Weather Report
This weather forecast is conceptualized as an interface that is easy to understand for the user. The information is displayed in different ways, the first is through location, the second is through time, and the last is through category.
I wanted to create a weather report that was easy to look at with warm colors but I also wanted to make sure that the information itself was called out and legible.
I chose a sans serif font for the main information because it's is very readable and then i chose a fun script font for the countries because throughout the motion piece they are the largest aspect.
The motion of this piece is fluid and after each set of information the viewer has time to stop and read all of the information.

This assignment was a pre task before our major assignment and its purpose was for us to get more familiar with the software. Since this was only the second time using the software my process was to ask a lot of questions and trying different things to try and figure out what did what. I’d say that this actually made me a little more comfortable working with the software.

Title: TASA Program Booklet
Instructor: Tuan Phan
I created a program booklet for a conference called TASA that was held at St. Edward's University. I chose a striking color scheme to contrast and allow legibility. This project I focused on my use of the grid, colors and planning the layout.

This project was based on the L.A.T.C.H. concept and represents cities by alphabet order. My animation transition where placing them in order and them highlighting the letter they where arranged by. This exercise helped me get some AfterEffects skills to become better at it.

Weather Report
In Advanced Issues of Typography, we were to create a weather report for a location of our choice. The weather report was to be based on the distant future and was to project the high, lows, and climate conditions of four cities over a three day weekend.
We were asked to use three of the five L.A.T.C.H. concepts— Location, Alphabet, Time, Category, or Hierarchy— to interpret motion in our weather report.
For my weather report, I chose to do time, location and hierarchy for four cities in Meixco— Acapulco, Ciudad Juarez, Nuevo Laredo and San Luis Potosi. The report started from a blank screen to random cities to the first concept of time, where Friday, Saturday and Sunday were emphasized to show such concept. Secondly, objects moved into the second concept: location and slowly transitioned to the third: hierarchy. In hierarchy, temperatures from the four cities were placed in order from the highest ‘high’ temperature to the lowest ‘high’ temperature.
For additional attributes for my weather report, I used a color palette of grey, purple and shades of blue. Additionally, I used different weights of the typeface Gotham to differentiate hierarchy throughout the video.

Program Booklet TASA
FINALBOOK_tasa
For this project, we were given the content and we were asked to organize and design a book for the TASA conference. I created a book that contains a fold out with information on the schedule and organized the large amount of information given to us. I added style and design to it.

LATCH Exercise: Category
Category was the emphasis in this motion exercise. I researched different areas of the U.S. and their weather patterns and categorized the assigned symbols according to the region that had the most sunshine, rain, snow, thunderstorms, or cloudy weather. The motion of the symbols falling from above the U.S. represents the action of weather.

The assignment was to create a weather report for your choice of 4 cities. Using hierarchy to distinguish between location, time and category. The process that we used helped us create this video in 3 steps. We did one sequence at a time and got reviewed by our peers for each sequence and slowly reworking each sequence to fix any errors or mistakes. Some decisions I had to make were, how to make each sequence transition in a way that would flow into the next latch. There are still issues with in my video but I believe overall I accomplished the project.

This exercise is also part of the L.A.T.C.H. exercise; in this one I classified days of the week by hierarchy. Starting my week on Sunday and ending on Saturday. I played with motion and prepared my skills for the future.

LATCH Exercise: Time
Time was the emphasis in this motion exercise. I organized each holiday according to the month and day of year that it occurred or will occur in the year 2014. I emphasized the passing of time by showing each holiday fall on it's date in order of when it occurs during the year.

LATCH Exercise: Alphabet
Alphabet was the emphasis in this motion exercise. Again, I was given a random list of cities that was in a jumbled pile. I had to organize this list of cities in alphabetical order. I did this by emphasizing the beginning of each letter with a weight and color change, then placing each city in an organized list starting with the city that started with the letter A and working down the alphabet.

LATCH Exercise: Hierarchy
Hierarchy was the emphasis in this motion exercise. Through Adobe After Effects, I created a short animation that showed the hierarchy of american wealth. I was given a bunch of names of famous, rich people who made their wealth in technology and then organized the names according to amount of wealth.
