I was woken up at not even 5 am after 4 hours of sleep (don’t read fanfiction out of your reading scope before bed, children, also don’t listen to me, actually I know you won’t, so just go on) by cats and husband who travels around the whole bed when he sleeps, and then I couldn’t sleep and then I had to get up at 6 to go to the hospital so I can work later from 8:30 till god knows when because it’s PA meetings in school today. What is life. There is not enough Remus, Sirius, and James on my dashboard. Come ooooon, tumblr. Don’t make me cry for it. Unless you plan to deliver. That’s the only dynamic that I can get behind.

Prompt: Remus registers for a matching agency where Sirius and James work at helping him to find his one true mate.

Summary: Remus has been single for years, and his solitary heats are getting worse and worse with every passing year. His friends can't stand it anymore and after a great amount of convincing, sign him up for a matchmaking agency. He never expects to get anything out of it, distrustful of the strangers' techniques to find him a partner. Remus is determined to terminate the contract after a single date. But several dates later, he understands he might have been caught in a trap. He keeps coming back to meet more people.... only to meet James and Sirius, a charming duo working at the agency itself. Not that he can be matched with any of them. Not that he can stop himself from dreaming about it.

“We’ll take care of you,” James promised, hooking a finger beneath her chin and pulling her gaze to meet his.

“You’ll be a good daddy?” Pansy asked, and her eyes were so sad, so haunted and full of hurt that James would have agreed to anything she asked him at that moment. “Nice to me?”

“So good,” James said, looking at Narcissa. “Cissy is such a good mommy, too. She won’t let anyone hurt you.”

uhhh need for comfort + desire to be an author in my old age so I started practicing by writing the silly little stories i wanted to read when i needed a pick me up

i started at 17....? and i'm 21 now so uhhh you do the maths xx

read more for sure !!!! whenever i undergo a big life change or experience something stressful (which has been relentless this past year between moving countries twice and dealing w some insanely traumatising stuff) I hope on ao3 for some comfort

🍌 What is one way you've improved as a writer?

plot?? like i feel like i can actually tell a story with a proper 'beginning, middle and end' now, and write developed characters outside of the main pairing

🍑 Do you have any bad habits as a writer?

the minute i hit a hard scene i give up lol

crime of varying types (scared i'm on some sort of list at this point tbh)

all of them!!! but for sure once that are either 'i had a bad day and this made me feel better' bc AWWW??? and also ones that engage with the story!! seeing people's theories and reactions is so lovely

uhhh idk england and identity issues? i guess? crops up a lot in my work (write what you know huh)

probs anything that isn't a muggle au like i feel safest just writing a silly little story and putting my silly little characters into it. the minute i attempt magic and canon compliance i go awry

the ones i want to write!!! like writing just what i want instead of worrying about what people might want to read

What's So Special About Christmas? Remus and Regulus: The holiday spirit engulfed Remus as he stepped into the Great Hall, adorned with Christmas trees at each table, twinkling fairy lights, and festive holly and mistletoe garlands. 

Mistletoe Mojito: Snow falls from a gray sky, gently covering the village of Hogsmeade in a blanket of white. 

What's so Special About Christmas? Sirius and the Potters: “Shouldn’t you be packing?” Remus said, over the top of the book he was trying to read. Sirius had been making it difficult by hovering around the dormitory, staring at his trunk, and sighing loudly. 

Anticipation: “Maybe the letter won’t come.” Regulus said thoughtfully, while he finished washing a dish, handing it to James to dry.

El Reyezuelo de El Dorado: Sirius deserved what was coming to him. Make no mistake, the twisting feeling in my stomach was not guilt or remorse over what I had done.

Wolfsbane of My Existence: The glowing orb of the full buck moon slowly sank below the horizon as the first rays of sunlight penetrated the lush Welsh countryside.

You and Me, Moony: A whistling sound, quiet and distant, caused Remus to stir. He had been in a cold, damp forest. Running from something? No. Chasing something. 

The Three Soulmates of Pandora Lovegood: “Good morning, darling! I’ve made you a special breakfast for the special day!” Pandora said cheerily as she set a plate of eggs and heart-shaped pancakes on the table. 

Fragile Development: Regulus hates his fucking commute.

Hmm interesting! I seem to either start with a very sensory descriptive sentence, or jump right in to character dialog! 😆 Also, I'm actually impressed with myself that I've posted 10 works in less than two years. (Though that last one is about to be hidden for the Horrible Goose Fest because I never finished it. heh.)

The Queen of the Quills - Blackinnon Edition (part 2): Mr. Black has to be the most interesting character in London at the moment.

The Queen of the Quills - Blackinnon Edition (part 3): On a late Saturday afternoon, right at the start of May, Sirius found himself on the front steps of the McKinnons’, one hand rapping the brass knocker on the door, the other wrapped around a large bouquet of fiendishly expensive tulips.

WIP - The Queen of the Quills - Blackinnon Edition (part 4): It has reached this author’s ears that the entire McKinnon family, the Potters and none other than Mr. Sirius Black embarked upon a journey to Greenwich on Thursday.

The Queen of the Quills - Jily Edition: The season has officially opened for the year of 1813, and there is little reason to hope we will see any noticeable change from 1812.

The Queen of the Quills - Jily Edition (part 2): The topic of rakes had, of course, been previously and extensively discussed, but this author has come to the conclusion that there are rakes (lower-case) and Rakes (upper-case).

🍓 How did you get into writing fanfiction? Honestly, that's a great question, but I have absolutely no recollection of how. I know I only get into fandomy stuff when I was about 17 or 18. I've always liked languages and writing, and wrote my tiny stories for myself since I was a teenager, but then they were not fic. I have no idea what fic I read that actually inspired me to start writing.

🍇How many fandoms have you written in?

It actually isn't many, only about four.

🍈 How many years have you been writing fanfiction?

Well, I wrote fic for about 5 years from 18 to 23, then I had a looooooong break and started writing again at the end of last year. It's been slow getting back into it, but ... doing my best.

🍎 Do you read or write more fanfiction?

Definitely read more. I have many ideas, but I've always had a love hate relationship with writing, and I'm a much slower writer than a reader.

🍌 What is one way you've improved as a writer?

Definitely language skills. I'm not a native speaker and writing helped me a lot with stylistics and just generally finding my voice. I learned sometimes less is more. Also indirectly helped me with my job where I now can give a pretty good guidance on how to write essays and stories (am a teacher).

🍑 Do you have any bad habits as a writer?

LENGTH! Though this is funnily something that only shows when I'm roleplaying. I write too much! It's not always a bad thing, but I'd like to write more concisely.

🍍 What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

I might be a boring writer and I don't really remember me writing anything that required a lot of research. I, however, am obsessed with time in my writing and I go to great lengths to be accurate when writing about past and time in the past. So I did research times of sunrise and sunset in certain years, so I could be accurate when writing a scene and the timing of it.

🍉What's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?

Any comments are love, but I love those that engage with you as a writer. Where people give me their theories, or ideas, or where they quote parts they loved the most in my fics.

🍐What's the most fringe trope/topic you write about?

I'm a sucker for slice of life and I don't think I've ever written anything that could be considered a fringe topic.

🥭What is the hardest type of story for you to write?

A story. Period. I think I would be bad at things that are not slice of life. Obviously in Harry Potter we have all the magic and I don't count that, that's more of a setting, but I do love AUs and I still can't imagine writing an AU that's very removed from real life, like for example fantasy or sci-fi. Also writing smut is really hard (I'm willing to push through for this one haha).

🍏What is the easiest type?

None? Writing is torture. I love it thought.

🍑Where do you do your writing? What platform? When?

I usually write at home, though sometimes ideas strike on public transport, so that's where I take notes a lot. I use mostly my computer. And I'm the most productive at night when I should be sleeping.

🍋What is something you've been too nervous/ intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?

In Marauders' fandom, I'm actually intimidated by canon / magical world. I've read the books countless times, but it's been a while since and even though I'm slowly getting back to it, I feel like I need to reread to make sure I'm getting things right. I'd love to write lie low at Lupin's and lost years. And then holy grail would be to write a magical canon-divergence.

🍇What made you choose your username?

I've had many usernames over the years, but the one I'm using currently is a homage to T-Rex's Diamond Meadows. It's a song I've always loved and then it made it's way to my Marlene playlist (who was the first character i picked to roleplay when I get into Marauders' rp) and it became her song in my head. And then it became my username on AO3 (and here minus S).

This has been fun, realised I really don't remember how I got into being involved in the fandom at all, but god, I'm glad I did and I'm glad I'm back after all these years. Tagging anyone who would like to try doing this plus @swoopswrites @moonwalker94 @lemndrps @lovelymasks

3rd chapter WIP: It isn’t until a week after their conversation when Sirius starts earnestly considering the purchase of the leash Remus requested.

ain't nobody. : When Marlene sees him again, she is in the middle of Tesco with Lily, Mary, Dorcas, and Alice, trying to decide what wine goes the best with the turkey they’re planning to prepare for their Christmas dinner.
