

I broke my own rules here, bc I'm not really a fan of giving NPCs Legendary/Mythical pokemon. BUT Urshifu appears to be quite different from the other legendary creatures. So, for story reasons, Kanon gets his hands in a powerful pokemon (likely confrontation against Hades in the story wink wonk).

He didn’t say anything in response, just scowling at you before turning to press the button to your shared floor, just now noticing it had already been pressed…since you work together.

You didn’t blame the guy for not remembering your face. You stood and wondered if anyone in your office would. It wasn’t like you socialized much—not that they were a very social bunch. You usually kept to yourself, waiting for five o’clock to roll around so that you could rush off to see him. Javier Peña. The older, now-retired agent you used to know from newspaper clippings—who you now know inside and out.

Seems like there's always someone who disapproves. They'll judge it like they know about me and you, and the verdict comes from those with nothing else to do. The jury's out, but my choice is you.

It was a natural meeting—the two of you—nothing at all like the rumors made it out to be.

If you asked any of the town gossips about the two of you, they’d tell scandalous stories of him meeting you as a teenager and vowing that one day he’d return when you were old enough then parading you around like his young trophy.

You really had only ever heard the name. Javier Peña, DEA hero. You wouldn’t have even had a face to put to the name if it wasn’t for the picture of him in uniform after graduating from the Academy.

No, you didn’t meet him when you were fifteen like everyone thought. You met him ten years later at twenty-five, in a shitty honkeytonk bar with way too much tequila in your system.

“Hi, my friends told me you were checking me out. So I came over here, because…fuck it.” You slurred your words, but somehow still managed to charm the hard looking man sitting by himself at the bar. With your hand stuck out, you smiled at him. “I’m Y/N.”

“Hi, Y/N. You look like you might need some coffee, or water, maybe.” He turned away to call the bartender over, asking him to bring out some coffee and to put it on his tab.

“Javier.” He watched as you took a sip of the hot liquid and placed it back down.

“Anyone ever tell you you’re handsome, Javier?” You asked with a tilted head, leaning on the bar and smiling at him as he tilted his head with you.

“Yeah, but…It sounds better coming from you.”

You never know what people have up their sleeves. Ghosts from your past gonna jump out at me. Lurking in the shadows with their lip gloss smiles, but I don't care 'cause right now you're mine.

As you slipped out of your office not a minute past five, you bumped into a young woman dressed in scrubs.

“Oh, I’m so sorry—“

“Hey, you’re…aren’t you the girl Javi’s been seeing?” She asked, seemingly uncaring about the shoulder check you just gave her as she smirked at you.

“Uh, yeah.” Small town life. Gotta love it. “Do you…did you used to know Javi?”

“Oh, yeah. We used to know each other real well.” She grinned to herself, her bubblegum-pink lips curling up as she gave you a full body scan. “Seems he’s running out of options here in town.”

“Excuse me?” You hissed before feeling a familiar warm hand on the small of your back.

“Sorry I’m late, cariño.” He kissed your cheek, proudly claiming you before turning his attention to his high school ex. “Billie.”

“Javi.” Her tone was much more flirty than Javi’s was, causing your eyes to roll. “Thought you liked women…not girls.”

“Am I…a little girl? I woke up this morning as a grown woman, but maybe you’re right! Maybe…oh god.” You scanned your body, mockingly patting your chest and hips as though they’d disappeared. Javier chuckled and squeezed you closer to his side, waving at his ex as he walked the two of you down the street to his car. “See ya, Billie!”

You waited until she was out of ear-shot and gagged.

“Bitch.”

“You’re not wrong.” He kissed your head and opened his truck door for you, smiling at you as you slid in.

And you'll say, “Don't you worry your pretty, little mind. People throw rocks at things that shine and life makes love look hard. The stakes are high, the water's rough, but this love is ours.”

“What do I always tell you?” He asked once he noticed your grumpy frown still hadn’t faded by the time he pulled up to your driveway. When you didn’t reply, he gently punched your chin and turned your head to him, your eyes rolling.

“People throw rocks at things that shine.” You groaned out, watching as his lips curled.

“Exactly.” He leaned in and kissed your lips tenderly, proving to you that you were the only girl in that godforsaken small town that he wanted. “I love you. Don’t let them make you question that. They’re all just bored and lonely and dissatisfied.”

“Because they don’t have you anymore.” You leaned in closer, sliding your arms around his neck and nuzzling your nose against his.

“And never will.” He kissed you again, smiling against your lips. “I have something for you…but I don’t want you to freak out about it.”

“Okay?” You chuckled and pulled back so that he could tug something from his pocket—a loose diamond ring. He took a breath before holding it out, chuckling at his nerves.

“I love you, Y/N. And I know it’s only been six months. But…I’m sure of you. Of this. So…whenever you’re ready to wear it…whenever you’re ready to say yes…it’s yours.” You chuckled in shock and reached for it, watching as he pulled it back. “You realize I’m asking you to marry me, right?”

“Obviously!” You swatted his shoulder and snagged the ring from him, sliding it onto your finger and examining it. “What if…I wanted to wear it now?”

“Well…that would make me a very happy man.” He smiled at you nervously, watching as you seemed to hesitate, your face twisting with doubt. “But only if you’re ready, baby. No need to rush—“

“You’re right. I shouldn’t take it if it’s not something I want.” You slid the ring off and offered it over to him, Javier’s face dropping as he reached to accept it, only to have you snatch it back.

“Ha-ha! Got ya.” You leaned in kissed him with a pleased grin, watching as he caught his breath. “You totally thought I was second guessing it.”

“I’m in love with a psychopath.” He sighed and clutched his chest, chuckling as you slid it back in and kissed his face.

“Of course I’m ready to wear it. Ready to marry you.” You bit your lip and smiled at him. “Besides, this’ll give the town a whole new reason to gossip!”

1000 follower celebration!

Hey everyone! So, I have been so distracted to the point I just realized the blog is almost at 800 followers🤯 last time I checked, I had just been celebrating 400!

Anyways, I wanted to give you all a special thanks! This includes
