Forty-two years ago today, on August 13, 1982, “I Melt with You,” the second single from the album After the Snow by Modern English, was released. While the song failed to chart on the singles chart in the UK, it did manage to make the independent singles chart at number 18. However, the song was significantly more popular in the US. First receiving airplay as an import, the song would eventually peak at number 7 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, number 78 on the Hot 100, and number 60 on the dance chart. Featured heavily in the 1983 film Valley Girl, the song would again resurge in popularity, and it is among the 500 most played songs on US radio.
IT WAS ERIC AFTER ALL!!!! I'm so glad we got to meet him (before Vil snaps him away with those Infinity Gauntlets) (can't wait to see what happens when we get the matching Infinity Tiara to go with them, there will be no survivors)
(sorry to be so slow/rough lately, just got a lot of stuff on the ol' brain at the moment! alas, if only I could spend all my time drawing incredibly stupid characters I mean I do but)
LOVE failed chosen ones. Chosen ones who failed and chosen ones who aren’t special and never were and chosen ones by chance and chosen ones by a choice not their own and chosen ones who succeeded at what cost

This also reminded me of how she said that Katniss wasn’t quite ready to harvest yet. Saying like “Katniss will take some time but eventually it’ll have you dealt with.” and it did! Fate sent him a Karma in the form of Katniss Everdeen.
Katniss who was a reminder of Lucy Gray, of his loved ones, of everything Sejanus stood for. Katniss who was a reminder of his PAST SELF- of a time where he could’ve done the right choices (with Lucy Gray, Tigris, correcting his father's sins with Highbottom etc.) of a time where everything could’ve been different.
Snow mentioned Lucy Gray strongly believed in fate when she said “You’re mine and Im yours. It’s written in the stars.” Of course he didn’t believe it. So when she was gone and Coriolanus Snow chose to cross that line of evil never turning back, the stars made sure that he will be haunted of it to his death.
A masterclass of storytelling right there. Suzanne you icon, you legend.
