Title: “dronk” Rating: M (no smut but it feels more appropriate than T) Pairing: SasuSaku and TenKarin Day’s Notes: Drunk Team Taka shenanigans but in a Real Life/College AU; I will possibly write more Team Taka College AU interactions (with possible changes to the Karin ships, only SasuSaku will stay the same) because @saradacchi loves SasuSuiKa friendship
She should have stopped him a few drinks ago.
And all of those shots were definitely a mistake.
Sasuke Uchiha was passed out and Karin wasn’t sober enough to worry about the way she was dragging his body as she pulled him by his legs.
Suigetsu was suppose to be holding Sasuke’s arms but he disappeared once they got outside. Karin wouldn’t be surprised if he got himself picked up and taken to the drunk tank.
I should have stayed home and cuddled with Tenten, Karin grumbled inwardly.
She propped Sasuke up so he was leaning against a streetlamp and sat on his other side so his head could roll over onto her shoulder.
“Ah, shit.”
Karin pressed the power button on her phone two more times, hoping it would come to life. No dice. Her battery had drained a while ago as she overzealously added snaps to her story.
She rummaged through the pocket of Sasuke’s utility jacket and pulled out his phone glad that he finally switched to a smartphone instead of the flip phone he used last semester.
“Here we go.”
Karin pressed Sasuke’s thumb on the home button on his iPhone and unlocked it. She was originally going to order an Uber to get them to her place but the feeling of tape on the back of Sasuke’s cell phone case was bugging her.
“What the fuck?”
Karin squinted her eyes and then removed her glasses before putting them back on when she remembered that she couldn’t see without them.
“Return...to...Sa..kura?” Karin frowned trying to remember what she knew about her friend.
They had become part of a group in their first semester when Suigetsu had forced them all to work on a project together. Karin wasn’t friends with anyone in university yet so it helped that Suigetsu dragged Jūgo over to her seat at the lecture hall.
Sasuke had been walking by, probably trying to figure out how to do all of the work on his own, when Suigetsu wrapped an arm around his neck and sat him next to Karin.
They sort of were stuck with each other ever since.
Karin scrolled down Sasuke’s contact list until she found a Sakura with blossom emoticons and a sparkling heart next to the name.
“Cute...”
Karin dialed the number and right before she realized what time it was, “Sakura” answered.
“Can’t sleep?” A sleepy voice giggled.
“No, actually, he’s passed the fuck out.”
“Umm...who’s━”
“Karin. I’m one of his school friends and I was trying to get him home but that asshole Suigetsu ran off on us.”
“And you’re calling me because…?”
“My phone’s dead and I’m too drunk to remember my girlfriend’s phone number and this idiot apparently has ‘Return to Sakura’ taped on his phone so here I am calling Sakura.”
“You sound very coherent for a drunk person.”
“Thanks. It’s a blessing.”
There was a pause and Karin thought maybe Sakura had fallen back to sleep.
“Are you somewhere safe?”
“Yeah, yeah totally.” Karin pushed back her bangs and took a deep breath. “Do you think you could come get us?”
“It would take me an hour possibly but yes. Anywhere you could go for now?”
“University Diner is twenty-four seven I could try and get us there. It’s only a block away.”
“Okay. I’ll try and get there as quickly as possible.”
“I lost my phone.”
Karin jumped, not expecting Suigetsu to say anything since the last time she saw him was in the bar.
“You didn’t have it when we went out. To prevent any regrets.”
“What was ringing in my pocket then?”
“Nothing you nimrod. Where’s Jūgo?”
Suigetsu went silent. If she wasn’t looking at him she would have thought that he passed out too.
“We lost Jūgo.”
“What do you mean we lost Jūgo?”
“I left ‘im in a safe place after he fell asleep but I can’t remember where…”
“You had one job Suigetsu.”
“To be fair.” Suigetsu took a long pause before his next set of words. “I’m drunk as fuck.”
“I hate you.”
“Yeah, yeah. So what are we doing?”
“We gotta take Sasuke to the diner. Then you’re going to look for Jūgo.”
“Can’t you just drag him there?”
“Grab his arms, stupid!”
. .
It was a total invasion of privacy. She would kill anyone if they did the same with her phone but Karin was one jager bomb too many in to care.
She was feeling wired from the energy drink but also slightly brain foggy and she needed to entertain herself somehow.
Sasuke was the weirdest person she had ever met. He had created folders for everything. Not a single app was allowed to float around on its own unless they were the apps on the toolbar.
She learned a lot about him though. He had one email account for gaming, another for school, and one for social media. Karin rolled her eyes that he even bothered with social media apps considering he rarely went on them.
She slid down the booth so her head rest on the top of the seat and sighed. Suigetsu went off to figure out where they had left Jūgo so she was stuck alone at the diner with a passed out Sasuke.
Karin balled up the wrapper to straw for her milkshake and flicked it at Sasuke’s nose. She was already bored with the games on his phone and although his dog was cute, there was only so much cute she could take before she cried because she was still kind of drunk and there was no puppy around for her to cuddle with.
Opening up the Notes app she thought she would find random class schedules and the like. Karin hadn’t expected to find locked notes.
Why would he lock notes?
Karin attempted to open one but it required a password and she couldn’t use Sasuke’s thumbprint to unlock it.
What would he hide? Photos? Sexts???
Karin gagged and put Sasuke’s phone down on the table. She picked it back up again when she realized she could use the contents of the locked notes for blackmail.
Karin wasn’t fond of scooping out the litterbox of the cat Tenten adopted and she could always get Sasuke to do it for her and a bunch of other errands.
But only if she knew the contents of the locked notes.
“Typical,” Karin huffed, blowing her hair out of her face. Sasuke was the type of person that didn’t need a hint to remind him of his password.
She groaned and stretched out her arms on the table top. Next time she was bringing Tenten along. She was her impulse control. Then maybe she would be at home getting smooches and cuddles instead of babysitting a grown ass man.
No. She would have to drag him back to her place where he would be drooling on the comfy couch she and Tenten coerced a salesman to give them at a discount. And then she would be disgusted. So then she would have to draw on his stupid pretty face with a permanent marker.
In fact, perhaps she could get one from one of the waitresses...
“I got here as quickly as I could!”
A pink haired girl plopped down across from her in the booth and brushed Sasuke’s hair out of his face.
Pink.
Pink!
“Your hair. Is pink.” Karin’s jaw dropped in fascination. She squinted her eyes and then backed away with a soft, “whoaaa..”
“Oh wow, you are drunk.”
The girl that could only be Sakura waved over a waitress and ordered a tomato mozzarella panini and cheese fries and a strawberry milkshake.
“He’s going to be hungry when he wakes up,” Sakura explained. She grabbed some napkins and wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth.
“Your boyfriend is a hot mess.”
“Well, he doesn’t usually get this drunk. He doesn’t usually drink enough to get drunk.” Sakura’s mouth quirked to the side as she watched Sasuke’s nose wrinkle up when she smoothed his hair away from his face again.
“I should have realized that when after his fourth shot he shouted something about his girlfriend being his impulse control and slammed three more before promptly passing out.”
“Why did you guys go out drinking like this?”
“Well we just finished a paper and this is the first semester we could actually all go to a bar since Sasuke just turned twenty-one. But tell me how you’re his impulse control. He never talks about you outside of the small updates about what he does on breaks and every weekend.”
“How are you this coherent?”
“Like I said, it’s a gift.” Karin propped her chin on her hands and leaned forward on her elbows. “But please tell me more about yourself and Sasuke. I would like to know some embarrassing things about him while you’re here and he can’t stop me.”
“I don’t think I should.”
“Boo you whore.”
“Excuse me?”
“Do you know all of Sasuke’s passwords?”
“We believe in trust in our relationship. Of course I know his passwords. We have nothing to hide from each other.”
Karin pulled out Sasuke’s phone and flipped it around to face Sakura.
“Then do you know the password to his locked notes?”
. .
“What are you doing?”
When Suigetsu returned to the diner━without Jūgo━Karin was scribbling on a napkin and the girl on Sasuke’s lockscreen was sitting across from her sipping at a milkshake. Sasuke was still passed out except now he was propped up against his girlfriend and drooling on her shoulder.
“We’ve tried like every possible password Sasuke could have used but we can’t unlock this folder of notes.”
Suigetsu looked at Sakura and then back at Karin. He looked at Sakura again for a full minute before holding out his hand.
“Give me the phone.”
“Okay but if we can’t figure it out how are you going━”
“Got it.”
Karin’s jaw dropped as Suigetsu slid the phone across the table. Where the gray lock screen was before was a picture of Sakura looking out a car window.
“What was it?” Sakura asked, eyebrows pulled down in frustration. She should have known him best.
“Bro code.”
“You still unlocked it, Sui.”
“Yeah but I’m not telling you what the password was.”
“Whatever.”
Karin started scrolling down and was confused the further she scrolled. They were all just normal candid photos of Sakura. Why would he━
“OH MY FUCKING GOD!”
All of the patrons of the diner turned to look at the source of the screaming. Karin shot them all a glare.
“What? What did you find?” Suigetsu attempted to grab the phone from her hand but she slapped his hand away.
“Not for your eyes!” She snapped at him.
Karin broke her glare to peek back down at the phone but then looked back up, her cheeks turning a blazing hot pink. She looked over at Sakura and shielded her eyes with a hand.
“I’m so sorry,” she muttered, handing the phone back to the source of her new discomfort. “The first set of pics looked so normal. I didn’t think he would have those.”
“Sasuke’s got nudes!” Suigetsu gasped, a giant grin spreading on his face. He pointed at Sakura and guffawed. “Her nudes!”
“Will you shut up!” Karin yanked on his shirt hard enough for him to fall into the booth. She looked over to Sakura who had gone paler than she already was.
Sasuke continued to snooze away on her shoulder despite all of the noise.
Karin hadn’t expected to meet so much of Sasuke’s girlfriend on their first meeting.
“I can show you my tits if that would make you feel better,” Karin offered.
“No thank you. I think I should just take you all home now.”
“Sui. Where’s Jūgo?”
“Oh shit! I knew I forgot something.”

Finally done with this one! Huff puff!
Part 1 can be found here!
Anyway, let’s jump onto this ride! (I love fluff okay!? Fluff and angst… but mostly angst xD)
Adult!Maxvid!AU - Part 8 (forgetting is hard, though everyone is trying):
im so fucking borrreeeeeeeddddd…
David blinked, staring at his phone. Max wrote to him, the very next day after meeting at Gwen’s!
He felt a flutter of happiness sparkling in his chest as he answered and the pocketed his phone, so the kids in his class wouldn’t get a glimpse of the foul language.
Through the day they exchanged few more messages. David scolded Max for writing during classes, but to be honest he was kinda… happy Max wrote to him.
It felt like some part of their friendship was back.
David was still kinda stressed. There was this something thumping at the back of his head whenever he opened Max’s messages and he hoped it would disappear with time.
Though there were times where his mind still couldn’t comprehend what had happened.
The first time David saw Max picking up Little Star after that night, he was kinda nervous, but the meeting went smoothly. However David kinda could feel the tension in the air.
But they talked and this was what mattered.
And like that passed two weeks, with the tightness in David’s throat getting smaller and smaller with every short meeting and another message on his phone.
(Back to Max) ->
It felt amazing, Max concluded, to be able to write once again with David. Nikki immediately noticed his better mood.
Max still felt guilty, of course, but mostly he was happy.
Though he would deny feeling it, if someone asked him! Fucking no, nu-huh!
Nikki was still teasing him, like fricking a lot! Everything started to move to its rightful place. Well, almost everything.
David didn’t ask him to come over to his house. And well, Max couldn’t really blame him? Because the last time Max had been there he had had the best night of his life. But it hadn’t been the best night of David’s life. And he probably regretted it on so many levels.
(It hurt him, but he couldn’t really blame David)
Talking with David via messages on phone was fine. Seeing him for few short minutes during the week was fine.
(No, it wasn’t, but he couldn’t really do much about it.)
So like that passed two weeks, then another one. The weekend rolled and Max found out that he was out of food. What the fuck!?! He had bought a lot of it few days ago!
(But yeah, one night Nikki had eaten everything from his fridge)
So this was how Max found himself – outside the store with at least five bags and a fucking storm roaming around.
Fuck. And he didn’t have an umbrella! But maybe if he could run…
- thunder cracked dangerously close –
…No can do.
So Max stood there, outside the supermarket and damn! his hands started to hurt. Plus his meat! He needed to put it in a fridge (it was on a promotion, so Max doubted it could live long outside of a fridge)
What to do? Maybe he should call a taxi? But ugh… the money. Plus –
He took out his phone. Yep, it was dead. Great…
This wasn’t his day, fuck –
“Max?”
Max blinked and turned his head.
Shit, it was David, standing there, and Max’s heart leaped so high into his throat that it was almost painful.
“Oh…” Max said, and fuck he wasn’t sure how he managed to sound deadpanned, but he somehow did it. “Hey David.”
“What are you doing here?” David asked, stepping closer to him. He himself had few bags in his hands.
“Shopping, duh?” Max answered, trying to sound casual and as Max as he could, but damn, he was nervous.
David blinked, but instead of getting offended by his tone, he chuckled softly.
Damn, fuck his heart, fuck everything.
“I meant here, outside.”
Ohhhh… damn.
“It’s raining like batshit fucking crazy and I don’t have an umbrella. Plus I kinda don’t want to be killed by a thunder.” And just like on cue another lightning struck through the dark, gray sky and the sound made even David flinch. “Yeah, that.”
“Oh.” David mumbled, looking past Max’s shoulder at the rain cutting through the air with a strict precision.
They stood there for few minutes, staring at the heavily drizzling water pouring from the sky. Max moved his weight from one leg to another, to move it back few seconds later. He could see David stealing glance after glance at him, few times opening his mouth, but still with no words coming out.
Just say what you want to say!
It took David another minute or so, before he opened his mouth:
“Do you want to go to my house?” David asked, slowly, hesitantly, unsure and there was something at the end of this sentence that made Max flinch. Some particle of fear.
However Max turned to David with wide eyes and hope blooming in his chest and found himself asking:
“Are you sure?”
There was an unspoken question, a hidden agreement, a covered understanding of the situation.
David stared at him and Max could almost see hundred or thousand of different thoughts flying through his mind.
It felt like eternities passed before Max heard a reply.
“Yeah.”
Max glanced at the rain.
“We need to run to get there. You are aware of that?”
“Yes, but it’s better to run for five minutes, than stand here for God knows how long.” David added with a smile. “Plus it’s starting to get cold.”
“That is true.” Max said, feeling his fingers getting quite chilly.
There was another beat of silence. Max opened his mouth, feeling the eagerness seeping into his voice.
“So we’re running?”
“Yeah.” David answered breathlessly.
And so they jumped out from under the roof of the supermarket and ran to David’s house.
Max would deny it till the end of his life, but he could feel himself smiling, especially as he heard David giggling behind him. That slow poke.
Even though they maybe ran for four or so minutes, when they reached David’s house they were still soaked.
Max was still kinda stressed when David was taking out the keys to put them in a lock. Thousands of memories were running through his mind, but he tried to push them all back and down.
“Put your things in the fridge if you want. I’ll be right back.” David said, after he took off his shoes, and glanced at him.
Yet there was some strained tone at the end of this sentence and some robotic rhythm to David’s steps as he moved to his own room.
Max put few ingredients in the fridge and then waited for David in the kitchen, taking a first good look at the apartment after what had happened between them. It looked the same – he remembered every book on the shelf, every plant, every stain on the couch – and yet Max felt like he was staring at it for the very first time.
“Here.” David said and then threw something on his head, blocking his sight. “Dry your hair so you won’t catch a cold.”
Oh a towel.
David himself had a fluffy white towel on his hair.
Max started to brush his hair with the towel, observing David from between his wet locks as he moved around the kitchen, busying himself with hiding food in the fridge and cupboards. His movements still weren’t relaxed, there was some hidden tension, some stress pulling strings inside his body, a lagging program directing his movements.
Max couldn’t really blame him, but some part of him was deeply hurt.
Ten minutes later the rain was still pouring heavily outside. David was about to put the eggs away, but he glanced at the window and bit his bottom lip.
“Do you want to stay for dinner?”
Max turned around, from his position near the sink, to stare at David who was in front of the opened fridge. He played with the box of eggs, tilting it and then twirling around.
(He was selfish)
“It depends on what you’re making.”
David glanced at the eggs and then at the fridge, only to finally turn to Max.
“Spaghetti Carbonara?”
Max shrugged.
“Sounds edible enough.”
At that David chuckled softly under his nose and put the eggs on the counter.
After that they worked mostly in silence. The radio in David’s kitchen accompanied them with a soft tune of old songs. After some time David started to hum the lyrics or the rhythm. It was awkward at first, with the tense atmosphere, but it was dissolving slowly, step after step, diluting the thickness around them.
They started even a small conversation.
When they finished making food, they sat in the living room on two different couches with the turned on TV and plates on their laps. Just like they had used to. They ate while watching some random movie – with the rain outside turning into a drizzle, only to finally stop pouring altogether.
When they finished eating, Max washed the dishes, glancing at the window and David few times.
“I should be going.”
“Already?” David asked, looking up from his place on the couch.
“Yeah.”
David clearly wasn’t one hundred percent comfortable around Max, and he didn’t want David to feel like an outcast in his own home, so he decided to return to the dorm. He was just happy David asked him over in the first place.
Max packed his things from the fridge and then moved to the door.
“Will you message me after returning to your room?”
It was dark outside, but it wasn’t even nearly late.
“Sure.” Max said, putting on his scarf and grabbing his groceries. “Take care.”
“You too.”
And with that Max went out.
He messaged David when he returned to the dorm, because when he had forgot to do it last time, David had sent him like five messages later. Plus Max didn’t want to worry him.
(Stupid heart, making him do stupid things)
(Back to David ->)
David was kinda glad Max went out, but he was also like fricking sad by it and he wasn’t sure how to deal with two so different emotions. He wasn’t as comfortable around Max as he used to – which was dumb, because he knew Max wouldn’t simply jump on him. Though he couldn’t stop the stress from forming in his stomach.
But David was also sad, because he hated spending time alone. The house was too empty with only him inside, too lonely, too hollow – even with the radio always turned on and plants or flowers put in every possible place.
Gladly soon after his phone pipped up happily and David quickly grabbed it, mouth twitching into a soft smile after seeing that Max got safely to his dorm.
So time slowly moved forward, with the invisible, awkward atmosphere around them dissipating slowly.
Two weeks later, he made quite too big dinner (but come on, he had to use those tomatoes, other way they would turn bad) and even though he was still kinda nervous about all of that had happened, he messaged Max if he wanted to come over to eat.
Max answered few minutes later, asking if he could bring Nikki over. That idea was a little soothing.
They came over not even fifteen minutes later, with Nikki busting into his house like she owned this place.
“David, my man, free food! Sign me the fuck up!” She shouted, kicking her shoes, not even sparing a glance where they were landing.
David chuckled at that, especially as the girl was already next to him, trying to eat the meat from the pot and he had to swat her hand away.
“Ah ah! Few more minutes!”
So Nikki and Max sat at the table and started chatting about their Uni life, telling David bizarre stories from their dorm. Some of them were funny and some utterly terrifying. David loved every one of them.
And oh, his house felt so much better with someone inside.
Soon after they were eating the food and enjoying a simple evening.
But Nikki wouldn’t be Nikki, if she didn’t ask if David had alcohol. At that David twitched, even though he didn’t want to, with eyes flickering to Max for a brief second.
It was okay, it was okay, it was okay…
“No, Nikki, I’m sorry…” David said, with an apologetic smile on his lips. “Gwen is usually the one with alcohol in her house.”
“Shame.” Nikki said, laying down on the table. “Next time we’re going to Gwen for free food, Max.”
“Why the fuck would I go to Gwen’s house again?”
“For free food! And alcohol!”
Max groaned and then glanced at David, like he was searching for help, but David could only chuckle in reply and shrug.
In the end David enjoyed the evening and soon after he even forgot all about feeling uncomfortable.
Heh, maybe the situation between him and Max wasn’t the worst.
(Back to Max ->)
“Nik, this is literally the worst…”
“What is the worst?” Nikki asked, popping a giant bubble from a bubblegum and almost getting it all over her face.
“David is the worst…” Max grumbled.
“David? I think he is cool! He gave us free food! Like in free and in food, two best things in life!”
“I know… and that’s why he is the worst…”
“Because he did something nice?”
“He is always doing something nice!” Max slapped his hand over his face and dragged it down. “Even after I acted like a fucktard.”
“Hmm fucktard is a pretty fitting word here.” Nikki stated, grinning like crazy and blowing another bubble.
Even though Nikki was kinda or totally right, Max still popped her bubblegum balloon.
“Hey, rude!” Nikki yelped and then slowly started to get rid of the pink gum in her hair. “I mean, he is definitely trying to get your friendship back, that is for sure. Which I think is really nice.”
“That is the problem!”
“Erm David being nice is a problem now? I’m confused!”
“Yes!” Max threw his hands in the air. “Because by him being nice I feel like I l…” Oh, he bit his lip in time.
“Like you like him more and more?” Nikki added, grinning from ear to ear.
Max flushed bright red and turned his head away.
There were few minutes filled with silence as they moved slowly through the quiet and almost empty city.
“I know he is trying hard to get… whatever friendship we had…” Max mumbled, feeling his chest constricting with every word leaving his lips. “But I don’t want that…”
He thought he did, he thought. But he was wrong. So, so very wrong.
“I don’t wanna be friends. I want…” Max took deep breath, combing his hand through his black, curly locks. “I want to be something… more?”
Nikki blew another giant bubble and then asked:
“Does David even know what you feel towards him?”
“No, I don’t… think so…”
Nikki hummed loudly, smacking her lips.
“Well… maybe it’s not the worst situation right now.”
Max glanced at her, kinda perplexed.
“I mean, if he knew, he could get… scared after you two fucked.” Max flinched internally, but there was some kind of a thread of truth intertwining with Nikki’s words. “But he doesn’t know that, so maybe not all hope is lost?” Nikki then ruffled her hair. “I don’t think I make much sense, but well, have you considered trying to be something more now? Like I dunno, I know being nice isn’t your best trait, but maybe do that but like more?” She then huffed and let her hand drop. “Do you even get what I want to say?”
“I think I got the gist of it.” Max murmured, even though he wasn’t sure really.
“It’s just… I’ve seen you dealing with this for few years by now. If you don’t do something, nothing will change.”
There were few steps filled with silence, until Max slowly opened his mouth.
“What if this doesn’t work?” He licked his lips. “What if David doesn’t… like me back, even though I will try?”
“Well, you definitely won’t know until you try.” Nikki shrugged. “But hey, if something like this happens… it’s still a problem for future you, so why should you worry about it now?”
Indeed, why?
Until they reached the dorm they didn’t move this topic anymore. They said their goodbyes and moved to their separate rooms.
Later Max laid down in his bed for few more minutes, maybe even full hour, staring at the ceiling and thinking about what Nikki had told him. Because she was right. He never had done anything with his crush – he just had left it there and had hoped it would disappear. But it hadn’t disappeared. It simply had grown and transformed into something that wasn’t a childish crush anymore.
And it gnawed at Max, it nibbled at his consciousness, because damn he had enough. He had enough of wanting to do something and not being able to. It didn’t have to be anything sexual, fuck, it was even pretty low on the list of things he wanted. He wanted this normalness that came with being with someone – being able to hold their hand, feeling them smiling at you, feeling the warmness spreading over your heart whenever they would peck your cheek.
Feeling that you were alive and loved.
(God, he sounded cheesy!)
But he never had done anything with it. He just had swept his feelings under a carpet and had ignored them, hoping that they would disappear. But they hadn’t and he was tired of pretending they weren’t there.
These few weeks without David – without his cheesy and warm messages, without him hanging with Max, doing nothing and talking about everything and nothing at all in the same time – were terrible and… damn…
He had to do something, because fuck… he wanted this.
Because Nikki was right – doing nothing won’t change a thing.
So Max grabbed his phone, brushed his finger on the screen and clicked David’s name in the contact list.
thanks for the food
No, not enough. Something more.
g’night, you doofus
Maybe it wasn’t much, but it still made Max’s heart thrum heavily inside his chest. Especially when few seconds later he received a reply.
No problem :) :) :) Sweet dreams, Max :D
Yeah, he wanted to try.
Lol, nothing happened in this part, why it took me so long to write this xDDDD? But idk, I like the slow paced story~ Anywayyyyyyyy, stay tuned for Max actually trying!?! What!?

"JAEBUM-AH!!"
You hated that kid. Now it was clear, but the more you were forced to spend time together and the more hatred towards him grew.
"Take Me Y/N" Jaebum yelled by continuing to wave your book, what you were quietly reading, threatening to throw it in your pool.
"How old are you? Five?? "
"Ten for accuracy! You're boring Y/N; Stop reading and come play with me. " He threatened you, pretending to drop the book into the water. At that sight you began to run towards him and threw you on him, dropping both in the pool.
You had never been a quiet little girl and Jaebum should have learned it at his expense after all those years. Returning to the surface, you would take your breath, rest your hands on his shoulders and push him down as you could. You had three copies of that book, he simply had to pay for his behavior.
"Now I'm going to drown you so I'll stay at peace for my entire life!" You screamed by continuing to keep him underwater, while he clasped his arms around your legs starting to pull you down.
"JAEBUM-SSI, Y/N-SSI"
Your father's personal assistant voice made you almost scared, so you left the grip on Jaebum's shoulders and he was finally able to go back to the surface. He coughed spitting water and you threw him a deadly glance, swimming then to the ladder and coming out of the pool shuddering a little.
"Never joke with me, Im Jaebum." You murmured, turning to look at him, still in the middle of the pool that stared at you upset.
~ ~
"So the perimeter of a triangle is the sum of its sides?"
"Jaebum is the twentieth time I tell you...."
"I don't like Algebra." He objected, flapping his head on his algebra book, letting himself escape a whipped groan.
You shook your head and tried to focus on your Shakespeare poem, even though his presence didn't help you at all. Feeling his scent, his voice repeating mathematical concepts, his biting the pen cap, everything made you lose the concentration.
You didn't know when you started having feelings for him, but until that moment it was the worst thing in your life. Im Jaebum was the most unpleasant guy ever and you liked him to go crazy.
"How do you study if you keep your face hidden against the book?" You asked in a low voice, looking him with the tail of the eye and preventing you from passing your fingers through his hair, looking too soft and delicate to be able to resist.
"Direct acquisition, informations pass into my brain through the book."
"Jerk."
"Moderate your language," he snorted by giving you a pinch on your forearm, and you immediately gave him a slap on his neck, causing him to turn up.
You looked at him with that expression of challenge you knew he hated, biting your soft lower lip while waiting for his move. His eyes almost burned with anger but he said nothing and returned to focus on his book, turning with his body to the side so as to give you his back.
"Theatrical as always."
"Listen Y/N, I don't want to be here listening to your ass tricks. I need to pass this algebra test or my father locks me at home to life and destroys my credit cards. "
His surge of anger didn't surprise you, he was always a hot head, but you started to feel a slight sense of guilt pinching the bottom of your soul. At the end you grew together, you could give him a few minutes of peace.
"Do you care about credit cards?"
"No, I don't like being in the house with my parents and my brothers, you know."
He had already calmed down, but his gaze was about to show how much he hated his family situation. Being the youngest child of one of the most influential chaebol family in all of Korea wasn't easy. It wasn't easy for you either, in your own situation, but you had much less concern than him.
Gently you took his algebra book, starting to write notes on the sides of the pages in a clear and precise way. He watched you quietly, just protruding his head to understand what you were doing and the smile that he gave to you shortly after was worth the effort to be polite.
"You're saving me."
"You'll return the favor, okay?" You said right away, bowing your head to hide the redness on your cheeks.
"It will be done, shorty."

"They send you to America to study..?"
"If I want to work in the family company, yes.."
"But you hate that company, Y/N."
You shrugged your shoulders, driving away the sense of nausea that assailed you for days. It was a constant, sickening pain and had brought you to quarrel several times with your parents. But you couldn't disobey, that was your future, and as much as you hated him, you could only accept it.
Jaebum held his hands in his pockets, looking at you and for a short while he seemed almost sorry for your departure. But his expression immediately returned that of ever, sulky and bored.
"You try not to piss your father too much, Jae.."
"Otherwise it sends me to China, I know." Like you, he shrugged his shoulders and looked around swaying on his feet.
He seemed uncomfortable, but with Jaebum you could never decipher what was going into his head. You would have liked to hug him, tell him how much you cared for him and what you were feeling, but it wouldn't bring anything good.
"If you tell someone what I'm about to do I'll kill you," He whispered and suddenly you found himself engulfed in his arms, with his chin resting on your head and his hands intertwined against your back.
Despite the initial shock, you immediately went to surround your arms around his hips and tightened you against him.
It was the last chance to feel his scent and the beating of his heart, slow and cadence, almost a lullaby for you at that moment. The tears pinched your eyes and a little sob escaped from your lips, to which he pushed you away and took your face in his hands, giving you a small and shy smile.
"Yah, don't cry  I know you'll feel my absence but try to contain you. You'll be back soon. " He said trying to cheer you up; "Then maybe you'll meet the Prince Charming who dreams since forever and you'll be happy."
"I'm 19, you idiot.."
"More than the age you have to worry about your character." He guffawed and you immediately stomped his foot, making him jump backward and start to inveigh against you, with a thousand of curses.
"Go to Hell, Im Jaebum."

"These are the statistics of last month, Y/N-SSI"
"Thank you Yugyeom, you can go." You would leave him with a smile, starting to check the documents he had just brought you.
Five months in Korea and you had already taken your place in the family society, as you had been predicted years earlier. You would have wanted to stay in America for escaping to that, but it had been practically impossible.
Your duty wasn't the only thing you were trying to escape from. The other was high a meter and seventy, had dark and deep eyes, a body to envy and a horrible personality.
You had seen him a few weeks earlier as he entered the headquarters of his family's society and almost didn't recognize him. He wore a black suit and was incredibly nice, maybe even too.
"Miss, there is the Im company representative. I let him in?? "
Hidden among your thoughts, you made a nod with your hand, continuing to keep your eyes on the documents in front of you as if your appointment wasn't really important.
"Y/N.."
A distraught whisper made you raise your face and in front of you, in his meter and seventy and a gray suit, hair perfectly hairstyles and penetrating gaze, there was your crush from the times of high school.
Im Jaebum stared at you like you was a ghost and stood still in the middle of the room, his hands into the pocket as always, and you couldn't decipher whether he was happy or not to see you.
Your six years in America didn't help you forget about him, but it even made things worse. Even if you had a boyfriend, you didn't feel practically anything for him except the obligation to your parents who were trying to find you a husband.
"Hey..."
"When did you come back?"
"Five months ago.." Your delicate voice came out almost guilty, while you got up and doing the lap of the desk you approached him; "I didn't have much time to greet everyone.. Father sent me right here. " You added, holding to him your hand that he squeezed in his own, big double of yours.
"Your father doesn't like to waste time, it's nice to see you again."
"You're lying."
"Yes, you've always been a pain in the ass but at least I know who I have to do business with," He laughed mildly and you felt hurt by that phrase, you forgot his "delicate" manners and immediately left the grip and walked away.
You had to be professional, despite the turmoil of emotions that unleashed within you.
~ ~
"You grew up."
You just nodded as you walked at his side, in the direction of the elevators, hoping that the torture would end quickly. The last forty-five minutes had been a torture for you, having to talk to him as if he was a stranger, his avoiding your gaze but focus on the papers. It had been all at your disadvantage but now the freedom seemed incredibly close.
"I go with you" You murmured by crushing the call button of the elevator, starting to tap with the shoe on the floor, trying to hide your increasing nervousness. "So you finally took your place in the company? Forced or..? "
"Volunteer, my grandfather made me do an internship while I was at university and I discovered that oddly I liked it."
"I'm glad" You were lying, but you wouldn't have told him for sure. You would have liked at least him to be free from that commitment that your name has always imposed on both of you.
Finally, the doors of the elevator opened and both entered, you left him the task of crushing the lobby button and you leaned on the wall behind you. You closed your eyes, without seeing Jaebum your day had been a heavy day and that had only worsened it; trying to relax for those few minutes of break that you were indulging.
"Are you alright, Y/N?"
"Mh? Yes, it's just tired--"
The phrase died on your lips because a violent jolt made you almost fall if it wasn't for him that immediately supported you. You thanked him with a little smile and immediately walked away from him; the contact was forbidden for you; realizing at that time that the elevator wasn't moving.
"We are stuck Y/N"
"You're a genius, Jaebum!"
"Calm, don't dump your stress on me." He placed himself on the defensive, approaching the panel and pressing the emergency button with ease. You watched him upset, you couldn't figure out how he could be so calm, while he sat on the ground and extracted his phone from his jacket pocket.
"There is no signal either."
"Yes, it happens in the elevators!"
He snorted and left his phone on the floor next to him, crossing his arms over his knees and starting to whistle a song you didn't know.
"Do you even dare to whistle?!?! I wonder when they pull us out! "
"What should I do? Going crazy like you do? No Thanks, you're enough for both."
"Fuck you, Jae."
You were furious with him for his calm, so despite the narrow space you sat on the other side of the elevator and you squeezed your knees into your chest. You hated the elevators for that reason, you were never sure if such a thing could have happened to you or not.
"Y/N calm down.. They'll come fast. "
"I said fuck you, don't talk to me."
He didn't answer you, and you hid your face against your knees, trying to control the anxiety that was beginning to dwell in you.
Suddenly his arm rested around your shoulders and he gently drew you to himself, starting to caress your shoulder in a reassuring manner. It was strange a similar gesture on his part, but you wouldn't say anything and you kept your face hidden against your knees after you took off your heels to stay more comfortable.
"Are you still afraid of enclosed spaces..?"
"Yup.."
"It will be all right, Y/N" He reassured, continuing to caress your shoulder gently and clinging you more to himself; "Then how was America?"
"So so.. It wasn't home.. "
"But still it was interesting no? "
"Of course. Parties, study, study, study, having to satisfy my parents' wishes. "
Jaebum just laughed at your sarcasm while you concentrated on that sound. His laughter was one of the things that you missed most and at that moment you started to feel the impulse to tell him everything. You didn't understand if it was the anxiety of being locked up with him in the elevator, but you needed to tell him at least once what you felt.
"I marry in a few months" It was the only thing you said and immediately the gentle pat on your shoulder stopped, forcing to raise your face. "Jae..?"
"Congratulations." He hissed between his teeth, fixing a point specified in front of him and that reaction left you surprised so that you put your hand on his cheek and turned his face towards you.
"You know you don't seem very sincere..?"
"I can't be blamed." He said without looking into your eyes, freeing himself from your grip with a rude gesture and standing up. The space remained little but he moved away from you, resting his forehead against the wall of the elevator.
After a few seconds, he began to punch the cold metal on which he was resting, slightly scaring but above all worrying. You immediately got up and without making any noise you approached him, without knowing if you could touch his shoulder or not.
"Jae...."
"Are you getting married? seriously? Are you getting married???? "
Your hand blocked in mid-air in hearing him utter those words angrily, stepping back while he turned and faced you.
"Are you really getting married Y/N? And who is the lucky one? MH? "
"The son of.. An American partner of my father... " You could say, breathless due to the fear that his gaze provoked you; "Why are you doing so..?"
"Because I've been waiting years for your damn return Y/N"
"It's a joke, right??"
A flash of anger unleashed from his eyes and he looked at you upset, while you still didn't believe what was going on. Yet another punch shattered against the metal, his scream filled the cockpit and you closed your eyes, feeling blocked by fear. He had never been so grumpy, at least he didn't  do with you in spite of the many bickering between you two.
"Jae.. JAEBUM! "
"WHAT? YOU CAME BACK FIVE MONTHS AGO! DO YOU KNOW WHAT I FELT WHEN I SAW YOU IN FRONT OF ME? I FELT LIKE AN IDIOT!"
You felt his hands on your arms, which clasped them but strangely not forcefully. It was delicate, almost as if he was afraid to break you. You opened your eyes and he was so close, so close as to let you perfectly distinguish the two moles into his left eyelid and feel his quickened breath collide with your lips. He was so close that you would want to fill that distance.
"You're scaring me.."
"I'm afraid of the fact that I love you since we were fifteen and I never told you." He whispered without any force to fight, letting his hands slide and dropping them along his hips while lowering his face and you could see something glistening onto his cheeks. "I'm afraid of the fact that you just told me you're about to marry.. And I lost you. "
"Jaebum.."
"Funny, isn't it? The day you told me you were leaving I came to you to tell you I had feelings, but you gave me that news and.. I didn't make it. When I saw you before.. " He took his breath, keeping his face bowed while you felt your heart ready to get out of your chest and explode; "When I saw you before I thought maybe I could tell you everything.. And you advance me by telling me you're going to marry. It's all so bloody funny. "
"Im Jaebum."
"Forget it."
Without answering, just like many years before, you tied your arms around his hips and leaned your face against his chest. You heard him jump due to your hug but immediately his arms wrapped you, squeezing you and you could almost sense his desire to stay in that position perhaps forever.
Your sigh was mild while you just tilted your head backward, so as to meet his gaze, feeling his arms squeezing with even more strength upon you.
"I make you so sorry that you have to hug me..?"
"You make me so sorry Jaebum. So badly that as soon as we leave this damn elevator, I'll go to my parents to tell them that I cancel the wedding. "
Your answer seemed to catch him by surprise because his expression changed completely, even though he was still disoriented.
"First: I never loved William, it was my parents' will. Second, if you had accepted my invitation to that party, when we were sixteen, you would have heard from a drunk me how much I liked you. "
"You what..?"
"You're an idiot Im Jaebum, shit." You muttered exhausted and shaking his tie you attracted him to you, enclosing his lips into a kiss. From before you were incredibly hesitant but when he began to reciprocate that kiss, perhaps with much more passion than due, you let yourself go and it was the jolt of the elevator to interrupt you two.
"It's started up again!!!" You screamed excited, looking at the display that marked the number of plans change quickly to every plane that he reached.
"My heart no, do you think you can do something Y/N?" He whispered into your ear, making you blush violently on your cheeks, "and anyway I'm regretting that no, know it."
"Yeah, you must regret it, at this hour maybe we'd be married and happy."
"We can always change this little particular."
