My Commentary: This A.M.V. showcases mostly Koushiro's Adoptee storyline, while also including brief scenes from 2020 eps that focused on Koushiro's inclusion or highlights. (There are a few tiny semi-spoilery segments from final battle of Digimon 2020 Episodes 66~67, but mainly show Koushiro.) There are no Tri, Kizuna, or The Beginning spoilers here. Extended Commentary: An A.M.V. I made in just under 2 hours, or, about an hour and 50 minutes total of editing, plus saving and review checks; as I aimed to finish just in time for: "Kou&Ten Day" a.k.a a "Koushiro & Tentomon Day" {Focus} (5/10, May 10) in the J.P.N fan base, the name comes from the "Kou" of Koushiro's J.P.N name, {Kou = Go = "Five" (5)} as pronounced in J.P.N + "Ten", a nickname for "Tentomon" partially given by Mrs. Izumi during "02" ("Tento-san") Koushiro fans often share Koushiro works on this day, including platonic works.

This particular work, specifically for Koushiro x Taichi, includes a Queer focus lens as the original song did. (Please be respectful if interacting on this work!)

{Taichi Yagami} was someone who treated others {including at the school} without discrimination {unjust hatred or prejudice based on social status and class}. That {outlook} of Taichi's never changed {in that time}, even towards {Koushiro Izumi}.

Original commentary, Image Usage & Interaction rules under the 'read more'!

My Commentary: This small but significant sequence takes place not long after Koushiro is revealed to be a canon Adoptee. Mrs. Izumi is fully aware that Koushiro has accepted Mrs. Izumi (+Izumis both) as Koushiro's true parent{s}, however, we are not given indication that the other supporting characters were actually told about 'the secret' of Koushiro's. Shin's surprise, in that regard, can hardly be held too much against Shin - which Mrs. Izumi eventually quickly recognizes, dropping the argument and frustration - Shin was likely completely unaware how strongly Mrs. Izumi felt during these moments, while Mrs. Izumi was likely running on pure adrenaline responding!

Mrs. Izumi, in the original version, is also using a neutrally polite speech pattern that is overall appropriate when speaking to children; Koushiro, in the original, is also known for speaking throughout the entire series with a formal and polite pattern that is "unusual" for Koushiro's age, while it's more "typical" for Mrs. Izumi to use similar in this sequence.

Shin Kido, Jou's 2nd eldest sibling closer in age, the 2nd born of the three Kidos, is the sibling who appears throughout Adventure Episodes 35~39 and later Adventure-specific episodes (such as flashback sequence in Dark Masters arc) specifically. In the 2nd sequel series, "02", Jou's oldest sibling, Shuu, was introduced. The U. S. dub combined "Shin" and "Shuu" into "Jim", a singular character, but they were actually two separate siblings! (Thus, Jou is speaking to Shin as if Shin is the younger of the two siblings, addressing Shin commonly with a 'casual' "Nii-san", though in this scene, Jou sounds surprisingly more 'assured' and perhaps a slight bit 'full of' self, but is quickly grounded by Sora and Mimi not long after.)

Notes:

This A.M.V. is currently mostly finished (This is the "first version" until I can smooth it out!) Hopefully you find some enjoyment with this much! This 1st half had taken about 1 hour + 45 min already. The end stretch took another 45~ min or so 'total'! (But at least 3 hours of concentration tonight to pull it off!!)

My editor was already beginning its typical "crashing" by the point of exactly when I added in the last few clips; so if I can fix it up a bit depends on IF it lets me add more...

I know there's quite a few events related to these two going on lately; since I'm not an artist and write fic / make gifs only sparingly, my preferred method of contributing is via . A.M.V-making... This is an idea I've had for many years now, actually (since before Kizuna and 2020 even happened!) but since I decided to wait it out until I had more decent Koushiro footage, I was finally able to 'complete' my outline for this one too!!

A.U.s (including Parody-inspired ones) can be read in here, including such timeline-hopping A.U. potentials; However, this is actually implied as semi CANON-compliant!! {Across both Adventures and 2020, if with them seperately!!}

There are very minor Tri spoilers (Kokuhaku!Koushiro + KouTai/Taishiro moments only + the 1 Taishiro-relevant scene with all Chosen from middle-end) + 2020 moments (also just a few of Koushiro + Taishiro) [specific eps include 1~3, 16, 36 & 59; all have Koushiro-relevancy]

Like literally every Koushiro fan in the fan base aware these stereotypes exist: Hey, uh, guys, can you please stop treating Koushiro like he's some kind of demon spawn child that can only ever grow up to be the Literal Worst Character Ever responsible directly or even indirectly for every single ""problem"" Adv+02 Chosen will ever face, (including not being able to resolve every single problem with genuine attempts) because that's negative stereotyping and bias for a CANON Adopted character like Koushiro??? EVERY SINGLE Person in the fandom actively focused on hating or sidelining Koushiro and NEVER portraying Koushiro with any sort of Positivity or depth whatsoever, despite the fact theyll GLADLY extend that to every OTHER damn character in the series that THEY personally like: WHAT??? What do you mean actively hating on him is partaking in inherently negative STEREOTYPING of {ADOPTEES} and Non-normative families in even the general sense????? You HAVE to let me actively hate on+sideline this character or else it means you hAAAATE {preferred series/Fav's/'ME'}!!!

Just Koushiro Izumi Things

Concept, or, an A.U. I Haven't Written Yet: One day, Koushiro just isn't responding to any of the Chosen who try to get in touch - including the 02 Chosen, who were currently heading the group in the Adventure Chosen's various absences. They begin to panic a bit, because a Situation is happening, and they Can't Get In Touch With Koushiro, The Only One Who May Have A Semblance of Whats Even Going On (Technologically) Here. Taichi tries to get to the bottom of what's going on, by attempting to find out where Koushiro is, trying to get in touch more directly - but Koushiro isn't even answering Koushiro's personal cell number. It's only after Koushiro's left for a couple days - and after Taichi finally gets back in touch with the Izumi household (Mrs. Izumi had answered calls from Taichi before, so Mrs. Izuzmi knows Taichi enough) that they finally find out what's going on - Koushiro took a days+-long trip to visit the cemetary where Koushiro's biological relatives are buried. (Koushiro does this every year, after all. Notably for ohigan.) But now the Situation is getting out of hand - and Koushiro is somewhere with bad cell reception - so Taichi's the one who has to go help pick Koushiro back up (and FAST). There's just one other problem - Koushiro hasn't actually told the Chosen about BEING an Adoptee yet.

(Fun fact: in the US Dub for Kyou Kara Maou!, {though it is also a heavily localized "dub"} Wolfram, one of the main leads, if not secondary main lead, is also Voiced by Mona Marshall (voice actor of Koushiro "Izzy" Izumi in US Dub!)

[Thus, some of the imagery here was meant to invoke or even lightly parallel Kyou Kara Maou and the dynamic between Yuuri and Wolfram, including within the original Light Novels version.]

(Example: There is a moment just before the final battle of Kizuna; That is meant to more specifically invoke/parallel the "I'LL fall with You" / "I finally CAUGHT YOU" line/scenes between Yuuri and Wolfram.)

The next time people shove their Bad {/Negative} Koushiro and/or Taichi Takes in my face I'm showing them all these lines I wrote about them back in early Apr. 2k18, even if its A.U. inspired, and even if this part itself didnt get up-loaded until late May of the same year, because this was actually one of the first parts I wrote for the wider fic-verse.

And because I actually like what I wrote here using my interpretation of both Taichi and Koushiro.

{After the first cap, there is a line missing in-between because it reflects the A.U. plot, but I included a variation of it in the body of this post. Its basically a lead-in to younger Adventure-aged Koushiro realizing with a Start that this {Tri-era age-wise, but with the original concept in mind from before Tri}!Taichi Knows Koushiro Is An Adoptee, which means at some point Adventure!Koushiro got to actively TELL Taichi that Koushiro Is An Adoptee, and this Koushiro is Recognizing.}
