Acceleracers Rant - Nolo Edition!

Okay- I’ve been thinking about Nolo A LOT lately. Especially since, according to the Acceleracers Wiki, Nolo and Tone were orphaned at a young age. This means that Tone has been taking care of Nolo since they were both pretty young- and if we’re going to continue to assume the Wiki is right, there was also a time when they were straight up just on the streets.

This honestly makes me think that after their parents passed, Tone was terrified that the Foster system would separate them, so he just did what he could to keep them together, even if that meant sleeping in his car for a few weeks before he could win enough street races to be able to afford steady housing for them. Nolo was probably still pretty young at the time too so I’m sure Tone was working hard to make sure that Nolo didn’t fully understand how bad their situation was.

Like, when Tone raced he was probably thinking “Damn, if I don’t win this, we might not eat tonight,” but to Nolo he was probably just like “Watch me smoke this guy, little bro!”

This makes Tone’s death hit 1000 times harder for me. Like this eighteen-year-old kid just watched his brother die in a firey explosion which I'm sure not only traumatized him but also left him without family. Sure, he has the Teku, but Nolo IDOLIZED his brother to the point where the thought of Tone messing up and crashing was unfathomable so he literally made up a nerative where Tork maliciously murdered his brother in cold blood.

ALSO if you think THATS sad- I just realized that the car that Tone is racing when he crashes in the flashbacks is SYNKRO!!! or at least it looks exactly like it. So that means Nolo took the wreckage from his brother’s fatal crash and spent countless hours rebuilding it from the ground up!! It EXPLODED and he rebuilt it!!! AHHHHH!!!

Just watched "I Saw The TV Glow" in cinemas and boy did I get chest kicked all the way back to my derealisation episodes when I was like 6 years old.

I feel like the androgynous vibes are really there #and he looks like his brother the most in it #but the others are fun too. I loved doing the portrait. I should do them more often #and.. I will admit. I traced the lemur. I can barely draw people okay how do you expect me to draw animals #but I just think that Aiza would really love a little lemur friend #animals don’t judge and she doesn’t have to watch herself around them. she can just be. plus the lemurs are really cute <3 #I want to eventually do a companion to this with Aiza instead. maybe from back before she ran away #probably something based on reflection from Mulan too bc the vibes are there. though.. to be completely honest #I’d say they have a lot more of Shurochka Azarova’s vibes than Mulan. but that’s just my love for Soviet cinema taking over #it’s essentially if mulan fought napoleon instead. and when discovered instead of left to die they promoted her to lieutenant 😁#I realise the comparison is completely incomprehensible to everyone but me but.. go watch the hussar ballad. it’s free on YouTube with subs #okay enough rambling. i shall now go to bed. @ Kat I hope this brightens up your morning at least somewhat. Uploading the Three Musketeers edit that I mentioned in the tags of my last post bc I spent 40-60 minutes on it and sacrificed all of my tablet storage space and I’m very proud of it

#if tumblr lets me upload it that is #the three musketeers #d’artagnan and the three musketeers #д’артаньян и три мушкетера #soviet cinema #I know no one’s gonna care about this but I’m posting it anyway #bc it’s my blog and I do what I want #it is currently musketeer hours in my brain #idk why #kuviren are very confused as to why they sometimes get a bunch of new roommates #it’s because my obsession with this film series comes and goes every few weeks whenever something triggers it #and then it goes away again after a couple days #ANYWAYS #this was actually a very fun exercise in colour and composition #I just scrolled back and forth on the 4 hour compilation of all three episodes on youtube #trying to spot scenes that fit each colour #I find it funny how there’s a very clear theme with each part #like cardinal richelieu is the only one who consistently wears bright red so he dominates the red scenes #milady is in a lot of yellow bc she’s blonde and her skin has a warm undertone and her main dress is yellow and black #green is just scenery mostly. fun fact movie was filmed in ukraine #and then blue is musketeer uniforms #*insert intense stimming here* I am Completely Normal about this #making this was really fun #I kinda wanna do it for some other fandoms but it takes so much storage space and effort #for very little feedback #I might if inspiration hits me idk #we’ll see #rant over
