Men Don't Whisper from Jordan Firstman on Vimeo.
After being emasculated at a sales conference, gay couple Reese and Peyton decide the only way to regain their confidence and prove their masculinity is to sleep with some women. When they meet fellow conference attendees and pleasure seekers Beth and Dominique, it seems like a perfect match. Unfortunately sealing the deal is easier said than done.

We've been filming Tiny Desk concerts for more than 10 years. While revisiting our archives, we discovered that some of our earliest concerts never made it to YouTube! Watch Adam Arcuragi’s Tiny Desk concert from 2010: https://www.npr.org/2010/01/10/122365099/adam-arcuragi-tiny-desk-concert Bob Boilen | January 10, 2010 Four years ago, I dug Adam Arcuragi's CD out a stack of many and was struck by his voice: powerful, but without the unnecessary melodrama that encumbers so many talented singers. Then there was the poetry. All you have to do is read the title to the first Arcuragi song we put on All Songs Considered, titled "1981 (Or Waving at You As We Part at Light Speed Will Look Like I'm Standing Still)." His recent recording, I Am Become Joy, was just as appropriately titled; an uplifting record whose sorrow is shaken by the sound of old friends shouting at the rafters. (Only, unlike most of my friends, they can sing.) When Arcuragi came to play at my desk, most of the folks here at NPR hadn't heard him. After hearing the three songs he played, many walked away amazed. I hope you do, too.

Adam Arcuragi
Earlier this week, NPR gave us another stellar episode in their excellent series of Tiny Desk Concerts. If you have never seen one of these, they invite artists to come in and play a short little 3 song acoustic performance right there in their office behind one of the desks. It's quite hilarious, and often very moving. Through this series I have discovered several great artists that I was completely unfamiliar with. I'm amazed how ideal of a setting this is for an introduction to a new artist. Therefore, I introduce to you Adam Arcuragi. Try not to fall in love with this guy.

Adam Arcuragi bellows from deep down in the depths of Americana. What makes him stand out is his passionate, gravely throated voice and his pension to uses influences from many different genres. Take the song Little Yellow Boat off his self-titled album, for instance. When you listen to that song, you can definitely hear some soul seeped into the skin of it. Overall, there's some Andrew Bird and Okkervil River in this guy; so, I don't really need to say anymore than that. Go check out this guy and his ability to tell it like it is.
Check out the albums "Adam Arcuragi," "Like a Fire That Consumes All Before It..." and "I am Become Joy."

Adam Arcuragi – “Oh I See”
Pairs Well With…The Lumineers, Frightened Rabbit, Noah and the Whale
Folk-based songwriter Adam Arcuragi is busy recording his fourth LP, and from recent postings, it looks like the emotional troubadour is ready to turn up the reverb, and as he says, “unleash the beast”.  Nice.  This change in direction aside, Arcuragi has been a constantly impressive artist in the low-key realms of the indie music world, concentrating on dense song structures and not being scared to live in the minor keys.  It’s really surprising that Adam Arcuragi has remained under the radar for so long, so maybe 2014 will bring it all to fruition…stay tuned!
2012 Review: Adam Arcuragi has found a great groove with his 2012 record Like a Fire That Consumes All Before It.  Arcuragi was a strong highlight through last year’s project and I still haven’t had a chance to catch him live, which will be a priority for this year’s SXSW.  Gritty, emotional and energetic, Arcuragi has such a dense sound that it becomes a pointed bridge between folk and rock.  Vocally, Arcuragi shine wit an honest appeal, riding under the notes in a way that reminds me of Nick Drake.  His backing band goes by the name of The Lupine Choral Society and features a broad array of instrumentation, which gives the music a rootsy, Americana edge.

One of my favorite videos of one of my favorite artists ever. Who's STILL PRACTICALLY UNHEARD OF AND IT MAKES ME SAD. This is just so good. And he just gets so into it. I wish I could've been there for something like this.
