hey there! was curious- do you know of any other blogs that post about afrikaans that i can follow? yours has definitely got me much more interested abt the language and i’d love to learn more!

the unfortunate answer to this question is "no"

I know there are a few Afrikaans speakers on here, but they mostly run personal blogs in English and don't really post in or about Afrikaans. there were a handful of blogs back in the langblr days, but like @learnafrikaans @ivan-the-terrible1997 and @afrikaansislekker are all inactive now and haven't posted since like 2018 ; Lindie Botes went off social media and deleted her blogs a while ago too

so, no, dear anon I have nothing to recommend to you. but you can always message me if you have questions. I do respond to asks eventually ; I tried changing my settings to get tumblr notifications on my phone, but it doesn't work for some reason (which is probably a blessing, but) it means I don't always see asks 'till a few days later

This song was written last year December during the time my husband lay in hospital and a lot of uncertainty surrounded us. The metaphor I used for our relationship was a ship searching for a Lighthouse. Finding our way back to each other. Coming home even through we faced storms.

My hubby is fit and strong since then and I'm grateful that this song is a testament of love conquering all.
