Honor Mode Live Blog p2
(for part one go here)
Shorter update today, but still some good progress made!
It was a nice surprise to find that i Forgot I'd just gotten to level 4 by the end of last time. I'm no longer as worried about the Sunlit Wetlands/ Auntie Ethel/ Goblin Camp, though i will still be procrastinating them as long as I can. those fights are scary
Speaking of Ethel: was going to run right towards the wetlands before realizing I hadn't cleared out the apothecary or the blacksmith. I realized this while talking to Ethel at the entrance of the wetlands, though, so....
Failed that initial insight save to see if she was lying about Mayrina, but figured that having made a save at all was enough of an excuse to have Lyra be suspicious. I'm a recovering metagamer irl, I'm allowed to indulge in my video games.
After Ethel poofed away into the wetlands, I turned around to finish clearing out the Blighted village and...
Lyra was very bold in walking directly up to the ogres and striking up a conversation, considering how bad she is at Deception checks.
Perhaps Predictably this resulted in a fight. Thank god for the trip maunoever and command, otherwise we would've had some fatalities. Shadowheart was already being aggroed non-stop for some reason. Speaking of--
"hey where's shadowheart?"
"oh... oh right,, she flew onto the roof to stop being targeted by the ogres...."
Got her down with a handy feather fall potion but the momentary panic was real.
Directly after the fight Lae'zel attempted to start a romance, but Lyra is both Chaste and Carrying a Candle for Wyll, so I had to turn her down for now.
(At this point I crumbled and starting looking up builds for one of my other four save files. I'm incorrigible.)
From there it was a quick jaunt through the apothecary's basement, where I answered all the Magic Mirror's questions right for the first time in any play-through. Go me!
I also did some releveling shenanigans and now shovel is a permanent fixture of the party :D Shovel's my favorite, and she'll also be a lot of help when it comes to getting surprise rounds with my majority non-stealth party. (Guide to get shovel here. Lyra was briefly a proper spellshite)
Jumped over to the blacksmithy, learned about sussur made masterwork weapons, and was about to engage with the ettercaps before I realized two things
First, I had two total spellslots.
Second, it was very late at night and I was very tired. The last time i initiated combat while tired I nearly died three times in a row. Having learned that I make dumb mistakes when tired, I was eager to Not Do Combat for once.
when long resting for the night, gale ate the first magical artifact of the campaign. I waved goodbye to the silver guidance pendant because i forgot to go to my absolute hoard of unused magic items before talking to him. Remember what i said about dumb mistakes?
I'm also back up to over 1000 camp supplies. It was getting close to 1,100 when I logged off. i might have a problem.

headcanon time!!! what is tara’s favourite food? what is wylls favourite food? which one of them prefers to cook for the both of them? and any other food related thoughts you have!!!
THANKS 😭
First of all, I think Wyll - after being banished from the city - grows to really love typically Baldurian meals. Like a specific meal made at the Elfsong Tavern, for example. Anything that reminds him of home. But that doesn't mean he hasn't grown to love food from other places he's visited. For some reason I see him associating memories he likes with food - for example something can remind him of a nice time with his father, or a moment he shared with a family he just saved.
Tara, for a decade, had to eat what was on the table or starve so she never really thought of a favourite food. She can barely remember what her parents used to cook. But she can remember the first food she ate once she was free - kinda. It was her first night in the wilderness with the others and Gale had just made a meal that he thought was merely acceptable. Tara thought it was the best thing she ever ate.
I also think Wyll would be the head chef when it comes to cooking. Tara can make some smaller things like... Well. Salads, maybe. So she's here to be Wyll's assistant (she's just her pretty self who occasionally distracts Wyll-) She does learn to cook, mainly because she needs to take care of herself while Wyll is in Avernus, plus she also has to take care of Yenna. But hey, they're both still alive!
Plus a small sidenote! I don't know about other cultures/countries, because this kinda relies on a type of restaurant that's very typically Belgium, BUT there'd definitely be one day in the week where they eat something unhealthy - the Faerûn equivalent of McDonald's, basically. In Belgium, as a child, we'd have fries on a Friday - not because of the pun but because I'd have dance class in the evening so my parents would drive to a nearby restaurant and order takeout instead of cooking.
If Yenna ever visits from time to time during Wyll x Tara's epilogue (which is when Yenna is in her twenties and Arlys, Wyll x Tara's son, around 10 years old), she'd definitely visit on those cheat-days xD

i want other tidbits of warrior cat events to be mentioned more- i want to see recent thunderclans opinion on the mapleshade story - where a leader banished kits to their death? or that time where bluestar named lostface, or how when frostfur lost her kits, bluestar forbade anyone from leaving camp because she thought it was too stormy to go in search of the kits.
not enough cats remembering or explaining who pinestar was to firepaw, a literal kittypet. (its been a while since i read the firestars quest but i didn’t understand WHY skyclan had to be a secret?)
also the funny funny series of events where tigerheartstar and dovewing plan an elaborate plan to save their son from his war crimes

gonna start an honor mode playthrough soon, and i think i want to romance wyll ! i already have a playthrough romancing him (astarion origin) but i want to see his romance with durge. (and i want to see if killing karlach changes anything even tho I will be heartbroken having to kill my wife) i was gonna have wyll in my party anyway bc my tactician playthrough is going very well and i have him multiclassing with 2 levels in warlock and the rest in bard (song of rest comes in very handy) and in that playthrough (which is my first and so far only tactician run and i still haven't beat it yet, so its very ambitious of me to start an honor mode game but whatever lol) i have karlach and lae'zel with me, im playing as a rogue so i don't need astarion with me to lockpick everything lol. and wyll is my only spellcaster which has been going great bc i dont need to long rest so often ! for honor mode, i'll probably do the same multiclass for wyll and i think i'll have lae'zel and astarion with me. :P wow i just rambled on way too much just to say im going to romance wyll again lmao oops 💀💀💀
