what is Lady in the Water, and why would Dobson like it?

Lady In the Water is a 2006 movie by M. Night Shyamalan in which an apartment owner discovers a water nymph(called a Narf in the film-yes, really) who needs to be protected from a wolf monster made of grass(called a Scrunt in the film-yes, really) so that she can inspire a writer. Shyamalan claimed it’s a fairy tale he made up for his kids.

What the film is ACTUALLY about is how M. Night Shyamalan, who plays the writer character in the movie, is so super talented and amazing at writing that his book will inspire a child to be President who leads the world into a golden age, but is so amazing that he(the writer) will be assassinated for his writing and ideas. It also features a character that is literally a strawman of all of Shamalamadingdong’s detractors and critics, called The Critic., who only exist to be shown how lame and stupid he is before being killed by the aforementioned grass wolf demon.

It’s one of the most self-indulgent, self-fellating nonsense movies you can imagine, so you can imagine why a movie about a super amazing “artist” looked down on by the evil smarmy critic would appeal to Dobson.

I have to say, I’m disappointed. I honestly expected more of an effort to make the comics actually look like Dobson’s style to still trick some people.

The most infamous "Alex ze pirate" comic had finally his edit !

A+ edit, very nice.

It’s still hilarious/sad/pathetic just how much the original comic doesn’t work, even with the loose plot details Dobson’s pirate comic has:

Girl in blue isn’t a crew member, she’s someone Alex steals from all the time and would want nothing to do with Alex.

Girl in red is supposedly Alex’s former best friend/crewmate/ex??? and Alex absolutely LOATHES her and would not want to be anywhere near her. So also not a crewmate.

Alex’s pirate crew actually has more men than women on it(Sam/Talus/Peggy vs. Alex/Area

Even if the other two girls were part of the crew, that’d be 4 women/3 men on the crew, so that’s not even a big enough discrepancy to bring up or mention.

Literally the only way this comic works is if you know absolutely nothing about the comic or characters, which means Dobson only made this to be some kind of self-fellating virtue signal post to make people who don’t read his crap to think he’s “not like OTHER men” by just blatantly lying.

I figured out why Dobson annoys me so much. He was given a lot. He’s clearly got wealthy parents, he went to a prestigious specialist college, and he has talent. If he’d pulled his head out of his arse he could easily have been quite successful. But he just was so self-absorbed that he could never improve, and instead he thought the career would come to him.

Same problem as MovieBob.

Yeah, Dobson’s arrogance and ego were always on of the more irritating things about him. It’s honestly probably got a decent amounts my of people trolling him for that exact reason. Same with Moviebob. The unearned and unwarranted “I’m so much better and smarter then everyone else, scum that they are” attitude.

That “Nazis ruined eugenics” comment follows Bob around for a reason.

I'm looking for a particular old (like, straight outta college old) artwork of Dobson. It's in a gritty, somewhat realistic style where a man who looks very haggard is leaning against a wall/door. I think there might have been a dead body in the foreground or something?? idk. it's just been on my mind for years and i wish I could see it again.

Not sure if this could be considered “out of character” for Dobson or not, but to me it makes it look a bit more like an impersonation troll for some reason

Yeah, it comes across as someone trying to sound egotistical rather than someone who’s actually egotistical.

The troll is overplaying their hand.

If “supposed-Dobson” mentions why he left tumblr and everything, that would be the best evidence considering.
