Nurse Pixel: I'm going to examine you!
Kazin: ...Eh!?
Usually if friends of mine are not feeling well or are sick I send them my best wishes and they get better in the next few days. (or they tell me their symptoms and I get inspired by it somehow lol)
But with Kazin, I found out she's had bloating and stomachaches for almost a year multiple times a month and hasn’t gotten any better. She didn't seem to know what was wrong with her.
So I did a full examination. (aka asking questions and taking a guess from my knowledge)
My final diagnosis: She has IBS-C
...and yet she probably still won't resist the urges to fill herself with caffeine and junkfood... xD
(your funeral bestie haha i tried)
but yeah I doodled our lil’ sonas for funsies
I gave hers a coffee color scheme ☕

hi dayurno, do u have any advice on how to keep writing a fic that youre stuck on ?
oh god............................ honestly i think the best and quickest way to go around it is to find out exactly What is keeping you stuck. for example, for me, when i've written myself into a hole it is mostly because 1) i don't like this scene but i think it's important, and when this is the case i rework the entire scene until i like it or 2) because what i'm writing feels purposeless and i can't justify spending time to write it if i know it won't serve to further advance anything, at which case i scrap the scene altogether :)
i would say though if you're stuck because of little things like specific character details or backstories or chemistry you can't quite put your finger on yet, my advice is to pause the writing altogether to rework it OR do the very opposite and push through and edit it after. personally though, i think if you don't have a sturdy foundation you'll just get stuck again, so it's good to pick at the basics of your story until you feel like you have a good grasp on them before going back to writing

the thing about the dudebro discussion, the aita post, the willingness to just take at face value any accusations directed at a person you don't know, is that it's all so painfully transparent, it's so obvious that those conversations are happening at this scale specifically because it's about trans women. maybe it's just me, but you generally shouldn't be using certain terms for people unless you know that they are comfortable with them, and if you fucked up then apologize and move on (if we pretend for a second that the majority of dudebros weren't feign ignorance or just actively malicious to begin with). you should be aware that some things don't affect you the same way they affect other people, and you definitely shouldn't be giving those people potentially dangerous advice on topics that you personally aren't familiar with, this is the baseline, at least don't fucking put other people who were misled into trusting you in danger. and if an anon barges into your inbox with some wild accusations then you should stop and think "hey, why are you coming to me anonymously with no evidence to back any of this up, and in such a way that i have to reply to you publicly so more people get to see this" regardless of who it's directed at. like, those are all pretty simple things, or they should be at least, but because the targets are trans women and transmisogyny is so fucking rampant everyone has to bend over backwards to come up with excuses as to why treating trans women this way is perfectly normal and justified.

my work is undergoing a lot of restructuring and we're all getting shuffled off to new teams, and my boss just floated to me a team he thinks I'd be a good fit for, basically doing the same stuff I'm doing now with a closer focus on just fixing problems, ie, my favorite part of the job
If I do actually get moved to this new team though the actual new favorite part of the job is gonna be no longer working under this man

It's getting to the point where instead of being encouraged, I just get pissed when people tell me their friends' success stories with getting jobs as software devs without formal education.
Everyone is like "oh yeah my friend did it without a degree, you can too!" And I'm like ok how did they get past the auto rejectors that won't even look at you if you don't have a degree? How good were they before they were hired, and who supported them while they educated themselves? Or who agreed to take them under the wing and give them a chance even though they were green?
I know people are trying to be encouraging but it's starting to feel less like "I believe you can do it" and more like "if you haven't done it yet, what's wrong with you?" They'll be like "you don't need a degree to succeed, just a willingness to learn" and I'm like, I know that as well as anyone, but to the people responsible for making budget decisions, I'm too much of a risk. What do I have to show for myself to them?
Like at the end of the day it just feels like either these folks were super lucky or I'm super unlucky and either way, hearing their stories doesn't usually help or encourage me. I'm fighting an uphill battle here trying to convince folks who think we're in an economic downtown, that a US-based junior developer is a good investment. Yuck. If you don't have anything helpful to say then at this point just don't say anything 😭
