Aegon was the son Viserys always wanted, the son he slaughtered one woman and raped another for, the son he neglected his daughter for. And yet he did not love him.
Helaena was the dragon dreamer Viserys had always hoped to be, the holder of the Valyrian magic he so revered. And yet he did not love her.
Aemond was the lover of dragons, the eager student of history, the kindred spirit Viserys was never able to find in court. And yet he did not love him.
I will rage forever at how much Viserys should have loved these kids. He should have loved them so fucking much. Every single one of them embodied one of his deepest hopes and dreams. And yet he spent the rest of his miserable life punishing them for his own goddamn decision to bring them into this world.

I’m still stuck with Aegon immediately rolling with whatever chaos Aemond unleashed at the dinner and slamming Lucerys’ head into the table. Look at his smile. He 100% has been in several bar fights before

Alternate Universe - Jaehaera lives.
Both of them were ruined. But to be the only ruined thing in a room full of people who are whole, is awfully lonely. There was safety in being ruined together, an understanding that neither had to struggle to be whole again. They could sit together in comfortable silence and do nothing at all.

and only when his firstborn is killed, Aegon will realize how little time he spent with his children. but instead of spending time with the living, he will give himself completely to the war, because he wants revenge for dead one. and when will he part with his children during the escape for their own safety, he may think that he has a whole life ahead of him to make up for lost time with them, to fix what he can never do with Jaehaerys, but he couldn't know for sure that he would never see his children again.

AU Reds Poster: Alicent joins Rhaenrya as her advisor and wife after escaping her father's influence.
She escapes Kings Landing with Helaena and her grandchildren just in time. Unfortunately, her father has already sunk his teeth into her two sons who are ready to fight for their right to the iron throne. How will Alicent choose between her family and her beloved Rhaenyra when the time comes?

Green stans finding their way into the Team Black tag trying to convince people that both Teams end up losing the war - Never not funny.
Please, read the book and try to understand that even though the Blacks didn’t win the way they expected to, they still won. They’re still standing. They actually exist.
The Dance ends with the Seven Kingdoms under the control of the Blacks (since the final battle of the war was won by them):
Aegon III Targaryen
Viserys II Targaryen
Baela Targaryen
Rhaena Targaryen
Alyn Velaryon
Cregan Stark
Jeyne Arryn
Kermit Tully
Corwyn Corbray
Black Aly
Benjicot Blackwood etc.
Where are the Greens in this whole scenario? Dead? Extinct? Cool. Justice. House Targaryen’s biggest mistake, corrected.
So, you TG stans finally get the picture? The Greens are history (not even that, since history doesn’t bother remembering them).

King Aegon III Targaryen (age 20), with his wife Queen Jaehaera Targaryen (age 17), and their son prince Rhaenor Targaryen (age 2)
i just want them to be happy together😭 (delulu behavior 🤡) they could’ve been so much!! I wish Jeahaera got the chance to live a full and happy life, she fucking deserves it. And Aegon deserves to smile more often 😭😭

the complete and utter irony of aegon waging war against a woman to be the ruling monarch, along with the only two battles he fought in being against women (well, one woman and a child); then being left with just a little girl as his heir at the end of it all, unable to produce any more sons and refusing to name his daughter as his successor. every decision he made, from agreeing to usurp the throne to murdering rhaenyra, concludes with her son being declared king, and his life ending due to a woman’s weapon. poetic justice if i do say so myself.

Okay so hc that I randomly woke up like at 3am the other day, put in my notes and went back to sleep:
The one where Aemond took to sneak into either Aegon or Helaena’s bed whenever he’d have a nightmare after the eye incident and Aegon and Helaena are used to it, no questions asked, after all those years because Aemond never grew out of it. He just silently gets into one of his sibling’s bed and has the deepest and most restful sleep of his life. One day Alicent storms into Aegon’s chambers after hearing he was out and about all night (shocker) and like the only thing visible of the family’s babygirl from Aegon’s bed is his silhouette:
Alicent, exasperated: “You have brought a whore into your chambers again, Aegon? Have you no decency at all?”
Aegon, barely awake and coherent sparing a glance to whoever’s in his bed: “Hmph… what? Oh, that’s just Aemond.”

this is my king, who survived dragonfire, participated in more than one dragon battle, and being crippled captured dragonstone, destroyed a competitor and won the war. i mean... the more blows the enemies dealt, the more deadly aegon's anger became.

Soooo obsessed with the stories of Syrax and Sunfyre.
Syrax: a life spent chained esp after Rhaenyra reaches adulthood (based on the assumption/inferred from text that after a childhood of Rhaenyra rode less. Especially once the Dance started and she was recovering from traumatic birth) never had to hunt and was fed by keepers. (Also described as “well fed” but the wiki sourcing is a bit too vague for my tastes) Laid several clutches. Killed Joffrey when he desperately tried to ride her. Chose suicide in a blind rage killing rioters until she fell.
Sunfyre: Described as beautiful and strong, critically wounded along with Aegon during the first real dragon duel of the Dance. Neither fully recover. Survives devouring dead soldiers- and eventually other dragons. Barely survives the second dragon duel, and devours that dragon as well. Is used to execute Rhaenyra by eating her as well and eventually dies of festering wounds.
Just to go along with your ideas of dragons and riders sharing parts of their personality the narratives are shared too and it gets me so Good.
by god someone did it….you unlocked the secret good fire and blood for real. going crazy about this

There is constant talk of poor pitiful, innocent Alicent Hightower and how she and her children would have been killed had they not usurped the throne (I personally despise the showrunners for going down this road, instead of basing the usurpation on the Hightowers’ obvious greed and treachery. There is always some kind of excuse when it comes to the Greens’ actions - it’s sickening).
Such consideration is not given to Rhaenyra herself. Had she accepted the Greens taking the throne, she and her own family would have remained threats, and the Hightowers would have had them killed one way or another.
Rhaenyra was the legitimate Queen, with the support of many lords. Even if she refused the crown, there would have still been plenty who would deem her brother a usurper and a false king.
Then there is Daemon. Let’s suppose that by some miracle he also accepts the Greens on the throne and does nothing about it. You think the Hightowers would have let him live throughout Aegon’s reign? No way in hell. Daemon would have been the first of the Blacks to be assasinated. He was Rhaenyra’s protector, a true Targaryen prince with many people loyal to him (smallfolk and lords alike). He was a seasoned warrior, a dragonrider and wielding Dark Sister. He was the most feared man in the Realm.
Daemon and Rhaenyra have two sons who are more Targaryen by blood than the usurper king. Do you really think the Greens would be able to sleep peacefully knowing that Rhaenyra’s sons draw breath and one day, the lords may very well decide that they are the rightful heirs to the throne? I think not.
So, by Greencel logic, Rhaenyra Targaryen has just as much right to protect her family and take the throne, as Alicent Bitchtower (making the Greens’ show fanfic reasoning for the usurpation absurd).
