Why Electric Actuators Are Now the Core of Robotic Automation❓
From manufacturing lines to service robots, automation is everywhere—and at the heart of it all lies one powerful component: the electric actuator.
An electric actuator converts electrical energy into precise motion using a motor and a reducer. It's the key to enabling robots to move smoothly, lift accurately, and repeat tasks reliably without human intervention.
As robots get smaller and more advanced, actuators must follow suit. Bon Systems’ BCSA series answers this demand with its slim yet high-torque design, using in-house developed cycloidal gear technology. This structure not only maximizes torque but also minimizes space, allowing for more innovative and compact robot designs.
Whether it’s for an autonomous mobile robot in a warehouse or a collaborative arm in manufacturing, reliable actuators make the difference between a demo and real-world performance.
BonSystems offers custom actuator design, scalable production, and engineering support to bring your automation to life.

honestly game fans in general extend A Lot of credence (probably too much in most cases) to the "cut" or the "scrapped". like if a dev says "we considered doing X but chose not to because Y" fans tend to eternally construe it as Cut Content. like even if no effort was ever meaningfully devoted to actuating the idea, the notion that it crossed devs' minds for even a split-second means we have to act like it's Fully Realized Material That We Were Balefully Deprived Of. & likewise game pitches/design docs that were never greenlit (eg that one mario volleyball thing, the metroid prime spinoff pitch, etc) are treated as Cancelled Games even though they, like, never actually Started (let alone got cancelled!)

A doll, made of steel, porcelain, brass, hard unrelenting materials that you could hit as hard as you'd like, and even if its porcelain chipped, she would still be more than functional. Its joints and mechanisms redundant, hydraulic systems doubled for reliability, core, synchronized and double calculated for stability. The most reliable system the woman had ever seen. Every joint precision ground. Every bearing press fit into a shock resistant housing. Even it's feet were custom made of hardened stainless steel, each toe and fastener made from a milled block of hardened steel, tamper resistant, naturally. But even as she marveled at the doll, she wondered who'd made such a thing so seemingly delicate in nature, a maid as its dress suggested, so reliable and damage resistant, why ruggedize something made to dust the frames of a house it might never see the outside of?
But that was the confusing part. The machine refused to function, it simply laid there, unmoving, unclicking, dead as if its mainspring had never been wound. Every mechanism she inspected was free of dust, every hydraulically actuated ligament pressurized correctly, it was the most peculiar thing.
But it still acted as if something were wrong. She scratched her head, clearly she were missing something. When it had arrived at her door, it had collapsed on the ground, with a note in its hand begging her to fix the thing. But she ran a leather workshop and the only possible piece of leather she could find was the belt affixing the dolls dress to its waist.
But still, she had once been a mechanic, so she began looking into the doll's problems. Off came the arms, legs, paneling. Still nothing revealed itself. She found its cores, humming magically, seals still intact, both of them synchronized by the most meticulous set of gearing she'd ever laid eyes on. But it was meticulously clean, as if it had never seen a speck of dirt in its life.
Eventually she reassembled the doll, dress and all, before noticing something, a small, well worn ring of parts around the dolls neck. The brass was shiny while the rest had acquired that patena that signified not wear or misuse, but age. Everything bore use, although still it was meticulously cleaned. But not this small stripe of doll around it's neck.
About an inch and a half wide, all the way around, and only in the one spot. She puzzled for a moment, before finally understanding that it wasn't something inside the doll that had broken, but something that it was missing.
She set to work, pulling out her leather working tools and creating a plain black collar. Set with steel hardware and a small brass lock in the back. As she placed the collar on the dollar, it's eyes began to glow again, she sat back, smiled and enjoyed her work for a moment while the doll began to smile.
A sharp rap on the door broke her from the trance of having done good work, and as she opened it a witch stepped in.
"thank you dear, I'm afraid she simply won't work without it, and she went running off to find you before I could stop her. It seems to be in lovely working order now, thank you"
The rudeness of the witch, barging into her workspace without even asking bothered the woman, but the audacity stunned her more than anything.
"How could you let such a thing happen. Arent you supposed to protect such a thing?"
She said this with anger, brows furrowed as clearly this was something a responsible witch would never let happen, she opened her mouth to continue before the witch interrupted her.
"What you see before you is something I have spent longer than you have been alive creating. Every gear, joint, bearing, bone, and set screw has been meticulously created with the precision that would rival anything you've ever done. I use my design as an act of love. I am no leatherworker as my doll knows, and she knows I'd never let something less than perfect grace her body. So she came here, the workshop that held your mother, all those years ago, who created the collar that helped the doll become what she is. She came to the one place in the world she saw as suitable to create what she needed most, the last token of love she could possibly give me, the final gift she could give of the free will she had after her last collar was ripped from her by someone trying to 'set her free from slavery'"
"The gift of her service, and a show of giving me back what others thought was forced from her. It was her choice, to never choose again. And I love her more than I could ever say."

This idea came from someone asking me about V’s internal organs and gastro/intestinal workings. I delved into a bit of bio/mechanical research that might make sense in the Cyberpunk world. Follow the jump below!
↓
SomaTek specializes in manufacturing synthetic organs designed to transcend our organic limitations.
SomaTek GastroPro™
In a world ravaged by toxic food chains, tainted water supplies, and unreliable agriculture, the GastroPro™ synthetic stomach- amply nicknamed “the iron gut”- is a feat of mechanical organ replacement. Capable of digesting virtually any hazardous or non-nutritive substance without harm, while mimicking and surpassing the core functions of a natural biological system.
The GastroPro™ environment utilizes a stabilized industrial-grade acidic solution (SomaTek’s trademarked confidential blend of fluorinated superacids exceeds the hydrochloric acid and pepsin present in an organic stomach) that is non-corrosive to internal components due to reactive smart hydrogel linings. This acid bath breaks down everything: from your home cooked dinner, to food past its expiration, to actual garbage- designed to adapt to a full range of ingested toxicity. After processing, the liquified matter proceeds to a secondary chamber which is programmed with enzymatic nano filters to separate and neutralize indigestible items versus actual processable materials. *Note that the GastroPro™ is incapable of operating in isolation. The following organic systems are required to be enhanced or replaced:
Esophagus (GastroLine™) is equipped with reinforced smart hydrogel lining to withstand both caustic substances and abrasive matter. Peristaltic actuators move matter regardless of shape or size, while micro-blade emulsifiers begin compacting particularly dense or fibrous materials. Anti-reflux valves prevent acid from backing up.
Liver, Pancreas, Gall Bladder (GastroTox™ Subsystem) further supports the GastroPro™ by processing even rarer or complex toxins, capable of converting them into an array of energy for the body dependent on specific inputs. For example: chemical, electrical, first and second generation biofuel, etc. (Optional but highly recommended)
Intestines & Appendix (GastroTract™) serves as the primary absorption and release unit. Lined with nutrient-binding nanites to extract usable calories, vitamins, minerals, or chemicals. Absorption channels direct these throughout the body via embedded villi structures to the bloodstream and lymphatic system. In users with further modifications, waste may be redirected to a bypass port location of their choosing. The most popular choice being via a urinary tract.
Oral Cavity (OraPro™ Subsystem) is a customizable sum of parts that further supports the GastroPro™ with an artificial tongue embedded with gustatory receptors, reinforced cheek/gum lining, and teeth strong as chrome. (Optional but highly recommended)
Brain Chemistry (CraveShard™) the neural implant designed to be installed into the cyberdeck to simulate, regulate, or even suppress cravings. (Optional but highly recommended) The user may override urges based on their schedule and preferences, as well as control serotonin and dopamine feedback. The implant works harmoniously with receptors built into the GastroPro™ to recognize the identity of consumed materials. It can even reproduce the effects caused by ingested alcohol, hallucinogenics, opioids, narcotics, etc.
Advantages over natural digestion include immunity to internal poisoning, pathogens, parasites, and contaminants. Zero indigestion, zero allergic reaction. Accelerated enzyme breakdown. And multi-source nutrition: users can derive sustenance from otherwise indigestible materials.
Please be aware the GastroPro™ is not without its complications. Over-reliance can result in malabsorption issues if the user abuses the capabilities of the GastroPro™. Care should be taken to continuously ingest products with beneficial properties. In the event of nutrient deficits, the user’s deck will receive periodic warnings regarding nutritional supplementation to prevent systemic decline. Psychosomatic disorders may also emerge as a result of losing sensory pleasure of consumption (“digestion dissonance'”- disconnect with satiety) if the recommended OraPro™ Subsystem and CraveShard™ are not installed.
Regular care encompasses monthly detox flushes, filter replacements, nanite reseeding, and pH rebalancing treatments. All of which can be accomplished via a doctor licensed to administer Somatek devices.

People being not all that thrilled during the festival of the supreme being compilation
Tumblr media
It should not be believed that there was much incense for the god of the day. I heard many imprecations uttered loud enough to reach even the ears of the priest. It has been said that he could have taken advantage of that day to declare his sovereignty; this is not to be believed, discontent was everywhere, satisfaction and joy nowhere. It is much truer to say that his downfall was sworn in this triumphal procession: many made no secret of it, and if the interval was not the principal cause, at least the conspirators took advantage of it to increase their numbers and make people believe in the dictatorship. Moreover, the ceremony ended with an amphibological speech without force, without vigor, and Robespierre gained nothing from his supposed triumph but the hatred of some and the contempt of others, having been unable to give either character or dignity to such a lofty declaration. There were no more than eight people between Robespierre and me, I heard all the curses; they came from Thirion de Montaut, from Ruamps and especially from Lecointre de Versailles, who more than twenty times called Robespierre dictator! tyrant! and threatened to kill him. Notes historiques sur la Convention nationale, le Directoire, l'Empire et l'exil des votants (1893) by Marc-Antoine Baudot
On the day he had designated for his triumph (20 Prairial), I (Lecointre) was indignant at the applause that marked his presence; and I cried out that I despised him as much as I abhorred him, with a force of voice that the applause could not cover. I carried the expression of my hatred to his ears, every time the applause was renewed with affectation; he complained about it, saying, at the tribune of the Convention, on 8 Thermidor, that he had been insulted by a member; the day of the festival of the Supreme Being, and he demanded vengeance.
Sure of having sown the seed, I (FouchÊ) had the courage to defy [Robespierre], on the 20th Prairial (June 8 1794), a day on which, actuated with the ridiculous idea of solemnly acknowledging the existence of the Supreme Being, he dared to proclaim himself both his will and agent, in presence of all the people assembled at the Tuileries. As he was ascending the steps of his lofty tribune, whence he was to proclaim his manifesto in favour of God, I predicted to him aloud (twenty of my colleagues heard it) that his fall was near. Memoirs of FouchÊ (1825) page 20.
On the day of the Festival of the Supreme Being, before the people, [Bourdon de l’Oise] allowed himself the most vulgar sarcasms and the most indecent declamations on this subject. He remarked, with wickedness, to the members of the Convention, the signs of interest which the public gave to the president, in order to draw atrocious inductions against him, in the sense of the enemies of the Republic. Robespierre in a note on Bourdon de l’Oise written somewhere after the passing of the law of 22 prairial.
On the Champ-de-Mars, when Babeuf, Bourdon and others said that Robespierre would perish by their hands, my husband said to me: “The homeland is lost!” Memoirs of Élisabeth Le Bas, cited in Le conventionnel Le Bas : d'après des documents inédits et les mémoires de sa veuve (1901) by Stéfane-Pol, page 136.
On the day of the beautiful feast of the Eternal, a shameful masquerade and sacrilegious farce, which must cover us all with shame and humiliation, I said to a deputy, seeing the amiable Robespierre at the head of the Senate, which he had used as decoration for his pantomimes: Do you see Robespierre? I give him six more weeks to live... Testament d'un Êlecteur de Paris (1795) by Beffroy de Reigny, p. 142.
I attended this celebration, which was given in the Tuileries Gardens. A huge orchestra was set up at the foot of the Clock Pavilion, where the members of the Convention occupied the salons. Robespierre kept  his colleagues waiting for a long time, which greatly upset them. Souvenirs de M. Berryer, doyen des avocats de Paris (1839), volume 1, p. 222.
Among the members who would have thus come to insult [Robespierre] to the limit, Fréron, Lecointre and Bourdon d’Oise have been cited; one has even gone so far as to attribute these words to Lecointre: Robespierre, I like your festival, but I detest you. Only believe this with a grain of salt, and, if you want to know my way of thinking, don’t believe it at all. Robespierre was on this day at the height of his glory and power, and to defy him in the midst of his triumph would have demanded an audacity of which Lecointre, Bourdon d’Oise et Fréron, all three of whom I knew well, certainly weren’t capable. Souvenirs de la Terreur de 1788 à 1793 (1842) by Georges Duval, volume 4, p. 356-357.

What materials is Biohazard made of? I guess not everything resists radiation
Indeed! No material is totally resistant to radiation; it always depends on the amount of radiation and the exposure time.
Let me get a little nerdy
I clarify and repeat: I'm not an expert on the subject. I did research for this AU in general and thus determined the right materials for the construction of Biohazard. I may be wrong. But this is sci-fi, and some things are improbable but intentional, like Biohazard's melting rays!
Tumblr media
Endoskeleton and joints: titanium alloys, stainless steel, and aluminum reinforced with carbon fiber.
Internal components:
Microchips and components: specifically designed to withstand high doses of radiation and encased in a dense layer of ceramic material within a tungsten protective box.
Sensors made with materials resistant to radiation and high temperatures. Integrated into the endoskeleton and protected by a dense covering material.
Actuators: electric or hydraulic motors made with corrosion- and wear-resistant materials. Located within the joints and protected by the endoskeleton.
Metallic lithium-Ion batteries specially designed to operate in extreme environments, housed in a tungsten protective box, away from sensitive components.
Cooling system: copper tubes and non-flammable, radiation-resistant cooling fluids integrated into the endoskeleton to dissipate heat generated by electronic components and shielding.
Protection systems:
Primary shielding: lead sheets and boron-based composite materials, 1.5 centimeters thick.
Secondary/Exterior shielding: tungsten sheets, 1 cm thick.
Biohazard has numerous limbs and components functioning as redundant systems. In the event of a failure, he can continue operating with backups.
He used to integrate cameras and sensors for remote monitoring and data collection. These are no longer operational.
Being made of very dense materials, he's extremely robust and heavy! You practically couldn't lift one of his arms if he were off!
He was very, very expensive to manufacture as well. The frustration was very great when the project "didn't work".

Typing Quirk Suggestions for a Robot kin
I hope it gives you a wonderful uptime! :3
Mod Vintage (⭐)
Tumblr media
Letter replacements:
Replace "O" with zeroes "0"
Replace "i" or "L" with ones "1"
Replace "one" with "1", including "one" sounds like "any1", or "we 1 = we won" (the past tense of "win")
Replace "zero" with "0"
Frankly, you can just replace all sorts of letters with numbers, such as
R = 12
N = 17
B = 8
A = 4
E = 3
etc.
or maybe make all "A"s and "i"s capitalized, cause "A.I." (artificial intelligence
Prefixes and Suffixes:
Get inspired by programming languages!
Begin your text with "//" like a comment on C++
If you prefer other languages comment tags, you can use "< !--your text-- >"
Or maybe begin it with " int main () { std::cout << "your text"" and end with "return 0; }" like C++ too
Greet people with the classic "Hello world!"
Or greet people with "beep boop!" honestly, I have no idea where this comes from, but it's cute.
Or write down html stuff, like sandwiching your italicized text with "< em> "
The possibilities are endless!

Finally ready to start showing off the project we've been working on for a few weeks.
TRAIN PUZZLE (dot exe) (title pending)
Tumblr media
me and @msasterisk are working on a switching puzzle game set on slimegirl astronaut Eaurp Guz's homeworld. You operate an Advanced Steam switcher to move cars around. The prototype implements a single level, a model railroad Inglenook layout, but there will be other original levels as well.
MsAsterisk has done all of the programming and game engine work, I've done the game design and art assets.
more screenshots and development photos below the cut:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Until the last couple of days, the game has used plain colored boxes for its cars. The first playable version, shown here, was just a pixel art train toy, with no actual game mechanics, but with an external list randomizer you could still run the inglenook game.
The physics was apparently a monumental undertaking to get working, but now it works great!
Tumblr media
i don't remember what this was about. Truncated the vertices to the unit cube or something.
Tumblr media
@thefallencomet's playtesting of the first prototype revealed a severe bug with couplers where switching cars coupled at a distance between three tracks at once would completely break physics. MsAsterisk fixed it by simply breaking couplers when they're too far apart.
Tumblr media
car concept art
Tumblr media
u.i. concept art. The tracks are bonafide pixel art here, but they've since been replaced with all 3D assets. The loco here is a pixelated render done in blender of the advanced steam tank engine model that i made about a month ago.
Tumblr media
control stand model, WIP. We're not sure if we're going to go for this kind of detailed control stand. Why does a steam engine use a control stand that would look more at home on an EMD diesel? It's the magic of Advanced Steam Technology! The actual engine is controlled with actuators and microcontrollers, they're merely operated from the safety of the control cabin. The gauges are for brake cylinder, boiler pressure, steam chest, and speedometer--but no promises about whether these will be functional.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and finally, portraits of the engine crew
More to come as the game continues development.

Finally did a full workup for my current favorite scrumbly little scrimblo.
This is my spider-sona universe redesign of Otoha Okutamia, titular character of the manga Octopus Girl.
Some notes; the mint colour that's a primary part of her design is inspired by Spectacular Spider-man's Doc Ock design.
The off-white, dark and bright mint design of her jumpsuit is vaguely inspired by the Superior Octopus.
Her casual look combines the loose long-sleeve shirt and shapeless track pants she wears in the manga with a brighter pattern inspired by a blue-ringed octopus.
When out in public, she hides her actuators in a backpack and walks with crutches. In her main art, she's wearing the Visions Academy uniform, as that's where she goes to school.
She's given her actuators cute rhyming names, like the popular headcanon of Otto's actuators having names. Hiroko, Hiroyo, AI, and Mai are her "siblings".
