buffy!!
sorry i put off answering this for so long bc i was super busy suddenly and then i was overthinking about rambling too much about my answers asjfkdj but thanks for asking i love an excuse to talk about characters
Favourite character: At the moment Tara from my rewatch (im in the middle of s5 currently) but in general Spike but also Buffy bc shes Buffy you know
Funniest character: I think it has to be Buffy when considering who's funny on purpose. But Spike is also funny on accident by just being a little idiot sometimes
Best-looking character: Gotta say Spike
3 favourite ships: Kinda hard to answer bc I actually dont like most of the relationships on this show that much 1. Obviously Spuffy, I had seen spuffy posts on tumblr ages ago and I was like thinking oh this is probably not gonna be fully canon and then I screamed when s5 and 6 happened. 2. Spike and Drusilla I just think theyre very fun to watch together 3. conflicted between Jenny Calender and Giles, bc it was kinda brief and Tara and Willow, bc I just didnt like Willow as much in later seasons so Im just not fully invested in either I guess
Least favourite character: hmm i dont know when I first rewatched I really disliked Glory and not in a this is the villain way but in a this character is really annoying me way but during rewatching my feelings on lots of characters have changed and theres a lot of characters that have moments or arcs where they annoy me a lot but none really stands out as a least favourite
Least favourite ship: I dont really hate any ship but I guess Xander and Anya I just didnt get why they got together besides wanting to have sex (shoutout to bangel just for constantly being brought up again like it was fine it made sense for the story but he left after s3 pls let him just leave)
Reason why I watch it: Its felt very just fun and different from what I had been watching before in a refreshing way. Really liked how things would be unexpected but it wasnt being over the top just kinda a genuine fun time. Then Spike was introduced and I got Spike brain worms lmao
Why I started watching it: Basically bc of Spuffy and I saw gifsets ages ago probably around 2013 and I was like seems like a cool show and then I saw Spuffy gif sets and I was like oooh and I remember seeing a video of him having to sing to Buffy in Once More With Feeling and being sold on the ship and then on top of that I found out he's a vampire so I was so in. I didnt really see much of it later but I think I just heard things about it being influential and just good in general so I was like ok I need to watch it sometime and then I started watching it as a chill show while working on my bachelor thesis (ended up only getting to it like 10 years but shh)

Soooooo.....Penelope grows Jimson Weed in the greenhouse. I don't know how I missed that one before, but I did.
So, for those of you who don't know, Jimson Weed is another name for Datura.
Datura is like, a hellish delieriant. It causes hallucinations that seem real. It's like being in a living nightmare seeing entire people and having entire experiences that are absolutely not happening. Oh man.
So, my theory is that Cheryl's most vivid hallucinations are caused by the ingestion of Datura via Penelope.
Receipts below the cut. <3
Do I think she has hallucinations without this? Possibly, we'll get to that.
Do I think Penelope would do this? Absolutely and frankly, I think it would be more shocking if she didn't.
Penelope benefits greatly from impairing, discrediting, and destroying Cheryl.
I think she does it as a punishment, for practical reasons (in S2 especially), and because it's her thing. Penelope loves to poison people. It's her favorite.
So, let's talk about Cheryl's hallucinations.
The very first thing we need to establish here is that Cheryl hallucinates.
Here's her first major hallucination.
Tumblr media
This occurs in S1. Ep. 5 - Chapter Five: Heart of Darkness. Cheryl is not dreaming here. She is fully awake watching her mother and grandmother put flowers on Jason's grave.
Tumblr media
Her second major hallucination occurs in S1. Ep. 13 - Chapter Thirteen: The Sweet Hereafter. Once again, she is not dreaming. This is a full-on hallucination.
Tumblr media
Her last major hallucination is in S5. Ep. 11 - Chapter Eighty-Seven: Strange Bedfellows. Once again, she is awake here.
Now, what are the similarities between these three hallucinations? Well, first of all, they're all of Jason. So, you could easily choose to interpret these as a supernatural bond she has with him or even as a metaphor for her grief.
However, there's another similarity. Penelope is directly involved with these hallucinations. She's in 2/3 of the scenes and for the Sweetwater River incident, she was definitely a catalyst.
You'll notice I didn't mention Cheryl's "talks with Jason" either at the Farm or in her house. The reason being is that we never actually see or hear the hallucinations. We only know from context and her talking about it. Therefore, we cannot determine their nature. (Not only that, but it is highly likely that the ones she has at the farm are created/exacerbated by maple mushrooms administered by Edgar.)
Now, what we can determine is that Cheryl's hallucinations likely go beyond the solid examples listed above.
She talks of having a "frightful daymare" in Season 2 and then mentions having a "horrible phantasmagoria" in season 4. In both instances, she mistakes reality for a dream, which tells us she's not always sure whether she is dreaming or awake.
Additionally, when at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy, Cheryl assumes that Toni calling out to her is a hallucination. She reacts to the sound of Toni's voice, but immediately recovers and starts to cry harder. This implies that her first instinct is to assume that she cannot trust what she hears.
Now, these three things together imply that Cheryl has hallucinated before with enough regularity to expect it. She has a familiarity with the experience of hallucinating.
Now, let's talk about the times Cheryl does not seem to hallucinate at all.
Namely, season 3, part of season 5, and season 6. (Not counting season 7 here. That's an au.)
In season 3, I think it's too much of a risk to poison Cheryl. Those pesky seizures could mean bloodwork and Penelope wouldn't risk it. Not to mention the fact that Toni is always hanging around. Penelope has far less opportunity (not to mention bigger fish to fry).
The SoQM Conversion Therapy moment: Stress and hallucinations go hand in hand. She doesn't seem to hallucinate while she's there. Could she possibly be on anti-psychotics? Maybe, but those take time to work. More time than she spends there.
Season 5 Prior to Penelope's Return & S6: No Penelope.
Now let's address the why of it all. Why poison Cheryl with Datura? Honestly, I think it's as simple as sadism.
-This is a private game. It's primarily to fuck with Cheryl & manipulate her. Unfortunately, it only seems to trigger episodes with Jason. So, I'm sure Penelope is disappointed with that.
-This goes hand in hand with my theory on Penelope drugging Nana as well. Her dementia seems to "get better" when Penelope is not there.
-Also, that's not how psychotic symptoms work . They get worse with stress and that is not the case for Cheryl.
Now, the last thing I'll say on this is that I think multiple things can be true. Cheryl can be psychotic and Penelope can be drugging her AND it could be supernatural. Why not? This is Riverdale.

Widely accepted Hermitcraft Headcanons I’ve discovered since joining the fanbase last winter:
[ADD MORE IF I MISSED SOME!]
(DISCLOSURE: I’m currently 80% of the way through S7 and I’ve seen Grian’s POV of S6 (and his Evo series) but other that than I haven’t watched other HC seasons. All my knowledge of these comes from what I’ve seen, and Tumblr.)
- Grian has wings. This is an indisputable fact. Sometimes they’re white/gray like elytra, sometimes they’re like parrot wings (S7 Pesky Bird~), but they’re always there somehow. Often he’s also portrayed as a bird hybrid, since the concept of Mob Hybrid Hermits is an exceedingly popular one.
- (Less common addition: Grian is/was a Watcher, something that carried over from his Evo SMP series, though this headcanon is hit or miss depending on who’s drawing/writing him.)
- Mumbo is one of the few totally human people on the server, and half the art I see draws him with redstone dust stains on his clothes. (Also, the occasional headcanon of radiation burns accompanies this.)
- (I’ve also seen Mumbo portrayed as an enderman hybrid due to his height.)
- Stress is technically human, but she’s also a witch. Seen this one a lot, perhaps in relation to her potion shop in S7? Like I said that’s the only season I’ve seen in depth (beyond Grian’s S6) so that’s my only connection lol. But I love it! You need a healer? Go to Stress.
- Doc - of course - is half creeper, which may or may not have a hand in why he’s often morally gray in most HC plots. I often see him drawn as a centaur of sorts as well, with four legs like a creeper has. (Not sure if I love or hate this concept lmao)
- Doc is also part goat, a la S7. Hence the horns we see in like every drawing of him. Amazing.
- Tango is often portrayed as a blaze hybrid, though I’ve also seen him drawn as a kind of demon. The red eyes and fiery color palette work well for both options, though I’m partial to the blaze theory.
- Impulse - though usually drawn as a normal dude - is also sometimes seen as a sort of friendly demon. Not sure if that’s to do with the nickname Tango uses for him - “Impy” - or just the fact that the fans seem to like the idea of Hermits with wings. Though the fact that his first appearance on Hermitcraft involved the other members summoning him in with a summoning circle most definitely adds to this headcanon.
- Zed is a sheep hybrid. I’ve got no friggin’ clue where this one’s from but I’m here for it anyway. (EDIT: I’ve been told it probably has a lot to do with a game show he made during Season 5 called “Is That Sheep Looking At Me?” which sound hysterical and I can’t wait to see what that’s about)
- Scar is a vex hybrid, which is also part of why he was able to use “magic” at the start of Season 7. As far as I know this comes from ConVex, which was a S5 thing, but that’s all I know on the subject.
- (Cub, too, is sometimes a vex hybrid, due to being the other half of ConVex. Though this depends on the artist.)
- Xisuma is a Voidwalker, though I’m not entirely sure what that is. Apparently this is different than a Watcher and (obviously) has something to do with the void, but while I’ve seen this concept in passing in fics, I don’t have a basis for where this came from outside of Xisuma’s username, Xisumavoid. (If anyone can explain this to me I’d appreciate it! It sounds cool even if I don’t fully understand it!)
- I’ve ALSO seen the “Xisuma is a shapeshifter” or “Xisuma is a bee/axolotl/strider hybrid” because of how many different mob-based skins he’s used over the past few seasons.
- Ren is a werewolf or a canine-based shapeshifter. Friggin’ love this idea actually, and I’m never sure if this is solely based on Ren’s name or on something he did in a season I haven’t seen yet, because knowing him he’d totally have a wolfman character somewhere in his repertoire.
- Bdubs - and this is a headcanon I discovered more recently and it makes sense - is a phantom hybrid. He’s so finicky about sleep, and if he’s kept awake during the night he gets in a pissy mood because of it. I don’t see him drawn with any features from phantoms often, but behavioral habits show up in fics a lot. (Though a part of me finds this one funny because it also feels a bit backwards - phantoms are AWAKE at night and Bdubs abhors night time - but hey, maybe phantoms are just trying to kill you because you’re keeping them awake with your late night thoughts lol.)
- xB is often some kind of water creature hybrid, like a guardian or (occasionally, more recently) a glow squid. Super cool concept in my opinion.
- Joe may look human, but he is decidedly not normal. Either he’s some sort of humanoid cryptid, he has undefined psychic abilities, or he’s just in tune with the universe in a way most people aren’t.

hi I’m going to list off my favorite emotional scenes in Teen Wolf that made me stop and think “oh my god - I thought this was just a campy teen drama.” Don’t mind me. (Not in a particular order.)
1) When Stiles thinks he has the same type of dementia that his mom had, and him and Scott hug each other before he has his CAT scan, and he just sobs as he holds his best friend. That scene WRECKED me and I will never get over it. It, in my opinion, was the most emotional scene in the entire show because it wasn’t about anything supernatural or mystical. It was a real issue that people have to face every single day.
2) In s3, again when Stiles is mentally fighting the nogitsune and hasn’t slept in weeks. He goes to Scott’s mom for help, because that’s who he has for a mother figure. He needs someone to take care of him and he knows she always will. He breaks down in front of her, terrified over what’s happening to him, and she makes him sleep with a sedative (in a loving, caring way). He calls her mom as he goes under, and that scene might never leave my heart. Ever.
3) When Aiden dies in his twin brother, Ethan’s, arms. The fact that his last thoughts were that he still was going to die as the villain, even though everyone knew he was redeemed as a hero. Ethan and Aiden were never my favorite characters, but his death was so immensely sad and it was too much for me. He was just a kid.
4) The entire episode of Motel California. Isaac literally having to relive his childhood trauma - like what the actual heck? And of course, the scene when Stiles not only tries to talk Scott out of suicide, but then tells him if he’s going to kill himself then Stiles is going to die with him. AND THEN HE STEPS INTO THE GASOLINE. I literally ... I can’t. The relationship between Stiles and Scott might be the most wholesome friendship in any show I’ve ever seen.
5) When the Sherriff refused to let Stiles admit himself into Eichen House and uses the excuse that Stiles needed his pillow because he couldn’t sleep without it. Then, as he’s near tears fighting his son, telling him he couldn’t live with himself if he left him there without his pillow because he wouldn’t ever sleep, Stiles just looks at him and says, “Dad, I haven’t slept in days.” I think Stiles and his dad are my second favorite relationship in that show. There’s nothing compared to their father/son bond.
6) When no one will believe Lydia that Stiles is real in s6 and she breaks down outside of where his door should be. What hurts me the most from this was that Stiles ALWAYS believed in her. It didn’t matter if she had zero proof, he always believed her and always convinced everyone else to believe her. If no one went along with it, Stiles always did. But when he was gone, she had no one to believe her, and no one to help her find him. Lydia always went to Stiles when she needed his help, and in many scenes she’s at his door for his help. This scene killed me because it reflected how she needed him, she came to his door, but it wasn’t there anymore and the way she broke down against the wall made ME break down.
7) When the Sherriff remembers Stiles in s6 and his wife has to “die” in order for him to fully remember. Just. That’s it. There’s no other words to say. It was a BEAUTIFUL scene and I... I can’t.
8) In s3b when Stiles has the nightmare within a nightmare within a nightmare, and when he finally wakes up he’s screaming and panicking and his dad has to come in and hold him down like this wasn’t a new thing. That’s called PTSD guys, and it’s real. This scene killed me.
9) s3b again, but when Stiles can’t read in class and runs out and has a panic attack in the bathroom. Scott follows him and Stiles is insisting that its a dream, and Scott has to talk him through that panic attack as well as showing him he’s really awake. The realness in this scene just... all of s3b had me crying tbh.
10) When Stiles has a panic attack in s3a. I swear this show got so real sometimes. They dealt with panic attack's a lot in the show and I appreciated it so much because YES. Teenagers going through this crap WOULD have panic attacks. I mean heck I have panic attacks without my friends and family all almost dying on a regular basis. It was so so sad and it just broke my heart for him.
11) in s6, when Stiles is being erased and he runs to his dad. He goes to him terrified of what’s happening and he hugs him and is frantically explaining and his dad asks him what his name is. That scene hurts. Stiles not being remembered by his dad is crushing, and it really hit me that he was really being taken. Seeing the realization on Stiles’ face is heartbreaking.
12) When Stiles is about to be taken in s6 and tells Lydia she’s going to forget him and she says “I won’t” and he just says, “Lydia, you will,” but she still refuses to believe it. Then once he’s taken, she sits there and says “remember, remember” and the next scene Scott and Malia ask her what she’s forgetting and she says she can’t remember.
13) When Lydia walks to and waits by Stiles locker in s6a after he’s been taken, and she doesn’t know who’s she’s waiting for, she just knows she’s supposed to meet someone there.
14) When Lydia realizes/remembers she never once told Stiles she loved him.
15) When Lydia stays with Stiles even though she knows Allison is about to die, and then can sense her death and sobs as she lays on an unconscious Stiles for comfort. Lydia goes through hell in s3b and I don’t think we realize it enough. She not only was emotionally tied to Stiles and had to not only watch but feel the pain he was going through with the nogitsune, but she knew Allison was going to die and knew there was nothing she could do about it.
16) s3a when Lydia can feel what’s happening to Stiles but she can’t do anything about it so she just cries and banshee screams in her car.
17) When Isaac has a breakdown in Argent’s arms after Allison’s death.
18) The entire backstory of Isaac. Like. Guys he was so abused that poor boy deserved so much better. His goodbye made me mad - we got so attached to him and then he just left and never came back.
19) in s5 when they save Lydia from Eichen House but they think she’s dead, and Stiles begs her to open her eyes. I literally hold my breath every time I watch that scene. The tears in Stiles’ eyes, his broken expression, Scott and Deaton looking at Stiles like they don’t know how to handle Stiles if she’s dead, it’s... it’s so much emotion. And the relief on everyone’s face when she finally breathes. Just... damn.
20) The entirety of Stiles dealing with the death of Donovan. I can hardly get through s5 because I can’t stand to watch the pain Stiles go through the entire season. He is emotionally tortured the whole time, and it’s not like is s3 when its a supernatural force - it’s his own darkness being used against him. He almost loses his dad, he almost loses Lydia countless of times, Scott (his BEST FRIEND, the guy he calls BROTHER) loses trust in him, and he has to live with the death of Donovan on his conscience with literally no support. Stiles was always, like Lydia, right about just about everything. Yet, no one ever picked his side - which left him having to fight his demons, AGAIN, alone.
I’m gonna leave it there at 20. However, I could go on for hours. This show man - how is it one of the campiest, yet funniest, yet most emotional shows I’ve watched in a really long time?

B/7, 12
12. Things you said when you thought I was asleep
This doesn’t really place in canon but we’ll say it’s somewhere around late s6/early s7. Also on ao3. Many thanks to @steellily for giving it a once over.
B'Elanna walked quietly into Cargo Bay 2 and smiled softly at Harry’s slumped form in a chair across from Seven’s alcove.
She bent to whisper in his ear. “Hey, Starfleet, Megan Delaney is looking for you in the Mess.”
Harry’s head shot up and he nearly fell out of the chair.
B'Elanna chuckled lightly before she reached out to stop his fall and help him stand. “Shift’s up, I’ll take over before the Captain comes by.”
Harry quirked an eyebrow. “You sure about that?”
B'Elanna held up her padds. “Yep, I got some reports to go through. Chakotay briefed me on all the protocol.”
Harry nodded. “You know it includes calling the Doc if she wakes up?”
B'Elanna rolled her eyes. “Don’t worry, I got this. Get some sleep.”
“Thanks, come see me after?”
B'Elanna nodded. “Promise.”
She left out the part where she’d wait a couple of hours. Harry looked like he was going to keel over and while he might not admit it, she knew he could use the extra sleep. Besides, B'Elanna was sure Seven wouldn’t wake.
Harry finally left and B'Elanna checked Seven’s vitals before she took Harry’s seat and started to read her first padd. It was a report from Astrometrics.
Without thinking much of it, she started to talk. “You know Ensign Tal is doing much better. She’s no you or Harry, of course, but her reports are a lot less scattered. She says she hopes you’ll continue helping her when you get better. I didn’t know you were spending some of your off time teaching her rudimentary algorithms. I guess the captain probably asked you to.”
Seven made no movement and her alcove faintly hummed in the way it always did when she regenerated.
B'Elanna shook her head at her own foolishness in thinking Seven would stir at the mention of her beloved lab. It was probably a futile attempt though B'Elanna swore any mention of the warp core would bring her out of a dead sleep.
An hour later and three completed reports, B'Elanna stood and paced to stretch her legs. She noticed a picture laid out by the left side of Seven’s alcove and recognized Naomi’s signature at the bottom. She picked it up and smiled.
“I have a couple of these.” She turned to look up at Seven. “She’s been worried sick, you know, trying to pull shifts in Engineering and Astrometrics to cover for you. She’s pretty helpful though she did try to enact one of your improvements to my warp core.”
Seven didn’t stir and B'Elanna shook her head. “Don’t worry, I didn’t yell at her. I complimented her. She was so proud to explain it was your idea. She asked me to please consider more of your adjustments then she said,” B'Elanna paused and crossed her arms. “She said my approval means a lot to you.” She scoffed and shook her head, carrying Naomi’s picture to the small corner of the bay where Seven kept them.
She settled in front of Seven again and peered up thoughtfully.
“Does it really mean anything to you? Cause you sure as hell don’t act like it, running around Engineering like you own the place.”
B'Elanna sighed and realized she was being a bit harsh. In truth, Seven hadn’t done anything without permission in months. B'Elanna hadn’t really taken the time to notice the change till Seven got hurt on the away mission and B'Elanna felt her absence more than she anticipated.
B'Elanna dropped her arms and tilted her head. “I’m sorry, you know? I don’t hate your ideas and I like the fact that you don’t cower in a corner when I snap.”
She shrugged. “I don’t even mean it half the time but you just…”
B'Elanna brought her hands up to rest on her hips. “You have this way of just getting under my skin and it frustrates the hell out of me because sometimes,” she brought up a hand to point as if Seven could see her, “and only sometimes you’re kind of right.”
B'Elanna wished Seven would open her eyes and correct her then but she stayed still, eyes closed and alcove humming.
B'Elanna sighed and checked her vitals again. There was no change on the console but B'Elanna grabbed the tricorder just in case. She checked Seven over a few times before she closed the instrument slowly. Still stable and still just as unconscious.
B'Elanna settled back in her chair and spent the next two hours finishing her reports. As she faced the final hour of her shift, she felt bored and started to wander around the Cargo Bay. Other than a small display of Naomi’s artwork and a small cylinder container with Seven’s name on it, there wasn’t much in terms of personal effects. B'Elanna passed a small padd that Seven was probably reading before they were called into a meeting about the mission. She picked it up and realized it was a selection of love songs and a list of possible romance novels. B'Elanna quirked an eyebrow at Seven’s form as she tried to reconcile what she knew about Seven with the tablet. She remembered the doctor’s failed attempt at teaching Seven a couple of years ago and the ridiculous research she’d done on B'Elanna and Tom.
She shook her head at the thought now. So much for the two of us being a study in romance. She rolled her eyes as she remembered their recent explosive breakup. She grabbed the padd and approached Seven.
“Doing research again, Seven? I hope you’ve realized the doc isn’t much help by now.”
She shrugged. “I don’t know that many people on board would be much help though Neelix would probably jump at the chance to offer advice. He’s sweet but I promise you, he’s not as knowledgeable as he’d like to think.” She chuckled slightly. “I’m not sure what you’re looking for. I think if Chapman wasn’t so terrified of every woman, he’d jump at another chance. No doubt the doctor didn’t explain things well. You should be with someone who, I don’t know, makes you smile, challenges you and respects you. Someone that Naomi likes because I’m sure you’d consult her opinion. Kid is actually a good judge of character.”
She thought for a moment and put the padd down. “You’ll need someone who can be patient when you don’t understand something because you never like to admit it and you’re shit at asking for help, but you need someone there willing to explain stuff to you. Be careful with these romance novels, real relationships aren’t exactly the same. I mean, the odds of finding someone truly your equal is…”
B'Elanna rolled her eyes. “All I’m saying is don’t be surprised if you can’t find anyone on board who’s good enough.”
She looked up and whispered her next words.
“But it doesn’t mean you don’t deserve someone great, Seven. And uh, when you get better, I’d like to hear this singing voice I’ve heard such great things about.”
B'Elanna gathered her reports and stacked them near the door. She checked the time and realized she had another half hour before the captain arrived. She picked up Seven’s padd and put it back where it came from but not before pulling up one of the novels she listed.
“How bout we start a few chapters of Love at the Academy?”
****
A few days later, Seven was awake and back on duty. She knocked on B'Elanna’s office door.
B'Elanna looked up from her report. “What’s up, Seven?”
Seven hesitated for a moment. “Lieutenant, I require…request your presence this evening.”
B'Elanna raised an eyebrow. “My presence for what?”
Seven straightened her shoulders, an act B'Elanna knew meant she was slightly nervous. “I would like to thank you for visiting me during my recovery and I’ve prepared a song for you.”
B'Elanna turned fully to look at her. “A song?”
“Yes, unless you no longer wish to hear the voice you’ve ‘heard so much about’.”
B'Elanna’s eyes widened and she startled a moment before she nodded. “Uh, sure, Seven, that sounds great.”
Seven nodded and turned, stopping near the door as she added, “It’s a date, Lieutenant, please prepare accordingly.”
B'Elanna opened and closed her mouth a few times before she let out a nervous laugh. “It’s a date,” she whispered.
