In a similar vein, I think about how Hosea said that Arthur was a brute, dumb, and not that intelligent.

But then again, Hosea knows that it's just an act that Arthur puts on, he knows that Arthur has a heart and cares deeply.

In the same way that the shire revealed its true nature with time and care, so did Arthur. Beneath the harsh exterior, Hosea always saw the true goodness in Arthur.

I tried to understand why people are being so fucking mean about the prospect of Mick potentially being signed for Cadillac, and then I realized that they’re just mad because they think Mick is a nepo baby who isn’t good enough and only gets a chance at F1 because of Michael.

Let me remind you of two things:

1.) Mick was not given a fair chance in F1. Haas ‘21 was a fucking nightmare of a season and the VF-21 was a piece of shit.

and

2.) Mick never wanted to be a nepo baby. When he first started his motorsport career in 2008, he originally went by the pseudonym Mick Betsch to avoid attention by using his mother’s maiden name.

The way Abigail begged for John not to go after Micah, she begged and pleaded and she cried and cried after he left.

Obsessive ASOIAF theorizing misses the point of the stories, I think! George's goal is to tell us a sweeping fantasy with heavy romantic elements and really beautiful characterization grappling with themes of redemption, power, agency, identity, love, loss, growth, death, (re)birth, etc etc. He obviously has some big plot points and mysteries, but those serve to reinforce the themes (e.g. Rhaegar and Lyanna are there to talk to us about love and tragedy and cycles and identity). George isn't chucking in a mystery to just have a wild and shocking reveal, he's putting it in to serve a narrative point and when you lose sight of that you are losing the plot, quite literally.

To me, it's much more interesting to see how certain themes develop over time as George sits with them (e.g. Jaime's progression from the outline into his POV character form is a perfect example), historical inspirations (BUT not as a way to crack a code!!!), and literary allusions and references.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, obsessed with the concept of Snart not introducing Barry (as Barry) to Mick bc he's worried that Mick won't like Barry and will do something drastic, or vice versa

And then Mick and Barry meet without Snart being around and become best friends
